How Could I Forget?

Summary:

Both sides, good and evil, face off one last time. Time doesn't work here, its everything and nothing at once. And for at least one person, sides stopped mattering a while ago too. Alternatively, when the scout falls for the scouted.

Hints vaguely at previous canon death, but we are going to ignore canon like Napoleon ignored the weather.

Work Text:

You've said loving something was just slowly forgetting everything you didn’t like about it, but I've not forgotten a single one of your freckles or the hint of your upturned lips. I haven't forgotten how you got into cars like your legs might not fit if the seats were any closer. I haven't forgotten the tick tick tick of that silly, expensive watch or the thump thump thump of your heartbeat when you softly murmured instructions to your wayward crew.

I didn't need to forget your voice or your walk. Didn't need to forget your nose, your eyes, the lines of your neck or the way your hair curled just slightly behind your ears. Didn't need to forget how your adams apple bobbed when you swallowed. Didn't need to forget how you carried yourself.

I didn't need to forget how polite you always were or how you cared for your employer, your friend. Didn't need to forget how you calmly accepted to share responsibility for his fiance no matter what. Didn't need to forget how uppity you could be if given the chance or how good you were at picking wines.

I guess loving you meant forgetting I was not supposed to like any part of you. But I can't even dislike the whisps of your breath in this dead of night while your employer hums murder in your ear. I'd turn that gun on myself before ever shooting you.
