- Hank is an absolute gentleman. He won’t pressure you or rush you at all.
- When silence naturally settles between you and Hank, and you both take a breath to speak at the same time, you glance at each other…and then burst into shy laughter.
- You stay-in to cook together a lot. It’s comforting to be home and in a quiet space together, especially for Hank when he’s so often wrapped up with the club.
- Cooking is a love language for Hank and he likes to take you to local markets to get fresh ingredients - smelling herbs, testing various peppers and their heat levels, selecting the ripest mangos and avocados, etc.
- Offering Hank a bite of whatever you’re cooking. And if the food spills onto his shirt/chin, wiping it away with your thumb affectionately with a little smile.
- All the bear hugs you could ever want!!! Morning hugs, goodbye hugs, comfort-after-a-shitty-day hugs, just-because hugs. Hugging him from behind in the morning. Hank scooping you up into a crushing hug when he hasn’t seen you for a while. Lots and lots of hugs!!
- Hank will buy twice as many hoodies because he loves it when you steal them (you’re swimming in them!). He likes seeing you wear them, knowing that you feel comforted.
- Hank is a low-drama guy and being in a relationship with him is incredibly comforting and soothing. You are rock solid sure of him and he’s 100% sure of you.
- If you ever worry that he’ll leave you, all you have to do is take one look at Hank and the way he looks back at you??? with the biggest, softest, sweetest hearteyes??? Oh yeah. This man is definitely in it for the long haul. No doubt about it.
- Good luck getting Hank jealous. He trusts you too much for that.
- So don’t bother trying to flirt with someone else to get a rise out of him because Hank won’t even blink. If you decided that you weren’t happy in your relationship with him, Hank would understand if you sought love somewhere else
- (though it would absolutely break his heart, please don’t do that to him!!!)
- If you tried to make Hank jealous to toy with him, he would totally see your bluff ten miles away. And he’d just give a little smile and shake his head like, baby, you know better than that and I’m not falling for it.
- However
- Hank has a zero tolerance policy for anyone coming onto you in a way that is clearly unwanted and/or makes you uncomfortable. There WILL be violence.
- The next time you see the offender, they will be sporting significant bruises and they won’t dare look your way.
- There was only one time that Hank lost his temper around you. He was tired and stressed after club business. He’d had a bad day. And he snapped at you.
- When you flinched, it destroyed Hank inside. He despised himself for making you scared of him. So he walked out and went for a very long motorcycle ride.
- Several hours later, Hank returned quietly and asks if he may sit next to you. When you allow him to, he shelters your hand in both of his and apologizes, for the bottom of his heart, for snapping at you. He never meant to scare you and he’s so sorry that he unsettled you that way. He never, ever wants you to be scared of him.
- Hank will never raise his voice around you, or to you, again. If he starts to get angry over something, he’ll cut himself off and leave right away. Your trust is invaluable to him.
- Hank will always be ready and willing to fix things around your home or do errands for you. When he doesn’t know what to say or do to express how much he’s crazy in love with you, he’ll get a little fidgety and then offer to fix your rain gutters.
- He’s a little bashful with words of affirmation - both giving and receiving.
- When you praise him, he’ll turn VERY red and get tongue-tied. So please continue doing it! And gently tease him and kiss his cheek and tell him how absolutely adorable he is right now. It makes him blushy for days.
- Most of Hank’s praise is already clearly written on his face when he looks at you because he can’t believe you’re his so he gets a little jumbled up.
- First thing in the morning, when you’re sleepy with your messy bedhead and oversized t-shirt, Hank will touch your cheek and rasp, “You’re perfect.”
- When he stumbles on you dancing in the kitchen all by yourself, he’ll laugh a little and watch you. “You’re so fucking cute, baby.”
- When you’re cooking side by side, your fingers sticky with tomato juice, the humidity of the kitchen making you a little sweaty, and Hank will look over, brushing his knuckles across her cheekbone with a whispered, “I love you.”
- When he praises you, it’s during the most mundane, normal moments of life and his words pop out of nowhere, leaving the greatest impact.
- Your Thursdays will be spent with Hank and his mom, having dinner at her place. When Hank can’t come, he’s incredibly grateful to you for going anyway and keeping his mom company.
- Hank loves it when the two of you are watching a movie together and you sit with your back tucked into his side, pulling his arm over your shoulder. He gets to kiss the top of your head and hold you.
- 70/30 of you being the little spoon or the big spoon. Of course Hank loves it when you’re the little spoon because he’s fiercely protective of you.
- But there is something very soothing and sweet to turn big ol’ teddy bear Hank into the little spoon.
- It always brings a smile to his face when you press a kiss between his shoulder blades or the back of his neck.
- Hank’s favorite thing in the world is when he comes home to find you fast asleep in bed. And when he slips in beside you with a kiss to your cheek, he’ll scoop you up and drape you on top of him.
- He loves the way you nuzzle into his neck with a little hum and the full-body contact the position affords. He loves rearranging your limbs for maximum cuddle capacity - hitching your leg over his hip, wrapping your arm around his shoulders, resting his hands in the curve of your waist.
- Even though you’re nervous to meet Hank’s mom for the first time, she loves you ON SIGHT.
- And you become close friends which Hank is absolutely delighted to see.
- You and Hank’s mom gush over his baby pictures (he had the chubbiest cheeks when he was a kid!) and it makes Hank want to crawl under the table (but he’s still smiling).
- You bring out the playful side of Hank. He doesn’t show it very often but when the two of you are alone together, he feels safe and happy enough to tease and tickle and smother you in kisses.
- When Hank considers getting a new tattoo, he asks your opinion on subject matter and placement and he will take your feedback very seriously.
- Hank really hates letting you see him when he’s beat up. He knows it worries you and he doesn’t like to upset you.
- But when Hank tried to hide it from you one time, you gave him a verbal tongue lashing like there was no tomorrow. So he tells you now, begrudgingly.
- He will look a little sheepish about it when you see him. Just reassure Hank that you’re grateful to see him alive and whole by taking his face in your hands and pulling him down to your level to kiss his forehead. It will be a huge relief to him.
- There are definitely a few times when Hank shows up on your doorstep in the middle of the night looking like hell, all battered and bruised. But he needed to know you’re okay. He needed to see you after the hellish day he’d had.
- And you clean him up the best you can, peppering in little kisses here and there. It usually ends with the two of you hugging the shit out of each other.
- He is ALWAYS awake before you are and he brings you coffee/tea in bed.
- Hank teaches you how to defend yourself, in case he’s not there. He wants you to know how to use a gun and where to drive a knife into an attacker for maximum damage.
- Hank is busting-his-buttons proud of you and he has TOTALLY bragged about you to his MC brothers.
- He doesn’t like taking you to the clubhouse very often though. It’s rough around the edges and he wants better for you.
- But sometimes you can coax him into taking you along and you can definitely feel him keeping an eye on you the entire time.
- He will absolutely let you beat him at pool. Or any game for that matter.
- Hank is the biggest pushover softie when it comes to you and you know it.
- Sometimes, because of club business, Hank misses birthdays or anniversaries or other holidays. And he feels so, so bad about it that he tries to make it up to you ASAP by cooking you a meal and bringing you flowers.
- When it comes time for Hank to meet your family/friends, he’s so polite and he’s. very. quiet. He realizes your family/friends might not think he’s a good match for you but he really wants to prove that he’ll treat you right.
- He’s not really a charmer and small talk isn’t his thing either. So he defaults to good manners, showing respect, and generally keeping his mouth shut.
- But that can be off-putting for some people - this big, burly dude sitting there silent as death apart from a handful of responses that are rather sparsely worded.
- Please rescue him. He is so nervous but he’s doing a really, really good job of hiding it the best he can.
- After some time has passed, Hank manages to make connections with your family/friends in a more private manner.
- He remembers things your family member said they liked and he brings it up, asks them questions about it.
- When your friend mentions a leaky faucet in their apartment, he offers to fix it.
- If there are children in your life (nieces, nephews, cousins, etc), it takes no time at all for them to realize they can climb all over Hank. He has no capacity to deny children their fun.
- If you have pets in your life, it’s the most precious thing in the world to see Hank sitting there as unobtrusively as he can, endeavoring to earn their trust through treats and quiet words of encouragement.
- Hank LOVES taking bubble baths with you. It’s like this cozy little safe haven of nothing but the purest joy. He gets to hold you, and your skin smells so good, and the bubbles add an extra playful dynamic to indulge in.
