Chapter 1: Chapter 1

Chapter Text

As he walked through the halls, he couldn't help but cringe at the two of them at their lockers laughing and looking at each other with nothing but pure adoration in their eyes. Sal Fisher and Ashley Campbell, the gay emo freaks were in a relationship, a straight one at most.

Travis hated the feelings of anger he felt inside him as he saw them in the corner of his eyes as he grabbed his stuff for class.

They looked perfect, bright smiles on their faces, well on one of their faces. You couldn't see Sal's smile under his stupid mask he wore. Something in Travis' mind wondered what he looked like under that big chunk of plastic.

He quickly shut his locker and walked to his class at a fast pace, shoving his way through other students as they shouted a rude remark or gave a quick glance at him.

  "Watch it church boy!"

He didn't care much at this point, it's not like it wasn't true and it wasn't a very good insult if anything.

After several periods that passed by very slowly it was finally his last class before lunch, Algebra.

The one class he dreaded, because 1) he hated math of any kind and sucked at it and 2) it was his one and only class with Sally Face in it.

He sat down, pulling a pencil out of his pocket and setting it down on his desk. The bell was seconds from ringing when he walked in.

He hated everything about him.

The way his stupid pigtails bounced when he walked, the way his small hands were holding tightly onto the edges of his notebooks and papers, the smell of cigars and something sugary and sweet. He was wearing skinny ripped jeans, and you could see his pale skin underneath, a little red from the rips and tears pressing against his skin.

Travis quickly turned back around as the bell sounded, putting his focus on the teacher rather than some gay dude.

The bell rang relatively fast.

They were released, Travis not understanding any of the homework, and he headed to the cafeteria.

It was Wednesday which meant they were serving some soggy chicken nuggets and probably expired milk. He sat down at his table, not bothering to get any of the slop they served. The only lunch Travis liked was the bologna, and even that was starting to taste bad.

Travis sat at a table that was almost never dirty unless someone threw something at him to annoy him.

It was almost directly across from Sally Face and his friends though. Which meant that Travis got to sit through a whole 45 minutes of watching Sal and Ashley be all lovey dovey, kisses on the cheek, and holding hands under the table even though there was no reason for them to hide anything.

It seemed like the two weren't as in love as they had been two months ago when they had first started dating. The kisses on the cheek weren't nearly as often as it used to be, and they never even held hands as they walked through the halls to their classes.

Larry wasn't sitting in his normal spot, which meant he was probably in the bathroom smoking or buying drugs from some kid under the bleachers.

Sal had a tray in front of him, but he hadn't touched any of it, and Ashley didn't seem at all concerned about him not eating like she usually was. She was more focused on eating her lunch and talking to another emo girl at their table.

Mable? Maple? Something like that.

He didn't remember her name and he really didn't care that much about her anyways.

Sal had turned towards Ash and said something which he couldn't quite hear, which resulted in Ash snapping back at him and quickly turning back to the girl.

Suddenly he had gotten up and took his tray with him to the door, throwing it out on his way out.
