It was no secret that Saiki Kusuo wanted to be normal. Not just appear normal, he wanted to be normal. He wanted to be able to watch tv and enjoy it without spoilers. He wanted to be able to hang out with his friends (yes, friends, no matter how much he denied it) without knowing everything about them. He wanted to not be able to lift ten thousand tons. He wanted not to be able to run a mile in a millisecond. He wanted to have to take the train to get to Tokyo, he wanted to have to fly in a plane when he wanted to go to his favorite little coffee shop in Brazil.
And most of all… he wanted a normal brother relationship. He wanted a brother who would always be there for him. He wanted a brother who would want to hang out at the movies or get mad at him for borrowing his earbuds without asking or partake in friendly banter with him. Instead, he got Kuusuke.
And despite all of his Kuusuke-ness, Kusuo still loved his brother. But he wished. He wished he could accept a gift of coffee jelly without having to wonder if it’s drugged with some concoction the older Saiki made up. He wanted to be able to play a game with his brother without Kuusuke being a sexual masochist. He wanted to be able to talk with him without having to hear some disgusting and perverted and borderline violent thoughts that Kuusuke had about him.
But alas, that would never be. But he wished
