Chapter Text

Laurel refused to stand by any further.

Years of planning, faking her own death, and manipulating the perfect monster, a Hyde, to do her bidding while she hid away as a normie teacher in Nevermore.

Resurrecting the Joseph Crackstone to carry out his vision of ridding the world of every single outcast to protect normies and take back the land that Nevermore stands on.

She was so close to the end.

Just a single step away.

But Wednesday Addams somehow cheated certain death and-

Ruined.

Everything.

She was grateful that she didn’t listen to Crackstone’s order to leave. It was now up to her to finish what he started centuries ago and what he oh so failed at once again.

She moved quickly, intending to kill Wednesday once and for all. As for Bianca Barclay, she was just a bonus body count once she finished off the Addams girl.

The sound of a clocked gun immediately grabbed the two student’s attention towards her. A terrible decision on her part since it would’ve been much easier to shoot the teen from behind, but that plan lack the fullest taste of sweet, sweet revenge.

“So you brought a gun to a sword fight.” Mumbled Wednesday in that aggravating monotone voice of hers.

Laurel fumed, “I might not get to kill every outcast, but at least I get to kill you, Wednesday.”

Then a bee landed on top of the barrel, confusing Laurel before the sounds of hundreds of bees soon swarmed the courtyard to unleash utter hell upon the teacher-turned-psycho.

“AHHHHH!” Agonized screams tore from her throat. The pain from the poisonous stings felt as though hundreds of red-hot knives stabbed every single part of her body. Shooting erratically was all that she could do in retaliation, but it was all in vain. Losing her vigor, both the murderer and the firearm fell onto the charred grass. Screams lowered to pathetic whimpers as she desperately tried to crawl away from a losing battle.

“Take that, bitch!” Of course, it was Eugene Otinger that swooped in to save his only friend.

The timid boy really pulled through in the end.

“Nice work, Eugene.” A smirk appeared on the stoic girl's face, an unusual sight of emotion that not many get to see. However, the occasion of taking down a homicidal manic such as Laurel Gates called for a slip in emotion.

Laurel Gates’s terror of Nevermore has finally come to an end.

But the Wednesday’s version of a satisfied tone of victory became the fuel needed to take the dimming sparks of anger lingering in Laurel’s chest and-

Transform it into a roaring inferno of uncontrolled rage.

A fire that ever-so gave her the strength needed to fulfill her desire to kill Goody’s descendant and avenge the pain of her family that the Addams have cursed upon them for generations.

Adrenaline pumped through her veins as Laurel shot her arms under her to pick herself back up.

But not before grabbing the gun that slipped away from her.

The action admittedly surprised Wednesday. It looks like the homicidal maniac had some fight left in her.

Laurel took aim at Wednesday, her figure was a sight to behold as her body was more bees than human. Their venomous stings were ignored in favor of ending the young Addams.

“JUST DIE ALREADY, ADDAMS!”

“WEDNESDAY-”

*BANG*

The single shot echoed across Nevermore.

Laurel Gates never got to witness the aftermath once the roaring fire inside of her was extinguished to mere ash. Instantly, she drop the firearm and fell back on the charred ground, no more fight left to give. The swarm took the opportunity to completely blanket her entire body and left no visible spot of skin left. Her senses were dulled next to nothing.

Screams of terror filled the courtyard.

The horrific sight of Wednesday’s hands pressed onto her abdomen, fingers that soon became dyed in red.

Oh how she crumbled like a house of cards, face covered in emotions that hadn’t plagued the stoic girl in nearly a decade.

Shock…

Pain…

Fear?

She would have loved it.

—-----

Enid was exhausted.

…Which was a poor way to describe the shitty situation.

Wolfing out for the first time was not for the faint of heart as dealing with the painful bone snapping and the rearrangement of your entire body would make any newbie werewolf dead tired.

But she couldn’t afford a break.

Not when Wednesday was in trouble.

Enid didn’t waste any time finding her roommate once she wolfed out. She quickly learned that it was a matter of life and death when it came to Wednesday. A fact that worried her even more by her roommate's dangerous investigations into the murders of Jericho. While the short girl took great pleasure in the notion of death, Enid couldn’t let her pass the thin line that stood between life and death.

She wouldn't spare a second thought to yank her roomie back to the living.

So when the newly transformed werewolf witnessed Tyler pinned Wednesday down with one hand pressed to her throat. The way his large claws loomed over the trapped girl, ready to slash and kill her Wed-roommate.

Enid didn’t think before she dashed across the forest to rip the hyde off of Wednesday. The two monsters became a mangled mess of claws and snarls until Enid managed to kick the hyde off into a tree. She growled in satisfaction at the sight and quickly turned her back from him.

Even in her rage-induced mind, the sight of Wednesday brought the werewolf equivalent of her smile.

Wednesday was fine.

“Enid?” Whispered Wednesday, disbelief clear in her voice.

Enid’s smile only grew at the sound of her voice.

However, the moment broke once Wednesday’s eyes became wide open.

“ENID!”

The werewolf snarled, sensing the imminent danger behind her. But before she could twist her body back, Tyler managed to swipe his oversized claws across her side and sent her flying. Enid managed to flip herself through the air and land perfectly on her paws to roar back at the hyde.

Adrenaline filled her ears, ignoring any outside interference other than the monster in front of her.

Expect the sound of Wednesday’s voice.

“I’m going back to Nevermore!”

That was the last she heard of Wednesday. Words that she held deep in her mind while never letting her guard down around the monster as she fought viciously until the end.

Enid took Tyler down like a bitch.

The werewolf made sure to repay him back in full by sending him flying through a stump once his back was turned, reverting him back to human. It filled her with a dash of excitement. She wolf out for the first time and took down a hyde on the same night.

That giddiness soon fled once her injuries caught up to Enid, her hold on her inner wolf finally broke, forcing her to shift back and experience what she could only describe as coming back from a trip to hell. However, a welcome gesture of hand-holding by Thing helped eased the pain a bit.

It didn’t take long before reality slap Enid in the face.

Wednesday could still be in trouble.

It was only right that she was worried about Wednesday’s well-being. Especially with how she didn't know jackshit about what was really happening except for the fact that she took down only one of the murderers.

So being left with the knowledge of Ms. Thornhill still being out there and Wednesday back at Nevermore, she was close to having a breakdown. But at the same time, it made her want to hold Wednesday in her arms and protect her from anything else that may harm her.

Wednesday would probably rather stab the werewolf with a silver knife than let her wrap her arms around her with the purpose of protecting her. Probably saying how an Addams doesn’t need any protection from a mutt.

…Who was she kidding? Like that would stop Enid from ripping apart any danger sent her way.

That left Enid to drag herself back to Nevermore at an admittedly slow and painful pace. If she could, she would’ve just wolf-out again and run like a maniac back to Nevermore. A thought that sadly couldn’t happen with the number of injuries she sustained from her fight as well as being her first wolf out secession.

Thankfully, Enid manages to find the gates of Nevermore in the distance before stopping.

The entire body of outcasts was crowding the gates and it didn’t take long before their attention landed on her. Yeah, she wasn't a pretty sight to look at with all the blood, muck, and whatever else made her look like a mess.

Ajax emerges from the crowd, a sight that should've made her cry, and run into his arms for comfort.

He was her boyfriend after all...

She never moves a single inch.

The gorgon made the choice to close the distance between them and wordlessly guide her back with the rest of the outcasts.

Enid took the time to scan the crowd for any sign of her twin-braided roomie. But she wasn’t anywhere in sight.

“Where’s Wednesday?”

No one said anything.

But she didn’t need a verbal answer as the look of despair, sadness, and hesitance on their faces told her everything.

It was a silver knife to her heart.

No…

No no noNONO NONONO

Her mind spiral to the worst-case scenario.

Until she saw a figure in the mist, just past the gates of Nevermore.

It was a small figure, one close in height to Wednesday.

It was a spark of hope.

Enid ran.

So did the figure in the distance.

The figure gave a muffle yell as they grew closer to the gates, their arms frantically waving at the crowd.

Something that Wednesday would never do.

Growing closer to the figure, it became clear who it really was.

Eugene Otinger.

Not Wednesday

The poor boy look like he was seconds away from passing out until Enid practically tackle him, knocking the wind out of his lungs, and forcing his attention towards the werewolf's immediate death grip on his shoulders.

“Where’s Wednesday, Eugene?!!?” Enid wail. Her claws quickly grew out of reflex, easily puncturing Eugene’s jacket.

Eugene hissed at the sharp stings, breaking through the werewolf’s cloud of hysteria to ease her grip.

She couldn’t help it.

Not when it wasn’t Wednesday safe in her arms.

It didn’t stop the flood of sadness crashing in her stomach at the sight of the boy freaking out in front of her. It only made things worse by strengthening the storm of emotions that she was mercilessly caught in.

A few moments passed between the two outcasts.

It felt like forever for Enid.

Eugene obviously had to get his head back to reality to relay the news of Wednesday’s whereabouts.

However, the quick thought of his only friend forces him to get his act together as tears drip down his cheeks, giving Enid only a second to prepare for the worst.

“She’s back in Nevermore, Thornhill shot her!”

Enid’s world shattered.
