Chapter Text
Y/n took a breath before walking down the tunnel. It was largely different from the ground they were supposed to feel from the fall. They felt dizzy but fought through it. The ground felt soft and comforting under their feet, as if it wanted them to lay down and fall asleep. They didn’t trust it. They began to walk faster, then start running.
The darkness felt like the ocean, pushing and pulling, throwing and grabbing. Then he began to fall.
Her body began to glow and turn to flames. The ground disappears and she moves through the space. The void originally wrapping around her became distanced. She felt oddly calm in this event, not minding even though she probably should. She began to slow her breathing and fall asleep. She tilted back as her body erupted in flames, as if it was turning from night to day.
They stayed floating until gravity softly pulled them down, placing them in the place they were supposed to fail. The sun began its journey down alongside them. The child began to breathe softly, heart beating, fluttering at its second chance. They coughed and sat up, rubbing their eyes a bit.
“Oh. Its getting late, mom and dad will get worried..” The child picks up his things and begins the jog home. Somewhere, a rodent hums in confusion and concern. He feels the ground tremble and for once it is not expected.
The child opens the door and smiles brightly. The smile dims as her parents duct tape a few boxes shut. “Are we moving now?”
Both snap towards them, clearly not expecting the child’s presence. They look back towards each other and their father walks towards them. “Yeah, I’m sorry kiddo. The people at Mommy’s job aren’t very happy right now so we need to relocate so they don’t take her, ” he chokes before coughing and smiling even though it doesn’t reach his eyes. “Her job. Now can you pack a few things please? Important stuff we can’t leave at all.”
Y/n nods and runs to his room, yellow backpack ruffling as he runs off with it. The parents look at each other and pray they’ll be okay in Japan. They doubt the men will go after them when they’re so far away. Plus the two know Japanese as well as a few other languages if they need to get away. They both know its a false hope, they both know she won’t make it but they will try. Just trying for the child’s sake.
The trio pack the car and lock the house, driving as fast as possible to the airport, making sure to watch for anyone tailing them. They place the rental at the rental port, having sold their original car a few days prior, and nearly bolted inside of LAX. They went through security, a few more things before arriving at their departure area. Y/n finally took the chance to speak up.
“Mommy, how was your day?” She squeezed the kids hand a bit. “Mine was..alright, how was yours?”
“I donno. The kids were playing on the roof and got too rowdy and pushed me off.. I’m okay though because someone saved me! I donno who but it was nice and warm compared to the dark cold stuff.” The woman’s grip got tighter for a second before loosening a bit. “Well. I’m glad you’re okay.”
The child smiles and the flight attendants begin to load those on board. A few hours later, they enter Hawaii for a layover, not leaving the airport, too risky. The two adults talk about the situation softly, not letting the child out of their sight.
-----A few days later------
“Good morning!” The child skips into the kitchen and smiles, her mother’s dark face immediately lighting up. She picks the child up, balancing her on her hip. “Good morning kiddo. How are you feeling today?”
About an hour later, the trio headed off to work and daycare. Y/n skips into school, unaware as the childish innocence in the building fades when they walk up to the office. “Hello!”
The secretary jumps, looking down at the child. His face hides a grimace. “Oh, hello. You must be Y/n Snow, I’ll tell your teacher you’re here alright?” He reaches for the phone without another word. He also proceeds to ignore the child’s existence until the teacher arrives, smiles, and takes the kid to class.
Everything goes well until the quirk discussion comes up. A boy with blond hair and red eyes shoves a green haired boy down, telling him he’s weak if he doesn’t have a quirk. Y/n nearly explodes at the comment, walking over and grabbing the boy by his shirt, lifting him up with both hands. “I’m quirkless! I’m stronger than you are and I’m going to be the better hero. Mido-kun is going to be my sidekick! Plus only villains harm those who you think are weak!”
He drops the boy. “Mido-kun is going to be better then you if you just rely on your stupid quirk! He’ll train twice as hard and be four times as better. Now apologize or I’ll tell your mommy!”
The blond hair boy huffs, and apologizes before running off to play with his other friends. “Are you okay Mido-kun?” The boy nods and dusts off his clothes. “You didn’t have to do that, we were just playing!”
“That’s bullying. Not playing.” Y/n scans the boy for any injuries, finding none she drags him over to a bench by the hand and play twenty questions.
(unwritten part, katsuki's confidence/ego is knocked down several pegs and he gains a soft spot for two technically quirkless kids. )
(Katsuki also helps y/n through their mother's death and the trio becomes even closer. Also when Inko dies and Izuku moves in with Y/n and their dad he's even more caring towards the two and very much over protective.)
