Chapter Text
Once upon a time, the moon was the center of the universe. For 16 hours a day, the pale, spherical orb lit up the sky with beautiful blue-white light. The plants below would bow at the emergence of it’s luminance and when it left, the plants rose and cried in mourning.
The humans below would say their rituals, thanking the moon for its grace and light and once it left, the skies changed from black, to the darkest blue, to light blue. The sun came out to grace the sky with its piercing, magnificent light.
But the sun isn’t the center of the universe. The moon was. It provided just the right amount of light for the plants and animals to live and thrive. It gave peace and hope for humankind. The moon was the balance amongst the universe. The plants, humans, oceans, land, sky, sun, everything, depended on its power.
But one fateful day, the moon vanished.
Panic spread like an epidemic across all realms, land, water and sky. Waters rose out of it’s earthly containment, as if reaching for the sky, the grounds shifted and groaned as if weeping, the air grew warm as if it were trying to hug everyone and everything, as if it were saying ‘it’s okay.’
But it wasn’t. The moon was the center of the universe, not the sun. Now that it’s gone, the balance has been broken…
Or so they say.
After the moon vanished, new life began on earth. Strange, green, items sprung from the dirt, it’s leaves stretching upward and upward without any regard. The plants stood tall and strong as if to say, ‘the sun is all, the sun is it, the center.’
But the sun isn’t the center, or at least it wasn't. But now, it is.
The sun is the center of the universe. It provides, bright light, 24 hours a day, constant sunlight for the inhabitants who had to live off the measly 8 of before. People, and animals alike, loved the new light.
One group of people, however, hated it. The people of La Noche did not care for the constant sunlight. They wanted balance, they wanted order in the universe. They believe the lack of the moon would cause disaster and destruction to all things. They wanted the moon back.
One brave boy, a child of La Noche, became determined to bring the moon back. One fateful day, he left his people, and began his journey to bring the moon back.
Would he succeed in his quest? Fate speaks many things, but the outcome is not yet known. The boy of darkness on a quest to find the light…
Interesting.
