Overlord was napping in the peaceful atmosphere of her room. Relaxing in the quiet, uninterrupted bliss. She had let some of her subordinates have the day off, out of her kind demon heart, and decided she would also relax herself.
Just as she was about to fall asleep, someone knocked on the door. She grumbled, tossing her comfy blanket off, the pink demon stomped over to the door and yanked it open. “What do you-?! Oh, Maiden, you’re here again…?”
Maiden nodded with a big smile on her face, “I came to hang out! You do remember, don’t you? Isn’t that why a lot of guards are just lounging?”
Ah, she knew she had a more specific reason for letting most of them off the hook today. Her
Maiden, was coming to visit. “Of course, I remembered,” she said. “What do you want to do to?”
Maiden bounced on her toes, “I thought we could have a picnic! It’s a really nice day outside!” she pulled the picnic basket out from behind her back. Overlord smiled softly at the dedication Maiden put into planning their day.
Of course, Overlord agreed to go on the picnic, how could she refuse such a nice date
day out with Maiden. They made their way to the castle entrance and Overlord told the guards at the gate not to let in any pesky humans. They then went to a hilltop that was a little ways away from Overlord’s castle.
There was only a slight breeze so they didn't have to keep the blanket held down with anything. Maiden pulled out a few iconic picnic foods, she hoped she could introduce Overlord to the tasty human food.
Overlord picked up a “peculiar” looking sandwich, it was cut into two triangles. Without asking she just took a bite, throwing all caution to the wind because she trusted Maiden with her life.
“Oh! That's a ham sandwich, do you like it?” Maiden asked. Overlord nodded, she hated really ever needed to eat before, just drinking that fancy demon wine every now and then for a little change, but this sandwich was delicious.
Maiden gave Overlord more of the food she brought, seeing the demon’s expressions to the different tastes was delightful. It was nice, neither of them felt pressure to talk so they just sat side by side enjoying a delicious lunch.
Maiden leaned against Overlord drowsily, the sun was close to setting, and the food she ate made her feel full. She was warm, full, and safe. Perfect time for a nap, Overlord was shocked by Maiden suddenly falling asleep and picked her up to take her back to the castle.
Once she got back she told a couple of demons to go retrieve Maiden’s picnic items and take them to the human village nearby.
When she entered her room she put Maiden down on her bed. Since it was big enough, she scooted in beside her to join Maiden in napping.
