Chapter Text
SeokJin twirls the pen in his fingers. In this room, it is just him, his books and his thoughts alone. He's drained, fatigued with how long he has himself locked in his office. He has no concept of time in this place. Someone might think he's contemplating life, But no one should be fooled. SeokJin slips back, one of his leg is hiked on the desk, the other spread aside. It gives off a dismissing attitude. SeokJin rotates on the chair. Again. And again.
Behind his worn eyes is a calculating gaze aimed intently at the door. It's mind wrenching, and exhausting his sight of vision. SeokJin thinks he can't go on any longer fixating on the door, but his situation demands more from him. He swiftly slips the pencil into the can, eyes lingering on the frame, glaringly apparent how worked up he is.
There are secrets scattered at every inch. Most of them, SeokJin stashed them here. Some belong to their family. Some belong to their bloodline.
Yet, one of them is impossible to ignore. The glaringly obvious document sits on his desk. To others, it may seem harmless. To SeokJin, it mocks him. The Heir cannot begin from where it takes off from. But he knows that it is the root of all causes, the hammer to the nail of his coffin, the biggest blow to his pride. It's as white as paper can be and a as gold as the sun is. One glance at its cursive words makes his head pulsate with rage.
In short, Kim SeokJin is fucked. If anyone asks, it's not his fault. This is just one of those times when he needs to deliberately lock himself in a confined space. Until he finds a slip out, he's not getting out. SeokJin lowers his head onto his fist. He broods incessantly as he searches for loopholes, an escape, anything out of this whole fiasco to get back to his old self.
He's of course, brilliant. He'll find a way. He's his family's prodigy, the Alpha heir of a renowned business. The world worships the steps he takes, glorifies his existence and fawn over his out of the world beauty. Kim SeokJin never loses.
The man throws his head back against his chair to relieve some stress off his shoulders when he comes up with nothing.
If his veins weren't seething with outrageousness, he might have been in a clearer state to assess his mistakes. Why? SeokJin wondered this plenty of times to have his tongue fall flat. He thinks hard. How could he, the immaculate man, adored and loved and cherished by people around him, not have his way.
Or rather, cannot be let to make his way. That can't be right. SeokJin strives to achieve anything he sets his mind on. To not give him what he wants is a flaw in the universe.
It's actually everything he deserves.
SeokJin's eyes linger at the file, conflicted whether to open it or shred it to pieces. Like the innocent paper that it is, the longer he ignores, the harder it is to not look. Painfully, his eyes cascade over it. It's impossible to put his emotions into words, but SeokJin hasn't felt this kind of irritability in years.
He picks the document and unfolds it on his lap. SeokJin rubs his temples hard. His position in the monopoly world already made sure he's unachievable, but to be reduced to a fucking-
It's a life changing error. One that SeokJin cannot coax his way out of, nor can he force it away. His father will certainly not bail him from this. It means he's on his own. Like always, it will be him and his cunning plans that will get him out. His courage deters as time moves, until he's discarding the file on the shelf, no longer curious about it.
Subconsciously, he curses him again because he is really succeeding in giving him a hard time. He is really succeeding in convincing SeokJin to take drastic measures. Soon, he'll come to a conclusion, an exit. He's brilliant enough to find one. And he's desperate enough to make it happen.
But for now? He's shackled, helpless and desperately in need of a scooping hand. He can't stay and ponder over it, or else his temper will shoot. But he cant face the outside either. The heir's fingers scratch his chin as he furrows his brow in concentration. Where did he go wrong?
SeokJin hardly ever loses. There are miniscule instances where he did lose, and god did those people suffer. But this isn't one of those situations. He tells himself this could have been worse. So worse. He's ruined.
His life, freedom and his dignity is at stake because of ONE man. His dream to travel, to explore, to enjoy his thirties at its height, were all burnt to ashes in a week. SeokJin slams his fist onto the wood, pain be damned. He's forever done. May his ashes of youth rest in peace.
But that vile piece of shit.
The Alpha curls his lips in a snarl. His intelligence is no match, but it seems he has found himself a competent Rival.
Shadow looms over his perfectly crafted face, giving him an eerie touch and a pretense of the devil.
SeokJin has ninety nine problems but one of them is proving to be the bane of his existence. It's his recent source of misery and the cruelest joke life has ever thrusted upon him. Jin throws the file away, grits his teeth in what can only be fury.
Fucking Jung Hoseok.
"Tell me again," Yoongi presses two fingers against his lips. His friend's voice brings him back to reality. The elder blinks his eyes, accommodating the lights to Yoongi's penthouse. around his awards. Yoongi disperses in thought. Carelessly soothes over and over his chin and back to the bow of his lips. He's blown away alright. That's one way to describe Yoongi's expression. Yoongi turns to his mate, who's equally looking confused, yet puts an image of at least being invested in the elder's narratives.
SeokJin gives him time to recover. It's what a good friend would do.Yoongii's patience is abundant when it comes to him. Namjoon shows great listening ears and together, they are excellent advisers regarding life.
His decision to seek help from them stems from his past with Yoongi. Being college buddies carries its benefits. The elder cries his frustrations to his friends and his friends are very… sympathetic.
The Alpha- or Yoongi takes a second to form an answer, gaping ridiculously while they gather their coherence. "You met a guy in a bar named Jung Hoseok." Yoongi turns to looks at his mate once more, whose imitates looking lost all over again. His plastered face breaks into uneasiness.
"Yes."
"What's so special about him?"
"He's making my life hard." He humphs. They both obviously aren't catching up. Namjoon makes a guesture to elaborate. Yoongi halts him. Suspiciously, he gives the elder a once over,
"Are you the reason this all happened?" SeokJin bristles a the reason he's suggesting.
Oh, for all the budding friendship they went through, his friend accusingly glares at him.
Yoongi knows he's guilty. SeokJin wont show it but he's right. It is him who is the reason why this catastrophe broke in the house. He's knows he's horrible. He's Impulsive. Rash.
But personally, the elder thinks it's not wholly his fault. Hoseok is equally the culprit and the catalyst in this. "Some mistakes have happened completely out of my control." The heir defensively spats.
They should worry more about how he's going to get out. Which he will. The mistake he made can be buried in seconds with money to bribe. In a year or two, he and the people around him forget and SeokJin will laugh about it in his mid thirties. But the thing is, while money isn't short, his attempts to cover it are limited. He's not going to make the mistake of contacting his terrorizer when it's the exact thing the said terrorizer wants him to do.
And that's why he turned towards Namjoon and Yoongi for help. SeokJin unclenches his toes, awaiting for any wise words of sympathy.
But it seems like they're losing their composure to even respond to all of this. Yoongi makes the trouble of pouring himself more water. Namjoon gradually picks the pages scattered and his reading glasses.
"Jung Hoseok," Namjoon reads on the file, "He's twenty eight." He muses. SeokJin scoffs. Namjoon flips the page, letting out an impressive sound. "He dances, lives in Gwangju and um," he squints, "there's a DNA transcript attached."
Namjoon hesitantly smiles, "He seems nice?"
"What gives you that?" SeokJin cocks his brow, "The part where I called him a vile piece of shit or when I said he's the bane of my existence?"
Namjoon wilts easily. Yoongi lands a pat over his mate's shoulder. Gentle pats that slowly dissolve into a massage. Namjoon leans back, pouty but contained.
"None of that now," Yoongi is calm. He offers a hum, "While your anger is justifiable," he drawls, "I need you to tell me more. For example," Yoongi does a show of expressing hands. "How did you meet him? What happened there?"
Namjoon and Yoongi glance at each other, "Why do you hate him?"
SeokJin's eyes darken.
The day couldn't have been any better. He's prepared for so many celebrations; it's two weeks before his thirtieth birthday and presents and Congratulations have flown all the way to reach him. Gifts like champagne, a rolex watch, a signed copy of The Queen of England. These are things that SeokJin doesn't need, but things that greatly stroke his pride. Being thirty is barely a milestone that is celebrated, but since it's him they're talking about, being Thirty is lit.
He'd gathered around his friends. It's not a large circle per se. SeokJin chose important people to be invited to his celebration. The people he deems are worthy to be affiliated with him; the friends who'd he favour.
SeokJin fluently mingles, enjoys their banter and their flirtatious retorts. They all are rich and expensively dressed, either in a crisp suit or a coctail dress. It's a way to brag their wealth, flaunt their beauty.
When the Alpha whispers a little joke, laughs erupt from them all. He's loved. He's cherished. He's definitely the center of attention.
"We should visit Jeju." Anya suggests out of the blue, "My dad opened a new bar, we should check it out." She twists her heels, imporing in her yes. The heir wraps his arms around her so she can hang off of him,
"Come on, it's your birthday. Give us a treat."
Pairs of eyes whip towards the man of the hour. SeokJin considers it, pretends to think over the suggestion. Anya bats her eyelashes. A silent begging of "please" escapes her lips. The people at his party whine and it puts a smile on the Alpha. He grabs his phone. Anything to tease his party.
Jeju is only two hours away, and if they take their private jet it'd be even quicker to reach. His friends whip in victory, congratulating him and promising him a good time. And who is SeokJin to shy away from a good time. His father will be furious to know he left without informing. He's thirty now. He doesn't care. He's gonna have the best golden days of his life.
A few hours later SeokJin lands in Jeju. His friends gasp in admiration. That's right. He booked a five star hotel for all of them. The heir breathes the air of night Jeju. It's salty and reminds him of a quiet ocean on the sides.
"We hit the bar!" His friends whip their heads towards Anya. She grins slyly as she points to a direction on the opposite of the sea. Cheers once again erupt and they languidly head to the bar. The real fun was walking towards it, because it felt rebellious to be able to do something wrong. SeokJin baths in the adrenaline. Neither of them have responsibilities to answer to. They're young, and definitely in a mood to commit mistakes and live with it.
The bar is expansive. It illuminates the roads early in their treading. Once they squint at it, its obvious how huge the club is built. Anya proudly puffs her chest. It's her father's and she'll be sneaking them in. She asks everyone to be quiet and to immediately mingle and disperse into the crowd.
And so they do. Few of them hit the dance floor. Few of them are straight to sucking faces. Most of them are figuring out where they belong. SeokJin and Sana are the latter ones who stand on the sidelines with a glass nursing to their chests.
The Alpha should give it to Anya's dad for enabling catchy rap music. He moves his feet along the tune, his friend clearly amused by the awkward attempt at dance. Sana giggles amd follows his lead.
"You're terrible."
He snorts. "I know."
Sana peers at the dance floor when she suddenly voices out, "Find me a hookup," SeokJin's gaze shifts to her. Her eyebrows stand out, dark and curved perfectly. She takes a long sip, "Someone of your taste. A guy probably, but a girl works too."
"I don't think my taste will fit yours."
She smirks cheekily, "Try me."
Minutes pass and the two are goofing at the corner, forgetting that a certain request was made. Sana is entertained by his jokes, and SeokJin finds her giggles contagious. They're friendly, and he's glad he's forgetting why he's he's here.
It comes in vivid flicker when a man in white shirt pats his shoulder to swiftly move past him. SeokJin twists back, catching the sight of a handsome man. The attraction hit him like a freight train, knocking the wind out of his lungs.
His hands carry a tray that holds three full wine glasses and an empty one. Fluid in his walk, Sana is barely pushed on the way as he walks on. His fingers don't linger on her. Instead it brushes minimally and hes walking again on his feet.
The server looks back. There's a wide berth between them. SeokJin sucks harshly when he stops, as he rotates on his heels to give the two a stiff glance.
SeokJin thinks he realistically can't work here. The server must be near his age to have a youthful air to him. Big eyes and an attitude of a gentleman. He can't help but thank Anya's dad over and over for every little blessing served to him on his birth date. The man resembles an Adonis, and the Alpha doesn't just say that about anyone.
The serve bows for the inconvenience, extending genuine apology. He vaguely meets his eyes and turns away.
SeokJin deeply felt his heart tug a chord. He owned a petite waist which was further accentuated by his trimmed shirt tucked in and sticking like vice on him. Like a second skin. SeokJin considers himself proper. His mother wired him in a sense he's even scared to slouch out of fear she might jump at him.
But he's gorgeous. His hair falls in trained strands on his forehead. Blond highlights that shimmer in the lights. The server- if that's what he is, hands a drink to the customer with a bright smile. That bright smile. He chokes on air. It could light up next to the sun. It could rival the stars. He owns a striking figure, further outlined by his coat draped. His lithe movements and agile body- the way he handled the tray make him attractive in unknowing ways.
Sana sees the way the Alpha is eyeing him and snorts out loud, "Nah not my taste. Too cute. But I see you like him."
Like him. He's sidetracked. "You should talk to him." Sana nudges. SeokJin is jolted from the moment. His face contorts in mild irritation.
"Yeah as if I want to." Ridiculous. He has better things to do. SeokJin bitterly sips from his glass. Pursuing the server in the middle of the night is dumb; he's here to have a good time not a tough time. The man is oblivious to the eyes that rake him. He's possibly a Beta, working night shifts to meet his college fee. SeokJin doesn't want to make efforts right now. He holds onto the rail.
"He looks like he'd want a relationship." The Alpha curls his lips. They're always an issue. He's been paired with such idiotic mindset of people, dying for a label between them that SeokJin had to delicately extract himself everytime. Nope. Not happening. This man walks with the most carefree attitude, his existence probably revolves around being nice to everyone. Although he'd be great company, SeokJin just wants a quick fuck.
"That's a bummer." Sana pouts. She jabs her finger at the crowd, specifically Yugeom's crowd, where they're gurgling insults. There's a pool of wet liquid. The girls holler, and drinks clink with an indelicate sound. It makes sense why people are avoiding them when walking past by.
"Jackson might want to take him home," she clicks her tongue, "I think he's gonna make his move soon. Wanna bet with me?"
A clear cut radio silence echoes. Mark slurs a curse out. Bambam tips his glass of beer on the floor. He's coming to realise that sounds aren't reaching his ears anymore.
SeokJin is astounded.
"No fucking way." He abruptly stands. Sana yelps at his growl, but he can't help it. The nonchalant attitude is overcome with the rising offense. Jackson intentionally gets on his nerves. The guy never learns. He'll have to put a restraining order on him if it goes on. Jackson should walk on thin ice around him, with how aggravating his entire existence is.
"That cheater! I had my eyes on him first!" He curls his fingers, imitating to strangle the air, "He can't do that!"
Sana tilts her head, "But you just said-"
"I know what I said. But Jackson took my dance partner to prom." He was fifteen. He had to shamefully sit that dance out. SeokJin rolls his sleeves, a determination falling over his face, "So I'm gonna steal his chance to get laid." He marches his way towards the bronze haired guy, prays he's into filthy rich men. SeokJin will sway the server off his feet, make sweet love to him and get off on the fact Jackson won't be getting any.
He's getting his revenge.
His charisma never fails him. That sever won't know what's going to hit him.
"Do you come here often?"
The waiter startles. His drinks wobble on the tray that he's lightly holding. SeokJin strides in and stables the tray. He swiftly lifts the trays off, glides them towards the table so that his victim, date for tonight is free. It's a smooth move, one that impressed SeokJin himself.
The bar blares with ear piercing music, it's really hard to make what he's saying. The server laughs. Cute crinkles appear on his eyes. Instead, the guy clasps his hand, drags him across a corner where there are slightly less violent drums banging. The server grins again.
"Thank You!" He spoke delightfully. He invites him to stand next to chairs. SeokJin guesses it's the stench of detergent washed over the table sheets that made him decide to move away.
He must think the heir would be uncomfortable. He bet he was.
"I was going to drop the whole thing if you weren't there." Dimples poke into his cheeks. His voice is melodious. The server shakes his butt to the music behind, "I don't trip on my feet a lot, but you surprised me." He knocks his butt against the wall and winces.
"No problem." This person holds so much confetti energy. SeokJin is fascinated by his expressions. He has a bubbly personality matched with a gorgeous face. The skin that glows tan under white lights is making SeokJin's heart do back flips inside his ribcage.
"Do you come here often?"
The server shuts his mouth. He peers around, then at his shoes and back at him, "The staffroom?"
SeokJin groans, "This place I mean." Oblivious. The heir plasters a smile. Can't he see how strongly he is sending attracting signals? His jacket is off, he's standing uncomfortably for him. His impressive smoulder look is on. He must feel the undeniable attraction.
He utters a confused noise. His nose twitches. "I work here." He parts his lips, "Are you trying to hire me?"
SeokJin takes a long look at him. The server frets his body, partially nervous and partially excited. "I'm not."
The smile disappears. "Oh."
He's a shiny trinket. SeokJin wants him. The only reason he's still pursuing him is that his responses are greatly amusing. The server blushes and rubs his nape. The heir is curious to find out how long he can tease him until he erupts in a shy mess.
"Is that a blush?" SeokJin inquires. He won't leave, SeokJin has him pinned to the wall. It takes a poof out of him, the other crawling back until there's nowhere to go. SeokJin is also thankfully broad. He's enjoying the fact that closeness between them highlights how small his prey is.
"Or are you just that happy to see me." The heir throws a dazzling smile. He's going to swoon him. SeokJin proudly raises his brow. He's got the hook, line and sinker.
The server furrows his brow. He squirms in the tiny space, "I mean you're a customer so," he lifts his shoulder, "I'll always be happy to see you."
SeokJin pauses. "So you like me." They are progressing. He's cute enough to want. And he's cute enough that SeokJin will ignore the red flag that he's insanely ignorant on his part.
The server immediately shakes his head, "I never said that." He nervously sweats. His eyes bounce from him to the offices to the staff room, "It's just that, it's the response I am obligated to say." He evenly adds.
And to soothe the burn, he smiles.
SeokJin is stumped when he realises he's serious. He'd better back off. The server loosens once the heir steps back. The denseness on him doesn't go away; he pats the dust off his uniform, expectantly looking back. SeokJin could scream; they were practically nuzzling into one another, intimately close and it's a sexy guy is hitting on him. A sexy. One.
Personally, SeokJin doesn't think Jackson would want him.
He pouts. They form a cute mush of lips that seem in dire need of kissing. For a second, SeokJin thinks of leaning in, shutting him up and making it explicitly clear what his intentions are.
The server twists his foot, "So can I offer you a drink?"
He signs defeatedly "I had something better in mind."
However, despite the previous disappointment, one look at the man's troubled gaze on him, he gathers the determination that he will get him to bed.
"I was just wondering," he swipes his lips clean as he tugs a hair out. It gets the attention exactly where he wanted it. Nonchalance is easy to pretend when the guy in front of you is already in your clutches. The server follows his lips in an entranced manner. He nods, prompting him to continue.
"Are you a bank loan?" He asks. This is it. The beautiful man concentrates hard. He shakes his head.
"Cause you have my interest." The server's lips twitch.
"If you were a flower," he drawls, prays that it appears as attractive as it does in SeokJin's mind,
"I'd call you a damnnndilion." A confused giggles bubbles out of him. His mouth presses down, as if trying to muffle the sound. The man curls his shoulders in, a continuous stream of shaking.
SeokJin beams. He likes it. When the server composes himself, it's untamed hair sticking to his forehead. His lips are nailed into a memorable grin.
SeokJin shifts closer, until he can look straight into his orbs. They're big, dark and a stark contrast to him. SeokJin wants to explore but it's an opportunity he will exploit later.
"Okay. I have another one." SeokJin squares up. The server cringes badly. But he nods for the heir to continue.
"Since all the libraries are closed? Can I check you out instead?"
"Check me out?" He furrows his brow, his face marrs confusion. He sticks his finger up, "You've been making these comments, puns, aren't they?-" It slowly lights up.
SeokJin anticipates his reaction. "Oh. oh." The server staggers back. And then it clicks. Oh he's cute cute. He blinks rapidly, lips apart and a giant red splotch sporting his cheeks. The palpable tension radiating on his face gives away that he's never been hit on. The bartender gulps, laughs off his shock.
"You were hitting on me." He says like it's a revelation. The server gapes, utterly taken away and very flushed to every inch of his skin. He bashfully puffs his cheeks up, similar to how a squirrel would do that curves a smile on SeokJin's lips too.
Albeit the late realisation is little bit of annoying, SeokJin is already gone for him. For his heart smile and his curves. His deep dimples that somehow convinced its way into being endearing rather than sexy. And the muscles. Yeah, he's definitely down for those.
He's seen it. This guy is packed. He's the sort of man that will give him reigns during their sexy times and won't complain. He's the type. SeokJin merely hums, walks until he's in his space.
"I suppose you won't accompany me to my hotel." SeokJin tugs his lips. The bartender frowns. "You sure? I'm not um," he bites his lips, "One night stand material- I'm not sure you'd be impressed. I should refuse."
SeokJin's grin curls predatory. It's a challenge he's willing to set his mind on. The only thing running on his mind is his petite waist and the tan skin laid out in front of him. He sips his cup, slides it back to the table where it'll be forgotten for good.
SeokJin rests his face on the palm of his hands, unintentionally showing off his collarbone expanse. The bartender gulps, openly eyeing them. SeokJin catches him gawking and is a little pleased at his reaction. Good. SeokJin wants him to be affected.
"You're definitely one night stand sweetie." His eyes shoot up. There's refusal sitting on his lips. But SeokJin is quick to shut him with a wink. He's cute. The man malfunctions, stuttering noises that dont make sense. One flirtatious glance at him and the man is bursting at its seams.
"So? Do you have a name?"
He allows a nod. "You can call me Hoseok." It's nice to put a name to him. Hoseok shuffles back, and seems dismayed that the other hasn't responded yet.
"Oh." SeokJin deflates. Hoseok raises his brow, "I was hoping to call you mine for tonight."
SeokJin walks forward, casually places his fingers across his neck. Its working. The dark lights illuminate suddenly, highlighting how pink he is. Hoseok physically turns cold, his eyes reflecting what is hesitance yet excitement. This will be fun, SeokJin thinks. It'll be fun to push his buttons.
He pecks him. Once he gains the confirmation he wants just as much, SeokJin pushes forward and locks their lips in a bold kiss. He's been wanting to. Hoseok's shaken at first but when SeokJin doesn't relent, he finds it appetising how the person melts in the kiss. Giving the man a taste of his own lips might convince him quicker.
They part with a wet sound. "I'm. Wow." He breathes. The kiss left him speechless, numb and swaying in his stead. Hoseok lightly touches lips as if he can't believe he was kissed.
SeokJin is fucking not kidding. The man smells like grated ginger and mint. Ah, a Beta. SeokJin takes another whiff of relief. His status makes things so much easier. But the scent: while mint and ginger doesn't really have that great effect on him, it's refreshing to breathe it from someone else. Hoseok shivers in the proximity but doesn't step away. Thank god his mother taught him manners or his wolf would have jumped on him an instance.
"But you can call me yours for the night." He teases. He watches his face fall into shock. Every reaction pulled out of him is comical. Hoseok stammers, going a lot faster in speech speech he did. Oh, he's gonna be a pretty little bed warmer. Pretty and sensitive to him. SeokJin heavenly signs.
"Pack up baby. You're coming with me."
SeokJin clasps onto his hand and tugs him forward. He was right. The moment Hoseok's shirt slips to his shoulder, his chest is broad and firm. They're sweaty but not an ounce of him cares when the heir is growing thicker under his jeans.
Hoseok is short. Enticingly close to nose length that it riles him more. He quivers when the other spreads his fingers on his arm. He'd ask him to be more pliant, after all Betas don't submit easily. But Hoseok stumbles into his chest, leaning dangerously and weighing him down.
They're shirts are quickly discarded. SeokJin admires the wide span of his shoulders. His skin is spotless, a compliment to his tan skin. Hoseok let's out a curse when he bites his collar. Sitting on the edge of the bed and only a thread away from falling into the spell, it takes insurmountable control to not eat him up.
It's when he surges for a kiss, that Hoseok is frozen in place. Gradually, as the kiss grows firmer, more confident, that he is able to melt into it. SeokJin didnt had to ask. The Beta becomes charmingly pliant, all on his own, stirring a new kind of hunger in him. Chest to chest; it's easy to push him down, as his hands rake against his-
"-stop stop." Yoongi wheezes, "I don't want details. I get it. You fucked." His hands raise up to his face, begging him to stop
SeokJin stops, taking in their discomposure. It has become uncomfortable, now that Yoongi mentioned it. He looks around, setting on Namjoon who appears to be drenched in stunned embarrassment.
For some reason, it doesn't make sense. He's at a good part. "But this is the best scene." He reasons.
"For you," the producer seethes, "I don't want an inch of what happened."
The heir furiously slaps the back of his hand to his palm, "It's important to my predicament! It's related!"
His friend whines. Yoongi whines. And Yoongi never reserved himself to stoop so low to whine. He's a well renowned artist that upkeeps his image as a perfectionist. Yoongi goes by the moniker Agust D and his reputation is his child. Like his albums are. Like his platinum disk awards are. He's crafted an unmistakable persona that does not unironaically include whining.
So both his mate and SeokJin assess him with different ranges of disgust.
Namjoon abruntly stands up, "Yeah I'm out."
Yoongi watches his figure leave. He pleads with his eyes. Namjoon spares him the barest smile and a pat on his shoulder for good luck. Yoongi looks at him uncomfortably, "Continue." He chokes out.
Yes. So they were in the middle of taking their clothes off. Once they were out, Hoseok moaned.
SeokJin felt insatiable. Desperate to have him naked-
"You know what? Fuck you." Yoongi slams his palm against the table. It's immediate silence from then on. SeokJin presses his lips in an infectious grin.
Yoongi breathes out fumes similar to how a dragon does. Once his redness dissipates, the producer curses softly.
"If you can't give me a PG rated summary, I'm suing you for making my ears bleed."
SeokJin crosses his legs, "Fine! I won't give you the full details. Just know that it was good sex and persuaded me to go really far-"
"For the love of God stop-"
"He bit me." SeokJin concludes. He folds his arms, waits for the dramatics to roll in. Yoongi processes it rather slowly. SeokJin patiently waits. It's the climax of the story, the bang of the plot. Literal bang. Because they, you know.
"Okay." He sits back. "That must suck."
An underwhelming response. He should have seen this. If Namjoon was telling the same story, he would have reserved better rapture. And that resentment over it, SeokJin is going to carry it for a long time.
"Wanna know the next?" He gloats. Yoongi doesn't bother to conceal his annoyance. He snags back, utterly defeated.
"If you bring me my wine, I'll consider."
SeokJin claps his hands.
Light slowly filters through the window. It's blinding. The first hint of sunlight on him has the other stirring in his sleep. SeokJin stretches. He's famished, tired and bordering over morning sickness. Which is funny, he's an Alpha. The heir has never experienced a headache quite so strong that it dulls his rest of the nerves. SeokJin moans, as his head is lifted and be sits up and blinks to gauge his surrounding.
It's definitely not his room. It's rather a tame colour of blue. Though it's actually easy on his eyes, it's strange to wake up in someone else's room. SeokJin finds his phone, reads that it's blaring ten in the morning. Amazing, he woke up just in time. His flight leaves in the next eight hours- it's enough to do sightseeing and get drunk once more. He knows he needs booze. And then his eyes stray towards the blanket, his bare chest, pink hues over his neck and torso.
"What the hell?" The elder strokes them, finds them tender and very much new. Oh. He fucked the pretty server last night. The one with soft hair and dainty fingers. His face comes into vision, of his eyes and his carefree laugh. And them his contorted face of pleasure. SeokJin massages his temple. He should have gone longer. The server- Hoseok was definitely too into it but alas, the night wasn't young and he's going to have more endeavors as such anyways.
SeokJin makes his way to the dining room. The pain makes him cranky. As he strolls towards the bathroom and reveals his skin at the face length mirror, he notices the disheveled hair, his puffed up eyes and the fullness of his cheeks that always leave him looking chubby. And when he leans down, an embarrassedly amount of love bites come into view on his skin. The heir pales at first. They are unnaturally pink, and his white skin stands out like a sore thumb. "What did you do." He whines. And while SeokJin loves these dates, loves the men and women who willingly sleep with him, he cannot stand markings on his skin. Ever.
SeokJin breaks out of the bathroom in a sour mood. He's moody. Insanely high on alcohol. If all the cons are sided on one, his reasons to be pouty are greater than the other side. Deal with it.
"You're up." Hoseok is bright and early, whisking eggs in a bowl. SeokJin stops at the counter. He's brushed down his hair, pulling an outfit that looks ready to go out.
"I'm making eggs for us!" He chimes in. He's met with dimples. A starstruck face crosses over the latter.
Hearing his voice is an immediate serotonin. SeokJin stands for a second taking in the vibrations of his voice. It's deep and reminds him of shallow waves. Hoseok is a positive beam. And it rubs on the Alpha too because he manages to smile back at him.
"Sorry," SeokJin mumbles, "I don't feel like wearing a shirt. Is that okay with you?" Hoseok's cheeks flare up at the mention. He furiously shakes his head but the act has been caught. The heir smirks. It's cute that he can appear soft in character and a sexy partner in bed. Because he put those marks on him. His nails digged those edges, Hoseok has no right to blush so badly, but he's doing it and SeokJin further melts at his antics.
The guy can admire his physique if he wants to, it's only going to stroke his pride.
His date turns to him, trying to resemble some normalcy. "Had your fun?" The Omega asks pleasantly.
"Yeah." He turns goo. SeokJin had fun yeah. He'd do it all over again if he didn't had to leave tonight. Hoseok was a sight. He's pretty sure he won't forget his deep moans and the arch of his spine or-
Hoseok nods to himself. Accidentally, his eyes dart over his body and he nervously sweats. Oh, SeokJin hopes he thinks what he's thinking. The heir can definitely feel the arousal. Another round can't harm anyone. They'd part ways quickly after that.
But Hoseok shakes off the haze, "Good good." He mutters. Before SeokJin can ask what's wrong, he's bustling in the kitchen. His date resumes his cooking, but SeokJin can detect a sour tinge of nervousness. It's a barely there hitch in his breath that gives away that Hoseok is trembling under the mask.
"So? What do you do for a living?" Hoseok resumes his cooking. His voice however sounds heavier. And while suspicion is second nature to a man like SeokJin, he personally can't think Hoseok can hurt him. He's shy. He's easily flustered. SeokJin just has to flash his skin a little lower and the other will combust.
"Are you trying to have a conversation with me?" He wags his brow. Hoseok turns around, sporting a confused face. SekJin leans onto the counter, sexily might he add. He's great at introductions. It's his favourite thing. SeokJin dims his eyes as he purrs,
"I'm Kim SeokJin. Does it ring a bell?" The heir pulls a strand of his hair. And then he waits for the recognition to spark. Magazines, newspapers, the hot topic channels, everything deems him fascinating to cover. They trip over their wires to catch up to him. Surely, Hoseok keep up to date with the recent gossips.
And it does. Hoseok balks. His eyes widen slightly comically. "You're Kim SeokJin."
"Yeah baby." He winks. The Alpha leans onto the frame, practically nuzzling the wooden carvings that do not offer great angles to lean onto.
"Oh my god." Hoseok palpably loses his cool, "Do you know what you've done to me?!" His flips out. Like a lunatic, he deliriously falls onto the chair.
SeokJin warily stands straighter. He takes apprehensive steps back. A few hyperventilating seconds later, the Beta composes himself by a thread.
"You have no idea what you did, did you?"
He slowly shakes his head.
Hoseok shucks his neckline down. An amazing collarbone, firm yet delicate and very inviting. Ten out of ten, SeokJin would have a go at his neck again. But Hoseok appears worried, bordering towards panic. He points at his side, tracing marks that look like teeth. Teeth.
Colour leaves him, when he notices a crescent mark over his scent gland. They're red. At one point in life, they must be healed, and SeokJin bruised it. He bruised an already bitten mark again. That's emotionally damaging, and against wolf laws. The depth of the situation eases into him slowly. Bitten neck. Bite marks.
His hands fly towards his face. Splayed them against his skin as the horror wrecks his conscious, "I fucked a mated guy."
Hoseok gapes in confusion.
SeokJin stills in a chilling numbness. He can't feel his face, nor his legs. The realisation stunts any coherent thoughts. He staggers, his chest painfully heavy in his ribs.
"You cheated on your mate with me?!" He snarls.
Of all the utter vile crimes that bleed from his hands, this was the least likely crime he could have committed. His face feels numb from how slack his jaw is. "You cheater! Your boyfriend- or girlfriend will be so mad- how could you?!"
This will be the news. Kim SeokJin the Homewrecker. The company directors will be pissed. There will be headlines that will paint him as the abuser. SeokJin will lose his position when shares will fall dramatically, and Kim Corps will have to bear the end stick.
SeokJin can't believe it. He gawks at Hoseok's neck, a nearly traumatic experience and he still can't believe that Hoseok is taking it quite well. He's the collected one between them. However, his face isn't amused in the slightest.
"You want to sue me huh?" SeokJin yells. His hands fly towards a hairbrush. He grips it tightly. SeokJin will defend his honour, his company and his life by his bare hands.
"Your partner and you want money from me by- " He stammers, "This is all a vast plan to make me pay you- in order to keep your mouth shut!"
SeokJin slits his eyes. The heir threatens to hit, "I'm not afraid of anybody." The brush feels heavy. Hoseok presses his lips in a disapproving manner.
His friends warned him of greedy people that would toy him for their own use. His own judgement was wrong. SeokJin surges with another betrayed cry,
"You sicko," deceived by his night stand, he had more faith in Hoseok. His kind eyes and gentle smile, he should have known better, "I thought you were a good person but I was wrong!"
"Well I also thought you were a good person!" Hoseok screams back. It's a sight that shakes the elder too. The heir jerks. Hosek cries loudly, "This isn't even about-" he pinches his brow, "-rambling like you're the victim here when I'm in pain because of you!"
After careful thinking, SeokJin gradually lets the brush down.
"You've got it all wrong," He frustratingly explains, "I don't have a boyfriend. Or any lover." Hoseok folds in arms in disdain.
SeokJin breaks from his trepidation. But the mark, it's baffling and a dead give away that this man is taken. SeokJin accusingly points at his neck.
"I'm disappointed to say," he grudgingly complies and drags his shirt down again. The mark reveals itself around multiple hickeys decorating it, "but it's yours. See?"
Like a physical ornament falling from a height, tumbling down a vast building, he thinks this is it. His new era had just barely begun. Yesterday, he was happy and drunk on celebrations. Today he has to witness his reputation in the wrong hands of Hoseok as he holds metaphorical knife over it. Hoseok could slit it, murder it if he wishes. SeokJin drops the guise of bravery.
So there goes his thirties.
"Hell no!" He would have revolted. His chest is bare, and he feels like his skin is too. So he slumps. He's bare and ashamed, feeble. A meaningless fling that he had faith in, costed him so much. His body prickles with needles and it's the least pain he's felt since today.
There is so much to grieve for; he can sense his direction and life tilting on its axis. He's stupid, Yoongi was right after all; SeokJin should not he trusted with alcohol.
All there's left to do is sit and let the grey cloud above him consume him. He murmurs again again, repeatedly hammering the vision into his head. Atleast this can't get worse, this can't get worse. He'll find a way.
"You not only slept with a guy," Hoseok continues, "You have decided to make me yours. That's too fast, don't you think?" His voice is on the verge of breaking. He sinks on the floor. Hoseok isn't having the best attitude towards it. He's trying to be brave, unlike SeokJin who's losing a lot of blood rush and glucose.
A hollow laugh echoes that tunes into a misery. "I would have liked courtship." He muses. SeokJin whips his head to the server who attempts at smiling but fails.
"It's fine. It's fine." Hoseok regulates his breathing into slow ones. "I'll still have my dignity intact once I'm out." He fists tightly into his shirt. His head bobs; a convincing act but fruitless.
"No you won't." He inaudibly replies, "I can't believe you."
Oh god. Oh god. SeokJin runs his hands down his chest, his neck, stopping at three ridges curving at the back of his nape.
"You mated me back." He vaguely remembers teeth. SeokJin bared his neck on instinct. He writhed in pain but eventually welcomed it while his own teeth were painted with blood.
Hoseok's eyes widen, "I did?!"
Biting someone is one thing. Being bitten back is sacred. Up till now, the heir only stressed over the other's suffering. It was Hoseok's mark so really, it's his problem. SeokJin was rummaging his brain about the possible dent to his position. But now, he's so he's going to get dragged into it. Hoseok can high five him because they both are in this and they are in this together.
Anger surges in him. "You did this! You wanted this!"
"I did not!" He refutes loudly, "You're deluding yourself from the real issue." He stresses over the complications. A mark. A mark doesn't fade as prominently as love bites do. They leave an evidence behind. Hoseok's eyes gleam with a tear. And a cowering thought strikes his mind.
"Wait a minute," SeokJin points his finger. The Omega stops halts. The scent was so obvious. Betas don't have acutely strong scents. But now, what eluded him for so long is clear in front of his eyes. He can taste mint on his tongue, and they haven't touched each other since morning. Hoseok dreadfully watches.
"You're an Omega?"
SeokJin picks the guilt as easily as oil on water. He has to credit it to the new additions on their neck. SeokJin knows he's an Omega. His sharp intake of breath gives it away. His date gulps.
Hoseok wraps himself in a ball as a means of comfort. There's a grave silence, a quietness that feels wrong to break. Hoseok schools into a blank expression that lacks accusation. "Just go."
SeokJin's suspicion hitches, "How are you so calm about it? Aren't you worried we're gonna have to answer to other people?"
His mother will be . His father might take drastic actions to discipline him. And he can't afford a medical check in hopes to prove this wrong. He doesn't have time to forge documents when the hospital ones are always tricky.
Hoseok is still lost in his head. "You're such a fraud." SeokJin mutters.
"That sounds so wrong coming from your mouth." Hoseok mutters. He pulls out a thin bar of chocolate and turns away with a resignated sign. He's curled beside the island and his head knocks onto the wood. The vape makes its way to his lips.
He looked nothing like an Omega. During their time, his physique did not hint at his rank. And for a moment, he had fun with him thinking he's a normal Beta. The risk wasn't there, so they must have gotten ahead of themselves. Perhaps too passionate. But he's an Omega, and to be slipped off as a higher rank, it must be powerful. Hoseok doesn't has to deal with stereotypes and bullshit of society. It makes sense why he'd wear scent blockers. SeokJin only took the barest scent that was floating on the surface.
"You're wearing scent blockers." Hoseok looks up with dead eyes. "You bet I was."
"You shouldn't have slept with me if you were going to mate me." SeokJin barely feels his body. A pit in in stomach grows deeper, and it should be worrying. This is an out of soul experience. The heir's new to this, and he isn't faring well. The bite left him nauseous. But he's trying to gain an edge here. If SeokJin can succeed in scaring Hoseok, maybe he'd leave him alone.
"I slept with you?!" Hoseok sarcastically points it out, "You came onto me! With your cheap pickup lines and your overused cologne." He spites, "I thought you were poor or something. Like me."
SeokJin would have taken the bait. How dare he degrade his expensive perfume into cheap? But his vision blinks with black and blue spots. SeokJin better get away. But he's not sure how.
"My lawyer will hear about this." He stammers.
"I'm sorry?"
He wills his body to stop quivering, "You can't take action on me if I take action on you."
"You'd take action on me?" Hoseok sizes him up and down. In a condescending tone, he spills, "You'd lose."
The revelation is finally taking a toll on him. He sways dramatically but catches his footing before the Omega finds out. SeokJin will drop dead if he doesn't run this instance.
Hoesok doesn't spare a glance to him, "Just go. I'd hate to run into a face like yours anyway."
"That's it."
Yoongi has a contorted sour face once they're done. SeokJin sits straight nd legs crossed. The producer picks apart his lip. He clicks his tongue in thought, "Is this the part where I tell you how self centered you are?"
"You can, I just won't take it smoothly."
He lets out a resigned breath, "This is your doing. I knew you had a hand in this and now I'm," Yoongi grates his voice,
"I think you'd figure out the solution yourself." He folds his arms, motions to the envelope on the table, "The card looks heavy. Maybe contacting him would do you both good. He's in confusion. You're in confusion." He dryly laughs, "I'm literally a third party hearing your sob story because you have the keys to my home. That's it."
SeokJin clutches the armrest. Yoongi suggesting this isn't only a bad idea, it's a reckless one. It's a ridiculous thought. He's not contacting the same man who is responsible for this mess along with him. The heir was resolute he'd prefer all this to be buried. What they don't know won't hurt them.
And yet he ponders how cunningly he can rotate the situation to his advantage. He wouldn't, until an opportunity shows itself. Hoseok shouldn't be brought to light unless it's urgent.
SeokJin's voice drifts, "You're not wrong."
"Get out."
Yoongi hid his disapproval thinly. And though it bothers him, It doesn't matter. Only he knows what its like to be in his shoes. Yoongi doesn't has to face slander. He doesn't have to put up with unbidden speculations of everyone. SeokJin hasn't even stepped foot in the Kim Corps, afraid that the letter will follow him there as well. The precautions he's taking to save himself are radical.
And Yoongi definitely doesn't has to face his family.
"You mated with someone?" She breaks up, confusion evident on her. Her mother clasps onto the chair and touches her mouth in shock. Expectantly, she lifts her face at his son.
Two other bodies take up space in the lounge. It's a miracle the room hasn't exploded. His father is seated adjacent to his wife. Kim Han Neul. He's a kind soul but a dangerous man if anyone dared to test his patience. The heir chances a look at them. Han Neul wears a stone cold face, unforgiving glare, dead set on the unbending figure of his son.
His breath hitches. The heir clenches but holds his head high. He can imagine the wrath of his father penetrating the air. Her mother frets continuously, going back and forth about the affliction. Kim Ara mourns loudly for the loss of her sons' honor, her dream for a fancy wedding, the engagement party she had planned. The grounds for her lamentings were vain, but SeokJin isn't worried about his mother. His father appears unimpressed.
SeokJin inherited the brilliance, the cunning essence from the great man. His father is infuriatingly unshakeable. And it's no shock his son takes after him
The two headstrong personalities clash disastrously. His father glowers. SeokJin tilts his head to the side, provoking him. Kim Haneul stamps his feet, as a loud thud wakes the house, his mother and certainly SeokJin.
"Did you or did you not, mate an Omega in Jeju?" He demands.
"Perhaps." The airily responds. The room grows colder and colder as his father's patience runs out. His hands cross themselves across his chest. Before his father's temper can get worse, his mother gently rests her hand on his lap, admonishing.
She turns to him with an equally stern look, "Show respect dear."
SeokJin balks. His first reaction is to refute but it disappears quickly. There's no way his father would let him disrespect his mother without consequences. She carefully flips the pages, inspecting the details given. Old age should have withered her beauty, her youthfulness, but she persists in being seen as young. She's sprightly and tender at heart. Unlike Han Neul, SeokJin's bursts do nothing to damp her spirits.
It's her who feels the need to inquire about the man SeokJin got himself into trouble with.
"Jung Hoseok," she tastes the words in her mouth. It's spoken with caution. But hearing his name sends a shiver down the heir's spine. "Is he handsome?" She curiously asks.
"I wouldn't know. I only met him once." He plainly responds.
"But it was enough for you to make decisions." His father points. SeokJin outrageously scowls. The constant acts of disobedience has made it become his second nature. The drawl in his voice comes easy. With the itching need to drag this quickly, his face is unmistakably crafted with boredom and resolute defiance. And so, he can pretend his father's wrath doesn't scare him.
"A mistake." He scathingly corrects.
"Don't use that voice on me."
"You men should take your pheromones outside." She chides.
She hands him the paper. SeokJin recognizes the blue seal, its brown paper and the heavy medical stench to it. That atrocious thing. That damn envelope. His hands quiver when he places it back on the table.
He was right to fear the cursed paper. It first followed him to his home, and now it's landed straight at his parent's residential home. SeokJin should have burnt it the second it was received.
"It says your DNA traces have been found on his mark. You mated with him."
As the words are said, the house falls mute. It's a grave mistake to look back up at them. His mother seems to be conflicted and torn apart over the news. And his father holds judgement.
SeokJin might be a man, but he's their son. Kim Haneul reserves gentleness for him; he's been
But it's unreasonable to ask for forgiveness after he ran over their name.
It becomes apparent when he says, "We should do the right thing."
"No!" SeokJin barrels from his seat, "This needs to be buried."
Haneul regards him with a deafening scowl, "With what? Money?"
SeokJin doesn't dare to retaliate. His father isn't watching. The man tips his head back. A frustrated twist in his features that gradually lifts. His expression is one of resolved defeat,
"Maybe it's time. You enjoyed your years as a kid. You're thirty. My business is going to be handed to you."
Truthfully, the heir didn't come here with the slightest hope that his father would listen. He's not naive, and neither is he. But sometimes, the hardness he possesses, SeokJin wishes he didn't. It would have saved him and Jeongguk from the separate paths they tumbled into.
"We should set a date." He turns to his wife, "What do you think?"
Her mother scratches her chin in deep thought, "If there's a marriage, we'd frame it as our decision," she slowly articulates. "If there's a wedding, you can continue the name with our blessings."
She gasps. It draws both of their attention. Her eyes appear watery, mouth agape as if an epiphany is revealed to her at this instance.
"This is our chance to have grandkids." She murmurs. She clasps onto her cheeks, ecstatic and untimely giddy over the prospect. Before SeokJin can refute, she stands and takes her son's hand and .
"This is good for us." She says, overlooking the frightful look on her son.
"It's settled." Han Neul shrugs his coat off, signifying his leave.
"Is anyone hearing me?!" SeokJin cries, "I'm not marrying a stranger.' Especially not someone I met at a bar!"
He doesn't know the first thing about his one night stand. He doesn't know where he lives, how old is he-
"I worked hard for the company didn't I?" SeokJin yells. It's desperation more than anger as he staggers forward, "I'm you son- you can't tie to someone I don't know!"
Haneul stops him from coming forward. "Do you have objections?" His father aims a withering glare, "We're going with it. It's about time you realise mistakes have consequences, and you son," he mockingly remarks, "Have been living too easy."
SeokJin stands appalled. A chill rushes through his spine and sends a ache in his bones. He's barely aware of his mother's worried gaze on him. She's hasn't spoken, but maybe she has. Even if she did, it's unlikely that she did it to defend him.
He didn't live his youth like he should have. He didn't go out like other kids his age did. He didn't attend graduation, nor holiday parks. He never went to the beach with his family.
He spent it on studying, working hard, making a future, always one step ahead so one day he can take over. He hasn't felt free. SeokJin can't be tied. He can't put effort into a family he doesn't want.
And now his thirties will slip away in the way sand does in an hourglass.
"Marks are sacred," Her mother intervenes. She's timid but her voice is clear and strong, "Whether you like it or not, that man wears your mark. He's bonded to you. It can't be a mistake when you both are adults."
She tentatively asks, "Do you own a mark too?" SeokJin shivers. His hand unconsciously circles his neck. He feels a numb kind of pain when his fingers press on it, reminding him of Jeju, their night and his teeth latching onto him.
"It's unrecognizable." SeokJin grits, "He didn't bite me hard enough to leave lasting effects. I don't feel a thing."
His father shakes his head in disdain, "You're answerable. I suggest you drop your shenanigans and prepare for a wedding."
Kim Ara digs her fingers into her sons shoulder. It's as if she's trying to shake sense onto him. SeokJin doesn't meet her eyes. They are fixed onto the wall behind his father's retreating figure. He can't look at his mother or else he'll reveal the betrayal he feels from her.
"A husband is a good choice. If he keeps up to our standards, I'm sure you and Hoseok will make a nice pair."
Haneul stops. He casts a final look behind. His demeanor shifts into a softer tone as he addresses his son, "It's good to settle, even if it's a-" his father barely conceals his distaste, "-an Omega from a middle class family."
Han Neul chances a look at his file, "His family owns a farm?" Her mother nods. "Lovely."
Perhaps the rebellion runs much deeper than his parents fondly attributed it as.
SeokJin pulls his jacket off and slips sunglasses on. "We're here at the airport." He's familiar with the surroundings, pertaining to the frequent plane jumps he's been through. The breeze hits his face and wakes a part of him. SeokJin rakes his hair back, allowing the air to mess them as vigorously as they wish. He'll still be beautiful.
The heir scans the perimeter. "I hate airports."
"You didn't have to pick him by yourself, you know," Yoongi cuts in, "I could have done that." A miffed expression is painted on his face. But what can he do? He's waiting for an answer from the elder when SeokJin's a little preoccupied. He's discreetly integrated himself in the crowd- the crowd that hasn't taken notice of the brilliant prodigy of Kim Corporates.
Being inconspicuous is a skill of survival. If anyone recognised his thick glossy hair from afar, their plan would be immediately in shambles. They'd have to flee. And Yoongi can't run even if his life depended on it. He'd die on the battlefield even if he begged him to come.
So his friend should be grateful he took matters in his own hands and intentionally dressed in cheap clothes and thrift bought jeans; clothes that further accentuate how ordinary they are.
Yoongi frowns harder.
"No Yoongi." SeokJin grits, "I need to handle this as swiftly as possible. No one should know I had a lapse of judgement and risked my reputation for a fleeting pleasure."
They both walk past the security undetected. One of them sleepily lifts his head to acknowledge them. Yoongi stumbles behind but catches up soon. The guard grunts their way, and swipes the doors open without backup check.
It's not like they're involved in suspicious activities that they should fear the guards. Although Yoongi does resemble a gangster crediting his black attire, SeokJin is thankful a hindrance eradicated itself all on its own. The guards were easy to fool. He cracks his knuckles. Now onto the second one.
Incheon Airport is bustling with people. The heir takes notice of bags being handled and trolleys being escorted out. SeokJin is tempted to push others aside, but he has the decency to zip his mouth and keep his hands in his pocket while they follow the board. Three turns and an escalator later, an issue surfaces where they both have to inevitably stop.
Yoongi bumps into his chest, when his irritation simmers into confusion. He peeks from behind, and truly they are at a crossroad. The lanes are deceiving in a way where each path appears the same. He looks on the left aisle and it's empty. He looks on the right. It's empty too. The producer nudges him, prompting him to make a decision.
His determination already has a weak foundation. The heir can't afford a fuckup, let alone screw paths. He peers left, then again right. From a tight focus; SeokJin traces a mind map from his trip last month. He knows this.
All the while, Yoongi watches the expressions on his friend's face contort into hardness.
"The objective is simple. I'm going to convince Hoseok to go against it." His friend is hot on his heels as the elder swifts through the empty crowd. He remembers distinctly, the plane ticket had a detail about Gate Number 7. SeokJin will not question his intuition, nor his memory. Yoongi will confuse him, and he's already a friend doing more than he could. A right it is.
He's panting slightly, but the producer hasn't complained yet so it's all good. The quietness surrounding only encourages the elder to indulge in the secret, "To say no to my parents. They won't take my refute but they definitely won't make a poor Omega marry me."
Both of them stop. On the board, it indicates Jeju flight is landing any minute now from Gate 7. The heir internally signs in relief. They made it.
Yoongi doesn't take a second to slip into a chair. SeokJin takes comfort two seats away. He crosses his fingers together to rest his face on it. Waiting can be either minutes, hours; depending on how long the plane departed. The red beep above the board; it ticks down time rather slowly as if intentionally trying to provoke him. SeokJin takes deep breaths.
They are eagerly yet apprehensive waiting at the waiting area. His feet tap furiously. A part of him hopes he'd walk out and also hopes he would take time. SeokJin's agitation peaks when a concoction of flour hits their direction.
The area suddenly reeks of multiple smells. The heir can detect honey and lemons. SeokJin is able to ignore it. He's well versed in the art of ignoring things. But his friend unfortunately is sensitive to fragrances. His nose twitches, and instinctively, Yoongi moves more towards him. He's wearing his trademark disgust, a sour tinge to his own air. He reclines onto SeokJin. There is no asking needed when he shyly creeps and curls against the other.
The elder unhelpfully signs. It's an unacknowledged fact that SeokJin is undeniably pleasant to smell. He's a chilled breeze of Autumn in a leaf pile. It's appealing to others, and gentle on the nose, in this situation, to Yoongi. He doesn't fuss when the producer shoves his nose to his jacket. It's all well and platonic. Sympathetically, he pats his shoulder.
But now when he thinks of it, SeokJin remembers what Hoseok tasted like, but his scent eluded him. It was something sour but there was a tinge of freshness to it. And now he wishes he had taken in more whiffs, tattooed it on his brain because the only thing he remembers is that it was as enticing as an unimaginable fruit he can't pin a name to. The scent blockers were a nuisance. Hoseok was breathtaking and smelled like soap, but once they dived in, SeokJin thought he wouldn't never get enough of him.
The producer finally shuffles away until they have acceptable space between them. Yoongi sneezes into his sleeve. He's terribly pissed.
"How do we convince him?" Yoongi interrogatively inserts. "Money? Gold?" His voice gradually rises when SeokJin doesn't oppose. He pushes his hair out of his eyes to gaze at the window on the opposite side of Yoongi.
The producer groans, "Unbelievable. I thought we're trying to solve a problem, not make it worse."
SeokJin casts him a withering look, "You have a better plan?"
"All I'm saying is that bribery is never okay. I'm not okay- and you know that! Nothing comes good with it- you think any of us debuted as producers through money- don't answer-" he shushes him with a hard face, "What matters is I didn't. And I advise that you don't take rash actions and ruin your already perfectly crafted life."
"You know I admire your moral conduct of work." SeokJin offers. He coaxes him to cool down until a tired expression reveals itself. Yoongi struggled his way to achieve his dream, refused help from dirt rigged hands and held his head high no matter what the radios brought him. He protected his prestige, and SeokJin is always admiring his tenacity to resurface at his lowest.
Yoongi regressed into his usual peeved self. "We also shouldn't lie to him. Say it how it is and we go from there."
The disapproving tone does not slip past SeokJin. That's a tough line not to cross that the elder resists rolling his eyes. Bribery is inevitable, profit making even. Obviously, there are boundaries one shouldn't cross, but everything is fair on the ground of victory. Yoongi holds his stance through his flaring nose. He'd hurt the other if he spoke this out.
SeokJin scoffs, "You're so innocent, Namjoon could convince you to plead guilty of charge. You wouldn't know what hit you." He knows the advice came from a good heart, it's just that he's not feeling argumentative.
Yoongi tilts his head, "He'd never do that to me."
He rolls his eyes. Namjoon would never. But the possibility still stands. "It's a hypothetical insult. And we're not going to bribe."
Yoongi appears unsure but SeokJin is confident in that. "There would be no need."
Three minutes. The passengers pass by but there's no sight of him. SeokJin is tempted to call him but that sounds too desperate. He glimpses at his phone, disappointed when he sees not a single ting of notification came from him.
"The flight has landed."
He whips his head. In a few seconds, people flood out. More and more. This is it. This is the flight where he travelled in. SeokJin has to stand to pick apart his date from last week in Jeju.
When he feels his heart beat accelerate, the heir doesn't know if it's because of anticipation or dread. He just knows that his stomach is in knots and he's on edge to find him in the crowd. The crowd filters and SeokJin desperately holds onto the one strand of hope that Hoseok has made it to Seoul.
He didn't expect much, but when a familiar shadow forms on the sidelines, his heart abruptly jumps to his throat. It's foreign to him how excited he is. The heir schools his face into disinterest- he fails. The relief is hard to contain and some part of him wants to leap.
Hoseok finally enters. SeokJin physically feels the exhaustion in his bones from waiting so long. But finally, this man has graced them with his presence.
Hoseok turns his head as if scanning the crowd too. Indeliberately, his hand raises to get the other's attention. Hoseok does the action all over again until he catches the sight of the elder. The face that was composed seriously breaks into an excited million watt smile.
Bright, SeokJin is once again reminded how absurdly cheerful the latter is. His aura cuts through the blinding light and it's undoubtedly him that stands before them. He's tall and cute and lost, and raises heads to turn- something SeokJin desperately did not want.
Yoongi jabs him, points his head towards the flamboyant traveller far across them. SeokJin bobs his head. Yes. He's the one. Yoongi's eyebrows arch ridiculously high.
At least he's shown his face. There was a probability his date might evade the scene and vanish before SeokJin could get his hands on him. If he's smart, Hoseok could have saved his life before anyone else's and fled his ass. So thank god he's a mellowed being who puts trust on him easily.
Because in that case, SeokJin had prepared a wholly different approach. Nothing too far fetched thankfully. But perhaps, SeokJin wonders as Hoseok steps away, if he'd be forgiven for the grand kidnapping of the innocent bystander that Hoseok is. Yoongi would have raised hell. His approval wasn't needed anyways, just his sign that none of this will be discussed. He believes he would have pulled it off. If things go downhill, he'd give it an attempt and blame it on the police.
He turns to his friend, "This could have been worse."
"What?"
SeokJin's chest tightens. "Nothing."
From a nearer look, he's wearing bracelets. His bronze hair is combed back until only a few strands are loose. Wild would perfectly describe his features. Hoseok is attractive no doubt, but he's also a gentle person. Hoseok's friendly face is a sign of mercy from above and SeokJin is grateful. His leniency to listen and be a co-operative will be coming in good use.
"That's your point of misery?" Yoongi switches his gaze from the Omega. He carefully steps down as he drags his suitcases. SeokJin discerns his clothes and is surprised to connect that Hoseok's attire is literally one that belongs to a tourist. Red Button shirt and sunglasses perched on his hair. He's wearing slippers and a necklace hangs from his collar. From the looks of it, he's on a vacation. A vacation.
SeokJin internally smacks himself. This is bad.
"He's really bright." SeokJin nods. Vaguely, he's aware he brought Yoongi with him. But watching Hoseok struggle with carrying his suitcase is sort of stressful. Hoseok hesitates. Turns back to them with an apologetic look.
"He's handsome too." Yoongi comments. He squints at his date then back to him with a judgemental tone, "I can't believe you're crying because this sunny boy is making your life hell."
SeokJin hunches his shoulders. "Tell him to leave the suitcase. My driver will get it for us."
"Let's go together."
They trudge their way. Passengers shove by him. But they manage to make it halfway. Hoseok disappears and reappears behind the moving crowd. SeokJin is trying to reach but they both are walking against the flow of people. Yonngi has victoriously taken shelter behind his broad shoulders but that doesn't guard him when it's the heir stumbling back.
Hoseok throws his arm forward in the mob. His hands outreach for SeokJin to take. SeokJin barely catches it, conflicted whether it is the right choice. The mob gets angrier the longer SeokJin hesitates. Hoseok leans forward and abruptly grabs SeokJin's hand and drags them to safety.
"Finally!" Once they're close, nothing stops the brunette from launching his arms around his neck. Hoseok attacks him and attaches in an instant. His arms loop around his neck. He squeezes and SeokJin sucks a harsh lip.
He was not prepared for this. He should have; the possibility was nine out of ten. Chest to chest, face tucked into the crook of his feels intimate that SeokJin freezes in place. The Omega positions to further mould himself around the other.
The heir reminds himself he has an agenda to follow. And it heavily revolves around making Hoseok comfortable around him. Hoseok is a terrible being for not asking consent, but SeokJin is also trash for taking advantage of his kind heart.
Naturally, the heir wounds his arms back against his back. SeokJin tries- he really tries but it's hard to concentrate when Hoseok is easily engulfing him in a hug. Hoseok crushes them tight, blocking all thoughts and leaving SeokJin in a mind numbing haze.
It suggests that they're old friends and Hoseok really missed him. When in truth, they don't know the second about each other
When he lets him go, his dizziness makes him trip over his feet. Fuck. SeokJin is all for healthy physical attraction, but damn him. The hug was a positive boost injected right into his veins. SeokJin first hand experiences an overdose of an unwanted hug.
"What was that?!" He weakly demands. Yoongi stables him with a solid hand as he wobbles on his feet, "Are you that happy to see me?" The embrace squeezed the life out of him, he can't walk straight anymore.
"Shouldn't I?" The Omega counters. He playfully laughs until his lilting smile wipes clean when he observes SeokJin's body still trembling. Guilt flashes on his face, "Shit- was I too strong?"
On the contrary, SeokJin thinks it was just right. But he'll play along the mildly irritated CEO who despises any touch. Yoongi gently holds him when he chokes out, "I think I need a CPR." He rocks his head to chase away the clouds over him, aiming a stink eye,
"No more hugging- not until I give explicit approval." SeokJin wheezes, deliberately restraining his anger into fizzled annoyance. Kudos to the Omega. This is the highest degree of spooked he's felt since birth. No one has managed to deter him in his schemes the way Hoseok managed. People have been punished for far less; and somehow the date will walk without a scratch on his pride.
Hoseok still has the decency to look appropriately chastised. The heir slims his jacket down and tucks his glasses inside. Back to the real business.
"Meet my friend. Min Yoongi." He doesn't know when his mind supplies that this is an informal meeting. Hoseok perks. He's been eyeing him since the time the producer had found solace behind his shoulders. SeokJin deliberately steps back to expose the recluse music prodigy. Hoseok doesn't recognise him immediately, not like he did SeokJin, but his friendliness extends to the third person too.
Yoongi tentatively waves fingers at him. It's a friendship blooming at first sight.
SeokJin pats the producer, gesturing to the Omega, "This is Hoseok." SeokJin directs a cheerful smile. They'll get along just fine; it's only a couple hours so he's sure Yoongi's social battery will last for today.
Yoongi clears his throat and offers his hand, "It's good to finally meet you." Hoseok accepts the handshake. Yoongi is slightly surprised when it's two hands that tight clasp around his. The dancer enthusiastically shakes it.
Yoongi isn't a criticizing being. His impression of others tend to be mild and realistically crafted. He doesn't double guess his intuition and hardly is persuaded against his opinion. Yoongi chuckled at his friend when he stressed how exuberant the servant was. SeokJin fumed, astonished at the lack of trust. But Yoongi dismissed his portrayal of the Omega and dismissed it as an exaggeration on SeokJin's behalf. His conscience isn't clean and he expects others to not be as clean either.
So despite Yoongi's refusal to believe his description of Hoseok- the fine details that SeokJin stressed upon- he's shaken by the vigorous handshake. A crazed raise of his brow speaks everything.
Then subtly, he shifts his gaze to SeokJin with a tight expression. I know what you mean.
SeokJin can't even underline this is hardly the shell of the problem. But as the sword that is two edged, Hoseok's enthusiasm is also why they are where they are.
"You're SeokJin's friend! Thats amazing!" Hoseok exclaims. Yoongi vaguely tilts his head. The weirdest part is, he probably means it. The dancer, flawlessly gorgeous that he is, is also genuine with feelings. God doesn't send men like him on earth anymore. They send men like morally corrupted Kim SeokJin or depressingly stable Min Yoongi. Hoseok is built different.
"I know. It's earth shattering." Yoongi solemnly nods, "SeokJin doesn't really has much friends."
Hoseok doesn't take the bait to laugh. The dancer sends him a twinkling grin, "That's gonna change soon," He fervently responds. Hoseok appears proud when he declares, "I'm so great at making friends, I'm sure to teach him my ways."
Yoongi suppresses the urge to laugh, "You are," he agrees. Strangely, he looks down at their handshake. Little crinkles appear at the corner of Yoongi's eyes, "You haven't let go of my hand."
And with that, his date freezes. Hoseok abruntly cleans his hand on his slacks but Yoongi looks hardly bothered. He's holding back his smile in an amused manner. Hoseok panics and furiously bows. His face morphs into an apology but Yoongi laughs harder.
A bold statement. SeokJin takes it with a grain of salt. He dryly welcomes Hoseok once more- finds his kindness has extended long enough. He loudly coughs so the attention can revert back to the MVP of the situation.
Hoseok stiffens and his head bobs. He's a pretty thing. Bronze streaks suit him immensely, and the stern gaze set on him is a challenge he won't get to see far. His eyes already spark in golden hues. He's a sun. His hair is brown, his eyes are brown, he radiates warmth. Hoseok is regrettably beautiful. Before the infatuation gets out of hand SeokJin stems over it.
Hoseok distrustfully puts distance, but unlike the sun, he's small. He's delicate compared to his shoulders, and frail compared to the power the Alpha holds.
The heir steps forward. The heir shoves his hands into his pockets. Hoseok grows colder, tilting his body defensively.
He enjoys the palpable tension between them. The prey and the predator back on scene. Hoseok still maintains a bravado, but it's an ill-practiced one. Someone like SeokJin will be able to penetrate easily. "Tough flight?"
"It was okay." Hoseok observes his face. Bravery shatters the minute he lets out a troubled sign. The heir watches his shoulders slacken, and an honest emotion flash over him.
"I didn't think you'd answer me." His lips that push out in a pout slowly dissolve into a downward slope.
"Why did you think it was a good idea?" He curiously states. It's a pity he can't kiss the frown off his lips. He parts them, and SeokJin is mesmerised by the gloss coated on them. Hoseok might not appreciate a kiss. But the urge to lick the shine off his lips is a battle he constantly fights against.
Hoseok grimly glares when a tick crosses his brow, "Someone had to take action." He angrily splutters, "And your lawyer never called, nobody knocked on my door. My manager didn't even get harassed," he points out, his eyes narrowed on the other, "I thought, why don't I do the bidding and bring myself to you?"
He coolly shrugs, "It worked didn't it?"
SeokJin doesn't contain the smile that spills from his lips. He's endearing, and standing in a dangerous territory and is still able to joke about it. SeokJin doesn't find reckless people Hoseok everyday. He smiles harder, until his cheeks hurt from the strain.
"You insisted throughout the past ten days with a medical proof for me to reach out to you, now don't fuss when I did." SeokJin bites the tip of his tongue. The elder takes a long pause, "But I'm glad you're here."
Hoseok's face is dusted pink. He's dotted with sweat and tiny freckles. He's still unconvinced. Hoseok doesn't push him but he subtly examines his face. SeokJin keeps a blank stare that the dancer continues to pick apart. It's with the hope to detect a lie, or a truth from the heir, but its a futile attempt. He'd let the dancer know exactly what is needed. SeokJin doesnt give away what he's feeling so easily.
Even when he offers a polite smile, his date dejectedly stares. Unconvinced, sure. A certain amount worried for him as well. Hoseok slumps, retreats back to his suitcases that are haphazardly piled onto the other.
"My driver will take care of your suitcases. Just. Get in the car."
Yoongi enters from the left, SeokJin from the right and then Hoseok. The limo's doors close on their own, surprising the dancer. SeokJin prefers the windows shut; he's sensitive to light falling onto his eyes. But Hoseok fiddles with the buttons, anxiously stabbing the car door, in hopes for a miracle.
"Where are we going?" He breathlessly asks. He pokes the button repeatedly, but the window doesn't budge. The driver hasn't received orders to wind down the glass. They are already on the highway, the wind will be harsher. Hoseok curses.
"You okay?" Hoseok furiously nods. He folds into a ball, head tilted to the side so it rests on the door frame. SeokJin is inclined to pat his thigh. Sympathy flows easily when directed at the Omega.
But dancer pulls taut. And as if a bomb was unanticipatedly thrown in the car, a distinct scent wafts through the whole place. Hoseok halfheardely smiles. It's enough for the heir to pull back his hand.
At first it's unnoticeable. Just ginger and crushed mint. Yoongi watches outside the window and Hoseok is occupied with the zip of his bag. SeokJin has his mind warped under a racing ache.
And then it comes. It slowly integrates into the atmospheres, becomes a nostalgic fragrance in the car. The scent of mint and ginger. And then gradually, a blown up puff of sugarcane. It's just an underline, a hidden gem under a tonne of other fragnrances. But it emphasises
The heir is pushed to face the dancer, whose rummaging through his bag to extricate his phone. Hoseok reeks of fresh ginger and soaked mint and a spoonful of sugar. It's baffling. SeokJin opens his mouth, closes it as he takes in the sourness of it and the sweetness.
The gaze prolongs beyond appropriate and the dancer curiously turns to him. He cocks his head. Yoongi is watching him surreptitiously. The Omega catches both of them gawking.
"Why are you guys staring at me." Hoseok self consciously pulls his collars up. So he's aware his scent is strong.
"I just never caught the scent of sugarcane." He replies. The ginger and mint jog a memory, but the sugary scent is new. He's reeling back, and suddenly the Omega status makes sense.
"Good to know, yeah?" He briskly responds, "Now stop looking at me."
SeokJin turns in his seat. An eerily quietness falls in the car than neither of them are eager to break. The Omega resumes his quest to search his bag.
"Hoseok ssi," Yoongi pinches his lips tight. The dancer turns to him, guarded.
It creeps like he's trying to sew it shut. Until Yoongi lips unravel into a grin,
"You're a Mint margarita." Yoongi wears an unrestrained gleeful expression at the discovery. His shoulders subtly shake.
Hoseok dryly clips, "Please stop calling me that."
Yoongi turns a shade redder. His lips twitch, "How about Mint tea?"
"I'll end you." He warns. Its a tired warning that one would take with a grain of salt. Yoongi looks pleased. His smile doesn't waver till he's sated with a hum.
SeokJin tips his head back. Plan one is done. His heartbeat is loud under his chest, and profound in his ears. His hands fly to his nape as he gently rubs.
It's strange to be back in the vicinity of him. Subtly but surely, the mark fades away in the background. SeokJin is inclined to attribute it to the Omega. It can't be any other reason. Just this morning, he was taken over the craving to claw it open. But at this instance, his pain has numbed into a mild throb.
He wonders if the mark rides the Omega on the verge of crazy too. He can feel the pain ebbing away, far away from his conscience. The car drive becomes substantially bearable now by Hoseok by the side.
"We're going to drop you at Viva La Hotel." He states. For an evil second, SeokJin wanted to signal the driver to take the long cut. He selfishly wants to eat up Hoseok's time.
"Actually I have friends here," he speaks up. His eyes dart to Yoongi and him, "If you wouldn't mind dropping me at the sidewalk I can find my own way."
SeokJin offers a dismissing note. He's thinking of hoarding the Omega, there won't be walking
The heir shoots him down, "You're not going home. I'm booking a hotel for you as we speak."
"I just said, that's unnecessary." He groans, "My friends are hospitable. They'd let me stay."
"Fine." He snips, "Take us to Highway Moon Seat Dine in. We'd work out the details when the coffee arrives."
The details of their scheme should he discussed as quickly as possible. They need to have Hoseok updated regarding the threat looming over them. The driver affirms, and they take a U turn to reach the hotel.
"That's horrible." Hoseok palpably shakes in his seat. His cheeks colour with chagrin and he fists tightly on the table. Ofcourse, the decision of his parents affects SeokJin as much as Hoseok.
As expected, his date is influenced into sympathising with him. Hoseok nodded to each detail SeomJin chose to reveal and gasped at the unfairness of it all. Hoseok's eyes turn downwards, displeased and hurt over it.
SeokJin sadly lets out angry puff of air. "This marriage needs to stop. This isn't a problem that can be solved by a union. I don't know what my parents are thinking."
Yoongi sits quietly in the corner on the same table. He props himself impersonally, even if SeokJin had stressed many times he's there for emotional support, not to be the jury of the situation. And so the producer kept his distance. He's enraptured to listen but wise enough not to give his thought regarding it. For now, it's only SeokJin and Hoseok conversing.
Hoseok squirms in his seat. He leans forward, "I'm not very keen on marrying you either." He admits. His hands cup the warm mug as he huddles on the table, "I can't have my dance career plummeting. There's so much I haven't explored- god no."
Yoongi turns to the elder with a skeptical brow. He hasn't lied to the dancer that his career would take a blow, he's just blown the proportions. SeokJin trudges on, pointedly ignoring him. "That's right. Can't have you giving up on your dreams."
The dancer takes a long sip. "They really want us marrying huh? That's crazy." He simpers. Hoseok is kind. After this is done, he'll make an extra effort to thank him more.
SeokJin sombers, "I'd appreciate it if you'd tell them no on our behalf. They think I'm irresponsible and too Liberal to not understand the sacrilegious marks." He sags, "This is a lot I'm asking of you. If you don't want to, it's fine. But I really need you in this."
They sit for the last minutes. Their lunch consists of awkward silence and clinking of spoons. It's hard to make an impression of it all. SeokJin is sure he's convinced his date as thoroughly as possible. He also knows that the proposal goes against the latter's nature. Omega or not, Hoseok appears to thrive on action and spiritual connection. They are opposites apart, not to forget. Hoseok would hate to be married off like those brides in ancient times and to no other than a prick like him. It's only a matter of time when he'll realise it as well.
Hoseok finally cleans the plate and pushes it away, "You're right. We shouldn't jump to conclusions. I'm not okay with marrying you, I'm sorry."
And oh no. No offense taken. SeokJin vigorously shakes his head. "That's fine! We can't force this to happen- I appreciate your honesty and that you're understanding me too."
From the sidelines, Yoongi curls his face into his arms.
"I'm just," Hoseok bites his lips, "I'm worried about the mark." SeokJin stills. Hoseok lifts his eyes expectantly, "How will you manage that thing?"
The bite mark is a mystery. It flames into a throb and dulls when it pleases. The timings don't match, as if it has a mind of its own. The heir does has an inkling. It rising when his emotions are. When he's in the throes of work, or famished beyond hunger, it burns mercilessly. The telltale are however slightly unreliable. The past ten days have been bad. But since the mark hadn't fully formed, he's bearing the least pain of it.
"We'll figure it out." He answers honestly. The Omega moves his cutlery away. The slight frown eases into a pleading one,
"Please do. It's excruciating." Hoseok scratches his neck. SeokJin bites his lip. Somehow, the Omega's mark is ripe and fully bonded. SeokJin feels it. Hoseok bears the brunt of it. And the connection albeit is weak, its presence worms between their lives. They are linked.
Now back to his problem.
"Two days from now, they want to meet you. You should come and we'll break this to them together." Hoseok carefully listens. SeokJin lists the requirements of the marriage, the trouble they'll have to go through to pull the stunt off.
"It was really nice seeing you." He flashes a smile. Hoseok's dimples poke out and the heir knows by it that the smile is genuine. These are the times when SeokJin hates himself. Hoseok is annoying and silly. But the kindness rooted in him is a beam of light. Hoseok rests his hand in his, youthful and beautiful on the inside and outside.
This time, he doesn't lie, "Me too."
"This was easy." SeokJin smirks. It really proved to be a piece of cake. He outdid himself. As the heir leans back languidly, a sudden wave of relief washes over him.
Yoongi grunts in response. The car speeds across the highway to reach his home. He detects the dismissing response. SeokJin actually thought he'd be proud but turns out Yoongi is letting out a sour tinge of cinnamon and oranges.
"You have a problem?"
Yoongi shoves the hand away. Something uncomfortable rests on his features. The fiasco of today is hard to digest, that's true. But while SeokJin tastes freedom on his tongue, Yoongi hesitates it even facing the elder,
"I'm just wondering what you have so against the Hoseok of yours." He forgoes accusation. The producer simply puts forth a question, attuned to his bursts of anger.
"The answer won't satisfy you." SeokJin drags, "It's nothing personal. I just can't be tied in a marriage."
He honestly cannot fathom being a family person. Marriages are for those who cherish and love each other. SelkJin has never loved anyone. His close circle is a close choice, but it isn't what Yoongi and Namjoon share. The heir has no emotions regarding love.
The drive continues in silence. The heir looks out, barely aware of what's passing. SeokJin considers himself a fast paced person. He keeps up to the business trends, the customer tastes and fashion products. And in the same way, he cruelly discards lovers because that's just what he does to products.
He gets bored and gets excited by minimum and wants the next best thing. His friends like Yoongi might be satisfied with their relationship but that can never be him.
For a long time, it bothered him. When he was a young adult, stumbling his way through life, it bothered him immensely. He had tumbled into a train of thought that maybe he's meant to be loveless. Before, it scared him. But now he knows better. He's thirty, successful and a brand maker at that. Once this is done, he'd have earned himself a well deserved break.
He vibrates on the seat. Yoongi curiously asks him. The heir muffles his smile, "I'm gonna finally say hello to my thirties."
