Chapter Text
If glares were lethal, Charles Calvin would have died an icy, painful death. Apparently though, because the world hated Henry, He was still very much alive and still very much laughing with his infuriatingly stupid, adorable voice.
'This isn't funny.' The thief signs with a scowl, tired of the other's constant teasing.
Apparently though, to Charles, Henry accidentally smacking his head on the top of the doorframe WAS indeed hilarious, because the pilot had been laughing for almost ten minutes by now. Not to mention he had gotten the whole thing on camera, and was now watching it over and over again, making sure that as soon as his laughter finally started to fade, a quiet "ack-!" from the video would start it right back up again. How wonderful.
"You uh- you have'ta admit. it IS a little bit." he chuckles with a wide grin, eyes shining in amusement.
'You are going to die a slow, painful death Mr. Calvin.' Henry deadpans, not having to admit anything for a matter of fact.
To his dismay, the glare meant to freeze fear into the heart of the enemy seemed to only earn more hysterical, sunny laughter from Charles.
"hehe- This is amazing, Ellie'll love this!-"
But they would never know if she truly would, for the pilot got cut off before he could do anything else, his phone being swiftly snatched and pocketed by Henry with a pointed look.
'You will do no such thing, asshole.' The thief signs, his scowl struggling to stay in place as the corners of his mouth slightly twitch upward.
"Awww! You're never any funnnn-" Charles whines with an overexaggerated pout, his arms crossed as the look on his face far better suited a toddler then a 28 year old man in the military.
'I'm plenty fun.' Is signed back with an eyebrow raise, scowl almost completely forgotten.
"Fun enough to watch The Lego Batman Movie with me?"
'at 24 times, Charles, it's not fun- it's concerning.' He responds with amusement, knowing fully that there's no way out of this.
"Hey, the helicopter scene in the beginning is amazing, and I will fight you on that!" The other exclaims, rushing over to the other room with a grin, before stopping and peaking back through the doorway for a moment with an unimpressed look. "and you've only seen it that many times. Don't test me with those coward numbers."
Henry rolls his eyes with a small smile, going over to the kitchen to grab some popcorn. Guess that's settled then, huh? It's not that he dislikes the movie, It's alright, but it kind of gets old around the 10th watch. Not to mention the 20th. To Charles though for some reason? Jeez. It was like those people who read the bible at least twice a week. But, with The Lego Batman Movie.
He watches the popcorn bag spin around in the microwave, absentmindedly listening to the sounds of the 28 year old grown man in the other room whose been in the military for years giggling, honest to god giggling, as he sets up a children's movie.
"Watch your head, this time !" Is cheerily sing-songed from the other room, earning a sigh from Henry as he ducks through the open door, that damnned frame missing him this time (and if He was proud of outsmarting that cursed doorway who could blame him?)
If he was being honest (and he rarely was), the thief cherished these times, kept them in a little fond part of his memories. The comforting smell of popcorn, of Charles, of the cheap soap they were given at the base. The sound of helicopter blades and the microwave beeping and quiet giggling and the fan whirring mixed with the texture of the couch and the texture of his clothes, and the touch of someone might be too much in any other situation.
Apparently though, right now?
He wouldn't trade this for the biggest gem in the world.
