Where is everyone? I just woke up and I can't find anyone. Usually, I'll wake up and one of my Mates would be in the room with me. If they're not, then 'Tri, Heidi, Al, Lix, Corin, Chelsea, Afton, Santiago or Renata would be here to tell me why they aren't. Sometimes, though not often, one of my Dads would be here. Dad's here the most but Daddy and Papa come sometimes too... I walk to the throne room and see my family. All of my Fathers and all of my Mates are in the room as well as Al, 'Tri, Lix, Corin, Heidi, Chelsea, Afton, Santiago and Renata. They all look at me as I enter. My Mates and Papa look mad, Daddy and my Siblings look sad and Dad just looks like he's reluctantly given up hope. What's going on here? "Dad? What's going on? Why does everyone look like they did after you had to put off the tour group last month?" A few people chuckled at this and Dad smiled. Jane and Athenodora had thrown a fit when they'd been told that their feeding had to be pushed back three days. They look forward to it as it only happens once a month.
"We've received some alarming news about the Cullens." I thought for a minute.
"Is that Carlisle's Coven? The larger Coven that kills Bambi and friends?" Dora and Papa smiled as everyone else chuckled or laughed.
"Yes, sweetie. It is." He held his hand out to save explaining it and I took it. I see their plan in Dad's mind.
I think about my past and everything that happened before I met my Vampire family. When Heidi's tour group showed up in the castle with me and Renee (my so-called Mother), I was four. My life was horrible at that point. Charlie was the best thing in my life before then and he ended things with Renee and left us both when I was two because he found out I wasn't biologically his. Renee had cheated on him with his best friend, Billy Black. He hadn't wanted to leave me but he had no legal claim to me so he couldn't take me with him. He then confronted Billy and Billy's wife found out. She only stayed with him because of their six-month-old son, Jacob Black, and their two other Daughters, Rebecca and Rachel. Renee then had us move away and started to abuse me a lot, both physically and verbally. She even hired a guy about a month before I met my Vampire family to rape and murder me. He only managed one of the two before I managed to get away from him (when my Mates found out they tracked him down, tortured him for two weeks and killed him). My mind shifts to how I met them.
I try to not look around as the tour group makes its way through the castle. I'm not stupid even if Renee hasn't let me go to school. I know if I look someone in the eyes or where I'm not supposed to or if I make a noise to draw attention to myself, Renee will beat me when we leave. I haven't spoken a word in my entire life and I can't even count to five. However, as we enter the throne room, I can't help it. I looked up and into the red eyes of the guy on the middle throne and he gasps. I see his lips move super fast for a split second before a girl and a guy come up to me. "Hi. Those ten or under are not allowed to stay for this part. I'm afraid you'll have to come with us until it's over and then we'll bring you back in, okay?" I look at Renee but don't make eye contact.
"Go on then. Don't get into trouble." I can hear in her tone that I'm gonna get beaten later. It'll just be worse if I make trouble. Not that I ever would. I nod and leave with the boy and girl. It makes sense. I was the only child under eleven in the group but I don't get why those ten and under couldn't stay. After a few minutes of walking, I hear distant screaming. Maybe it was scary and that's why they don't want young children there? They're afraid they'll give the children nightmares?
"I'm Alec, by the way. This is my Sister, Jane." He points to the girl.
"Hi," she speaks for the first time and her voice is that of an angel's. I can't help it. I need to know if she looks like an angel too. I look up and meet her eyes. She's gorgeous. Her eyes widen just as the guy on the throne's eyes had. I look at Alec and make eye contact with him. Why does everyone here have red eyes? They take us back into the throne room and I make eye contact with the other two guys on the thrones as Jane and Alec hold their hands out to the guy in the middle throne and he takes them for a second before dropping them. He holds his hand out to me and I take it. Maybe it's some weird way of shaking hands of his? I instantly see all of his memories and past thoughts. What was that? Is he a Vampire? His memories say so. And what they did to Renee and the others from the tour group... Good riddance. After what she did, she deserved to suffer. He can do what I just did.
"I can't see anything. She's just... Magnifico!" He can't? But why not? I concentrate on letting him see and he gasps before letting go of my hand. "That's... She's Gifted. She could choose to let me see and instantly saw my memories and past thoughts when we touched as I should've for her. She... She copied my Gift! We need to get Eleazar here as soon as possible to help us find out what her Gift is capable of."
"No. As much as I want to see Charlie again, I don't want to go to high school or be around Bambi killers. I want to stay here with my family."
"Bella, none of us want you to leave but our informants have told us that Edward Cullen is planning on dating a Human at his school called Angela Weber. His Coven has been travelling around and going to high school over and over again for a while now. Almost every time a Human ends up dead. Usually by Jasper Whitlock, which I don't fault him for. He can feel and manipulate emotions. Therefore, he can feel the bloodlust of everyone in his Coven as well as his own. However, this time, it's a really small town where everyone knows everyone. If they end up killing this girl or she finds out what we are, in which the law states they should kill or turn her, they will disappear when she does and it won't be hard to figure out they're the cause of it. We can't risk it, Bella. And, if they don't kill her, they will break the law. Carlisle's Coven only turns those close to death. We need to know if they'll break the law."
"What about my Shifting?" A few days after meeting my family, I got really sick. Then, I burst into a Wolf. "You don't expect me to join their Pack, do you?"
"No. However, as the Granddaughter of Ephraim Black, you could become their Alpha. Pretend it's your first Shift a few days after the first day at the high school. Hide your Shifter scent until you do. You'll have to use your copycat Gift to copy what happened before your first Shift as the time you spent on the Rez told you all about Shifting (other than the sickness before Shifting but we can assume that's how the process works). Look, Bella... We'd send a different Human but then we'd need to send Vampire protection. It looks suspicious and their thoughts would give them away. However, with your Gift, they won't be able to find you out through your thoughts and we won't need suspicious Vampire protection with you because you can copy Vampires' Gifts and because of your Shifter strength and speed. Please. We need your help. This can be your first official mission." Well... I was always complaining about how I don't get to help or get sent on missions. And, I can still come back for the holidays...
"Fine." Jay helps me pack some stuff for the mission and Heidi comes and gives me a new credit card (naturally, my family want to ensure that I can have whatever I want without worrying about money so it has about two and a half billion dollars). She tells me I can have my car and my bike shipped as long as I say they were presents from one of Renee's exes as I'm to pretend Renee died recently and that her death is the reason I'm moving to Forks. Charlie's number hasn't changed over the years so I call him and he's very excited for me to come and live with him. I have my vehicles shipped immediately so they'll arrive a few hours after I do. Charlie had ensured me there is enough space and that he has a garage now. He had installed one after Renee left and expanded the house. I get my own bathroom now and my room is bigger than it used to be. He said I can use the garage whenever I want which is good because I love fixing cars. I decided to make a game out of my mission so I don't get bored. Every time the Cullens screw up, The Volturi get a point. Every time they do something right, the Cullens get a point. I'm mainly just keeping track of the strikes against them, though. As well as the points for each individual Cullen (if they do a good thing, they get a point and if they do a bad thing, they lose a point).

Jessica explains the Cullens to me. Rosalie and Alice are hot. Nowhere near as hot as my Mates but still... Edward seems like an asshole but Emmett reminds me of Lix and Jasper reminds me of 'Tri. I miss my family.

I walk into my first biology class and Edward freaks out. He's holding his nose and everything. Her blood... It's... I NEED it. Just a little taste. I just need to-- No. Don't breathe. You can handle it. It's fine. It's only an hour and then you can leave. Think of all the Humans around. Why can't I read her thoughts? Is she...? My Mate. - Edward. Woah, what? I'm very clearly his Singer. Has Carlisle not explained the difference between a Singer and a Mate to his Coven? One point to The Volturi. And negative one point for Carlisle.

I go to school the next day pretending to be sick. I told Charlie that I want to go to school because it's my first week. I let out some of my Shifter scent when I'm not at school. The Cullens did something right, though. Edward's not in today. One point to the Cullens. I pretend to be sick for the next three days before escaping into the forest behind the house and Shifting. I immediately hear voices in my head asking who I am. Hi. I'm Bella Swan. Who are you people and why are you in my head? - Bella.
Chief Swan's Daughter? I'm Sam Uley. - Sam.
A girl Shifted? That's not supposed to be possible. How did she Shift anyway? She's not from the Rez. - Paul.
I'm biologically Billy Black's Daughter. He's from the Rez. - Bella.
Sorry for Paul. I'm Jared. We're in your head because you just became a Werewolf like us. - Jared.
