Chapter Text
-My king is here- was the whisper that left her lips after the maid returned the infant, it was intimate, a unique moment in which the only participants were her and her son, her progeny, future king of the black lands.
The day she discovered about her pregnancy was historic, it had been marked by the stars and ancient gods, predicted again and again in different lands over time. That day the priests, sorcerers, sorceresses and kings of other lands came to it, all consciously or unconsciously called to pay homage to the future lord, but more importantly, to the sacred lineage from which he descends. And if that night she received the visit of a spectrum of ancient times with features similar to hers, it was only part of her rites.
3 hours after the birth they found her in her chambers, planning the future of their domains, remembering the past. It had been during the gloom of the caustic night that his father took him to meet Amser, preacher of the winds, she would tell him about her future. -"You will have many children, my lady, but you will only bring one to term– "That does not make sense, as it would be, then, that I will have many children, if I will only give birth to one?" - "So it has been and so it will be, oh! My lady, you are mother of Kings-.
The pregnancy for Janet was a surprise, but not in the sense that she didn't expect to be pregnant, no, she has been waiting for eons, she didn't expect to be pregnant at such an inopportune time, she wasn't supposed to be, she hadn't managed to re-establish her empire yet, her faithful didn't have a safe place to congregate! But they would, she is a queen and will raise and destroy empires for her children, in addition, with the news of her pregnancy many allies will come out of hiding.
The time of pregnancy was accompanied by many alliances, reunions and old honorific vows renewed, but above all by visions and memories. Her times ceased to be hers and began to be of others, her mansion went on to become castles and palaces and cities in themselves, time stopped going with her, instead she began to go with time. And every night during the gloom I heard a voice saying "Mother of Kings".
Going into labor was a contradictory act in itself, she is sure that the nurses would qualify it as a disembodied event, but it is not true, both her body and her mind were fully conscious throughout the event, but the event itself was not there, it was as if she had given birth to hundreds of children instead of one and, at the same time, as if she had not given birth at all. After the nurse handed over her son, her firstborn, her prince, she bring him closer to herself and whispered, "My king is back."
