Work Text:
Music floods the small room and my eyes remain on you, and only on you.
You dance to their rhythm, with your arms floating above your head and your waist moving slowly. Your eyes remain closed and all I can do is look at you, watch as your mouth silently sings the lyrics of that song that you love and listen to so often. Because you steal my attention.
The beer bottle that remains in my hand still has a little of the drink and I brought it to my mouth to drink it, feeling the cold liquid go down my throat; You had come to my studio to visit me with beer and fried chicken, and I couldn't refuse. I can never deny you.
The song ends and you open your eyes, connecting your gaze with mine. A smile pulls your corners upwards and your footsteps direct you in my direction, where you stop in front of me.
"Baekhyun..." you whisper slowly, and a chill runs through my body completely.
Your voice has always had great power in me, and you know it very well. From the first moment your melodious voice floated over my ears and caressed my mind, to the moment I felt my body become light in that unlucky bar where you performed that night, from that moment I knew your voice was your magic.
On our first date I asked you to sing for me, and the melody of your voice left me floating through clouds. When I asked you to be my boyfriend you sang for me without asking you while your hands slipped through my hair, stroking it. And when we got married you gave me the opportunity to sing with you; With your bright eyes that have stars floating in your iris, with your lips that moved subtly against the microphone and looked like leaves falling on an autumn afternoon, with your voice, the one that just listening to it created universes around us.
I lost myself in your eyes again, imagining the future that awaited us when you sat on my lap, sinking your fingers into my hair.
"Baekhyun," you called me again, and my free hand wrapped around your hip, hugging you. "What do you think about?"
"In you."
I whispered, even though I wanted to tell you that I thought of your bright eyes where I was always lost. On your thin lips, those to which I became addicted. To your soft skin, which when caressed feels like caressing clouds. In the moles that adorn your body, those that form constellations on your back. On your fingers and how it calms me when you hide them in my hair and gently massage my head. In your hands, the ones that fit so well against mine. In your ideas, the ones you told me every night while I hugged you tightly.
In you, and only in you.
"You always think of me," you brought your face close to mine and pressed our foreheads together, making my breath mingle with yours and my heart beat faster than normal. "You always think of me..."
"I always do," I said before closing my eyes.
Because it was the truth, you invided my thoughts all the time, your name always escaped from between my lips and your face was always drawn in my mind. I had been in love with you for so long that I couldn't imagine someone more perfect than you, than your cat smile and your golden feelings, with your crazy ideas and your dreams so incredible, with your heart so noble and with such a beautiful soul.
Then I brought my hand to your face and caressed your cheek carefully, raising my head a little until we joined our lips in a kiss; one slow and sweet, one loving and loving. And at that very moment I could feel how our hearts beat in the same symphony, how our souls held hands and began to dance around us, leaving a path of light in their footsteps.
And, at that moment, I corroborated again that we are soulmates, that a red thread linked our little fingers and that it belonged to you completely.
"Jongdae... I love you," I whispered over your lips and could feel you smiling, bringing our lips back together.
"I love you too, my love.”
