Work Text:
My ruddy, freckled skin matches the clay in my mother’s garden, a child of the earth from my first breath. My body is dense and unyielding like the mountains, sure of their place in the universe. I have always felt tethered to the ground, the broom between my thighs a tool to tear myself away, to defy gravity for a few stolen hours.
You, my love, my moon. I worry sometimes that you are just an interloper here, destined again someday for the stars. People comment that your head is in the clouds, but I know the truth: it’s the whole of you up there, floating around, unbothered and ungoverned by the laws of this world.
I hold your hand and moor you to me.
When you settle over me, the crescent of your thighs pressed against my ears, you tilt your head. Where do you go in those moments? I urge you down to settle your lips over mine.
If you are the moon and I am the earth, then this is the most blessed lunar eclipse. You block out the world; make me see stars when all I can breathe is your essence. I yield.
Your pull creates waves as you smother me, rocking, chasing your pleasure. I am beholden to you, rooted but for my tongue, doing the lord’s work by worshipping your pussy. When we lock eyes, I see the galaxies of my heart reflected in your stare. For a few brief moments, I release you, free to rocket amongst the stars as you climax.
You return to me slowly then, reverent, lengthening your body against mine, stealing my breath in a different way. Your nimble fingers give me a taste of the cosmos, a hint of the power of the universe. As I come down, you trace the constellations that pattern my skin, reminding me that you’re always with me. I will keep you for as long as you will be mine.
As a child, I wished upon a shooting star. As an adult, I cradle that wish, your celestial body safe in my embrace.
