As he walks out of his class, Aaron was taken apart by a guy (no named needed) who he's used to because he notoriously hates him and occasionally hits him severely.
- Show me! Why are you so scared of this!? Unless it's a boy?!
- It's not!
- Then why can't you do it!? screamed the bully as he violently punches Aaron
- Because I don't want to...
- Who told you to answer?
He punches him more and more until came him, Ayden, the one popular boy with who every girl falls in love. No chance for them, he is gay and proud of it. He interferes with the conflict by pushing the bully hard enough for him to roll back on the floor and then takes the hand of Aaron.
- Can you get up?
- I... I don't k-know
- Don't worry, I got you
Ayden helps him get up on his feet and walks away, far away from the bully. He begins to follow a route while Aaron has his head down and can't seem to do much other than strengthen his grip on Ayden's hand and follow him wherever he goes. Once they stop, Aaron looks up only to find one of those big villas where live the most rich and popular people who goes to his school.
- What, what are we doing here? He asks
- That's my home, come with me
- But you barely know me, I'm just insignificant to you
Still in the streets, Ayden looks at Aaron in his eyes.
- I wouldn't have save you if I didn't know you. I do so let me just show you
Aaron was going through a big shock after that and the bully thing. He cannot believe how has his situation turned to be like this?! He just follows Ayden as it is his only choice, considering he just cannot take his hand off Ayden's. The two boys then entered the huge house and immediately goes to a room Aaron supposed is the one of the popular right in front of him.
- Sit on the bed says Ayden as soon as they get in, I'll bring some medicine for your hematomes. Don't you move from here
-... Kay...
Aaron awkwardly sits while waiting for his savior to find what he's looking for. He begins to put his eyes on everything that's surrounding him. Never had he seen such a bedroom, that could have looked like the typical popular jock bedroom but his was different. In every thing. He did not grew up exactly the same so it was kind of new to Aaron.
- Hey, take your shirt off please
- W-what? No-no, I can't do that
- Why not?
- Cuz it's embarrassing, I don't know you at all plus you're gonna see my soulmark
- I'm sure it is not as awful as you may think. I can assure you
- How can you do that?
- By doing this
He then proceeds to take his shirt off, causing Aaron to blush like crazy and to hide his face behind his hands. He immediately hears a giggle, soft then louder. His hands moves slowly to discover Ayden's figure close to him, too close for him. The standing boy took his hands and quietly traces the palm with his thumb.
- No need to act like this, I'm sure you can take off your shirt now. Or are you not Aaron - - - -?
- I-I am but-
- Then that's your name asserted Ayden upon showing his soulmark to the light and so to Aaron
The shy boy looks at his heart. There is written in beautiful letters his name "Aaron - - - - ". He cannot resist, it's stronger then him, but he pulls his right hand out of Ayden's grap and passes his fingers over the mark, slowly, calmly, in the soft light of the late afternoon. Tears begin to fall of his eyes, he can feel these going down his cheeks. Finally he found the one, he found that one person he was supposed to meet. He feels good, he feels wonderful.
Suddenly, arms are around him and bring him in a delightful hug. Ayden had took the fragile body of Aaron in his embrace understanding his tears were of joy not of sadness. They gracefully laid on the bed, the shy boy being engulfed into Ayden's nude torso. The warmth was with no equivalent right now and neither of the boys even thought of moving. After a while, Aaron spoke up.
- Ayden... I want to show you mine... My soulmark...
- You sure?
- Yeah...
He gets up and take his shirt off, trying to ignore the pierceful gaze Ayden was giving him. Shyly, Aaron turns to face his soul mate, exposing his soulmark. It was his turn to show him, to make him understood that he was his as much as the reverse. While giving a longing gaze, Ayden did the same thing as earlier : he touch the soulmark with his right hand.
- Is that why you were bullied by that dumb bitch?
- Yeah, I mean I don't know, probably?
- Aaron, why was he after you?
- He, he... he has no mark I think so that's why he causes trouble : by bullying weaklings with a mark. At least the rumor says it like that, it might not be true.
- Don't call yourself a weakling, I know you're not one, you're strong and strong enough to reveal a deep secret.
- You-You think so?
- I don't think so... I'm sure of it
Butterflies lighted up in Aaron's stomach. Those were kind words, kind words like he never gets to hear due to his lack of socialisation and absent parents. Again, tears started building themselves on the corner of his eyes, tears that were this time erased by the kind hand of Ayden who only had a smile on his face.
- Don't cry, you're safe now, you don't have to worry anymore, I'm here
And then, Ayden kissed Aaron.
- I love you Aaron whispered Ayden in his ear
- I love you too Ayden murmured Ayden
They quietly settled down again but right before completely relaxing, Ayden made Aaron stand still while sitting.
- I need to put something over your little wounds so don't move
And so did Aaron.
- Are you feeling any better?
- Yes, thank you so much Ayden
- Anything for my soul mate
His little compliment caused Aaron to blush like crazy and the later could only hide in his now boyfriend's torso.
- Come, you need to sleep, I'm sure you're tired after today
Aaron nodded and they drifted off to sleep in a matter of seconds. Ayden first, then Aaron, whose mind was still occupied by the thought of his bullying and how his situation upgraded only in several hours. All of this felt like a dream but, as he turns to Ayden and slowly kisses his forehead, Aaron finally realised that all he has gone through was worth the ending.
