Cookies and Cream

Summary:

Calli is an alpha who never really fit in with all of her highschool peers. After she fell in with the wrong crowd, she became something of a deliquent. Smoking, has a fake ID, works as a bartender at a club... But she still has a heart of gold - if anyone would give her a chance to show it.

Kiara, the girl everyone knows, is a popular omega cheerleader. She's loved by almost everyone and even works in her family's bakery, Princess Cakes, after school. Her father is known for chasing off potential love interests, her mother is kind to her friends, and in general she's a sweetheart.

When these two worlds collide, Calli finds herself fumbling over her words, stammering in an embarrassed mess, and facing new feelings she's never had before. Will she drop her bad habits to pursue the only omega that smells good to her? Can she stop skipping classes, getting into fights, and smoking, to even have a chance with the pretty omega?

Only time will tell.

Chapter Text

I always hated pep rallies. They had been the bane of my existence ever since I was little, mainly because my little sister played sports. She was always the best on the field, to boot. Team Captain, MVP, you name it, the title was hers. To top everything off, she was a beta. Why that mattered was that I was an alpha and I didn’t give a damn about sports. In fact, I was horrible at them. Everyone always told me that if I just applied myself or just tried harder , then I could be amazing because talent clearly ran in the family. If my beta sister could do it, then why couldn’t the alpha?

‘ Fuck them all, ’ Calli thought bitterly while lighting up a cigarette underneath the end of the soccer field’s bleachers. That area was generally free from other students and teachers, tended to sit so they were center field and able to get a good view of all the action. Their school was big enough to fit all the students with their families when it came to sports so she had enough space to not worry about being caught.

A long drag was taken and the nicotine instantly sent a smooth feeling of relaxation down her spine. The smoke was exhaled slowly and the stench of the omega cheerleaders was washed away from her senses. ‘ Such lovely scents ruined with all that chemical bullshit .’ One of her pet peeves was how the cheerleaders all wore such noticeable perfume. Almost all the omegas in both the senior and junior years were part of the squad, and it really played into how well the fans cheered for the teams as well.

Not that she cared about those things. Omegas were something she avoided at all costs. Whenever they weren’t marred with that stench of perfume, they made her a stupid mess of stuttering and stammering over her words. She had a reputation as something of a bad girl she had to uphold. Over the years she had become known for skipping classes, her singing, beating up other delinquents who picked on people, and generally being a bad bitch as they liked to call it.

Wearing what was considered male clothing didn’t help her reputation any. Girls crushed on her, guys wanted to bang her, and in general she was either looked at in disgust for bringing shame to the alpha title or was the topic of many rumors of both genders claiming to have put her into submission. It was funny, really. Despite having gone through many rut cycles in her life, and having a bad girl fanclub, one thing was painfully obvious to herself.

She was about to graduate high school and she was as much of a virgin as they came. The pinkette smoked and had a fake ID that got her not only alcohol but her part time job working a bar as well, yet she still didn’t even have the courage to look up porn on her smartphone. The thought made her sigh out softly, smoke easing through both her nose and mouth.

“You know,” a voice made Calli lift her head up and look over at the new person standing over her from her position sitting on the ground. “Smoking isn’t allowed at school.”

The pinkette looked at the one addressing her in shock. A ginger with freckles splattered all across her face and the most vivid purple eyes she had ever seen. She had to be an omega with that eye color, no beta would have those genes and no alpha would be on the cheerleading team. The girl was wearing the uniform, complete with pompoms in her hands, which were placed on her knees while bending ever so slightly.

“Uhhh...” It wasn’t the best way to start the conversation, she knew, but she had done much worse in the presence of an omega. “I... I mean... I don’t like... The smell of... the girls, cheerleaders, with perfume, so I...” Calli held up the still burning cigarette between her fingers. “Not that, you, I mean, you, you’re a cheerleader and... guh.” Her eyes averted and the smoking stick was thrown onto the dirt and snuffed out with her foot while standing. “S-sorry... sorry, I didn’t mean to imply...”

“You’re a peculiar one, aren’t you?” The cheerleader voiced her thoughts aloud while stepping a little closer. “I didn’t think I’d run into an alpha hiding away from everyone when I had to stay behind a bit before the rally.” Her hand fanned the air in front of herself and she immediately backpedaled the few paces she just took. “Blech! Oh, gross, you smell like an ashtray!” A rough cough was quickly directed into the crook of her arm, pom shaking from the sudden motion. “You say perfume smells bad, yet you do that to yourself?”

Calli licked her lips quickly to try and moisten them. “I just... do it so I don’t smell them all together like that... You know, just so...” Yet as she spoke, she began to realize that the girl’s scent was starting to waft her way now that the smoke was no longer impeding the air around her. She smelt like freshly baked cakes right from the oven. That moment when the door opened and you peeked in to see the desserts about to be pulled out and the heavenly, delicious scent hits your nose.

“...Mmmnhmmm?” The ginger cocked an eyebrow at her.

“Uhm! Sorry, you just smell different is all. I mean- not that I’m smelling you, it’s only that you don’t stink like them!” When the girl began to smile at her, Calli only talked faster. “I’m just trying to say you smell really nice! I like the way you- oh fuck, I’m digging my grave here...” Her body quickly went into self preservation mode and pulled the bill of her cap down a bit to hide her eyes, as if it would protect her from the embarrassment.

“You know,” those few steps were taken again and Kiara leaned over to look upwards and under that cap, “I thought you were trouble when I saw you, alpha.” Her figure dipped down to pick up the cigarette butt from the ground so she could hold it up to be looked at. “But I think you’re just a little misunderstood.” With that, she began to walk past. A little fling sent the trash into a bin right where the bleachers began and a smile was shot over her shoulder. “Don’t smoke, alpha, it ruins your scent.”

She wasn’t sure what made her do it, but Calli took a step forward and called over to the ginger before she was out of earshot. “Mori Calliope!” It earned her a look, to which she felt a wave of nervous nausea wash over her. “My- my name... Everyone calls me Calli.”

“Oh.” The girl’s mouth formed an O shape for a moment when that information was given to her. At first, Calli wasn’t sure if she would get a reply but soon enough that pretty grin came back and the redhead spoke again. “Kiara Takanashi, just Kiara is fine.”

“Kiara...” Calli nodded dumbly at her and was rewarded with a shake of a pom in her direction before the girl vanished from her sight. “...Kiara... huh?” A small smile tugged at the corner of her lips. Maybe she would watch that pep rally after all. From the corner, away from everyone else, that is.

~**~

“An omega?” Gura’s voice came through Calli’s earpiece as she walked downtown. It was late that night, a few days after the game that she ended up attending just to see what it was all about. She ended up leaving halfway through but at least caught the redhead’s eye while leaning against the fence. It wasn’t much, but she still cringed when she remembered standing up straight all at once and giving the most awkward little wave. She could swear the girl’s eyes were laughing at her after that so she had turned tail and fled to the back of the bleachers for a smoke.

“Yeah, her name is Kiara.” A cold rush of air made Calli zip her jacket up a bit more. “I met her at the pep rally a few days ago.”

“The cheerleader?” Gura sounded a little confused at that. “Redhead, right? Nice ass, big tits?” Calli coughed at that, which her friend took as a confirmation. “Why you gotta pick the popular ones? She’s like... the girl that every girl knows, you know?”

“No, I don’t know.” Red eyes glanced down as her phone was fished from her jacket pocket to check her directions. “I don’t keep up with that shit, you know that. Anyway, I need to cut here for a bit, Goob. I’m at the store Mama sent me to.”

“Okay, see you later dude.”

“Ya, bye-bye.” A finger moved to tap the bud in her ear and the call was quickly replaced by quiet music. ‘ Okayyy, cake time. ’ Her sister had once again done some amazing things and was being rewarded for it. She didn’t mind as much, as she got to enjoy a treat as well, but her aunts would be there tonight as well. That meant she would be questioned on what she was doing with her life and why she wasn’t being celebrated like her beta sister. Not a fun time in her opinion.

“Welcome!” A friendly voice came over the music in her ears when she walked into the little homestyle cake store. “Can I help you find anything?”

“Yeah, I’m actually here to... pick... up...” Calli’s words began to fall off when she saw that ginger haired omega smiling at her from behind the counter. Her hair was let down now instead of being up in that cheerleader styled ponytail. She could see a light tint of mint green on the underlying layer of hair now. It matched so well with that adorable uniform she wore, complete with the cutest, fluffiest white apron on her front.

“We have a couple of orders for pick up tonight, Calli,” Kiara teased her playfully. She was standing behind a clear display case of all different kinds of cupcakes, cookies, muffins, and boxed cakes with receipts taped to them. “Could you be a liiiiitle bit more specific?”

“Uhm...” She was unsure where the omega’s scent ended and where the overwhelming smell of baked goods began. It was doing all kinds of things to her brain, and none of them were helping her in the speech category. “Cake... for my sister, it’s... uhm, under the name Mori, probably my mom, Andora.”

“Andooooooora...” Kiara pretended to think of the name while playfully tapping a finger to her chin. “I’m not sure I remember seeing that on our list of take outs tonight.”

The words made Calli’s jaw slacken a little. “Are you sure?” Her feet led her over to the counter so she could speak with Kiara a little more directly. “I’m positive it was this bakery, she sent me the geotag with the name and everything. Princess Cakes.”

“That’s us,” she assured while leaning forward.

“Uhm...?” Calli froze a moment when she realized that the girl was taking a little sniff of her. “What are you doing?”

“I was going to make a joke about knowing which cake was yours by saying I recognized the scent of an ashtray,” Kiara revealed with a little bit of amusement in her voice. “But I don’t smell any smoke on you.”

“I quit.” Upon saying the words, she quickly began to try and backpedal on what she just said. “I mean, I didn’t... didn’t quit, I just haven’t... smoked any since that day is all...” Her eyes glanced up and away, fingers starting to drum on the counter before her. “Just coincidence it was the day we talked, is all...”

“Almost three days now?” Kiara hummed while moving directly to a cake box to pick up.

Calli leaned her whole body over the counter to look. “You knew where it was this whole time!?”

Those pretty violet eyes turned to her once again. “It was under your name, of course I knew which one it was. I made it, after all.” As she walked back, a finger poked the tip of Calli’s nose to gently push her back over the counter. “Employees only back here.”

“Spoilsport...” A pout was given but a smile was returned. “Why are you smiling so much?”

“Because we have been talking for almost a full minute and you haven’t shied away from me.”

“Huh!?” Calli took a step back in shock. “I don’t- I mean, I don’t shy away! I’m an alpha, I wouldn’t... guh!” The cap was reached for, only to get interupted by Kiara’s voice.

“Aaand there she goes.” Kiara tapped onto her register. “Thirty-five dollars please.”

The alpha sighed and reluctantly reached into her pocket to retrieve her phone so she could scan it over the small display with the credit card reader. Her mother had given her cash beforehand for it, so when the optional tip amount came up she felt herself hesitate. ‘ Would this be too much? ’ Her lips were licked again, something she was realizing was turning into quite the habit. ‘ Screw it, ’ her mind overpowered her shyness and she tapped out a tip amount. Almost half as much as the cake but... who cared?

“Thanks,” Calli reached for the offered box only to hesitate when she saw a cookie wrapped in a clear baggy on top of it. “Uhm, we only got a cake, I think?”

“I know,” the omega pushed the box forward so it would be taken. “They say when you quit smoking that your taste buds recover after two or three days so I thought you should test that theory.”

“...Did you make it?”

Kiara made an amused sound at the question, something that Calli didn’t miss in the slightest. “What if I did?”

Calli shifted the box to one hand so she could pocket the cookie and finish pulling down the bill of her cap to try and hide her blush a little. “I’ll... I’ll try it. The cookie. I mean, the cake too, but especially the cookie if...” Kiara was only smiling wider and wider at the words so Calli began to retreat. “Thank you, Kiara, uhm... See you Monday.” She gave a quick wave and turned on the spot. “Man, I’m so lame!” She heard the stifling of a giggle behind herself and ran from the store as quickly as she could.

~**~

“Calliiiii!” The call across the house made the pinkette sigh softly the moment the door opened.

“It’s me, sis!” A small chorus of cheers answered her and soon she was taking off her shoes and sliding her feet into slippers so she could walk across the carpeted floor and into the living room where everyone was gathered. “Hey everyone, sorry I’m a bit late.”

“Out with a guy?” Calli’s aunt looked at her curiously.

“No,” the alpha resisted the urge to roll her eyes.

Her other aunt leaned over the table as well, quickly taking the opportunity to join in on gossiping about their family’s love life. “Dressing like that, no wonder! Why don’t you ever wear skirts, Calli dear?”

“Don’t like skirts,” the answer was simple and to the point. “I’d rather wear jeans.”

“Why not skinny jeans like your sister? Show off a bit, flaunt that little alpha pride of yours.”

Calli placed the box of cake onto the table and tried her best to smile. “I’m not after someone who is only interested in my butt, thank you very much. Besides, if I did that, sis here would steal them away the moment they came over to visit.” A small pop on her sister’s rear end made her sit back into her seat correctly. “Anyway, I gotta get some homework done.”

“Awww,” Calli’s sister pouted but gave an understanding nod. “Get a slice of cake before you go at least?”

“It’s okay, I’ll grab one later. I have a cookie.” Despite her words, the cake box was reached for and the receipt was pulled from the top to be discarded. Yet as the younger sibling did so, she stopped dead in her tracks when looking at the small slip of paper.

“Uhm... Calli?”

“Look, she’s a friend, so I tipped her well,” her instant defense was only grinned at. “...What is it?” Slowly she watched the paper be turned over to reveal red ink on the back.

Calli,

    Enjoy your cookie!

        x-xxx-xxx-xxxx

            ~Kiara

“Your friend gave you her phone number.”

“Give me that!” Calli lunged for the paper but it was pulled back and away from her. “Sis, I’m serious!”

“Who’s Kiara!?” Interest came from their mother at once but one of their aunts spoke before Calli could reply.

“A girl? Come now, Calli, focus on getting yourself a man!”

Snorting, Calli finally managed to get the paper she was after and crammed it into her pocket. “I’m an alpha , I’ll take either sex I want. Besides, she’s an omega.” She meant the title to be dismissive, as she knew her family was aware of her aversion to the secondary sex, but instead she was only met with interested looks. “Listen! I didn’t mean-”

“An omega gave you her number!?”

“Sis, way to go!”

“Gah!” Arms up, Calli moved over to the hallway nearby so she could retreat to her room. “Goodnight everyone!” Her call was mostly ignored but she still managed to close herself into her bedroom without answering any more questions. Her jacket was shrugged off and the baked good pulled from the pocket. Luckily it had survived her antics in one piece.

Calli hopped onto her bed and held the wrapped package up at arm’s length for several moments to inspect it. It looked like a simple sugar cookie, only without the colorful sprinkles on the outside. The last time she ate sweets was way too long ago to identify it correctly ‘ Well, this is the longest I’ve gone without smoking in years so... ’ Red and black painted nails worked the small folded seal on the package and easily opened the baggy so she could retrieve her treat.

Her first bite was large, deciding to just go for it and see if what Kiara said was true or not. The moment she bit into her treat, it crumbled against her teeth and the taste of sweetened butter spread across her tongue. It was a shortbread cookie, and the taste alone made the teen lean forward to both catch the crumbs with her free hand as well as give an unintentional moan of approval.

‘ It’s not hard like I remember with these cookies, and it’s so fucking good! ’ Before she even realized what was happening she had already turned her head back to pop the crumbles into her mouth. ‘ Damn, this is delicious... ’ The snack was sat onto the clear bag on her bed and she scooted back to observe it while licking her fingers. It was only a single bite, yet it brought back memories of how much she used to love sweets back in junior high, before the senses of being an alpha became too much for her and she fell in with the wrong crowd.

She should thank the cheerleader for that day. ‘ She gave me her number so it should be okay to text her, right? ’ Calli reached into her large pockets to fish out her cell and tapped it on. She never kept a password on it, as there was nothing to hide on the device. She really didn’t have any friends so the only people she contacted was her family.

Yet now, as she tapped on it, she saw a profile picture automatically load in for the number entered. It was a close up of the omega in her cheerleader outfit. Her hair was up in a ponytail and this time Calli noticed the green tints in the hair. Those eyes were sparkling brightly, mouth open wide in a cheerful yell. One more tap enlarged the image and she saw the full thing. That pleated skirt, top that showed her stomach, knee high floppy socks...

Lips were licked yet again as she took in the image. The girl was beautiful, smelt really good, and was friendly. Something about it made a tiny voice in the back of her mind purr something deep into her subconsciousness. ‘ She would be an amazing mate ...’ Her body was leaning back onto her pillows without even realizing it, her free hand pulling the baggy shirt she wore up to her belly button. ‘ She seems like she would be a great mother... ’

Fingers dipped under loose fitting jeans and into simple cotton boyshorts. Her dick was slowly growing down beside her leg and pulsed with interest when her hand slid over it. Already a shaking breath was being let out, the sensitivity of it still being so new to her. The alpha could count on one hand how many times she had masturbated in her life, and half of them were with her female parts.

But as a knock came on her door, her hand ripped back up and her mind cleared from the alpha induced haze of lust that came with teenage hormones. “C-come in?”

Her mother poked her head into the room. “Hey, would you like some cake and some milk?”

“Uhm... Actually, yes please.” Calli sat back up onto her bed. “The cookie she gave me would go good with milk too.”

“Oooh, she gave you a cookie?” The question was open-ended enough to get a groan and she left the room once more with a small click of the door.

Calli stared down at the single bite she had taken and then felt the intense heat coming to her cheeks when she realized exactly what she had almost just done. ‘ What the fuck is wrong with me!? ’

~**~

Kiara paused in her path to her closet when she saw a flashing light on the phone laying on her bed. The girl curiously tapped her device and swiped her screen lock code before pulling down an unknown number text with an attached image. ‘ I swear, if this is another dick pic... ’ Yet when she touched it, a smile came to her face.

Calli was sitting somewhere, probably her bedroom, and was taking a selfie with her cookie held up by her face. It was half gone and the alpha had crumbs around her lips. A small caption on the bottom of the image read Thank you, it’s delicious in a simple font with no emojis or elaboration. It was so different from all of her other friends or people who tried to hit on her. The alpha was so... open and honest with everything. The cookie tasted good to her, so she said it... nothing else was needed.

The redhead felt her smile growing and she put off changing from her bathrobe into her pajamas in favor of sitting on her bed and typing a small reply.

Kiara: There is plenty more where that came from. Stop by again sometime?
