Avalon
Yohan had been paying attention. Yohan had always paid attention. He had always paid attention to his surroundings, to Elijah and the soft buzzing of her wheels as she goes down the elevator, to Mrs. Ji with the dim click of her heels and the clog in her hands as she dust the memories away in every room she goes. To silent but still judging stares mister Butler gives Yohan. Yes, Mister Butler is a machine, there’s no way it would stare at Yohan but his brain knows best and the bloody electronic always knew how to tick him wrong. Point is— Yohan had always paid attention. And with the new addition to the Kang household, he couldn’t stop himself but pay attention to his associated Judge.
Kim Gaon.
Who would have thought Yohan would be ready to risk it all.
Gaon bared himself for Yohan to see and he enjoyed the show. With every new plate presented for them, all the new, bright and colorful dishes laid on the table for them to admired, smell and taste. The sneaky recognition from Mister Butler, Gaon was a new owner and the casual reminder of Gaon’s appointments even when Yohan wasn’t asking for him.
The recollection of Gaon singing in the kitchen, surprise was written on his face; luckily nobody was around to see it. Butler had music on, and from time to time Gaon asked for a specific song which he had thought seconds before, Butler made Gaon’s wishes a reality with a short search.
Laughter was heard when Butler had the wrong song and Gaon complained with no real malice.
«Butler, that’s not right. »
«Oh, no. I don’t know that one. »
Colorful meals followed by colorful rooms. They all knew how precious plants were to Gaon. The young one put care and love into seeing each little green grow into the lovely beings they were meant to be in his heart. Yohan even had the greenery brought home. There was no point in having Gaon traveling back and forward to his old apartment. It was better this way. Besides, Yohan would never say but feel pleased as Gaon’s expression transformed from confusion to surprise with a tint of recognition and last eager excitement in knowing his children were back with him.
“Yohan—” Awe. Pure bliss reflected in Gaon’s eyes as he called for Yohan, eyes sparkly with affection. “Thank you.” Yohan was taken aback with the clean naivety displayed in Gaon’s face. Yohan always joked how Gaon was easy to read as the young judge was not used to work in such dark place like Court nor dealing with the corrupted side of the world. Yohan though —only to himself— Gaon deserved to live in light. He might be cut for darkness but Gaon? Gaon belonged surrounded by halos of light, glitter and gold.
Yes. Gaon deserved so much more and if Yohan had been a better man, he would have followed those thoughts and granted Gaon a life without him. Without Yohan lurking from the deep shadows of the unknown.
Yohan was no better man.
So Yohan noticed. Yohan could see all the little details which made Gaon someone dear for the Kang house. Elijah’s cries when dinner wasn’t ready on time and the little requested for homemade foods and bought snacks— which sometimes she would complain how it wasn’t as good as she had heard and how Gaon could probably make a better version.
If weeks later Elijah had her wish granted. No one would bat an eye.
That’s how it all came down to this night.
Yohan watched television, not caring of what was being broadcasted. Gaon came into the studio and placed a lonely drink for him to enjoy, Gaon had a cup of warm tea at the other side of the table. The night felt chilly and they had had and easy dinner. Yohan sipped on his drink as he heard Kkomi by the door.
The cat came into the room, look at both his masters and after seconds of consideration, decided to jump into Gaon’s lap. Kkomi played, her whiskers twitching in curiosity, her voice mellow and content, purring when Gaon pet her on a good spot while in an adventurous thought, she went for a scratch at Gaon’s sweater.
“No, Kkomi.” Gaon stared down at her with concern. “You can’t do that.” Kkomi meowed indicating she wasn’t interest in what Gaon was saying, she only wanted to play with her master a little more before going to sleep. Gaon put her down and Kkomi stared. “I said no.” Gaon crossed his arms. “This is the third sweater you scratch this week.” Kkomi didn’t move for a while, only staring at Gaon as if trying to convince him to play with her a bit more, however, when she realized her master wasn’t going to pay attention to her, she moved to her next target.
Yohan felt more than saw Kkomi. The cat kept asking for attention, although she would not find it in Yohan. Yohan was a tad busy staring at Gaon.
Oblivious Gaon how still stared down at Kkomi, naïve baby deer that didn’t even imagine the darkening thoughts which were growing within Yohan’s mind. Sweet, alluring both tempting and exasperating baby deer, and right now the line was tinting toward exasperating as Yohan fixed calculating eyes to Gaon’s exposed neck.
Kkomi had scratched the sweater and even when she hadn’t broken the fabric; it was enough to rearrange Gaon’s clothes, setting free a new trace of skin Yohan had never paid attention before. Yes, Yohan still remembered how Gaon had asked for him to leave when changing. He had discovered Gaon’s skin to be not as pure as he thought; a Phoenix decorated his shoulders bringing his attention to it like tunnel vision.
Now, Yohan discovered another wonder from the lovely baby deer.
The relaxed outline of Gaon’s muscles and his long neck presenting one shy mole, peaking under the smooth fabric of the sweater, almost hiding in plain sight because for moments Yohan believed it was all a hallucination, if he blink it would disappear from his grasp. But, no. It was no mirage, it was a reality and Yohan craved to feel it underneath his tongue.
“Sir?”
— 2 —
Gaon gasped as his eyes wide at the feeling down his throat. He was grateful to still be sitting because he feared he would fall otherwise.
How come they had gone to this point?
One second they were talking about nothing important, Kkomi had come and go, asked for attention and once she was satisfied she left the room leaving them with their thought. So, how come Gaon went from making plan about the upcoming weekend to be cornered in the sofa to feel a scorching heat irradiating from his neck?
«Yohan »
The shock was impossible to hide, his back arched in surrender as his hands went to grasp for Yohan without any thought or consideration. The older could handle his body in any way he pleased and Gaon would never complain, however, mortification was visible in his cheeks as the blooming cheeks were painted with carmine. Blotchy pecks of inner life decorated Gaon’s face with heat and longing.
Gaon felt a bit ashamed of his voice. He was unable to control the impression and need. His hips moved on their own accord, swinging his body closer to Yohan as his hands held to the back of Yohan’s head scratching at his scalp with his nails. A touch of wonder and pleasure rested in his navel like a lick of fire heating his insides, electrifying his senses and making him tremble.
Yohan bit at his tender skin leaving a perfect dent which demonstrated his fascination for the tasted under his teeth, easing the pain away with a brisk touch of his tongue.
«Hyung »
Yohan could only groan as Gaon settle himself against his body with each thigh at the side of his legs. Gaon melted still shaking from the sensation.
Yohan enjoyed overwhelming Gaon’s body and mind with sensations only he could create. Reaching so high and bringing him down so low, Yohan was the only thing Gaon could crave for.
With a resting hand on his lower back, Yohan’s mouth tasted the sweetness of Gaon for one last time before finally letting go.
Oh, to be a shaken deer in the maw of a caring wolf.
