You were lying on the couch when you heard the apartment door open and the long deep sigh that followed it. You sat up to see Jensen settle his messenger bag on the table and drag his feet to the bedroom, already starting to get out of his work clothes. A low mumble was the only response to your 'Hello, honey, how did it go today?' and you knew then that it had been a long day for your boyfriend.
Jake hated his current job and he was looking for another but, while that didn’t pan out, he had to keep working IT for a company in which his day was mostly comprised of fixing printers and helping people recover passwords and deleted emails. Most of the time he was hopeful and positive, always the first one to look for a silver lining in every situation, but some days it would just be too much even for him and he’d arrive home in low-spirits. Thankfully, you knew what to do to cheer your man up.
“Bad day, Jakey?” you asked when he came from the bedroom, having taken off his work clothes - Why do I need a suit? It’s not like the computer cares… - and slipped into some sweatpants and an old worn-out shirt which hugged his chest nicely. Had you maybe washed most of his stay-at-home shirts in a temperature setting that was a bit too high? There was no way to know.
“Someone clicked on a link to get a cash prize of a thousand dollars. Who still falls for shit like that?!” He plopped down on the other end of the couch, laying his head back on the cushions and closing his eyes.
“Dumbasses?”
“Yep,” he answered, popping the p, “had to spend the entire day fixing it so they could work.”
“So what I’m hearing is no one would be able to do anything in that office without you.” You poked at his sides with your foot as you kept teasing him. “I bet all the ladies in the office have a crush on you and everything.”
He looked at you with tired eyes and your heart sank a little at the sight. “Sadly for them, I got a crush on someone else,” he said as he grabbed your foot and kissed your ankle, scratching it lightly with his beard. He finally gave you a smile but it was a far cry from his usual sunny grin.
“Jakey…” you bit your lip as you looked at him with a naughty expression, “you wanna take a nap?”
His head shot up in interest. “You mean…?” You raised an eyebrow suggestively and his smile widened. You swore if this man had a tail, he’d be wagging it. He truly was just like an adorable puppy sometimes.
You raised your shirt, showing him your boobs and he immediately jumped to lay on top of you, pressing his face against the soft skin. You giggled as he rubbed his face on your chest, grabbing and kissing you, always excited to play with his favorite part of your body.
“Sweets, you just always know how to cheer me up.” He sighed and laid his head on your breasts, holding one of them with his hand too as his body relaxed against yours.
One of your hands stroked his back gently as the other one’s fingers ran through his hair. You thought Jensen looked handsome 24/7 but when he was wrapped around you like this was when you found him the most beautiful. His body was heavy on top of you and you could feel the rhythm of his breathing slow down when he drifted off to sleep, comforting you as a pleasant warmth spread through your body.
“We can order a pizza later, watch some of your cheesy rom-coms. You’d like that, baby?”
“Sounds perfect, honey. You’re perfect,” he said before yawning.
“Love you, Jakey.”
“Love you too, sweets.”
Jake fell asleep fast and you let his soft snores and the low sound of the television lull you to sleep as well. He’d find a more fulfilling job in time and while that didn’t happen…well, he was a man of simple pleasures and you were always happy to provide them.
