Chapter Text
His uncles were pushing him to stay abstinent until after his Dark Baptism. It was a little late for that as he and Patroclus had long crossed that line. Just to further tell the Dark Lord to suck it, fucked him on the stone altar in the middle of the forest. The very altar where all offerings and such things were made to the Dark Lord. Where even he had been presented to the Dark Lord as a baby.
Patroclus looked at the image of an offering to him and him alone. Knees pushed up to his chest. His face flushed with sweat, hair forming like a halo around his head. Beautiful, absolutely beautiful.
Achilles told him as much, he only laughed. Heaven even his laugh was perfect. He was perfect.
"I love you."
Patroclus' dark eyes met his." And I love you, Achilles," he confessed, drawing him back into a kiss.

Coming down from their shared post-coital high, he had to tell him. What he was, what his family was. Patroclus hadn’t freaked out like he had thought. Instead, he laughed, the pretty sound vibrating across his chest.
When he stopped, suddenly. Patroclus still hadn’t run for the hills, screaming. That had to be a good sign, right?
“That actually makes a lot of sense, I always thought you were some kind of supernatural creature. Like maybe a vampire or a demon. Finding out you just have magical powers is actually kinda a relief," Patroclus muttered from his side, fingers drawing small circles at his chest.
Achilles sat up, to face him.
“Pat, babe I’m serious.”
“Chill, ‘chilles I know. You can’t lie for shit.” Patroclus sat up, wrapping his arms around himself. It was chilly against the stone, and being naked really wasn’t helping. Achilles wrapped his letterman around, gratefully he settled into it and his arms. Patroclus looked up at him to send him a smile that made his heart flip.
He looked so adorable wrapped up in his letterman, so vulnerable. It made him want to kiss him again, but the timing wasn’t right. They sat there in silence, until Patroclus shifted to look at him.
“Show me,” he demanded.
“What?”
“Show me what you can do. I want to see real magic.”
“Err..,” Achilles hadn’t explained to him where the source of his powers came from. That most would consider them evil. Scratch that they were evil.
“It’s not like Harry Potter, babe. They almost like incarnations.”
Patroclus’ eyes brightened even more, “ Then show me one of those.”
Achilles was honestly racking his brain for a spell that was safe enough to show him. Nothing too…Something simple.
Patroclus sighed against him, “ I believe you Achilles, you don’t have to show me if you don’t want to. It’s just so cool that you can do something so amazing. Beyond science, beyond anything explainable.”
Hearing how disheartened he sounded, decided to do it.
Under his breath, he chanted a small summoning spell. Nothing fancy, but Patroclus’ astonishment. A warm blanket covered both of them.
“How, what?!”
“You wanted proof,” he said smugly, pulling him closer, “ so I gave you proof.”
“What else can you do,” Patroclus asked, entwining himself with him, stealing his body heat.
Achilles leaned closer to him, “ I'm a man of many talents, but this especially.”
Achilles had him pinned to the altar in seconds. Patroclus snickered.
“Of course, I would expect nothing less,” he said coyly.

If there was one thing he was sure of was that he had missed his period. And that could only mean one thing…
So if he wanted to keep his sister, dad, Achilles, Achilles’ uncles, and most of the town from finding out. He was going to have to drive to Riverdale for a pregnancy test. He had to know for sure.
____________________________________________________________________
Please God just let it be late.
Please.
Patroclus paced back and forth in the pharmacy’s bathroom, glancing at the tiny window praying it was only late. He couldn’t be pregnant. They were only 17 for Christ’s sake, and his boyfriend was a witch. Warlock- his mind helpfully corrected. He was pretty sure they had used a condom, well they had gotten pretty distracted making love on an altar.
A pagan altar. Fuck.
Achilles hadn’t told him what his 18th birthday celebrations entailed but he had a feeling they were dark, cult-like. Maybe even evil.
Patroclus didn’t want to push, but he was worried. Achilles had been so far away, carrying around this anxiousness that bleed into everything. He thought it was just general school stress, but that nagging feeling hadn't faded. Now he knows why. What if this is how he lost him? The football scholarship to Notre Dame wasn’t even a concern to their relationship anymore. All of this was bigger than all of that.
The lines appeared.
Motherfucker
Fucking hell
Oh, Jesus.
Patroclus swayed a bit, catching the counter.
No, no no, absolutely not. This couldn't be real.
Oh, God, he was pregnant. Oh God, oh God, oh God. What was he going to do? He felt sick, rushing over to the toilet he emptied everything, he had eaten in the last hour. All of Pop’s delicious food came back up, this time it didn’t taste as good.
Fuck.
He was dead in more ways than one. Cleo would kill him and his father….. He slid to the floor of the bathroom. God, how would he tell Achilles? What would he say? What was he going to do?
The drive back to Greendale was an experience because of what he now knew. He cried, prayed, begged, even screamed a few times. Hit the steering wheel a few times out of anger nearly getting in a wreck. Oh, fuck fuck fuck. He was so screwed. God fucking damn it.
To make his day even worse, they were starting cross country practice.
Would it even be safe to run?
God fucking damn it.
Fuck fuck fuckity fuck. Cleo was going to kill him. Not to mention what Achilles would say. Banging his fist against the steering wheel once more. Patroclus gave himself a few more moments of pity, then he would have to get out of this car and pretend that everything was okay. No problem he had done this before. Deep breaths.
"Just make it through today", he repeated to himself quietly. He would figure something out later.

“Hey, babe.” Patroclus all but jumped eight feet in the air, when he closed his locker. Waiting for him in his glory was Achilles.
“Ah, Jesus, what the fuck?” clutching at his chest. Achilles just grinned at him. He did shit like this on purpose.
“Kils, we talked about this, no popping up out of thin air. I have a bad heart.” Achilles snickered. The corner of his eyes creased up with the movement.
“I didn’t actually pop out of thin air, I have been waiting here the whole time,” he pouted, "you were just ignoring me.”
Patroclus glanced around to see the hallway clock before pecking his lips, “Sorry babe, but I’m late. Catch you at practice.” Fuck he really was late> A whole I'm pregnant late. God hated him.
Patroclus bolted down the halls before he could even answer. Achilles gawked at him for a few minutes, but the school bell broke him out of it. Shit, now he was going to be late.

Automedon knew there was something up with Pat the moment his best friend had come into the locker room dazed and checked out. He hadn’t come to school until around 3rd period and Pat was never late to school. Ever.
“What’s up?” he asked.
Pat shrugged and went to his locker and started changing for practice. Achilles and the other football players started filing in. He caught Achilles’ eyes raking in his boyfriend's trim figure. Gaze focused solely on his ass, Automedon felt the urge to shield his best friend from his boyfriend’s lustful eyes.
Then again what good would that have done, they had been sneaking around since the summer. He had probably seen it all and then some. Achilles had been head over heels for Patroclus since kindergarten, and he saw that.
Pat and Achilles in a weird way worked, but it didn’t help that when they got together some feelings got hurt. Briseis’. She was crushed but tried to hide it. The tension had only gotten worse when it was obvious they were having sex. Dr. Cerberus’ had been their summer hangout, where they caught up.
It was in Dr. Cerberus’ dim lighting where dark purpling marks began to stand out against Pat’s dark skin. Their intimacy, no one not even a blind man could miss. Patroclus blushed more with him around, and Achilles had been no better sappy grins and hearts in his eyes. Until they were outright necking in the booth. After that it started to become Achilles and Patroclus off together. Automedon caught up with Pat ever so often when Achilles and he had pulled themselves apart. Briseis on the other hand rarely hung out with those two, splitting her time between her part-time job at Dr. Cerberus' and her Debate club. Occasionally he would hang out with her but it wasn't the same without all of them together.
He hated to say it, but Achilles had done that on purpose. He wanted to completely crush Briseis, show her that Patroclus was his and his alone. While he and Achilles were friends, he would always seek to side with Pat and Briseis first. They were the first friends he made when he moved here. And Achilles despite his All-American Athlete persona kinda gave him the creeps. No one was that perfect unless they had something to hide.
“Auto, you coming?” Patroclus asked, jolting him out of his thoughts, shutting his locker.
“Yeah.” He shut his own locker.
So what was he hiding?

Achilles stared at Patroclus much longer than it was socially acceptable to, but Holy Hell he looked really good in his track uniform. The red top brought out his dark complexion beautifully and those white shorts hugging his ass leaving his long long legs on display. Heaven, he was so perfect.
"Earth to Kils. Earth to Kils. I know your boyfriend is literally sex on legs but can you please focus? Coach will kill us if we miss another pass." Achilles breathed out slightly to keep from punching Paris, he had no right to talk about his boyfriend.
"I will just never say that again. Got it." He brushed past him to the starting line. Asshole. Right as he caught the ball, Patroclus passed around the track, legs eating up the field. He sent him a gentle smile even as his face was dripping with sweat. He sent one back. Satan those shorts.

After practice, they were both sweating hard but he had to be patient and wait for everyone else to file out. Patroclus caught his eye and blushed. Within 15 minutes; it was just the two of them. Patroclus had been driving him nuts in those tiny track shorts. They made him want to bend over the nearest surface. All the surfaces. Like the shower. Which he did yanking them down, so they rested at his knees. Patroclus had his hands bracing him against the wall, nails trying to find purchase into the slippery tile while he pounded him from the back.
Panting, Patroclus pushed his hips back, trying to increase their rhythm. He was going as fast as he could. Apparently, not fast enough.
Greedy. Achilles lightly smacked his ass, making him moan louder.
“Ssh, do you want everyone to hear how good you take it,” he breathed at his neck. There wasn’t anyone else at school this late, but he played along.
“I don’t care, I want them to hear.”
“Do you?,” Achilles whispered, seeing how he wanted to play.
“Yes,” he breathed, “ now fuck me like you mean it and stop holding back. I can tell when you're not putting your all into it.” He clicked his tongue.
Bossy.

Even after their shower together, they still couldn't keep their hands off each other. Patroclus had pulled him under the bleachers where they made out for a bit until Patroclus pulled away from him. Eyes filling with tears.
"I can't do this, I can't pretend everything is alright," he said, tears coming even faster now. It was too much, how could Patroclus tell him. Tell him what he was really thinking. That he considered it.
He wasn't, was he? Achilles felt as if time had slowed, Patroclus wanted to break up with him. Why?
"Are you breaking up with me?" Seriously, right after they...He tried to stop himself from crying.
Patroclus looked up at him startled through tears, "How could you even think that, I-lo." His sobs became even harsher.
"But you probably will when I tell you."
"I won't."
"You will." He wasn't going to, not after everything it took just to be with him. The nerves it took to ask him out, and the rules Achilles was breaking all because he loves him.
"Yes, you will." Achilles was getting nowhere with this back and forth.
"Then tell me what's wrong, why are you crying? Did I do something to make you cry."
Patroclus sniffled, wiping his eyes on the arm of his sweater, " No, you didn't. I promise I'm just really overwhelmed right now. Achilles I-."
He took another breath, stepping away from him,"Nevermind, Let's just go home."
Achilles grabbed his arms, "Just tell me okay. I won't be upset, I promise." Heaven this was going to drive him up the wall.
Patroclus bit his lips, he had tried everything to forget what he had learned this morning. He had considered all of his options.
"No." Patroclus, refused he would have to… could he?
Frustration was bubbling up and threatening to boil over. Achilles was tempted to cast a truth spell to get it out of him, but at times his magic could be volatile especially when his emotions weren't stable. He instead pulls him into a kiss, Patroclus struggled a bit before he fell into a rhythm with him.
"Mmh," Patroclus muttered, "stop." Achilles did as he asked but he still held him to his chest, tilting his chin upward
"I love you Patroclus, and I would never do anything to hurt you. Please trust me with this."
Patroclus' eyes glistened with tears, "I-I was so sure. I mean we were always so careful, but I-I screwed up, this is going to ruin everything-," and at that he broke down against his chest.
"I'm sorry, I'm so sorry. I-I."
Achilles didn't push him, but just held him as he cried. He had only ever seen him break down like then was when his drunken father had pushed his sister down a flight of stairs. So whatever it was, it was bad.
After a while Patroclus had finally stopped, his shirt was all wet with tears and snot but he didn't mind.
Achilles gently drew back to wrap his Letterman around him, "Let's get you home, okay?" If Patroclus wouldn't tell him now there was always later.
"Wait, Achilles I-," Patroclus muttered against him.
"Impregnant." He said it so fast, it took him a moment to process.
Wait.
WHAT?!
Holy Hell. Now it was his turn to panic. Oh Satan, Patroclus was pregnant. What in the False God's name were they going to do?
At his reaction Patroclus seemed to crumple in even more, he had to reassure him that they would work things out. But he couldn't find the words, Patroclus spoke instead, "I just found out this morning, I have options." At his words he felt his heart squeeze, he had already decided. Satan, why.
"What did the doctor say?" That explains why he was so late this morning, however none later behavior made any sense. Running while pregnant was he crazy? Crap, they had even had sex. Could that hurt the baby? Maybe he didn't care.
Patroclus shook his head, "No, I went to Riverdale and took a pregnancy test in the pharmacy."
"Are you sure it's accurate?" Boxed tests had a tendency to give inaccurate readings if you took them too early.
" It was right because my period is late. I know. Achilles trust me. I know my body better than anyone. I'm pregnant. I'm just unsure how many weeks I'm and if it's too late for an abortion." Patroclus seemed resigned to the fact that it seemed as if it was his only choice.
Achilles tentatively posed a question, "Is that what you want? Truly? If it is I'll support you." Just saying that made his heart hurt, children were highly valued in their community. They were loved and doted upon with the uttermost care and devotion. If he wanted Achilles could make sure he or she went to a loving couple.
Patroclus sighed against him, "No, Achilles it isn't. I want a baby, but the timing isn't right. We're graduating this year and next year you're going to Notre Dame and I don't want you to give this up for me because of my fuck up."
Achilles wrapped his arms around him, " Hey in case you forgot it takes two people to make a baby. I helped," Patroclus glanced up and to kind of lift his spirits wiggled his eyebrows, " I mean I really helped. I'll be with you the entire time, " Patroclus chuckled a little, but the mood was still heavy with uncertainty. A baby. Fuck.
"Are you sure Achilles this is a big thing? Babies are permanent, no takesy backsies." Of course, he knew that.
"Yeah, we'll be okay. I promise you, babe. And when have I ever led you wrong."
Patroclus wanted so badly to say that letting Achilles lead him places is what got him pregnant in the first place.
"Alright, I trust you." He would just do this once, trusting that they would be okay.
Achilles' smile was beautiful and even more touching was the way he placed his hand on his stomach.
"I love you." He said leaning down.
"I love you too," Patroclus responded, closing the gap.
The kiss had gotten so heated, that when Achilles pulled away he whimpered.
"Why did you stop?"
Achilles tilted his head, in an innocently annoying way " Because you're pregnant."
Patroclus rolled his eyes,"Didn't stop you or me earlier."
His green eyes widened," I didn't know earlier."
"Well now you do, so come on."
This time he smirked, drawing him closer,"Has anyone told you that you're wicked? Absolutely wicked. "
"You." Patroclus teased back.
Honestly, that had gone better than he had expected, Achilles had taken it well. Dare he says almost too well, already he is planning names, even scheduling his appointment at Riverdale General. They would have to continue to drive an hour back to Riverdale but it was worth it to keep everyone from finding out.
Now he just had to find a way to tell his sister. She was going to be so disappointed in him.
__________________________________________________________
When Patroclus dropped him off. Achilles immediately went into his room, sat on his bed, and had a miniature breakdown.
Patroclus was pregnant.
There was no coming back from that and Hell help him, there was no telling what his uncles would say. Oh, Heaven, Patroclus was in danger, if his father found out it could be the end of him and his baby both. Another set of stairs, and it would be over. Cleopatra had only survived due to the protective spells his family cast on them. Patroclus got a renewal each time he came over. Achilles didn't care how much magic he used, he had to be safe.
Achilles wondered if Ajax would be willing to help him find one that was more powerful. It didn't hurt to ask.
Ah, fuck he forgot about that pesky rules that he couldn't have sex until his Dark Baptism. Well shit. Achilles flopped onto his bed well whatever. The Dark Lord could get pissed for all he cared. Achilles would cross that bridge when he came to it. Or he could run away with Patroclus and their baby and be happy.
_________________________________________________________
Being a pregnant teenager was annoying and uncomfortable. He slept in nearly all of his classes, thankfully Automedon took great notes.
At lunch devoured his lunch, Achilles, Auto, and Briseis and after all of that, he was still starving. Growing a tiny human being was hard work. He just thanked God that he hadn't had any nausea but the trade-off was that he always had to pee.
These next few months were going to be Hell. Especially more when he started showing. But for now, it was nice just keeping things between him and Achilles. Except that Achilles was being kind of smothering in a very awkward way. It was sweet but also very annoying.
"Achilles, I'm fine, you don't have to worry," he stated shutting his locker. Good grief he was starting this again.
"You're running again, how can I not worry." Achilles rolled his eyes, his bf was being reckless. Patroclus was still in the early stages, he could miscarry if he put too much stress on his body.
"I'm late Achilles, you're holding me up. Plus, people are going to think we're doing something inappropriate."
"We aren't," Achilles said this but his eyes told a different story, they glanced at his lips.
Patroclus licked them to tease him, "Yet."
"I'm fine, I'll be careful," Patroclus said, kissing him, and yet again he had lost. Achilles took a few moments to breathe in deeply, preparing the incarnation.
Let nothing but light and love touch him. Let nothing linger or befall him. Protect what is mine and if harm comes return it to whence it came.
A simple spell, something his uncle had taught him. However, it was his favorite because if another person attempted to hurt Patroclus, the spell would come back twice as revengeful. Only a few times he has actually seen it happen. A senior ruptured his Achilles' tendon-ha when he tried pushing him down in the hallways. Another time his father had broken his arm, trying to slap him. However, he wondered if there was a limit to it protecting their baby. This is why he didn't want him to run track, anything could happen to him.
"Pelides! Get your ass out here it isn't a beauty contest." Aw, fuck Coach Menelaus was going to make him run extra at practice. Unless nope he had used enough magic for today. The rest was reserved for his family.
Patroclus sighed contentedly again. Was it just him? But he was faster than ever if he kept this up he could bring the team to national.
