Work Text:
In so many universes, Mace Windu dies. He dies alongside the Republic and he never sees what the Empire becomes.
In the universes where he lives, it’s because someone catches him when he’s thrown out of the Chancellor’s window.
In most universes, it’s Bail Organa. In some, bizarrely, it’s Anakin. In one, it’s Maximilian Veers. In another, it’s Myra Veers.
(In one severely odd universe, it’s a Zevulon Veers who was accidently sent back in time by Luke Skywalker.)
(No, there will be no elaboration.)
But in this universe, it happens to be a very confused Dexter Jettster.
—-----------------------------
Dexter Jettster is in the middle of racing to the burning temple when the Jedi lands on the front of his speeder, slips, and nearly falls off into traffic.
(He would have fallen off entirely if one of Dex’s hands hadn’t grabbed him by the collar of his robes.)
Mace Windu, robes scorched and hand missing, looks Dex in the eye and gasps out, “The Chancellor is the Sith Lord.”
(Which explains a great deal about the war and the power grabbing in Dex’s opinion.)
Then Windu passes out, which Dex finds supremely unhelpful but also, considering the state he’s in, very understandable.
—--------------------------------
When Mace Windu wakes up, there’s a bag of holocrons, his lightsaber, 12 initiates, 8 padawans, 4 knights, adn Dexter Jettser sitting around his bed.
(Dex may be a retired mercenary/smuggler but he has lost none of his old skill or efficiency.)
(And even before, even if he wasn’t such good friends with Obi-Wan and by extension the rest of the Order, he would never have stood for the slaughter of kids.)
(He’s also managed to get Mace a prosthetic hand somehow. Mace decides not to ask.)
Bail Organa, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Master Yoda are also all there. There (or is it here?) is apparently still Coruscant. This is a problem for a number of reasons, not in the least of which is because the 501st and Coruscant Guard are combing the planet for survivors.
The adults put their heads together to plan.
The padawans and initiates are divided up between the knights and Yoda, to be taken to various corners of the Outer Rim and trained. Dex manages to get them all onto very large civilian transports (they go disguised as families), which he is assured will hide their force signatures from Palpatine.
(He didn’t even know that was something to be concerned about.)
Yoda also takes the holocrons.
Obi-Wan has decided to escape by posing as an escort hired by Senator Organa.
(Because of course he kriffing does.)
(The idea had actually originally been for MACE to be the escort but there was no way in any of the sith or Corellian hells he was wearing a teal dreadlock wig and baby blue thigh highs.)
This of course means that there is no good way for Mace to get off world. And so Mace decides to do the sensible thing and stay on Coruscant to foment a rebellion right under the Chancellor’s nose.
(Nobody else thinks this is sensible.)
(Mace will not be swayed.)
(Obi-Wan insists that Mace cannot call his lineage the needlessly dramatic one with the poorly thought out plans anymore.)
(Mace does anyway.)
—-------------------------------------
Padmé is smuggled off Coruscant by Dex as well. Sabé stays behind, dressed as her. She sits in the Courscanti apartment her Queen (Padmé has been a senator for years but she will always be Sabé’s queen) shares with her secret husband and watches the sunset, twirling a glass of red wine.
Darth Vader sweeps into the apartment and realizes immediately that the woman sitting on the balcony is not his wife. He strangles her. And the moment her vitals flatline, the apartment explodes.
(She had linked the detonator to her heartbeat. It was meant to be a sign to Padmé. Because Vader knew exactly how much Padmé’s handmaidens meant to her. And if she saw the explosion, she’d know that it meant that he’d killed her anyways.)
Darth Vader still ends up in a life support suit.
—------------------------------------
Mace talks to the people of the lower levels. It’s where he spends all of his time, since the sheer amount of life above him masks his Force signature from Palpatine. He talks to them and tells them that the Jedi did not attempt to assassinate the now-Emperor. Shows them snippets of the Temple security feeds. Shows them the attacks on the creche and med bay.
(It’s harder to justify the death of a four year old little girl with seven blaster wounds to the chest when you can see her blood spilling across her toys.)
The Avengers of the Amethyst Ash starts like this.
(They nominate him as the leader. He doesn’t particularly want to be the leader, but he has the most military experience. He refuses to answer to the kriffing Lavender Phoenix though.)
(After two months of argument, they all settle on his codename being Righteous Fury.)
(It usually just gets shortened to Fury.)
—---------------------------------
There is a Jedi Shadow who most of the galaxy knows as a Pantoran smuggler named Cheran Shen. He survives Order 66 because he is undercover in Seperatist space and none of the clones know his face.
In most universes, he only survives a year past the formation of the Empire. Vader hunts him down, and while his favored form of Makashi means he survives a little longer than most, he still falls beneath a red blade.
In this universe, Shen ends up only fighting an Inquisitor instead. This is because Mace Windu sees a shatterpoint forming over the ISB headquarters, causing the Avengers of the Amethyst Ash to assassinate four of the high leveled officers, which in turn diverts Vader from hunting Shen to investigate the deaths on the Emperor’s orders.
Shen makes it to the Rebellion, down one hand but with an extra lightsaber clipped next to his own green blade.
(There seems to be a trend of Force users losing their hands.)
Two year old Leia Amidala toddles up to him, ignoring her mother’s attempts to call her back. He kneels in front of her and she traces the golden marks on his face, staring up at him with solemn brown eyes.
They both feel a bond snap into place. He smiles. That is when Senator Amidala and Master Kenobi catch up.
(Never before in his life has Shen been bullied into receiving medical attention by a toddler (It almost makes him dig his heels in and not go, despite the ridiculousness of that notion when he is missing a hand. His pride is one of his weaknesses as a Jedi, and one he strives to be mindful of everyday). When he starts going on missions again, both as a smuggler and as a Jedi, Leia has decided opinions about him and the medical care he should be receiving (it chafes a bit, this dictation of his medical situation. Shen has always been a fairly independent being. But to fight her on this upsets her, and so he listens. Mostly).)
(They find out when she is six that she has a very strong natural instinct towards healing.)
(Leia also has a very strong predilection for adopting competent and independent men who hate medical facilities.)
Shen keeps the Inquisitor’s lightsaber in a box in his quarters at the urging of the Force. When Leia turns eleven, she pulls apart the blade while he is on a mission off planet and purifies the crystal.
When he comes back, it is to a young girl running up to him to brandish her sleek silver lightsaber hilt and white blade. Shen hugs her and congratulates her for her work. Then he hunts down Kenobi and shouts at him for a solid hour and a half for not watching over his padawan like he promised. The insufferable man had smirked at him
(It’s only two hours later when he's meditated and calmed himself down, does he realize that Kenobit was smirking because he accidentally called Leia his padawan. He promptly tracks her down and asks her and her mother at the same time. Leia shrieks and topples him over, which he feels like he should have expected.)
(Shen has to practically bully Kenobi into taking on Luke. They end up dueling over it, a fight which Shen only wins because he temporarily imbues his brass knuckles with the Force and then clocks Kenobi in the jaw with them.)
(The trick only works against the Soresu master once.)
(To Shen’s chagrin, Leia prefers Soresu to Makashi.)
(Kenobi never lets him live it down.)
—---------------------------------
Cheran Shen embroiders. This is his hobby, this is his habit. He does it while teaching negotiation, philosophy, and history. He does it while listening to mission reports. He does it on the ship as they travel between missions.
And sometimes, when he lets the Force guide his hands, one might hope to find little snatches of the future in the stitches.
(They won’t understand what the symbol of the Prime Jedi picked out in Imperial Army gray and Navy green means until much later.)
(Piett and Veers have just met when the pattern is stitched.)
(This is one of the first moment’s in the sequence of events that brings Vader back to balance.)
—--------------------------------
Mace Windu watches General Maximilian Veers wander the streets of Coruscant after being paraded around a gala to commemorate his victory on Hoth. Several shatterpoints trail in his wake.
Three have to do with Vader. One has to do with death and revenge and a short man in an Imperial Navy uniform. One feels like balance and peace.
Mace brushes the man’s Force signature and feels duty and honor, feels courage and kindness and a deep seated grief, feels the rolling of an AT-AT under his feet and the loyalty in the clasp of hands.
(It surprises him, to feel such things from the Butcher of Hoth. Kriff it all, why’d he have to be one of the principled Imperials?)
He watches General Veers leave.
(Veers will never know exactly just how close he’d come to death that night.)
And as the man goes, the shatterpoint of death and revenge smooths and disappears. The one that feels like peace and balance comes just a little closer to breaking.
(And up on the Lady, a tension that Piett hadn’t realized was in his shoulders disappears. He’s not quite sure why he was tense. He also never finds out just how close Veers came to death.)
(Because this is one of the things that is true. Piett is very much a man of justice. But for his friends, to avenge them, to protect them, Piett would go to war.)
(Even Sith Lords fear when a truly good man goes to war.)
—---------------------------------------------------
Bail Organa has a baby boy thrust into his arms as he walks out of the Senate building following Naboo’s vote of no confidence in Chancellor Valorum. “Ma’am,” he calls after the running woman, “Ma’am please! Stop!”
But she vanishes into the crowd before he’s even managed to get two stairs down the Senate steps.
Bail glances down at the little blonde baby then scans the crowd once more.
(He never sees her again.)
He traces a finger over the letters carefully sewn into the baby’s blanket. “Hello, Alexander,” he says. Alexsandr grabs at his finger and Bail can already feel his face soften into a smile.
(In many other universes, where Adrina Kallus does not work up the courage to give her son up to a better life, Alexsandr Kallus is one of the most fearsome and competent of the ISB agents. In this one, Alec Organa is a terrifyingly competent senatorial aide (and bodyguard) for his father, who also happens to occasionally spy for the Rebellion and has a friendly rivalry going with Garzeb Orrelios.)
(He still earns a bo-rifle through Booshawn-Keeraw.)
(Breha may have been the one to teach him most of the hand to hand he knows, but he learned how to fight with staves from his father.)
(Aunt Padmé is the one who teaches him how to fire a blaster.)
—------------------------------------------
Senator Organa stares at Master Windu. Windu stares back. Alec is leaning against the needle shaped Clone Wars era stealth ship that Mace Windu had just stolen.
“You want me to smuggle a ship,” Bail Organa says with the unamused voice of a man who was friends with Obi-Wan Kenobi for over a decade and knows all about inconvenient Jedi shenanigans. “You want me to smuggle an old stealth ship off Coruscant and to the Rebellion.”
“I’m sure you recognise the ship as the one to break the blockade over Chriptopsis,” Mace Windu says, face placid and voice serene in the face of Organa’s exasperation. “Kenobi will as well. I’m sure he can find some use for it. Besides, it’s a stealth ship. It shouldn’t be too hard to hide.”
Prince Alexsandr Organa chuckles. “I’d give in if I were you, father. Garzeb says that’s the best way to handle Jedi when they get weirdly insistent.”
It’s Bail’s turn to look amused. “Well, if Garzeb says…”
Alec crosses his arms and looks mostly unaffected by his father’s poking fun at him.
(Bail kind of regretted teaching his son how to use a razor and introducing him to beard styles. Alec’s mutton chops hid too much of a face that had blushed so easily when he was younger. Which, come to think of it, was probably why his son had done it.)
(Alec is absolutely blushing under the mutton chops.)
Mace Windu has a slight smile on his face when he asks, “Well?”
(They end up smuggling the ship. Alec magnetizes it to the bottom of Tantive IV and they fly right past the Home Defense fleet on a diplomatic mission for Alderaan. They divert halfway through to Scarif.)
—-----------------------------------------------------
Cheran Shen’s missions for the Alliance generally go well. Maybe an unexpected scrape or two over the 16 years before he starts taking Leia out with him on missions, but nothing his carefully planned and rarely needed contingencies couldn’t handle. Kenobi mainly stays on Yavin, because he is responsible for coordinating as a General as well as training Luke and when he does go on missions, it’s with Ahsoka and Rex generally, not Shen.
So he is absolutely unprepared for his first real mission with Leia to blow up in his face in utterly spectacular fashion.
(He’d heard rumors about the so-called Chaos Lineage before… well. Before. But he’d forgotten about the fact that his padawan is a descendent of it (and Padmé Amidala, who was arguably and according to Bail Organa the one time Shen had met the man, just as bad).)
Three shouting matches with Leia, one hastily healed concussion, one slightly destroyed Hutt palace, two actually exploded Imperial bases, and one surprise encounter with three inquisitors later, they’re back on Yavin. They’ve got all the intel they wanted and four boxes of old Jedi lightsabers.
Shen’s robes are still smoking.
Leia bounds off to tell Luke about her first mission (and brag that she got to go on one first). Shen stares after her. “What the utter kark?” he whispers.
Rex just claps him on the shoulder and steers him off to get a drink.
(Usually, Cheran Shen is too proud to drink.
(Because he’s an utter lightweight and it’s embarrassing. Alcohol is the one poison he can’t ever manage to effectively filter out of his blood for whatever reason. He can literally get karking Charon venom out of his system while hallucinating and experiencing excruciating pain because of it, but he can’t even manage to remove the alcohol before he gets tipsy.)
He gets utterly plastered as Rex makes commiserating noises in the background. He can almost hear his old master laughing at him from the Force.)
Shen makes better contingencies for the next mission.
(Darth Vader shows up. Shen loses his lightsaber for the first time since he made it. He ends up dueling Vader with a Force enhanced wooden table leg. A stormtrooper picks up his bronzium saber and, as Shen and Leia are in the middle of running from Vader, hands it back to him while saying, “Here, General.”)
(Which is how they find Commander Cody. Kenobi is overjoyed. So is Cody. There is a tearful reunion.)
(Cody does not believe Shen when he tells him that this is the first time he’s lost his lightsaber, ever. Shen challenges Kenobi to a duel out of the sheer irritation of it and, perhaps immaturely, avoids Cody for the next three days.
He’s very successful at it. He was a Shadow after all, even if all his missions have seemed to go straight to the Corellian Hells recently.
“Prideful,” Leia says smugly at him when she catches on to what he’s doing.)
The next mission doesn’t go any better, even though he planned for Vader’s presence. Thrawn was supposed to have been on the other side of the galaxy.
(“Are all my jobs going to be spectacular cock ups and dramatic cluster-kriffs now?” Cheran asks despairingly, face down on his desk.
“Yep,” says Rex.
“I think it’s highly likely,” says Cody.
Cheran groans. Debates taking another sip of alcohol. Unfortunately, that would require his head to leave the desk and that's just not happening.
“Don’t worry about it General,” Cody says, patting his shoulder. “Rex and I will give you pointers for planning around it.”
“I’m not a General,” Cheran mumbles. This is soundly ignored.
“It’s really not planning around it so much as learning how to sort of… guide the crazy,” Rex says musingly.
“Kaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaark.”)
(Cheran Shen also swears a lot more when he’s drunk. Another reason he doesn’t like drinking.)
(In most universes where a Piett, Veers, and Skywalker work in close proximity, a Stubbornness Support Group forms. In this one, there is a Reckless Jedi (and Jedi Sidekicks, We Mean You Veers, Amidala, and Piett) Support Group. Functionally though, they’re rather similar.)
—----------------------------------------------
Cheran Shen is probably one of the three Rebels who actually enjoys the Hoth base. Sometimes he sits out in the snow, dressed just in a light shirt and trousers and lets the snow fall on his golden markings as he meditates.
When Luke Amidala gets captured by Wampas, Shen is the one to go track him down, mostly unbothered by the cold and levitating a pile of human appropriate winter survival gear behind him.
The pantoran Jedi merely bows slightly in the face of General Amidala’s gratitude.
—-------------------------------------------------
Obi-Wan tells Luke that his lightsaber is his life and that blasters are an uncivilized weapon.
Cheran, who’s only so-so with a blaster compared to Padmé and the clones, lets Leia’s mother teach her how to fire a blaster. But he’s the one to teach her that no one expects a Jedi to have another weapon on her besides her saber.
(Leia manages to hide a worrying number of throwing knives on her person, primarily because she doesn’t have the strength for brass knuckles like her master.)
(She gets an inquisitor in the throat with one after she turns 18.)
—-------------------------------------
When the war between the Rebels and the Empire is over, and they are in the middle of figuring out what the treaty and reformed Imperial government will look like (because Palpatine was assassinated and most of the Empire is still intact), widower Maximilian Veers meets a grieving Bail Organa.
He sits with the man as Organa stares out the Lady’s viewport and into the stars where Alderaan had once been. “It never gets better,” he says, carving a thin sliver of wood off the shape in his hands. “They tell you it does. And maybe it gets less. But she changed your galaxy. She was probably one of the brightest stars in it. And now the grief of her death feels like a black hole, pulling in every light around it.”
The viceroy of a destroyed planet nods once. “How do you survive it?” he whispers.
(He is expecting some platitude. Some trite phrase like “one day at at time,” or “you have to, your son/duty/work needs you.”)
Veers says, “Knowing that your wife is an extremely capable woman who will kick your ass if you join her before your time.”
Startled, Bail Organa laughs for the first time since the destruction of Alderaan. Veers pats his shoulder twice and drops something in his hand as he stands to leave. Bail looks down at the little wooden bust of Breha sitting in his palm as the General’s footsteps retreat.
His son finds him five minutes later, fingers curled tightly about the likeness, tears sliding silently down his face.
“I’m sorry,” Alec says. “I’m sorry, it was my fault.”
And Bail shakes his head, pulling his son down to sit beside him. “No, Alec. No my little prince. It wasn’t your fault. It could never be your fault.”
“I’m 6’3 and over 20 years old, papa. I’m not little,” Alexandr mutters as he leans into his father’s shoulder.
“No,” Bail says, “I suppose you aren’t.”
(This is the first time either of them have really grieved for Breha. They have grieved for the entirety of the planet before, but somehow, it always felt disrespectful to grieve for one person alone.)
(Bail also discovers that the General left his comm number as well, with instructions to call whenever the grief gets particularly bad. It takes him three months to take him up on it for the first time. But he keeps doing it afterward. It helps, to talk to someone who knows.)
(And maybe, just maybe, it helps General Veers a little bit too.)
—-----------------------------------------------
Mace Windu is leading a team through an Imperial storage facility on Coruscant. He stops when he feels a tug from the Force and backtracks, tracing the feeling to the needle shaped IPV-2C Stealth Corvette he remembers from the Clone Wars. There’s a shatterpoint hanging right in front of it.
“We’re stealing the ship,” Mace says.
“Fury,” sighs Han Solo, a smuggler turned rebel who Dex had found on a job and basically forcibly adopted.
(The custody battle with Chewbacca was hilarious for all of the onlookers except Han. There’s a timeshare.)
“You have a ‘feeling’ about stealing this ship don’t you?” he asks, putting all of the disbelief he feels for the Force into the word feeling.
Mace looks back at him, face serene. He nods once.
Han sighs again. “Alright,” he agrees.
Which is when the shatterpoint hanging in front of the ship explodes in Mace’s face.
—--------------------------------------------
Prince Alexandr Organa curls Captain Raymus Antilles’s fingers around the information disk. “Take this and grab my father. Get them both to the stealth corvette and get them to Yavin,” he says, “these plans are the only hope the Rebellion has of destroying that planet killing monstrosity. I’ll delay Thrawn for as long as possible.”
“Your Highness,” Captain Antilles says, “What about you?”
“Take as much of the crew as will fit on the Corvette with you. I will stall the Empire for as long as possible, Captain,” says Prince Organa, his face set. “And you are not to come back for me. Not if my father begs you, not if he orders you. Am I clear, Captain Antilles?”
Captain Antilles looks at him, grief in his face. “Yes, Your Highness.”
“And… give these to Garzeb Orrelios and my father once you get to base,” Alexsandr says, holding out two holo disks and his Bo-staff. “So I can tell them goodbye.”
“Very well, Alec. Good luck.”
Alec smiles at him. It is sharp and dangerous. “To you as well, Captain. And remember, no coming back for me. But if you feel the need to avenge me, at least make sure my father’s safe first.”
(When the Chimera captures Tantive IV in a tractor beam and Thrawn boards, it is to find Prince Organa waiting for him in the hanger bay, hands tucked behind his back and face set into an impressive imitation of Imperial blankness.)
(Thrawn finds no trace of the plans and only a skeleton crew. Alexsandr refuses to answer questions as to the location of the plans, the rest of the crew, or his father, insisting that he is on a diplomatic mission for Alderaan. Thrawn hands him over to Vader.)
(In this universe, Tarkin still destroys Alderaan. But in this universe, Bail Organa lives.)
—-------------------------------------------------------
Several hours after being rocked by the deaths of all of the people on Alderaan, another death makes Mace Windu stumble to his knees as he recognizes the bright light of his grandpadawan’s Force signature wink out. He weeps.
(He hadn’t even known that Caleb Dume was still alive, had felt Depa die and then passed out, not realizing that her padawan had lived. His grandpadawan had been roaming the galaxy without him since he was a child. He’d found out that Caleb had lived, only because he had died.)
(This is what makes Han Solo believe that the Force is real.)
(Kanan Jarrus dies on the Death Star, protecting the Specters and Prince Alexsandr Organa from Darth Vader.)
—---------------------------------
When Piett walks into the meeting room with the Alliance delegation, he stops dead two steps into the room and says, “You!” his natural Axxilan brogue curling around the word.
Cheran Shen freezes. Leia looks interestedly between the two men.
“Don’t tell me you’ve complicated the negotiations already, Cheran,” Kenobi says.
(“Karking brass knuckles,” Piett hisses quietly.)
“He may have arrested me. Once. Or twice. And tried another five times besides.”
(Mace Windu recognizes the revenge seeking man from General Veers’s shatterpoint. He also recognizes Piett from the report Shen had given from that time. It was the first time that one of Shen’s missions had gone drastically off the rails. His lips twitch, ever so slightly.)
“Why’s he calling you Cheran, Chuchi?” Piett asks, in control of his accent once more.
“Because my real name is Cheran,” Shen says. He stands and offers his hand, a slightly sheepish smile on his face. “Cheran Shen, Jedi Shadow. I was on an undercover mission when you met me as Chi Chuchi and our confrontations did a great deal to build up my reputation. If I could evade the relentless and incorruptible Lieutenant Piett, I was clearly the man for any number of smuggling jobs. You’re quite notorious in certain Outer Rim circles.”
Piett’s eyes flit to Vader.
“The Jedi Shadows were the undercover branch of the Jedi,” Vader says. “They would embed themselves in organizations like the Black Sun so the Order could take them down.”
Piett nodded once. Then he reached out and gripped Cheran Shen’s hand.
“I want to hear some of these stories,” Veers says.
“No you don’t,” Piett says immediately.
Shen makes an apologetic gesture.
(Veers gets several documents from an unknown sender two hours later. The Lady checks them over for slicing attempts and viruses. They turn out to be typed up accounts of each of the incidents.)
—------------------------------------------------------
Masters Kenobi and Windu knight Luke Amidala for bringing Anakin Skywalker back to the light, the successful attempt in recorded history.
Leia’s knighting happens three months later after a mission. It comes down to a choice. Saving her master’s life, or saving the lives of a few dozen civilians. Cheran Shen lifts himself on one trembling arm to look her in the eyes. She bows her head and then turns to go save the civilians. It’s down to sheer luck, a terrifying amount of Force healing, and a timely medical intervention by a clone medic named Agony that he lives.
(Because attachment is not the same thing as love. Leia loves her master, like a father or an uncle. But she knows that there are times when duty must come first. And now Masters Windu, Kenobi, and Shen know she understands that. So they knight her.)
—---------------------------------------------------------
Within hours of Mace Windu learning that Palpatine is leaving Courscant, he has a member of the Avengers of the Amethyst Ash plant a bomb on the shuttle.
The Emperor manages to avoid the explosion. Mace Windu lunges at him, purple saber blazing. Their Vaapad and Juyo feed into each other, the opponents battering and slamming into one another as they range up and down the landing platform and throwing flaming debris about with the force.
(Sheev Palpatine is so focused on this fight and the rage of not realizing that Mace Windu lived to notice the slight stirring in the Force that could have warned him.)
Dex Jettster puts a slug through the Emperor’s head. Mace Windu’s saber detaches it from his neck a moment later.
—--------------------------------------------------------
Mace drags Yoda out of hiding by his ear. The Jedi Order rebuilds (with some modifications to the code and curriculums.)
(When Vokara Che’s Force ghost shows up to start instructing Leia, she becomes an unholy terror.)
(Shen takes over the Shadows.)
—---------------------------------------------------
Padmé, who had been swapping out with her handmaidens to run missions as the “Ghosts of Amidala” (because the Empire had put out propaganda declaring her dead), greets Anakin Skywalker in person. The first thing she does is usher their children out of the room.
Then she spends the next hour yelling at him.
(People across the multiverse tend to forget that Anakin Skywalker was not the only one in the marriage with a temper, even if Padmé’s was harder to bring out.)
—-------------------------------------------------------
Shen holds an old piece of embroidery up to show Kenobi.
An Anakin Skywalker who feels decidedly gray in the Force is flanked by and bickering with two men. One wears army gray. The other, navy green.
