Hyunjin hates his hiatus. He doesn't know how long it'll last and he's being forced to go no contact and without seeing his boyfriends for the entire thing
He hates it even more when he wakes up two months in yearning for the oldest group member, the alpha of the pack he wasn't bonded to yet, feeling like he's on fire
Hyunjin hadn't presented yet, never thought that he would. Everyone else in the group were presented, even the youngest two members, but each year went by without his subgender being known
Something had to be wrong with him, even if the others said there wasn't. They tried to reassure him that some people's wolves needed more time to show but every year that passed made him disbelieve that statement more and more
He felt miserable and he couldn't even get the type of comfort he craved because he wasn't presented
Presenting was described as your wolf finally waking from a long slumber. You can present as one of three subgenders; alpha, beta, or omega
Your wolf has to be awake, you have to be presented, to be able to join a pack. Your wolf needs to be able to bond with the wolf, or wolves, of other pack members and they can't do that if they're still asleep
Most people present by their seventeen or eighteenth birthdays. Not Hyunjin. Years had passed since then and he didn't know his subgender
The others were optimistic that he would present eventually and one late night Chan had promised to be there for him when he did and to officially bond him into their pack
Of course they considered him part of the pack already and treated him as such but it was different than if he was presented and bonded with them officially
So waking up yearning for the pack alpha when he couldn't have him- couldn't have any of them- there with him upset him
It took him a while to realize what was going on, his brain feeling like it was full of fog
He was presenting, alone, and he couldn't contact the others at all to tell them. He couldn't have them be there with him, he couldn't have them comfort him or have Chan bond him
Hyunjin lets out a whine as pain rips through his stomach and his thoughts get more panicked. He was craving the other members being near him, he needed them. He couldn't even nest because he had nothing that smelled of any of them
He takes note of what was happening with his body. His mind was foggy, he felt disoriented, he was feverish, there was an ache in his stomach that spread down his entire lower body, and he could feel something wet spreading over his thighs
He was presenting as an omega, he was in heat, and he was alone
He remembers all of Jisung and Felix's heats. He remembers how much they begged for their alphas, how much they needed them. He remembers the betas helping them settle down before the alphas got there and he remembers that once the alphas were there and the omegas could smell them they had relaxed instantly, melting into the bed
He never spent heats with them. He felt like it was too weird to have an unpresented wolf they couldn't feel or smell there. They always reassured him that he was welcome to spend heats with them but he just couldn't. He remembers them though
He knows that omegas need their mates with them- or at least an alpha- for heats or they're extremely painful and he remembers hearing about an omega needing their mate with them after as well
He was going to have to go through this alone
He knew he wouldn't be able to convince the managers to let him be with his pack right now, in heat- presenting- or not
He cries as the pain, the want, the need consumes him while he's powerless to stop it
He's alone and he doesn't have anything that smells like his mates to calm him down
He doesn't even know what they smell like, hasn't been able to smell their wolves' scents since his had been asleep until now
He cries as he curls his arms around his body tightly, desperately trying and failing to quench his pain, his instincts calling out desperately for the others only to be responded to with cold and dead silence
His hiatus lasts two more months after his presentation
He hadn't been able to reach out to the others at all and his heat had lasted for two weeks- two long weeks of pain and desperation that he couldn't get rid of, that felt like it would kill him, leaving him numb and cold afterwards, leaving him empty, hollow
He was touch starved, so severely touch starved, and he had developed 'attention sickness' from not being around anyone- not being around his mates- for so long. His wolf was crying inside of him, yearning for the alphas, betas, and omegas that were so far away
He was yearning for touch, for anything, and he couldn't get it. He felt so cold and empty inside, like a massive part of him was missing and he didn't know how to get it back, like he had been stuck inside of a freezer and left there for dead
There was a constant buzzing under his skin and a pain in his stomach that hadn't gone away since his heat started and only got worse afterwards
He knew that being alone for heats- especially first heats- could cause damage to omegas and that presenting late and doing it alone would also cause issues
When he's told that he can return to the dorm he's more than ready, desperately needs it, and he leaves quickly for his destination
The others were clearly not told he was off his hiatus because the dorm is silent as he reaches the door. It's never silent unless no one is home or those who are home are sleeping- and at two in the afternoon he doubts that's the case. He then realizes that the managers had sent him home while the others were busy with schedules that would probably last all-day
Hyunjin holds back a whine at this, taking out his keys and quickly opening the front door. He doesn't expect what happens next
As soon as he opens the door and steps inside an array of scents hit him and he's falling to his knees in the doorway because they completely give out on him. His mind gets foggy again as the scents invade his senses
Campfires, coffee, forests, apples, brownies, mints, freshly baked bread. They all mix together so perfectly and they make his want- his need- for the owners of them grow more, consuming him and eating him alive
He has to physically shake his head to will away the fog inside enough that he can close and lock the door behind him. He follows the scents to where they're strongest, ending up outside of the pack's nest room
He only hesitates for a few seconds before entering, immediately feeling the fog get thicker in his mind as the scents hit him stronger
An open campfire, coffee roasting on top of it, and the smell of the forest surrounding it, hiding it away beneath its leaves and branches. Sweet apples growing from the trees and brownies with mint interlacing the chocolate, freshly baked bread above the flames
He immediately moves to the nest and climbs in, burying his face in the closest hoodie that he can, inhaling the scent of smoke and charred wood happily- inhaling the scent of alpha happily
His wolf purrs inside of him slightly at the mixture of scents but the longing for their owners gets stronger as well- the longing to smell the scents on the people that owned them, to feel those people beside him, around him
Jisung walks with Felix, talking happily as the group approaches their dorm
The two omegas are in the front, the betas behind them, and the alphas at the back to keep them safe
Jisung and Felix are walking quite a bit in front of them- a reasonable enough distance for their mates to feel safe and keep them close but for the two omegas to not feel smothered- so they all notice the way that Jisung suddenly freezes before Felix gives him a questioning look only to do the same
"Guys, what's wrong?" Chan asks immediately, his worry building as he starts to walk closer to the two
"Caramel" Jisung mumbles softly, looking over to Felix who only nods in response
"What do you mean?" Seungmin asks from behind them, tilting his head a bit
"I can smell caramel, in the dorm," Jisung says quickly, looking over to Chan as he gets beside him before smelling the air
His brows furrow as the scent hits him as well. "Stay here with Minho and Binnie," He says sternly before unlocking the door and going inside. When the door opens Felix and Jisung can catch another scent as well, the scent of distress burning their noses and making them step back a bit
Chan walks into the dorm carefully, following the caramel scent to the nest room. His brows furrow more as he slowly pushes open the door and steps inside
His heart almost stops at what he sees
The person lying in the middle of the nest has their back turned to him but he immediately can tell that it's-
"Hyunjin?" He asks gently
The younger male stirs for a few seconds before his eyes open, icy blue gazing back at Chan and compelling him forwards quickly
He lands beside the other male, gently cupping his cheek and feeling his heart break at the whine of content that leaves the omega
Omega. Hyunjin had presented, he was an omega, and they weren't there for it. He quickly sends a text to the others, telling them to get to the nest room before putting his phone down and focusing back on Hyunjin
"Hi baby" He whispers softly, smiling when Hyunjin opens his eyes again to look up at him
"Alpha" The younger male whines out. His gaze is unfocused as he looks up at the older male, clearly scent-drunk and touch starved
"Hi, my pretty omega. When did you get home?" Chan asks gently, pulling the younger male closer to him
Hyunjin relaxes at the contact with the older male, the fog in his head clearing enough for him to reply. "Two" he whispers softly
Chan hums softly as he runs a hand through Hyunjin's hair, the omega leaning into the touch happily. "When did you present baby?" He asks
Hyunjin lets out a whine at the reminder of his presentation, closing his eyes again. "Two months ago" he mumbles softly
Chan's arms wrap around him tighter at this and he relaxes more, the touch-starved feeling starting to fade. It would be a lot better if he had-
A body suddenly presses close to him, the scent of fresh apples filling his nose. He opens his eyes to see Jisung looking at him, an undecipherable look in his eyes
He quickly wraps his arms around the younger omega, hugging him close and pulling Felix in as well when he walks over, taking in the younger male's scent of fresh brownies
It doesn't take much longer for the others to filter into the nest
Changbin- the owner of the forest scent- sits behind him, letting Hyunjin lay his head in his lap. Minho- coffee- sits next to him, gently playing with Hyunjin's hair. Seungmin- mints- sits on Changbin's other side and Jeongin- fresh bread- sits in front of him
Hyunjin relaxes even more as they all find some form of contact with him, their scents mixing deliciously and getting him drunk again. That touch-starved feeling is gone now and he's content to stay here with his mates
The scent in the room shifts and they all feel content at the change, like the final piece of a puzzle was slotted in finally

Sweet apples growing from the trees and brownies with mint interlacing the chocolate, freshly baked bread above the flames, and sweet caramel mixing with the velvety chocolate of Felix's brownie scent, mixing sweetly with the underbite of Seungmin's minty scent
It isn't until late the next day that Hyunjin comes down from being scent drunk and they talk about what happened
He talks them through his presentation and heat, telling them what he felt during and after it. They're all less than happy with their company right now but the alphas are even more pissed off
They missed their omegas presentation, his first heat, because of a stupid hiatus. They were supposed to be there for him when he finally presented, when his wolf finally woke up. They were supposed to take care of him and make him feel extra special, no matter what subgender he was
They were supposed to be there for his heat. They were supposed to help him manage his pain and they were supposed to be there to bond with his wolf, to mate with him and finally tie him into their pack properly, to finally glue down their missing puzzle piece and never let it fall out again
This had gone completely wrong and it was going to have lasting effects on the eldest omega- a title that Jisung happily hands over to him that night, receiving giggles from the older male
Those effects make themselves well known the more time they spend around Hyunjin once he is officially taken off hiatus completely and allowed to return to work with them
He's a lot clingier than he used to be because of how badly touch-starved and attention sick he was. He seeks them out for hugs and cuddles a lot more than he used to and he scents them a ton now that he can
He's also more protective of the other two omegas and their betas. His instincts are screaming at him constantly to keep them at arm's length and keep them safe and Chan has had to stop too many fights that risk breaking out early by growling until Hyunjin finally submits and lets himself be scented until he's calm again. Most of the fights start because someone who isn't part of their pack gets too close to one or more of the Maknaes when Hyunjin isn't close enough to them to feel safe or comfortable with it
They haven't bonded him into the pack yet either. He told them he wanted to wait until his next heat so he can experience a proper first heat- those words had broke Chan's heart when he heard them
Because he had presented late and such a short time ago it's hard to track when his heats should be. After a certain number of heats spent with Jisung and Felix they should sync up, so it will be easier to keep track of, but that is awhile away
His second heat comes two months after he returns home, four months after his first one
He wakes up at two am in a sweat, his body aching and feeling feverish. His mind immediately starts to panic when memories of his first heat pop into his head
What if he had to go through this one alone too? It had hurt so bad last time, he doesn't think that he can-
He quickly gets out of bed, shivering at the sudden rush of cold air hitting his body that makes him all too aware of the slick running down his thighs
He stumbles a bit on his feet before rushing to the nest room, immediately fixing the bundled-up clothes, sheets, and blankets until they're to his liking before he climbs in
Something is missing
Hyunjin whines when he realizes what it is. Mates, he needs his mates. He whines again, the sound loud and needy, desperate
Footsteps come to the door seconds later before the smell of apples fills his nose. Jisung. One of his pups are there, one of his mates
Jisung peeks into the room, his eyes widening a bit when he sees Hyunjin. "Hyung?" He asks gently, staying behind the doorway just in case
Some omegas didn't want people entering their nest or their nest room without permission, even if they were their mates, and Jisung didn't know if Hyunjin was like that. He didn't want to take any chances
Hyunjin whines again as he looks at Jisung through bleary eyes- icy blue in the loveliest way Jisung thinks to himself- reaching out a hand for the younger male, wanting him close
Jisung takes it as the permission he needs to enter the room, walking over to stand at the outside of the nest before grabbing Hyunjin's hand, gasping in surprise when he's pulled into the nest quickly
He lands beside the older omega, letting him tangle their limbs together and start scenting him almost aggressively. It isn't extremely easy- though it isn't hard either according to their alphas- to get Jisung scent drunk but Hyunjin is well on his way to making it happen
Jisung carefully moves enough to take out his phone, texting the other three Maknaes quickly

I need you in the nest room, now

Are you ok Hyung??

Hyunjin Hyung is in heat again. I need you guys in here to help until it's time to wake up the alphas. Also, Jinnie is really aggressively scenting me and I'm getting scent drunk
Puppymin
I'll wake Innie up and meet you and Felix Hyung in there. Do you need anything from the kitchen?
Quokkie
Water bottles and snacks, please. Get him some muscle relaxers too
No one replies in the chat after that but he can hear movement in the dorm
He listens as footsteps come up to the door before there's a soft knock and then the sweet smell of brownies filling the air
Hyunjin looks up quickly when the scent hits him, letting out a whine when he sees Felix just standing at the doorway. Felix moves into the room slowly before approaching the nest when Hyunjin doesn't show any aggression toward him. He slowly slips into the nest beside the older male, hugging him from behind and quickly getting to work on scenting him
Jisung can hear their betas talking from the kitchen, their voices getting closer as they make their way to the nest room. They wait for permission- Hyunjin whining at them- before entering, setting the items in their arms down on the bedside table before climbing into the nest
Hyunjin relaxes more with all of his younger mates around him, his eyes slipping shut as Felix continues to scent him. Seungmin carefully moves and grabs out some of the muscle relaxers before grabbing a water bottle, gently coaxing Hyunjin into taking the meds
"It'll help with the stomach cramps, make them more bearable" Jisung whispers softly. Hyunjin looks over at him, nodding as he decides to trust the younger omega. He had been having heats for longer so he trusted him to know the best ways to help
He carefully takes some of the meds given to him, ending up downing half of the bottle of water in one go. He didn't realize how thirsty he was until the liquid hit his tongue and Seungmin has to carefully move the bottle away so he doesn't choke or make himself sick
Jeongin is sitting slightly behind Felix, a hand reaching out to play with Hyunjin's hair, the older male leaning into the touch happily
When the meds finally kick in Hyunjin relaxes enough to sleep only to be woken up by his cramps three hours later
Jisung is still awake beside him, playing on his phone, and he looks over when he hears Hyunjin whine. "Hyung?" He asks gently. "What's wrong?"
"Hurts" Hyunjin whines out, arms coming to wrap around his stomach. "Meds?" He asks a few seconds later, looking over at Jisung
"Not for a few more hours" Jisung whispers softly, shifting closer to the other male and resting a hand on his stomach, rubbing it gently. Hyunjin relaxes into the touch, eyes slipping closed as he sleeps for a few more hours
The next time he wakes up is to the feeling of his body burning, as if someone had set him on fire. He whines loudly, shifting around in discomfort before a hand rests on his stomach again and someone is scenting him
Jisung is rubbing his stomach he realizes after a few minutes and Felix is the one scenting him. Jeongin and Seungmin let out comforting scents as well, Jeongin playing with Hyunjin's hair while Seungmin held onto his hand
"Think it's time now?" Seungmin asks Jisung. The omega hums softly as he takes a minute to think before nodding
"Yeah. It's starting to hit him fully now. Me and Lix will get him into it the rest of the way, go wake up the alphas" He whispers
Seungmin nods before starting to leave the nest, stopping when Hyunjin whines in distress and grips onto his hand. "It's ok baby, he's going to get the alphas. Want the alphas to come be in the nest with you, make you feel better?" Jisung asks gently, applying a bit more pressure as he rubs Hyunjin's stomach still. The older male nods a bit because really he did want the alphas there, wanted his entire pack to be with him. Jisung smiles softly at this. "Ok, you need to let Minnie go so he can go get them. He'll be right back don't worry"
Hyunjin hesitates before letting go of Seungmin's hand, watching as he leaves the room quickly, wanting to hurry to get back with the alphas
Jisung and Felix make quick work of distracting Hyunjin, Felix scenting him heavily now as Jisung moves his hand down to rest on the male's slight bulge, pressing down gently and watching as Hyunjin relaxes and closes his eyes, his head leaning back
"There you go, good omega" Jisung whispers softly, keeping his touches gentle as he slowly starts to move his hand
Hyunjin recognizes when his heat fully hits except this time it felt completely different. There wasn't as much pain as last time and the ache all over his body, the urge to be touched, was satiated by the other two omegas
His mind goes fuzzy but there isn't the panic that followed during his first heat
He lets out a whine when the need for one of the alphas develops, growing stronger with each second
"Shh, relax. Focus on us baby, alphas will be here soon" Felix whispers from behind him, his hand rubbing Hyunjin's stomach before slipping under his shirt and drifting to his chest
Lips are on his neck and his mind goes fuzzy again as he relaxes, his own lips parted and releasing soft moans
It feels like forever- though he is later told it was only about ten minutes- before Seungmin returns with their alphas, leading them to the nest. He climbs back in beside Hyunjin, gently grabbing his hand
Hyunjin quickly opens his eyes, looking up at the alphas and whining softly. Changbin and Minho climb into the nest behind his head, letting him rest his head on their legs, and Chan carefully climbs in front of him, gently cupping his cheek
"Hi baby. Did the pups take care of you?" The older male whispers gently, watching fondly as Hyunjin leans into his palm before nodding a bit
"He's such a good omega for us alpha, listens perfectly," Jisung says, smiling softly when Hyunjin whines softly at the words
"Yeah? Our good omega, so pretty" Chan whispers softly, leaning in to place kisses all over Hyunjin's face before finally kissing his lips when he whines again
The next few hours blur together, Hyunjin getting lost in the pleasurable touches his mates provide him. They're so soft with him and it makes him feel warm and fuzzy inside
It's while they're all taking a break to calm down, rest, and get nutrition that Hyunjin asks the question they were all waiting for
It's getting close to another wave of his heat making him disoriented and he wants to ask before he can't. "Alpha?" He whispers gently, looking at Chan. The older male looks down at him with a soft hum, a hand carding through his hair. "Can you mate me during the next wave of my heat, please?" Hyunjin asks hesitantly, his voice anxious
Chan smiles fondly at him, gently pulling him into a kiss that has him absolutely melting. The older male pulls away and waits until Hyunjin is looking at him again to speak. "I would love to mate you, baby, we all would" he whispers
When the next wave hits Chan takes his time to scent Hyunjin until he is almost drunk off of it before sucking on the skin around his scent gland gently. After a few seconds of this he finally bites down and Hyunjin goes weightless against the bed, his mind going blank. It felt so incredibly right, being claimed into the pack officially, and he can feel his wolf keen in joy as it already starts bonding with Chan's
The others all take turns leaving their own mating bites before letting Hyunjin make his. Once everyone is sporting their bites they take care of the wave of heat that hit him, Hyunjin feeling even more pleasure now as his wolf bonds with the others, keening happily once more
When his heat finally settles for a few hours that night and the others fall asleep he lets himself drift away in thoughts that make him warm, happy, content
He might have had to present alone but now he was never going to be alone again
