Chapter Text
Purpled walked down the new street, dogchamp by his side, trying to memorize the lay out and notice any stores he might be able to steal from, as well as any promising alley ways they might hold his new living hole.
Purpled had been living on the streets for a good while, parents abandoned him for one reason or another, and then his older sibling got tired of supporting the both of them. He held no grudge there, it was hard enough keeping one person alive on the streets, and two would be nearly impossible. Every man for himself out here now.. and then of course he found his beloved Dogchamp. He just appeared by his side one night and then didn't leave, but it was nice to have a companion.
The blonde teen had had to leave the old town a few days ago. A couple of people caught him stealing from a shop, and then fighting some random kid over scraps of food. After that the people living there grew to recognize and be suspicious of him, thus making it too difficult to steal and forcing him to move on. This place was more like a city, and was rather big, so with any luck it would take longer for people to notice or care about his existence.
He felt a raindrop plop on his nose.
He ducked into the nearest alley and found a cardboard box that was just big enough for Purpled to squish himself into. Dogchamp had to sit in the rain, but he didn't seem to mind. He sighed in annoyance and pulled his purple hoodie a bit tighter around him, though it really didn't do much to protect him from the cold and wind that had picked up with the rain.
And now there was lightning too. How lovely. He realized the storm was going to continue for a while, so he allowed himself to fall into a light sleep.

Purpled woke up and realized the rain stopped. The ground was still wet and had puddles scattered around, but no reason he couldn't continue his exploration of the city.
He crawled out of his box and continued his search, dogchamp right by his side as always. The sun was setting now, if he had to guess it was probably around 7:30pm, give or take about thirty minutes. He noticed a bakery and a school, both of which tended to throw out a lot of food. The purple-eyed teen didn't like dumpster diving as much as stealing, but sometimes he found nice things and it was less risky.
He was vaguely aware of his cramping from hunger, mentally noting down that he'd have to get food for him, and probably Dogchamp as well tomorrow. He saw a sort of market place with all the stands out, which would also be a promising place to steal from.
Eventually he walked apon a run-down building and he went down the alley way. Sure enough there was a small hole under the building. Purpled considered checking inside, but he wouldn't be able to reach the windows and the door was probably locked. He decided he'd wait for less people to be out and then check the door, but for now the hole was sufficient.
Eventually the sun was set and the people were gone. He tested the lock on the door, and it was indeed locked. There wasn't anything stopping him from picking them lock, but he didn't particularly feel like it, and the hole was good enough. Purpled debated stealing from a home tonight rather than a shop tomorrow, and quickly shut the thought down. He was too tired from the trip to the new city, and it was too risky for the first day.
He settled back down in his designated living hole and fell asleep with a now mostly-dry Dogchamp curled by his side.
