I'm Not Ticklish!

Summary:

Steve is adamant he's not ticklish. Bucky disagrees.

Notes:

Prompts were "I'm not ticklish, who do you think I am?" And "Can you... tickle me?"

Work Text:

"I could definitely beat the Loch Ness Monster in a fight!" Steve said indignantly, gesturing to his laptop.

"With your asthmatic breathing ability on land I doubt you could hold your breath long underwater..." Bucky smirked, not taking his eyes off the television for a second.

Steve had found himself down a rabbit hole of '___ vs Captain America' blogs. Sites rating different creatures on how they would fare fighting America's favourite hero.

"Hey, they superjuiced every weakness out of me!" Steve justified. "I could take anyone."

"Ok first of all, please never say the phrase 'super juiced' again." He shuddered as he said it. "Second, I know for a fact you have one very big weakness."

Steve's cheeks reddened slightly.

"And thiiiiird~" He winked. "We both know you can't take me."

Steve scoffed. "Of course I can."

"Riiiiiight." Bucky rolled his eyes.

"What's that supposed to mean??"

"You know exactly what I'm talking about, Captain Giggles."

Steve could feel his face burning up. "I don't think I do."

Bucky moved closer, head craning to look at the laptop. "Is the tickle monster on that list? Cause there's a creature you'd lose horribly to."

“I’m not ticklish, who do you think I am?” Steve grumbled, a smile twitching at the sides of his lips.

"Oh bullshit!" Bucky guffawed.

"I'm nohot!"

"I thought I was the one with memory loss. You getting old, grandpa?"

"It's child's play. I'm not a child."

"Yeah. Like I said. Grandpa."

Steve glared, before returning to his list.

He let out what could only be described as a *MIRP*, before slamming the laptop lid and staring at the wall for several seconds.

"What was that?" Bucky gave him a weird, questioning look.

"Nothing!" Steve responded a little too quickly.

Bucky lunged for him, grappling for the laptop.

"Let me see!" Bucky grinned.

"No!"

"Come onnnn!"

"No!!"

The pair wrestled for a while before Bucky finally got a solid grip on the device and opening it up.

'Captain America vs Tickle Monster - Cap Loses'
"Ohhh." Bucky smirked, chuckles bubbling from his chest. "They called you out HARD on this one buddy."

"Shut it Buck..." Steve groaned shyly, hands moving over his eyes.

"Though our beloved hero has more strengths than we can count," Bucky said in his best announcer voice, "He has to have a least one weakness. And look at him, there is no doubt those rock-hard abs are adorably ticklish."

"Shut up shut up shut up!" Steve shook his head back and forth.

Bucky continued. "This would be a completely one sided fight, Tickle Monster reigning victorious, and poor Cap giggling on the floor."

"They don't know what they're talking about."

Bucky let out a bark of laughter. "Oh they don't do they?"

Steve shook his head.

"Let's prove it then."

Bucky launched on top of his best friend, swiftly pinning one arm above his head and using the other to poke and prod in Steve's poor armpits.

"NOHOHOHOHO BUCKY!" He screeched, wriggling as best he could under the weight of the supersoldier.

"I'm not Bucky!" He grinned. "I'm your greatest nemesis, the Tickle Monster!"

"CUHUHUT IHIT OHOHOUT!" Steve squealed between sets of giggles.

"Do you submit?!" Bucky grinned, using his fingers to hook the inside of Steve's armpits and his thumbs to rub circles on the side of his pec in a relentless tickle grip.

"NEHEHEHEVER!"

"Okaaay!"

Bucky continued his merciless attack on Steve's upper body, transitioning to tickly massages up and down the superhero's ribs.

"You know buddy," Bucky smiled endearingly at the mess beneath him, "Ya kind of have to *fight* back in order for this to count as a *fight*."

"I CAHAHAN'T!" Steve begged, his free hand doing it's best to cover his armpits, ribs and face all at once.

Spoiler: it wasn't working.

"Alright, I'd say that's a pretty clear victory for one T. Monster." Bucky beamed heroically.

Steve huffed in gallons of glorious oxygen, before giving his friend a playful glare.

"You're a jerk."

"Oh please, you love it when I tickle you." Bucky said offhandedly.

Steve's body froze up, a flustered smile breaking out on his face. "I do nottttt."

"Right." Bucky smirked. "The fact that you barely tried to stop me definitely backs you up on that."

"I tried!" Steve gave him a playful shove, and not a very powerful one due to Bucky still sitting on his hips.

"And the way you get all flustered and smiley when tickling is even mentioned means nothing huh?"

"It's embarrassing!" Steve groaned, hands covering his now beet-red face.

"The way you absolutely light up when I do cave in to your taunting."

"I never ask for t-... those things!"

"And I know you love how up close and personal it is. Like a giggly cuddle, huh pal?"

"Shuhut up Buhuhucky..." Steve was half curled up by this point.

Bucky chuckled, ruffling his mate's hair. "Alright I reckon I've teased you enough."

There was a pause.

A silent moment.

Then;

“Can you… tickle me?”

Those four simple words from a very flustered Steve was all it took for Bucky to break into an unbearably teasy grin, almost endearing in nature.

"Of course, you punk."
