Blood was splattered all over him from aliens downing humans, and vice versa, the thick, oozing sludge slowly tracking down his face and body.

The smell of the raw iron in his nose made his hands quake, and his body shiver. Aliens and Humans fought around him, gutteral roars and trilling screeches from the two, blades and spears clashing together.

Work Text:

Izuku huffed and gasped, thin arms quivering as he weakly tried to hold up his Xialyuth sword, the black metal glinting in the dark, ghastly pinkish-red sun glaring at the battle in front of Izuku from overhead. Blood was splattered all over him from aliens downing humans, and vice versa, the thick, oozing sludge slowly tracking down his face and body. The smell of the raw iron in his nose made his hands quake, and his body shiver. Aliens and Humans fought around him, guttural roars and trilling screeches from the two, blades and spears clashing together.

Izuku stood on the edge of the battlefield, wide, frightful jade eyes scanning the gruesome battlefield, splashes of dark blood coating the blue sandy earth of Planet-7154201X. Izuku panted and gasped as he watched another alien slaughter one of his people, stumbling back and dodging another swing from someone. He was scared. He didn't want to be here! He didn't even know how to fight, goddamnit! He was a scientist for a reason. His thin, noodle arms weren't made for wielding a twenty-pound sword, they were for carefully mixing different medicines and solutions in a damn lab for hours on end. His body wasn't made for the heat of the battle, standing at a mere five-foot-three, and that's with shoes on. He was nimble and thin, and most days you could see his ribs sticking out of his skin. He was thin, lithe even.

He wasn't a warrior.

Izuku's breath came out in quick, quivered heaves, backing up slowly, feeling heat rush towards his eyes, trying to hold back tears. He didn't want to be here; he just wanted to go back to his lab and create weird and interesting samples and see what they did. He clutched the worn leather handle of his sword, squeaking and ducking when a sword swung wide, grazing over his head, strands of fluffy green hair sheared off by the thin, sharp edge of the blade. He crouched on his knees, heaving for air as he struggled to get up, knees wobbling. His armor was heavy on his body; the thick, purplish metal, Xialyuth, was heavy where it laid over his arms, forged in a way to look like dragon scales. He had a chest plate with the Xialyuth sinched tightly against his chest, making it hard to take a full breath of air without hacking and gagging.

He had plating of Xialyuth on the toes of his shoes, which were too-large combat boots. Other than the armor, he wore fire-resistant baggy pants they had to sinch tightly around his thin waist with wire and rope, the black pants frayed and tattered. Izuku's eyes watched the battlefield, searching for a safe haven where he could hide away for the battle, and spotted two large rocks, splattered with blood on its dusty surface, near him. With careful steps, he slowly shuffled backward, ducking behind two large rocks, sliding down as he heaved, finding himself in a small nook between the two rocks, almost perfectly his side. Izuku gagged and heaved, air dank and rancid, smelling of dying flowers and iron. The sounds of battle echoed behind him as he tucked his feet in, shaking like a leaf of a windy day.

Crackles and whirrs echoed close to where he was, making Izuku look up. His wide, glassy jade green eyes snapped towards their still smoking ships, destroyed and torn to shreds. The large ships had been trampled in the beginning, aliens riding giant, angry beasts, skin looking like leather and tar. The giant creatures were odd, to say the least. They had a large bulky body like a rhino, with flat, thick feet, and thick armor with claws laying on their long legs. Their head was shaped oddly, somewhere between a hippo and an elephant, with the wide mouth hippos had with blood-stained fangs that were sharp and glinted in the red sun, and had thin, upright ears, looking cropped.

Their skin was an odd color, somewhere between a soft blue and vomit green, with large, coiling horns a reddish black color, with one placed at the snout, and the other two by their temples, that looked like they were carved out of rocks, having jutting and jagged edges. The large, bellowing creatures had thick black patches on their flanks that Izuku now realized were large, ghastly holes, which were now emitting suspiciously colored gas as the creatures lay dead around their trampled ships, necks slashed and bled out like a chicken at slaughter, oozing sludge-like blood, colored a milky white. Other smaller creatures that were like a dire wolf had a love child with a sabertooth tiger and made it black and red laid dead as well, or barely hanging onto life, saddles a dark brown splattered with bright blue and white blood torn to bits, hanging off their lifeless corpses, necks slashed and heads missing.

Izuku curled into himself between the two rocks, shaking, his gloved hands cupping over his ears, eyes squeezed shut. He hated this. He hated war. Why him? Why couldn't they have left him at HQ, in his little lab, working away? He hated them for this! How could they do this to him?! Why didn't they listen to him when he said invading this planet with less than peaceful intentions was a bad idea?! His friends, family, and crewmates were all on that battlefield, either dead or fighting for their life. He knew this would never end well for them! He knew the species that lived on this planet, known for their dangerous fighting ways and strength. Why didn't they listen?!

Izuku huffed, angry tears roughly being wiped away, smearing the blood on his face over his freckled cheek. He glanced up, staring at the stars that were oh so far away, wishing he could just be back up there, working away in his little lab. His sword was propped up beside the rock, dark red blood sliding down the sword. Izuku adjusted himself, not the best hiding spot, but it worked. He was a little squished due to the armor, though. His shoes were quite heavy from the Xialyuth, and were slowly making him sink into the dark blue sand. Izuku quickly shucked the heavy tops off, unlatching them quickly.

He really did not want to see what lived under these sands. Izuku stares at the battlefield in front of him, many different species of aliens wielding dark, heavy weapons splattered his human blood. Other humans wearing full Xialyuth armor, far heavier than his, have their bodies and weapons splattered with alien blood and bright colors. The thick clouds of color exploding over the field were from Iro plants. Iro plants were about knee-high for most people, with sharp-looking leaves that were thick, similar to aloe leaves, with bright, rich colors as their leaf color. Their stem looks similar to bamboo, only a red to orange ombre, with the red closer to the roots. In the middle of the plant was a sac of pigment, that exploded on touch, erupting loudly and sending color everywhere. The Iro plant wasn't just an exploding plant, the sac inside had a very bad side effect. The sounds of battle filled his head, eyes far away, staring off into the distance. He slowly stood up, getting him out of the small wedge he had sat himself in, hardly having enough time to pick up his sword. He didn't even notice the alien coming toward him.

Izuku heard it before he saw it, mind scrambling to work, throwing his thin, shaking arms up, holding his sword as he blocked a swing from a large alien that glared at him. Their blades crashed together, bright blue and red sparks flying, the ugly sound of metal slicing against metal echoing, making Izuku's ears ring. Izuku squeaked, nearly sliding into a split as he scrabbled for purchase on the sand, dodging the giant alien's sword, feet sinking into the blue sand while the alien seemed to float on it, effortlessly running on it. It was like this planet didn't want them on its grounds, and was trying to actively kill them...

Y'know, he wouldn't put it past an alien inhabited planet to be somewhat sentient.

The large alien growled, eyes narrowing, backing up before running towards him, an echoing roar ripping from the alien's throat. Izuku shrieked as his sword flew out of his hands, like the hilt was covered in butter, the large alien used a move to swiftly throw his sword away with a feral grin on their face. Izuku watched in pure horror as it slid under a very toxic bush, leaves a milky white with little berries hanging off the black branches. Small, translucent berries hung off the branches, the outer shell of the berry was a milky white, and inside sloshed a thick, viscous liquid, as bright pink as some of the alien's skin fighting them. Izuku scrambled back, defenseless, feeling his heel catch something before he was sent backward with a loud squeak. Izuku realizes with as much horror as his tiny body can manage...

He's tripped on a damn rock.

A rock of all things will be his downfall, not another weapon buried into his chest or being ruthlessly blown to bits, even trampled!

But a rock was his downfall.

Izuku choked on air as his back roughly hit the sand, feeling as if he was dropped onto concrete. He hissed, chest stuttering and heaving for air. Izuku slid his eyes open, gloved hands gripping the sand that felt like it was hardening between his hands, staring up at the large alien who loomed over his downed body, crouched over him. Neither of them said anything, staying as still as possible, staring at each other. Izuku's eyes wandered, staring at the alien who had slammed him into the ground. Izuku could tell after a moment of staring that this was an alien with animalistic features. Specifically, a tiger.

A long, fluffed tail swung behind the large alien crouching above him; the glint of what looked like a spike on the end of the tail glinted in the setting sun. The alien's feet were odd, looking like tiger feet, only longer and thinner. The alien had four toes, the two on the outside shorter than the middle toes, both of the alien's feet splayed out on the sand, a thin, skin-color webbing attaching between the alien's feet. The alien had large, bulging muscles and a beautiful face to go with the alien's carved body.

The face looked straight from a picture of a greek god, jaw cut and thick. The alien had thick tufted hair that looked to be ash-blond but was a light pink under the setting sun. Glowing, blood-red carmine eyes glared down at him. The alien, clearly a male, stared down at him, thin, bloody ears that were covered in piercings flicking towards him. The man's lips were curled up into a dangerous snarl, thick, jagged canines that were stained in blood slicing through the air. The man growled deep in his chest, the resonating rumble sending a fearful shiver down his spine. Izuku could see the small line of fur lining the man's spine raise like a dog's hackles, the man's back arched upward, thick claws from his hands and feet digging into the blue sand. Just staring at the alien who loomed over him had something in Izuku's chest blooming, something feeling as if something was tugging him towards this man.

Izuku flicked his eye over to his sword, which lay under the bush. He wondered if he was quick enough to reach it, but the mere thought of bringing harm to this alien had something in his chest aching. Izuku could feel his eyes go hot, tears starting to well in them as he stared into those deep pools of carmine, tears spilling down his face in thick, salty streams. Izuku shook his head, whimpering, "N-No...No...! T-This feels all wrong! I-I can't f-fight you," Izuku sobbed, staring up at the man, who stares down at him in worry, that thick line of fur slowly flattening against his back, closing his mouth.

Katsuki can't figure out why his heart yearns and his chest hurts for the human sobbing under him, a look of despair and heartbreak painting over his face. He stares at the beautiful little human under him, the setting sun now covering the battling planet with a thick gold sheen. The gold from the sun bled into the small man's figure under him, making him look beautiful to him. Katsuki was nearly startled at the thought that his enemy was beautiful, but something in his heart told him he wasn't wrong for thinking those thoughts, chest feeling more and more full the closer he got to this tiny sobbing human.

His heart yearns for this human, for some odd fuckin' reason. Katsuki chuffs softly, ears flicking. His large clawed hands almost want to wipe those tears he caused, but he stops. He bites his lip, clicking his rough tongue against the ribbed roof of his mouth. 'Shit,' Katsuki cursed in his mind as the little human's sobs didn't die down, 'Fuck it,' Katsuki muttered to himself, sitting back onto his feet, placing more weight on them. He picked up one of his clawed hands that were dug into the sand, shaking it off before placing it on the human's cheek, brushing the tears away. Katsuki could feel his own eyes start to burn, ears flicking back as the human curled into his hand, "Shit...I don't want to fight you either..." The little human let out a relieved sob, chest quivering under the oversized chest plate the human had. Katsuki rumbled an alien-like purr, bumping their foreheads together, eyes closed. They're so caught up with each other, that they don't hear the thundering footsteps coming closer.

They noticed him too late. A shadow loomed over them, a feral, guttural roar coming from a soldier covered in Iro plant powder, splatters of all different bright colors, pink, green, blue, yellow, red, covered the man head-to-toe, even his face was covered. The man's eyes were completely covered in pink powder, foamy tears leaking out of his nose and eyes. His tongue was a toxic green color, and the insides of his mouth were bright yellow. Foam leaked out of the sides of his mouth, stained various colors.

Izuku watched with abject horror as the man raised a large trident, black in color with black sacs with yellow insides grown against the base of the spears on the trident into the air, another earth-shaking roar echoing from the man, a splatter of foam coming with it. With a rough shove, the man thrust the black trident down, and Izuku watched in silent horror, eyes flickering up towards the blond's eyes, carmine eyes wide as the spears of the trident stabbed through his chest. Izuku watched as the spears hit the other side of his chest, skin pulling taut around the sharp edges as they bugled through the blond's chest, before slashing through, thick blue blood splattering onto his Xialyuth chest plate. It was silent for a moment when Izuku realized the side-effect Iro plant powder had on humans.

It made them wild, and lose all knowledge of what was good and what was bad. Like hungry beasts, who live for the fight, and die for the fight, the Iro plant powder took over their brains and made everything a target. They fight themselves till the virus takes over, and then they die, becoming fertilizer for new Iro plants, that use the body which they inhabit to plant their seeds and help them grow.

Izuku's ears ring as the blond screams, a guttural, echoing scream. It makes Izuku's heart stab into his ribcage, beating loudly like ancient drums. He could feel the blood ooze onto the sand and onto his hands, and he could do nothing. Izuku watched as the human dug the trident in deeper, smashing against his chest plate. Izuku didn't think anything would happen until the Xialyuth started to snap and crack against the trident.

"F-FUCK! Stop, don't-agh, hurt him!" Katsuki screamed, trying to push up against the trident to protect Izuku. The man above only warbles a few more screams, arms stabbing the trident deeper and deeper through his chest. Katsuki could feel everything, his body feeling like it was on fire and it was on ice at the same time. Blood splattered against the small human's face, who watched in blatant horror, unable to do anything. "Fuck!" Katsuki screeched as the trident spears made contact with the small human's chest plate again and again. He could feel his strength slowly start to leave him, arms wobbling under his weight.

With a final push, the trident shattered the armor and stabbed through the little human's heart and chest. Katsuki watched as the spears tore away the thin fabric the human had underneath the plate and then dug into the soft freckled skin. The human lurched upwards, face and mouth twisted into a soundless scream as the trident speared through the ground. Katsuki screamed, unable to pull the trident out. Tears spilled down his blood-soaked face, running a murky blue as red blood spilled against the blue sand, standing out. "No, no! Fuck- NO!" Katsuki screamed. His eyes catch a small nametag sewn into the little human's shirt, eyes catching the words 'Deku.'

Katsuki whips his head back to the little human, who is slowly starting to fade, coughing and hacking up red blood. "No, no, no...C'mon- NO! Deku, please, no," Katsuki chants, tears blurring his vision, watching those beautiful little pools of jade dim. A wobbly, bloody smile quivers on Deku's face, eyes soft and kind. "S-..sorry, K-K'cc..n," Deku whispers, and Katsuki can't breathe. Izuku goes limp, dead eyes staring up at him as he screams, thrashing and digging the trident further into his body. His screams are easily hidden by the echoing sounds of battle, tears spilling down his face as his body starts to fade. His strength fully leaves him, collapsing over Deku's body. Katsuki spares one last glance up at Izuku's face, shaking hand tracing the freckled cheeks before he fades into darkness.

"Ne...Kacchan?" Izuku asks softly, swinging his feet. Katsuki grunts, staring at the sunset. "Do...you think heaven has ice cream?" Izuku asks, a pout on his face. Katsuki stares at his lover blankly, wondering why he got stuck in the afterlife with such a dumbass.

"Let's go find out, dumbass,"

"YAY!"
