Chapter Text
The journey to Vale was going to be a three-day affair. The only inter-kingdom airport in Menagerie was at Kuo Kuana, so you and Blake had an hour-long flight before you even got to leave the continent. Direct flights between Vale and Menagerie existed, but they were 18 hours long. You loathed being trapped in cramped spaces, especially for that long. It’s also something you and Blake have common. So, instead of going straight to Vale, the two of you had two 9-hour flights with a two-night layover in Mistral.
Before, it would’ve have made your skin crawl to share the same air as her and the thought of you and Blake agreeing on anything would have made you laugh. Now, you were both waiting anxiously as the clerk checked if there was any way you could sit together. Unfortunately, when you booked your flights, all the planes were fully packed as people returned from vacation or were traveling for school or work. You try to look on the bright side as you both walk away in disappointment. At least, you and Blake would be sharing a hotel room once you landed in Mistral. You had both made calls to your parents about cancelling one of your reservations when you “bumped into each other at the airport” with the excuse that Mistral wasn’t the safest place for solo travelers. There was some teasing on their end, still unaware of the change in your relationship, but nevertheless; they agreed.
The excuse was partially true; though Mistral had made great strides in their political and economic reforms, the criminal element remained just as strong. Either through corruption or holes in Mistralian legal system, most of the high-profile criminals evaded major jail time. It’s an unspoken truth that several elite families that could trace their lineage back to the former nobility of Mistral were the ones truly in charge of the country, just as they were when Mistral was still a monarchy. The son of an ambassador and the daughter of the prime minster of Menagerie would be a lucrative opportunity to many, but thankfully the better part of your lives is kept far from the limelight. Besides, it wasn’t like you planned on leaving the hotel anyways. Neither of you knew how much free time you would have once you got to Beacon, so you planned to spend as much time together before then.
You and Blake looked around the terminal for anywhere to sit while you waited to board. The place was crowded with, unsurprisingly, almost entirely Faunus, though the rare human could be found here and there. You could tell that some people were watching you and Blake. With her cat ears hidden underneath her bow, you appeared to be a completely human couple. Usually, humans on Menagerie were there for work or because they had Faunus relatives or they were dating a Faunus, which was true for you, but those staring and glaring didn’t know that. Honestly, it wasn’t anything you weren’t used to growing up on Menagerie and they definitely couldn’t compare to the treatment Adam and his ilk gave you. Some, however, were looks of jealousy or envy, which you couldn’t blame them for. You steal a glance at your girlfriend as she brushes some hair back behind her ear.
Dressed in a black vest and a white shirt that hugged her bust nicely and exposed her toned stomach; white shorts clinging to a shapely rear that led to black stockings that faded to purple as they went down her long legs. Her black hair streaking down to her waist, she was going get stares no matter where she went. Blake, in her typical fashion, didn’t seem bothered or even seem to notice. At least that’s what it appeared like to those that didn’t know her. You could see the subtle way her amber eyes scanned the room, taking note of each person around her. Her weight shifting from side to side, ever so slightly, ready to fight or flight depending on the situation. It probably bothered her seeing the somewhat open disdain towards humans that some of her fellow Faunus held. You take her hand in yours and squeeze gently. She squeezes back and you could see her shoulders loosen slightly. She lets out a small exhale before smiling at you softly.
You and Blake find an empty space of floor away from the crowds and sit down, backs to the wall. Blake rests her head on your shoulder as she pulls out a book. You lean your head onto hers, slipping an arm around her waist as you pull out your phone. Minutes pass as you occasionally make whispered comments which causes her to softly laugh.
Eventually, the airport staff begin ushering people onto the plane. Blake sits up, stretching a bit to get ready for the long flight ahead. When she catches you staring, the right part of her lips curl in a familiar smirk before blowing you a kiss with a wink. Earlier, you and Blake had looked for a private place to ‘entertain’ yourselves, but all the bathrooms had lines of people waiting outside of them and all the closets locked. It was far from the only way the two of you had fun together, but it was definitely your favorite. Blake ends up boarding before you and you spot her as you make your way to your seat. Next to her are two girls talking animatedly to each other, Dog Faunus by the looks of the ears sticking out of their hair. One of Blake’s eyes twitches as she tries to read her book, but then one of the girls elbows her unknowingly as she loudly squeals. You doubt Blake even notices you passing her as she focuses on trying to set the girls ablaze with her glare. You find your seat next to a couple of older horned Faunus and after some light conversation, you find out they’re married with family in Mistral that they’re planning on visiting. You’re unsure of what kind Faunus they are, but you don’t really care enough to ask. Before the plane takes off, you send a message to Blake, telling her to enjoy the flight. She replies with a gif of a tea kettle beginning to boil, steaming bursting of the spout. You let out a chuckle as you put your phone away and the plane begins leaving the terminal.
The loud, guttural snoring piercing through your earbuds lets you know exactly what kind of Faunus the couple are. Unfortunately, the level of music required to drown out the Buffalo Faunus beside you would damage your hearing and even then, it’s still tempting. You spend hours trying to ignore the noise to little avail. You bury your face in your hands, quietly wondering what you had done to deserve this when someone taps you on your shoulder.
“Enjoying the flight?”
You inhale deeply before lifting your eyes to meet Blake’s as she stands in the aisle next to you, a smirk on her lips. A particularly loud snore answers for you.
“Are you?”
The teasing smiles fades.
“They haven’t stopped talking. It’s been hours and they’re still talking.”
“What are they talking about?”
“I don’t know!”
The outburst draws the attention of nearby passengers and causes the couple next to jolt for a moment before they settle, the loud snoring return so thereafter. Blake looks around sheepishly before lowering her arms and apologizing, all the while you fight back your laughter.
“I don’t know.” She says quietly. “They’ll start talking about one thing before getting sidetracked and moving onto another. Sometimes they will literally just repeat themselves, over and over again.”
“Well, I got a pair of ear plugs if you want to try sleeping. Gods know I’m not going t- “
As if to emphasize your point, one of the Buffalo Faunus lets out a heaving snort. You look back at Blake, whose smug expression has returned, letting you know that at least someone was enjoying your situation.
“It’s fine. I think a bathroom break might help me relax though.”
You raise an eyebrow, but she’s already walking away, hips swaying as she goes. If her tone hadn’t made it clear, that did. You wait for few minutes before glancing around and heading to the bathroom.
As soon as you open the door, Blake’s lips are on yours and you barely manage to shut the door behind you. One of her hands grabs a fistful of your shirt while the other locks the door behind you. The tight space forces you closer together as you lift Blake up by her ass, the hands pressing into her round flesh separated only by her white shorts. Blake wraps her legs around you as she slides her hands up to fist your hair. Your tongues wrestle against each other as you set Blake down onto the tiny sink, barely providing enough space for her to sit. She pulls away slightly, catching your lower lip and biting down hard before letting go.
“Fuck.” Despite the pain, the word comes out with a soft smile that Blake reciprocates.
She unbuttons her shorts and slides them down her black and purple stockings while you loosen your belt and unzip your jeans. Her hand reaches in and fishes your cock free, lining it up to her wet hole. You lean in, hands pressed against the wall on either side of her, as her golden orbs stare into you. You stare back as you slowly push forward, sliding into her almost delicately. Her breathing slows, becoming heavier as you go deeper and deeper until you’re buried to the hilt. Blake wraps her arms around you, holding you close as you begin a slow steady rhythm. You relish in the feeling of her embrace, the warm sensation spilling into your very soul as your chests rise and fall in unison. You feel every gasp you pull from her lips, soft breath brushing against your ear as you touch the deepest parts of her over and over. She moans as you suck on her neck before you press your face against her nape, just breathing her in. The nightshade that was her namesake has a bitter off-putting smell and it was mostly known for its use as poison which earned its nickname as “The Deadly Nightshade.” But this flower had a different scent.
It's a scent that reminds you of a condo by the beach.
Blake’s breathing picks up, gasping into your ear as you begin thrusting faster, slamming into her. One of your hands grips her waist as you slide your other arm behind her neck, bracing her head from the wall.
It reminds you of lazy days spent on the couch, her head in your lap as she reads her book while you watched T.V.
Blake’s hands slide under your shirt, her nails raking up and down your back as she pleads you not to stop, to keep going. Her legs lock around you, pressing you tighter against her.
It reminds you of amber eyes, framed by black hair, that glow brighter in the light of the moon as she laughs at you, only for her stop as the right side of her lips curl in a familiar smirk, promising you another night of passion.
Using the arm you’re bracing Blake’s head with, you reach around and cover her mouth as your rhythm intensifies more. The grunts that slip through your gritted teeth are masked by the sounds of the engines while you feel her muffled screams against your palm. Her walls squeeze around you, her limbs tightening against you as she bites down on your hand.
It reminded you of her.
With a final deep thrust, you replace your hand with your mouth, swallowing Blake’s screams of ecstasy as you fill her your seed. You continue thrusting softly as your both ride out your climaxes, cupping each other’s faces as your kiss becomes less sensual, but no less affectionate. You hold each other close, her arms wrapped around your neck and your hands now at her waist. Your length still inside her, you stay still, content to just enjoy a moment with the girl you love.
Once you’ve both calm down, Blake pulls away to look at you.
“Definitely can sleep through the rest of this flight now.”
“Glad to be of service.”
You both laugh and you’re about to slide out of her when the plane begins to rock. You brace yourself against the wall while Blake clings to you. After the shaking subsides, the voice of the captain filters through the intercom.
“Attention passengers, we’re going to be experiencing some turbulence and ask that you return to your seats and remain seated while the light is on. Thank you.”
Once both of you calm down, you start putting your clothing back into place. You peek outside before stepping out with Blake’s arms around you for support, her legs still shaky. She’s leaning against you, panting heavily when a flight attendant steps through the curtained doorway.
“Oh my, what happened?”
“Oh, uh. She got stuck in the bathroom during the turbulence and got a bit banged up. I went to check on her after it all stopped.”
“Aw, that’s sweet.” Her attention turns to Blake. “Are you ok?”
“I’m fine, it was a little rough, but nothing I couldn't handle.” The slight curl of her lips makes you quirk an eyebrow which she responds with a wink.
I’ll remember that, Blake.
“I’m glad to hear that.” The attendant either didn’t catch the double entendre or chose to ignore it. “Would you like me to help you to your seats?”
“I appreciate that, but we actually couldn’t get seats next to each other, but I know where hers is.”
“Hmm, I can see if any of the solo passengers nearby are willing to switch with you for the rest of flight, did you bring any carry-ons?”
With the flight attendant’s help, you’re able to get the person across the aisle from Blake to switch with you. The fact the turbulence had awoken the Buffalo couple helps alleviate your guilt for the snore fest they might face later. You set Blake down in her seat and kiss her forehead as she begins drifting off for the rest of the flight, the two yapping dog Faunus from earlier already asleep. You sit down in your new seat and watch as Blake subconsciously curls up in her seat before pulling a blanket out from your backpack and draping it over her. She snuggles into it, letting out a soft exhale as she pulls the soft fabric to her mouth. You lean back and check the onboard clock on your watch. You still have a few hours before you land in Mistral, more than enough time to get a nap in, especially when you don’t nearly have as noisy neighbors.
You sleep through the rest of the flight with ease, the flight attendant from earlier, waking you and Blake up before the plane begins its decent. The offboarding process is soon underway with you and Blake eager to escape the crowd. The way to collect your luggage was uneventful and you soon stepped out into the night air of Gladiolus. It wasn’t too late, around 8pm, but you and Blake were eager to make it to the hotel and relax. A black SUV was waiting for you, its driver was well-dressed, especially considering it was robotic in nature. A short ride later and you both arrived at your hotel, a luxurious place in the richer part of town. Frankly, it seemed a bit much for just a two-night stay, but your families had insisted for safety reasons.
The Golden Fleece was known for its discretion and security, their clientele consisting of those with the wealth or influence to afford the comforts it provided. The driver and the car being one of them. Another was the spinning antenna towers at various parts of the property. A few years ago, a wealthy member of the Mistralian Council was photographed as he was leaving the Golden Fleece. Nothing particularly controversial, but it was breach in the anonymity that the hotel proudly promised to its clients. In the hours after the photo’s publication, these towers were built and they scrambled any and all recording equipment on the property aside from those authorized by the hotel. The reporter who had taken the photo quietly resigned and then disappeared from public view. It was a clear message about how serious the Golden Fleece was about its image and promise. A promise it has maintained ever since.
With that in mind, you do feel safer, but are also worried about who else you might be sharing the property with. Taking Blake’s hand in yours, you walk into the extravagant lobby. The floor is made of marble and darkened to a rich onyx with golden accents detailing your path. White Marble pillars wreathed in fine cloth stretch to the ceiling which is adorned with shining lights. The surrounding furniture and statues accentuate the image of wealth and luxury. The lobby is empty aside from the staff standing nearby. The clerk at the front desk is dressed in a white toga, her dark hair done in a done in an ornate fashion with a wreath crown. She is a lovely sight, but one meant to distract you. You notice the way her sharp eyes scan both you and Blake with a practiced ease. The almost imperceptible switch in her demeanor, how her physique is far too refined and maintained for someone hired solely for desk work. The amused grin with her greeting is a sign that both of you understand that neither you nor Blake are a threat.
You and Blake both receive an electronic bracelet which allows you to access your room along with all the other public facilities of the hotel. With that, you and Blake head to your room, passing through mostly empty hallways. The few people you encounter pay you no mind, but you do recognize some of them, mainly the politicians and celebrities. When you finally get to your room, Blake immediately hops in the shower. The thought of joining her crosses your mind, but you’re both a bit tired and decide against it. You unpack only what you might need tomorrow before connecting to the hotel’s network and sending a message to your parents to let them know that you and Blake are in your room safe and sound. You step over to the window to stare at the city landscape, the bright lights and skyscrapers holding a different beauty than the blue waves crashing onto white sand that you’ve enjoyed this past summer. A sense of melancholy finds you as you watch cars zip around on the streets below. You don’t know what to expect when you get to Vale, having lived in Menagerie for practically your whole life. The land of your birth was simply that, the land of your birth. It did not have the beaches you learned to swim in as a kid, nor the trails you hiked with your family growing up. It did not have the schools, the friends, the family, it held no memories nor any place in your life aside from line on your passport and birth certificate. It was not home.
The feeling of arms curling around your waist frees you from your thoughts as Blake presses herself into your back, still wet from her shower, you feel her warmth all the same. Placing your hands atop of hers, feeling a small smile escape as you allow yourself to just be held. It might not be home, but with her beside you, it could be.
