A Hero Will Rise: The After Year

Summary:

Both Adora and Catra looked up from their food and both of them could not help but turn as red as raspberries.

Now, everyone was staring at them, (Well, everyone except Perfuma who was still covering Frosta's ears) "We weren't doing anything, we were just cuddling on the grass!" Adora testified.

Laughter erupted from everyone and Adora rolled her eyes. She looked at Catra who was still blushing, "Hey, Princess," she said in a (very) seductive tone and Adora immediately looked away as she was getting more red.

Chapter 1: Tales Of The Heart

Chapter Text

Who would have guessed that the Princess of Power and the former Force Captain of the Horde would make such a great pair? Catra and Adora were already cuddling each other on a picnic mat out in the open field just a few hours after the war had ended.

"Hey, Catra?" Adora called out to her... friend? girlfriend? lover? "It's time to go have dinner with the Rebellion." She spoke softly, not wanting to irritate Catra's sensitive ears. You'd be surprised at how well a Magicat's hearing is.

"Let them wait for a while. I want to stay here with you." Catra stated as she hugged Adora closer to her body.

Adora's gaze softened as she melted against Catra's touch. "Alright. I'll stay," she responded after a few seconds of silence. She hugged Catra back in a protective but gentle manner, a way that showed that Catra and Adora belong together and forever will.

_______

"UUUGH, where are they?" Glimmer jumped up from her seat, grumbling. The Rebellion, including Hordak who had shown up after Entrapta brought him with her without telling anybody, was having dinner together in Bright Moon's dining hall in celebration of Horde Prime's defeat.

"Calm down, Glimmer. Let them have some time together." Bow placed a hand on Glimmer's shoulder as he continued to aver that it had been three years since they last got to snuggle up with each other without Etheria being set on fire by an alien creep.

The door to the dining room creaked open as Catra and Adora walked in, hand-in-hand. "Finally!" Glimmer exclaimed, throwing her hands up in the air. "Sorry, we're late, Glimmer!" Adora apologised before she sat down beside the brunette, acting all lovey-dovey with each other.

Glimmer sighed before she sat down, "I was so right to let you guys share a room together."

After everyone had settled down, the first course was served. "Ooh, you even have tiny dumplings!" Entrapta squealed and Catra swears she sees Hordak blush.

"Guys! Let's play a game of truth or dare!" Frosta suggested as she slammed her hands down onto the table with great energy.

"Hm, okay." Netossa was eyeing everybody, trying to choose a victim.

"Glimmer." Netossa picked as her victim

"Dare." Glimmer said. Netossa was not the type to go easy on people during game time, this was bound to get juicy.

"I dare you to point to the person who was most likely to have had sex before coming here."

Perfuma immediately ran to cover Frosta's ears upon hearing Netossa's words, "Hey, I'm 14! I know what- " Frosta began before she got cut off.

"Please try and keep this family-friendly!" Perfuma pleaded.

Glimmer was looking at Catra and Adora with a shit-eating grin. "Both of them," Glimmer pointed.

_______

After many rounds of playing truth or dare, they were finally having their last course, mango pudding for dessert!

"Thanks for the dinner, Glimmer." Adora thanked her with an appreciative smile before leaving the dining hall with Catra.

Catra and Adora were holding hands while walking in the hallway, "Ready to see our new room?" Adora asked.

"Definitely," Catra replied.

Adora slowly opened the door and Catra almost gasped when she looked inside. Glimmer had given them a different room considering that they would be sharing it and it was even more spectacular than Adora's previous room in the castle.

The luxurious bedroom featured a pink king-sized bed in the middle with a waterfall on the right, as well as a walk-in wardrobe connected to a bathroom. There was also a vanity, a couch, a desk, crystals, a tea nook and to top it all off, they had a balcony all for themselves.

"Woah," Catra mouthed in awe, "how are you not amazed by all this?" she laughed. She immediately went to try out the bed.

"Well, it's pretty much the same in every room." Adora's heart melted when she saw Catra's laugh. "Hopefully, I'll be able to keep that smile on her face. She deserves to be happy and loved." Adora thought.

_______

After both of them changed into their sleeping attire, they lay down on the bed together, legs intertwining. Catra tucked her head under Adora's chin. They were both wide awake as Adora ran her fingers through Catra's hair as her hands were placed around Adora's waist.

As time went by, both of them felt their eyelids getting heavy. Adora eventually stopped stroking Catra's hair and placed her hand on her head.

The Moon grew brighter and Catra was the first one to fall asleep. "She's so cute when she's sleeping." Adora thought to herself. She kissed Catra's forehead before she finally closed her eyes and dozed off.

Their story together was only beginning, their future was yet to come.

In Love

You've not yet had your heart in halves,

so little do you know of love -

to tell me I will soon forget,

there will be others to regret.

Now all the years have proved you wrong,

my love for him (her) burns bright and strong;

you can't divide the stars from night -

from love there can be no respite.
