Tonight was a movie night. It was Friday. Outside, the sun was long gone and the cold has came to stay, fall was finally there. Since Jakob had moved in, Jean didn’t have always the choice of the movie. It was a good thing, she said. There were a lot of classical movies she had never heard of and as an open-minded person, she could see the benefits of giving it a try. Tonight was different, Ola was home, and she had brought Lily. Those two were truly adorable. After a year of seeing them together, Jean definitely concluded that Lily, if certainly strange, was also a very fascinating girl, and yes, she had indeed read some of her comics. After high school, Lily had been admitted to art school, and having her in the family did not help the young girl to stop a blossoming addiction to alien erotism. From the start, Ola had been her first supporter, going to study cultural médiation but always finding time for her girlfriend.
But tonight, It was movie night, and with a new little sweetheart in her hands, Jean let her family choose the movie, and really, whatever they would want to watch.
“Honey, do you think you will be ready soon ?” Jakob asked from the sofa.
“One minute, I haven’t finished pumping for tomorrow and Joy is still in her dirty nappies, could you please take her ?”
Jakob was helping and he was a wonderful father. Compared to Remi, pretty much everyone would be a good father, but Jakob was truly incredible, thoughtful, and so patient. Ola wasn’t home often, and she knew he wanted to use as much time as possible to be with her. It wasn’t a problem and surely understandable, but right now, she was craving popcorn and the time was flying (and popcorn was always better freshly made). He passed through her, gently caressing her neck in the process, taking Joy shortly after. “Are you ready now ?” He asked softly.
“Getting there. Okay, I think I’m good. Those two sore feeders won’t give more for now.” Jean chuckled.
“Jean, where is the all-in-one of Joy ?”
“Just over there on the table, I’m going on the sofa. Thank you.” She said to him, stroking delicately his back, smiling at Joy, who seemed really excited and tapped her little foot on the arms of her father.
Jakob just smiled and nodded. Jean had not been used to share parenting. Shortly after Otis’s birth, Remi was nowhere to be found. Mostly raising her sweet little boy as a single mother, Otis didn’t have the chance to know this loving and unconditional father/child bonding. She stopped and stayed a little longer, just to admire this man, her man. She had been pleasantly surprised when she had learned that Otis now asked regularly advices from Jakob. Who would have thought that her pregnancy would bring not on but three new members in the very restricted family of Otis Milburn.
“Jean ?” Jakob had Joy in arms with a sweet smile drawn on his face, staring at her, waiting for an answer.
“Oh yes, I’m sorry, I was thinking.”
“As always.” Jakob chucked. “Come on, popcorn is waiting for you.”
Smiling, she took her precious snack and walked to the sofa, making a relieved sigh while making herself comfortable at the end of it.
“So, what are we watching tonight ?”
“X files !” Lily answered, excited.
“Is it the TV show that inspired your tattoo ?” Jean asked, turning to Jakob.
“It is this very same, yes. We talked about it with Lily and you need to watch if from the start, before you say there is “way too many seasons”, It is my mission : that you watch it until the last season with me.”
“Actually, I never said this series had “too many seasons” Jakob. But as a sex therapist, I found it frustrating and very unlikely that the two main characters wait at least seven years to finally act with their sexual attraction to each other.”
“That’s what smut fan fictions are written for.” Lily said, as a matter of fact.
“Lil…” Ola started.
“What, you agreed with me, “too much tension, at least we have smut”"
“I know, but I’m not sure Jean is interested to talk about it right now.” Ola answered, uncomfortable.
“Oh, I certainly am.” Jean started with a new enthusiasm, facing the girls.
Jakob, as the great parental figure, puts the X files on, and shushed everyone.
“But…” Jean started and stopped immediately, shushed again by Jakob.
“We will eventually talk about all of that later babe.”
Resigned, she took Joy from Jakob and put herself on his chest.
“Can’t we at least pass the opening ?”
“NO !” The majority answered as a cry from the heart.
“Okay…” Jean sighed.
After that, Jean started to enjoy the storyline, but she was still trying to completely understand what was happening. The two pretty FBI agents arrived in Alaskan research team. Isolated, they were investigating the suspect deaths in the scientific base. A strange parasite (created with objectively bad special effects) got under the skin to kill people. They were currently blaming each other, trust no one and all of that. She had to admit it was an enjoyable episode, and the tension between the two agents…
“Come on !” Lily said frustratingly to the screen, where Scully and Mulder were checking each other’s necks.
“That could certainly be the start of a good and relieving session of se…”
“Jean.” Jakob warned.
“What, am I wrong ?”
“You’re not, but Jean…” Jakob kindly said once again, nodding knowingly in the direction of Lily and Ola.
Jean pouted as she watched the screen again.
“Can I say that they are really pleasant looking ?” Jean smiled tentatively.
“Oh, okay, you obviously can. ” Ola chuckled.
Joy started to whimper. Jean tried to sooth her. The whimper did not stop.
“Okay, I guess it is time for this young girl to sleep in her bed. Would you like to suckle at mummy first ?”
“Do you want me to go and give her a bottle instead, honey ?” Jakob asked.
“Stay with the girls, I will do it.”
Jean got up, kissed Jakob’s forehead and went to the stairs. She came back just before the end of the episode. Scully and Mulder were rescued from the base in Alaskan, it was the blond scientific who had killed the one in the freezer. The only way to cure the infection was to put another worm because with the one already in the body they will kill each other.
“Okay, this episode was great.” Jean said before yawning.
“Of course he was.” Jakob smiled, he then kissed Jean’s left temple. Do you to want to go to sleep ?
“I think I can wait a little longer.”
“Girls, are you going to bed ?” Jakob asked.
“Actually, dad, I think we will watch another episode.” Ola smiled.
“Okay, I can’t stay awake for another one, I’m out.” Jean got up, she felt his eyes on her. “Jakob.” She warned while raising her eyebrows.
Jakob did try to not stare at her back, but had lovingly failed. Je s’appelle groot. He just smiled and got up too, placing lightly his hand on the small of her back.
“I will come too. Good night girls, don’t stay up too late !”
“You don’t need to speak so loud, you are still close to us. Good night to you too.” Ola said.
They had the sofa for themselves now, and Ola took the opportunity to lay down and put her feet on Lily’s lap.
“Yes, good night ladies.”
Ola and Lily said good night and the older couple started to climb the stairs. Jean suddenly stopped and turned to the girls.
“Oh, one last question, if I know what smut means, what does smut fictions is related to ?” Jean smiled curiously.
“Actually, it is really simple, it is erotic scenes written in fan fictions.” Lily answered, eating some popcorn.
“That is interesting. Where can I read those fictions ?”
“Jean.” Jakob warned, for the third time this evening.
“If you search Scully and Mulder smut on the internet, for example, you will find a lot of choices.”
“Thank you Lily, Jakob did you knew that ? There is so much potential in this.” Jean seemed amazed.
“Yes babe. Can we go to bed now ? Your computer is in our room, you could check that in there ?”
“Yes, please ?” Ola asked, nodding at her dad.
Let Lily and Jean in a room together, they would probably start to build a Donjon. Lily looked at her girlfriend, and she knew right away that she couldn’t give recommendations about some good smut now. She sighed and nodded.
“Okay, let’s go to bed.” Jean finally said, smiling at Jakob who was looking lovingly at her from the top of the stairs.
Everyone in their own space, between X files and the blankets, they finally could enjoy the end of this movie night. Separately this time.
