Summary:

After warning the town of an upcoming natural disaster, thus preventing the town from suffering devastating livestock and crop loss, people find themselves temporarily willing to do almost anything to pay off their debt to Bruno. Alma suggests he takes this opportunity to see if he can find a happy marriage for himself. He could have picked anyone, or no one, but all he wants is you (a woman already betrothed) and you're starting to think that might not be such a bad thing after all.

Chapter 1: changes and stuff

Well shit here goes.
Didn't think id be back in the fanfic game after like 7 years out but here I am. I'm telling myself its because Bruno looks like my longterm partner lmao
Anywayss The tag is canon noncompliant so heres whats getting changed

PRE CANON- During the main events (post Bruno warning about an earthquake mudslide situation) the triplets are 30. Don't worry since every comment of aged down Bruno I see is like 'i wanna fuck the 50 yr old rat man" reader is 22 so you get a bit of an age gap still

MADRIGAL POWER CHANGES
Making the madrigals slightly more powerful because why not
Bruno- small prophecies can be done with without ritual, and he can directly control sand/jade/emerald. also he sees different possibilities all the time
Pepa- can actually control her weather most of the time lmao
Julieta- can make healing food still, but also salves/drinks and stuff to keep on hand so you dont have to get her all time

since everyone else is like babies or not born they dont get power changes yet cause i dont want op toddlers sorry

also the dark tag goes for the madrigals not being as "Bless this community, we dont take money, we love to be of service!" as in the movie. They do community work sometimes, but they do charge money too or trade. just in general they are a bit more selfish and concerned with their status than in the movie, particularly Alma im just gonna let her go feral.
