“…Purifier……”
Cale peeked at Mary after hearing Olivia call him by that title. Mary gently blinked as if to tell him that she was the one to tell her. Cale looked back at Olivia.
‘Mm.’
He debated what to do before answering honestly.
“Purifier is indeed one of my names.”
Olivia’s eyes opened even wider.
Cale didn’t know why she was even more shocked now but continued to speak honestly to share his intentions.
“I came to stop the erosion of this world.”
“…To save this world……?”
Cale thought about the words Imperial Princess Olivia barely managed to mutter before nodding his head.
‘Taking care of the Hunters should stop the erosion of this world to a degree. In that sense, it is true that I came to save it.’
Cale calmly nodded his head.
“I guess you can see it that way.”
Cale conceived for the tiniest instant of sharing something else, a reason far more private and weighty than any other for him.
‘To see someone I love again.’
But he didn't. He didn't try to convince himself that it was because of a lack of trust with Olivia, nor out of fear of what any of his friends would think. No, he just... he wanted to keep Choi Jung Soo to Sui Khan and himself, he didn't want to share his feelings for him with anyone else.
In the end, Cale had already learned his lesson, if he wanted to get something with all his heart, he couldn't let even the gods know, otherwise, he would never get it.
