Chapter 1: The Toddler in a Vigilante Costume

Chapter Text

Anarchy leapt across the rooftops, trying to lose the Pro hero that had begun tailing him after he left some gang members tied up for the police. A scream caught his attention before he changed course, moving towards the noise. As he landed in the alleyway, he found a trio of villains blocking the exit of a young girl. “Hey guys, this doesn’t seem like a fair fight. Why don’t you pick on someone your own size, instead of this girl?”

“Fuck off Kid. This doesn’t concern you.”

“Well, I’d say it does now. Come on. Why don’t you let the girl go, and you guys can try to fight me?” The villains laugh before looking between each other nodding a bit.

“Alright kid. You want us to let her go so bad? Then let's see if you can defeat us.” As the largest of the three lunges towards the boy, chaos erupts. Time seems to slow down as Eraserhead lands in front of the vigilante, wrapping the largest villain in his capture scarf and quickly knocking him out before moving onto one of the other villains, Anarchy distracting the third with some quick hits.

Before Anarchy has a chance to react, his stomach is kicked hard, sending him sprawling back into the gravel.

“Anarchy!” Eraserhead runs towards him after taking out the second villain, barely dodging the wave of light that the third sends towards the pair. He quickly checks over the Vigilante, and after ensuring that he’s still breathing, he turns back towards the third villain, quickly knocking out the small man and tying up all three for the police.

Small sniffling noises draw his attention as he finishes, turning towards the Vigilante, only to find a small toddler that is practically swimming in the teen’s costume. “Of course you had to get hit by something, Kid…”

Eraserhead sighs softly and picks up the toddler, wrapping him up in the vigilante costume. He smiled gently at the toddler in his arms, who was watching him with all the focus and curiosity in the world. “I know I probably shouldn’t ask, but now is the best time for me to find out who you are. I’m going to need to know your name if I’m going to take care of you. So, can you tell me what your name is, Problem Child?”

The toddler thought for a bit, then looked back up at the Pro Hero. He spoke in a small voice, smiling at the man, “My name is Izuku! Midoriya Izuku! And you’re ‘raserhead! Your quirk is so cool!”

Aizawa smiled softly at this, looking at the young boy. “Do you enjoy heros, Midoriya-kun?”

“Yeah! Heroes are the best! I wanna be a hero when I grow up! Momma says I need to wait for my quirk to come in before I can try to be a hero.”

“Well, she has a point…” Aizawa looked around before deciding to sit down with Izuku and talk with him while they wait for the police to arrive. “What’s your mom’s name? We’re going to have to see about getting ahold of her so that she can come get you.”

“Umm… I think Momma said her name was Inko… I’m not sure…”

“That’s alright. Why don’t you tell me about your favorite heroes?”

Izuku lit up, grinning wide as he went into a fast-paced explanation of all his favorite heroes and why he adored them. Eraserhead was surprised to hear that he had made it into the top ten, although he was less surprised that his husband, Present Mic, had gotten second place, just behind All Might.

By the time the police arrived, the three villains were just starting to stir as they were being forced into the back of a quirk proof vehicle. Aizawa stood to greet Detective Tsukauchi, holding Izuku close as the boy dozed off in his arms.

“How are you doing, Eraserhead? Who’s the kid?”

“Detective, meet Midoriya Izuku, or as we know him, Anarchy. He got hit with some quirk and turned into a toddler for some reason. I was thinking I’d take him back to my place for the night and bring him by the station tomorrow to see about finding out what he got hit with and how long it will last.”

Tsukauchi nodded. “In the meantime, I’ll look him up and see what I can find out about his parents and quirk. I’ll see if I can get any answers out of these guys as well.”

Aizawa nodded, adjusting Izuku so that the boy was securely wrapped in his capture scarf and strapped to his body. “I’ll see you tomorrow then.” He took off towards his home, careful not to jostle the sleeping toddler as he did. As he unlocked the door and walked in, he wasn’t surprised to see his husband still sitting on the couch watching tv.

He called out quietly, knowing he was getting back earlier than normal. “Zashi, I’m home.”

“Sho? You’re back early hon… Something happen?” Hizashi stood from the couch, moving towards the front door before pausing and smiling softly. “Who’s this little listener, Sho?”

“This is Izuku. But you probably know him better as Anarchy… He got hit with some weird quirk, and next thing I know, he’s a toddler.” Aizawa carefully removed Izuku from the capture scarf, holding him close. “Do we still have extra clothes from the last toddler we fostered?”

“I think so. Let me go check. You go ahead and take him to the couch.” Hizashi smiled softly before going to check for toddler clothes in the hall closet. He finally found some light green pajamas, along with some underwear, and brought them over to his husband on the couch.

“Here Sho. Hold him up carefully and I’ll get him into pajamas.” With some careful effort and planning, the pair were finally able to get the boy into pajamas. “I’ll take his vigilante costume and run it through the wash. If this only lasts tonight, he’ll probably want his own clothes in the morning. Why don’t you get him set up in the spare room, and then we can relax for a little while?”

Shouta nodded a bit, taking Izuku over to the spare room and carefully getting him settled in the bed, smiling softly when the boy’s small hands gripped onto his capture scarf. He removed the scarf carefully and laid it beside the boy, standing and watching him for a minute before leaving the room to relax with his husband.
