“Is this it?”
“I guess so. I already tried to blow it up, and you saw how we missed entirely.”
“Out of all the ways this could’ve turned out, I don’t think this is quite the worst. I’ve got you here with me.”
The giant gray mass continued its descent from the heavens, unaware of the interaction transpiring below. two figures, alike in fear, held each other close as a final comfort. Their feet lifted from the ground for what will surely be the last time, weightlessness gripping the two like a vice.
In the final moments of this world, the moon shone, a beacon of despair.

In a world far away, many awoke, a gap in all their memories. Some constructed giant builds, others complex machines, though all felt a sense of dread looking at the night sky.
Nights were slept through by all, with beds abound as far as the eye could see. It’s just nerves, many reasoned, though all would be awake at night, laying in a bed yet unable to sleep or rise until daybreak. The phantom of a memory playing in their minds, something growing closer and closer and closer, a bright light spelling out total devastation.
