Work Text:

The romantic relationship between Osamu and him was one of the most unexpected things in Keiji’s life, since Keiji hadn’t planned on ever seeing either Miya twin after their third year of high school in which they played against each other at nationals. It was a rather humiliating defeat of Fukurodani, but Keiji held no contempt towards the Inarizaki team. In fact, he was now quite close with most of them, especially since he had moved in with Osamu and started working completely online. It had been an unexpected, but comfortable, switch in life plans for Keiji, and it led to a more… fulfilling life for him.

For example, waking up in the morning wasn’t the chore it had been beforehand. Now, it was something to look forward to when going to bed. Instead of waking up alone, in a quiet apartment, with the promise of a stressful day ahead of him, Keiji woke up either Osamu next to him or to the smell of Osamu cooking breakfast. Sure, there were still stressful days, but Keiji now had a support system nearby instead of being alone most of the time. He had even started going to therapy to work through some issues he had, which was going better than he had expected.

Regardless, all of that is to say that Keiji was happy now. Happier than he had been for a long time, and it was partly due to mornings like this.

~~~~~
Osamu had woken up first, like he did most mornings, and Keiji was wrapped up in his arms as if it were the only place in the world for him to exist in. Osamu smiled, pressing gentle kisses onto Keiji’s hair, murmuring, “I love you, darlin’.”
Telling Keiji that Osamu loved him first thing in the morning was something that Osamu started doing as soon as they started waking up in the same bed. It wasn’t so much something for Keiji to hear and reply to, in fact Keiji rarely heard it at all, as it was just a reminder to Osamu that he had the privilege of loving Keiji, and he shouldn’t take that for granted.
Osamu loved loving people, but he loved loving Keiji the most. Keiji was such an easy person to love. The fact that Osamu was loved back by Keiji was astounding, and he would forever be thankful for that fact.
As Osamu continued to kiss Keiji’s head gently, Keiji started to stir, pressing further into Osamu’s chest before breathing out, “I love you, too, dear.”
“G’morning.” Osamu whispered into Keiji’s hair, rubbing circles into his back to try and coax him back to the relaxation of sleep.
Keiji lifted his head slowly, giving Osamu time to move his head back, to look Osamu in the eyes. Keiji smiled at Osamu before looking back down and pressing a kiss against Osamu’s chest. Osamu couldn’t help the shiver that passed through him, even though his chest filled with the warmth of fondness for the man in his arms.
“Good morning,” Keiji said, “It’s your day off, right?” Osamu hummed to answer Keiji with a yes, noticing how Keiji seemed to lean into the buzz of Osamu’s chest. “Can we just… stay like this for a while?”
“Of course.” Osamu whispered, leaning down to kiss Keiji’s forehead.
Keiji giggled quietly, wrapping his arms around Osamu to pull them closer together. They were almost completely molded, and Osamu could hardly tell where he ended and Keiji started. The way they are meant to be.
And, so, they stayed like that, until Keiji had to use the bathroom and Osamu’s stomach was growling up a storm hours later. It was the perfect start to the day.
