Chapter Text

The day started off normally.

Enid had bid farewell early in the morning. She and Ajax had planned to go to town today much to Wednesday's sudden frustration. She still hadn't known for the sudden shift in emotions - disgusting - these days. After the incident that almost cost their lives, everything had been normal.

At least, that's what she thought.

The blonde still annoyed her but with more intention this time. They still bickered, she threw half-hearted murder threats which were brushed off with a grin or a laugh, and they would sometimes gaze at the sky quietly, just enjoying each other's company.

So what has changed? She's known to be good at investigations and finding out the truth. This was no exception. So, she tried to find books and other sources for the sudden changes and the way her body reacts which displeased her to a high degree. The spiders making her stomach churn as if filled with venom, the way her heart would speed up slightly as if being forced to watch Enid's videos from a tube on the internet and how she'd find herself staring longer than necessary.

Thing has signed she was in love.

It has been an hour since he was inside the damn drawer.

Wednesday huffed as her fingers stopped typing. The room was quiet and peaceful, just what she likes. Yet, the absence of nonsense blabbering and annoying smiles has made her a bit…lonely.

She needed to find an answer - she refused to acknowledge Thing's response - and find a cure.

Or, you know, just put a bullet through her head.

Wednesday stood up from her seat and decided to head down to get lunch. Much to her dismay, her body needed something to continue functioning. As much as she adored death and would welcome her with her whole, black, dead heart she would rather die with something of significance than a simple case of appendicitis. What would her mother think?

As she walked down the hallway, Bianca had just come out of what she remembered as Yoko's room. She spared a short glance and the siren was already looking at her with furrowed brows. She continued walking, ignoring the click-clack of heels getting near.

"I'm surprised your werewolf isn't wagging their tail following you like a lost puppy," the siren was already beside her, a good distance away. She would have preferred a quiet walk and much to her annoyance, the girl seemed to have no plan in walking away without an answer.

Good Lucifer, were teenagers really unbearable at this stage?

"She's with that gorgon boy in town. They're most likely sucking each other's faces. A disturbing thought, really," she replied. Bianca looked amused. What was hilarious with her response?

"You know," the Queen Bee started, "I always thought you and Enid would be the ones dating."

She stopped. Just in time before she accidentally fell down the stairs by being caught off guard. So naturally, she did what anyone would normally do.

"Why?" she said, a blank expression in place. Despite her nonchalant tone, she was curious. Her? And Enid? As a couple?

The idea was…disgustingly-

….cute.

Fuck.

Bianca just smiled even wider, a mischievous glint in her aquamarine eyes, "I dunno, because you'd kill anyone who'd touch you with a ten foot pole? Yet, you'd let her drag you anywhere? Not to mention you threaten anyone who talks about her scars and you'd murder Ajax if he does anything to your 'roommate'?" She didn't miss the emphasis on roommates. She was about to rebut when Bianca continued, "And, it was a bit obvious the werewolf had a thing for you too."

Good Lucifer.

Her tongue seemed to be tied as she felt the familiar spiders in her stomach, making tiny webs as if it were their home.

"Enid likes me?" it was more breathless than she had wanted and judging by the siren's smirk, it didn't go unnoticed.

"Guess there's one thing I'm better at than you, Addams."

Enid had skipped her way back to their dorm as she waved goodbye to Ajax. The day was going well for her. Excitement bubbled up in her chest as she thought of her grumpy roommate who was most likely typing away at her typewriter.

Or summoning another demon.

Still, she would give Enid a raise of her brow as the blonde would talk about her day. It wasn't judging - like normal people - and she'd felt safe. Real. That she didn't have to hide (well, entirely) to her roommate. And, she blushed as she twisted the knob, she could see a glimpse of her pretty eyes-

-which were staring right at her, a knife and a vial of blood in hand as the room was darkened with only candles as the source of light. So naturally, she sighed and,

"Wednesday, haven't we agreed not to kill me until the end of the semester?"

The black haired girl merely gave her a confused look and, "Pardon? I'm conjuring up a vengeful spirit to scare away your boyfriend."

What?!

"What?! Wednesday, I don't even have a boyfriend!"

Another confused look. Thing had popped up from a drawer and waved? Isn't that where Wednesday kept her knife collection -

"Oh, it seems like I made a wrong assumption. I should probably return the spirit that is terrorizing your non-boyfriend as we speak."

Dear God.
