Back in July 2019, I finished writing my long-term story Pariah. In my final author's note for the story, I wrote the following:
There is not going to be a follow-up to this story. After 8+ years, I think that while it is possible I could go on with a continuation or sequel, I also find that I'm ready to call it a night. But do feel free to imagine any possible futures you like. And if one does feel they want to write a follow-up or sequel to this, I will only request that permission be asked, considering that I do have a personal OC in the story.

Didn't hear anything at the time or in the 2 1/2 years that have followed the completion and after a time, came to believe that there was no interest for anyone in doing a follow-up.
So it was a pleasant surprise this past December to find that someone actually had come up with a notion for a possible future scene in Pariah. tjdrewthis of the Discord SkyStar server had been influenced by the final scene in the story, and created an image portraying what they saw as a possible future for Starscream and Skyfire.
The vision in their own words: “ I wanted this piece to be them having a very genuine and heartfelt goodbye after traveling together the way the fic set up at the end. I feel like they never get a clean ending. So here they are saying goodbye, having said everything to each other they've wanted, but hoping to see each other again “
While I will admit that I never had any intent of creating a pairing for Pariah, I found it to be a plausible idea, as I'd had the odd person or two asking to create a sequel pairing them up. Being touched by their gift, and their idea concerning it, I asked their permission for it to be displayed here on Ao3 and received it.
