Chapter Text
Will sighed as he stepped into the shower, standing under the water spray he let the heat wash over him for a moment before reaching for his salt and lemon body scrub. Nothing fancy, just some home-made body scrub to aid in getting other people’s personalities off him. It would also help with the strange dreams. Will gave a loud huff as he started to scrub, perhaps harsher than needed but he had to get Jack off him. That man had one of the most domineering personalities he had been around, he was like a bulldozer careening down a steep hill. Will gave a sigh as he felt it sliding off like mud, heaving a relieved breath as he felt the last of Jack’s personality washed away.
Getting out after washing his hair he dried off, padding to his clothes he pulled out his phone and dialed, placing it on the dresser as he hit the speaker, after only a few rings Harry picked up. “Hello luv, how was your week?”
“Fine until Crawford comes asking for my help, just finished a shower to get him off me. I never should have taken that necklace off, but teaching for 4 years with out incident I got complacent after getting the chain fixed.” They talk about their week for a bit longer before they hang up Will has a small smile, “You still coming by for lunch tomorrow? Jack made me socialize today, had to talk to the family of a girl who was taken, when I went up to her room to look around it, she was put back into the bed.”
“Sounds rough luv, yeah I’ll be there at the end of your class right before lunch, if you’ve got any gumbo going that’d be amazing, I’ve missed it.”
Will’s grin grew wider, “You know I’ve always got a pot going, I’ll be sure to pack some, we can see if we can get anyone to try any again, Henderson’s reaction was great. I’ll see you at lunch tomorrow, love ya Cher.” He hung up and climbed into the bed he kept in his living room, preferring to sleep with the dogs when Harry wasn’t home.

Jack storms into Will’s class room Hannibal following behind, “EVERYBODY OUT!” He stops right next to Will’s desk before turning to the students who hadn’t moved. Will hadn’t even stopped giving his lecture, turning towards the board as Jack yells again, “I SAID GET OUT!” several students start to move.
Will doesn’t even turn around, or raise his voice, the room amplifies very well, there is no need to raise his voice. “Anyone who leaves this classroom will fail, sit back down. That includes you Larson.” The latter aimed at a man who had heisted to sit back down with out turning to the front. Several students mutter questions to each other about how he always knows who’s done what without even looking.
Hannibal gave a slight tilt to his head as he looks around the front of the room and quirks the tiniest of smiles as he immediately notices the innocuous reflective surfaces strategically placed around the front of the room. His eyes take in the man at the front of the room he was apparently supposed to analyze for Jack as he stayed to the side of the room as Jack speaks again.
“I told you to meet me in my office Will, these girls…”
Will interrupts as he picks up the receiver to the phone on the desk, “I never agreed, nor did you try to work around my class schedule, as you can see, I’m in the middle of a lecture.” Speaking into the phone as he turns slightly to block out Jack and his apoplectic look. “Yes, I need security, there is a staff member disturbing me…Yes, thank you.”
“What the hell Will! You agreed to help on this case and you're backing out now?” Jack balled his hands and slammed a fist on the desk. “Those girls need you!”
“You will stop trying to guilt me into working for you, I gave you my insights and will meet the forensics team this afternoon for their debrief of the body. This conversation will be continued later, and I don’t mean during lunch.” Will nodded to the two security guards who entered the room and pointed at Jack, they glanced at Jack, each other then back at Will. “Yes, I want Jack Crawford removed from my class room.” He looked at the security guards like he would love to eviscerate them as Jack stormed out of the class room.
“Him too?” One asks pointing at Hannibal.
“You going to disturb my lecture?” Will asks with a raised eyebrow, waving the security guard off when Hannibal shakes his head no. Security leaves and Will continues his lecture while Hannibal stands unobtrusively at the side of the room.
When Harry pokes his head in right as he dismisses the students, he packs his things into his bag and grins at the petite man, snorting as several agents in training make comments on how cute the kid is. Harry rolls his eyes as he turns to Hannibal and holds out a hand, “Harry Potter, I’ve only been here a couple times, I don’t get to meet Will’s colleagues often, I’ve only met Alana once.” He smiles up at the taller man, though he usually has to look up, every one is taller than he is, it’s not like it’s hard he only stands at five feet three inches.
“Dr. Lecter, Hannibal Lecter, I don’t work with Will, Jack Crawford asked me to consult on a case he’s working on.” He looks Harry over, seeing why many people would see him as a child, he looks young, until you get to his eyes. Absolutely lovely, he thinks as he brings Harry’s hand to his lips kissing the back of it instead of just shaking it.
Will grins at Harry as he blushes, “Looks like I’m not the only one who can tell your not a minor Harry.” He turns towards Hannibal, focusing on his tie instead of his eyes, “William Graham, call me William and I will eviscerate you. Sorry I don’t shake hands, to much gets rubbed off on me.” At Hannibal’s minute stiffening Will clarifies, “Auras…it’s got nothing to do with not washing your hands, I’m sure yours are very clean.” Will glances at Harry, he doesn’t normally explain anything, so why is he now. He turns and walks down the hall brow furrowed.
Harry laughs, “Would you care to join us, I’m sure Will has enough gumbo.” He offers before turning to follow after Will, Hannibal only a step behind.

“What the hell was that about Will?! I thought you were fully on board for helping in this case!” Jack tried to crowed Will, looming over him as he glared.
Will didn’t even glance at Jack as he moved around him, “I offered the use of my Imagination, not all of me. As I said in my classroom you will stop trying to shove your personality through my barriers. I will not be guilted into working for you. I took myself off field work for a reason Crawford, you will have to go through the proper channels to get me re-instated and even that might not be enough to get me back in the field. I like my classroom, I can talk at them, I don’t have to socialize with them, hell I don’t have to actually look at any of them. Now are we here to argue over your bruised ego because I didn’t fall in line with your desires, or are we here to catch this Psychopath?”
Jack fumes but Will is correct, Price starts talking, as he unzips the bag. “Tried her skin for prints. Of course, nothing. We did get a hand spread off her neck.”
“Report say anything about nails?” Beverly asks.
Zeller takes his turn, “Her fingernails were smudged when we took scrapings. The scrapings were where she cut her palms with them, she never scratched him.”
Kats turns to Jack, “curly piece of metal is all we got,”
Hannibal watches from the side, hands clasped behind his back as Will interrupts Jack before he can explode again. “You should look at plumbers, steamfitter, tool workers.” He glances along the table and crosses his arms across his chest.
Zeller speaks again, “other injuries were probably, but not conclusively postmortem,” He looks at Katz a bit smugly, “she wasn’t gored.”
“She has a lot of piercings that look like they were caused by deer antlers. I didn’t say the deer was responsible for putting them there.” Katz replied with an eye roll.
Will waits a moment and huffs, “She was mounted on them, probably bled,” he barely keeps contempt out of his voice as Katz and Price look at him, Zeller is investigating the abdominal wound.
“Her liver was removed, then he put it back in.” Zeller points to the cut.
Price furrows his brow, “Why cut out her liver if he was just going to sew it back in?” He looks up and at the team.
Will pauses for moment before it’s like a light goes off, “Something was wrong with the meat.” Zeller tells them she has liver cancer and Will snorts, “He’s eating them.” Hannibal remains impassive as Will removes his gloves and tosses them in the bin.
“Will, meet me in my office!” Jack yells after him as he turns to Hannibal, “I apologize for taking up so much of your time today, Doctor Lecter, if you could follow me please.”
Will is surprisingly at Jacks office when he and Hannibal arrive only a minute behind. Jack lets them in and Hannibal looks around the room and stands in front of the pin board, looking at it with interest. “It is interesting to see how the FBI works when they are not kicking down doors. How many confessions?”
Jack sighs, “twelve dozen last time I checked, Until this morning none of them knew anything, now everyone knows details. Some genius in Duluth took a picture of Elise Nicols’ body. Freddy got ahold of it and ran it on tattlecrime.com.”
“Tasteless.” Will mutters as he sits down and Hannibal turns back to him.
“Do you have trouble with taste?” Hannibal asks as he moves to take the other seat in front of Jack’s desk.
Will glances over and smiles, “I used to work homicide, I learned quickly to build forts or loose myself in the killers mind. Use the same thing when I’m teaching, keeps me separate from all the type A personalities in the building…unless they decide to get into my personal space and fix my glasses making me look them in the eye.” Will turns back towards Jack at that and does not look impressed.
“Not fond of eye contact are you?” Hannibal asks as he sits back in chair facing Will.
Will grins as he still keeps his eyes from Hannibal’s “Eyes are distracting, you see too much, you don’t see enough. It’s hard to focus when you’re thinking those whites are really white, or they must have hepatitis, or is that a burst vein? So I avoid eyes whenever possible.”
Hannibal nods and is about to speak when Will narrows his eyes and looks between the two other men and moves to stand, “This was underhanded Jack, bringing him here to work on my profile.”
Hannibal blinks slowly, what a clever little mongoose you are, “I’m sorry Will, observing is what we do. I can’t shut mine off anymore than you can shut yours off.”
Will snorts, “Don’t psychoanalyze me, you won’t like me if you do. Now excuse me, I have to go lecture on psychoanalyzing before I can go home to my boyfriend who got back from New York today.” Will leaves the room to finish his day.
“What are your thoughts Doctor Lecter.” Jack asks and leans forward on his desk.
Hannibal put his hands on his lap, “He has pure empathy and projection. He can assume your point of view or mine. It is not only killers he is capable of reading and becoming. It can be an uncomfortable gift, Jack. “His perception is a tool that is pointed at both ends.”

Harry smiles as Will enters the house as he pulls dinner from the oven. “Hope you don’t mind luv, I used some of your fish, made fish pie for dinner.” He placed the dish on the counter as Will wrapped his arms around his waist and placed a kiss on Harry’s neck.
“Jack is trying to guilt me into working for him. He was not pleased when I didn’t fall into line like everyone else usually does.” He gave his boyfriend a squeeze before he moved to get the plates. “He’s like a bulldozer, it’s his way or no way. I’m going to need a lot of showers if the higher ups allow me into the field.”
Harry gave a snort as he put two fingers of whiskey in Will’s tumbler and placed it at his seat. “We’ve been warned about him at MACUSA, mostly the other empaths, but word travels fast.” He grinned as Will rolled his eyes, “I can make it look like a heart attack,” Harry offers.
Will nearly chokes on his first bite and chooses the water to wash it down before he actually chokes. He smiles at Harry, “Not yet cher” Harry nods and turns back to his dinner, it had been a long week, he was happy to be home.
