The Courting App

Summary:

Broke college student, Geto Suguru, downloads the Courting App to meet rich Alphas. He ends up getting his wish and a whole lot more than he bargained for when he meets the dark and mysterious, Gojo Satoru.

Chapter Text

Geto Suguru is a broke college student in need of money, fast. There’s no better way to put it.

His foster parents can barely afford to put him through college which is why he relies on scholarships, grants, and his part-time job at a local coffee shop.

With some nudging from his best friend and roommate, Shoko Ieiri, he grows a pair and downloads the popular Courting App where young omegas can connect with wealthy alphas who are willing to shower them in money and gifts for intimacy in exchange.

“Use the picture you took when we were in Okinawa,” Shoko says. She’s laying on the couch in their apartment with her feet propped up. “The one in front of the Kuroshio Sea.”

Sitting with his back resting against the same couch so that Shoko can look over his shoulder, Suguru searches through his phone’s gallery for the picture she’s referring to. He doesn’t have any nudes or lewds in his phone so he scrolls through his pictures freely.

None of his friends can say the same, Shoko especially. Suguru has had to wash his eyeballs with bleach after mistakenly scrolling too far while looking through Shoko’s phone a few times.

“You looked great that day.”

Looking at the picture of himself standing in front of the massive fish tank, Suguru wishes he looked like this everyday.

Since it was his birthday he had his hair shampooed at a salon and they gave him a trim, and he was wearing a floral sweetheart dress that fit him tight at the waist. Initially, he was reluctant to wear the dress because he isn’t comfortable in them.

After running track and doing martial arts for nearly ten years, he doesn’t have the kind of body that fits society’s perfect idea of an omega.

It was cold that day, on his birthday, but he was determined to wear the dress because someone bought it for him so he wore a thick coat and leggings to keep him warm. The poofy sleeves on his dress made him look like the dress’s namesake; like a sweetheart. He looked nothing like the cave dwelling gremlin he usually is.

“Does this make me look too…?” Suguru tries to find the word. “Too innocent or something.”

“You look like a total babe. Don’t nitpick.”

Suguru is nitpicking. He does that when he isn’t one hundred percent sold on something. Like this whole sugaring thing, for instance. How is he sure this app is even safe? The reviews are positive but they could be fake? Also, what if the alphas are old creeps? He knows they’re going to be older than him but how much older?

“Just submit the damn picture, Suguru,” Shoko says with an exasperated sigh. “Mei Mei already says it’s legit. She was just in Spain last month with her sponsor.”

“Mei Mei’s family is loaded, why is she even on the app?”

Shoko shrugs. “Does it matter?”

“I guess not.”

“You’re stalling.”

“Fine!” Suguru uploads the picture to his profile. It’s going to take a while for it to be reviewed to verify if he’s real or not. “Once it’s verified I'll be on the market.”

“And one step closer to not being a broke bitch.”

Suguru hopes so. There are thousands of omegas looking for the same thing as him, though. His profile could very well be overlooked.

“That was fast,” Suguru says, hearing the loud notification ping. He opens the app again and is met by confetti and celebratory music. “I’m verified.”

Shoko claps. “Next stop shopping trips and allowances!”

Suguru has to admit he’s as excited as he is nervous. He wants to be spoiled and given an allowance, but he doesn’t want to get tangled up with some crazy alpha.

Every Thursday, Suguru has to sit in a lecture hall for a little over an hour, learning about historical figures who helped shape the country.

He uses his laptop to “take notes” while his professor drones on and on. He’s online window shopping at a clothing store website, thinking about how cool it’d be to actually purchase the items in his shopping cart for a change.

Suguru is crushed every time he learns that an item he really wanted is no longer available. But he’s used to it by now.

In the middle of his daydream about the outfit he’s been eyeballing for a couple of days now, he gets a notification on his phone.

When he sees that it’s a new message from the Courting App, he rolls his eyes and ignores it.

Almost two weeks have passed since he made his account, and despite the constant messages from interested alphas none of them check all of his boxes.

He’s not picky — not that picky — but he doesn’t want someone the same age as his grandfather and he isn’t interested in alphas who immediately start talking about knotting him.

Suguru knows it’s ridiculous to think this, but he would like to be romanced.

Courting is an age old tradition that most omegas want to experience at least once in their lives. Even if the courting in this situation is part of a fabricated arrangement he wants to experience it.

His first and only real boyfriend was a beta who didn’t know much about the courting rituals between alpha and omega.

Despite that, he was a good boyfriend to Suguru. At the start anyway. They were each other’s firsts, and for a long time they were in love. Then after graduation they went to different universities and well, people change.

That is Suguru’s way of saying his ex-boyfriend cheated on him with multiple people.

It happened last semester, which was Suguru’s first semester of university. After the horrific breakup, he struggled with his classes because he was depressed. His friends helped him a lot, though. That’s why he’s forever grateful to Shoko.

This semester was supposed to be a fresh start but now he has to deal with financial issues. He’s also not completely over his Ex.

Tired of looking at clothes he can’t afford, Suguru takes some class notes but soon he can’t focus at all. He can always get the notes from someone else. Usually, he takes notes and pays attention in class but it’s hard to do that when he’s worried about so many things.

Rent will be due soon. He has the money for it but once it’s paid he won’t have money for anything else, not even groceries. Suguru is very close to just accepting one of the creepy old men who messaged him as a sponsor. He’ll have to swallow down his discomfort and just fucking deal.

Since he’s too anxious to pay attention in class, he decides to open the Courting App. He’ll just pick someone and get this show on the road already.

Suguru checks his new message first.

< Gojo-san: What’s your favorite aquatic animal and why?

Initially, Suguru thinks the question is weird, but then he remembers his profile picture has him standing in front of a fish tank. It’s a well-known tank so it’s obvious which aquarium he’s at, too.

It’s also the first message where someone asks him something that isn’t related to his heating cycles or his favorite sex position.

> Geto-san: Sea turtles. They’re cute and it’s been proven that they have their own personalities. What about you?

Clicking out of their message thread, Suguru does a quick run through of Gojo’s profile. He should’ve done that sooner but he was thrown off by the question.

First, he reads Gojo’s bio. It’s very short and to the point.

Gojo is 33, single, unmated with no kids. He is a social smoker and drinker with a sweet tooth. His work occupation is simply listed as ‘employed’ and his estimated net worth makes Suguru eyes bulge out of their socket.

Is this guy seriously this loaded??

Returning to their message thread, Suguru sees that Gojo replied.

> Gojo-san: Orcas. It’s self-explanatory.

Orcas are the top of the oceanic food chain. This guy is cocky. If his listed net worth is real then he has every right to be.

Still, Suguru isn’t going to kiss his ass. Not yet anyway.

< Geto-san: Does that mean you’re a big show off?

> Gojo-san: Hard not to be when you’re built like me.

Suguru worries he opened the door for sexual innuendos when Gojo replies again.

> Gojo-san: I’m 190 cm with white hair. I show off without trying to.

That tall?! Most alphas are 185-187cm. And white hair? Suguru returns to Gojo’s profile and loads up the picture he failed to check earlier. He’s way off his game all because of a random question.

In the picture, there is a handsome alpha with styled white hair that’s parted to the side, making him look sleek and processional. Only the top of his body is showing. He’s wearing a black business suit with a red pocket square, and dark shades that are lowered just enough to show off his dazzling blue eyes. He’s smirking in the picture, staring confidently into the camera’s lens.

Suguru thinks this guy is too hot to be real. He has way more money than anyone else on this app has from what Suguru has seen, he’s not old compared to the others, and he seems normal.

This is too good to be true.

Even though this feels like an obvious scam, Suguru can’t put his phone away. Class ends and he sits on a bench outside of the building messaging Gojo.

< Geto-san: How long did it take for you to bleach your hair to get that color?

> Gojo-san: Au naturale

< Geto-san: No way!

> Gojo-san: Yes way!

Suguru smiles at that reply because he knows Gojo is mocking him in a playful way. But he wants to know if this guy is legit or not before he wastes more time talking to him. Everyone on the app has to go through a verification process but how difficult would it be for a fake to slip through the cracks?

< Geto-san: Well, it’s been nice chatting with you Catfish-san but I’m looking for real suitors. My bills won’t pay themselves.

> Gojo-san: I’m going to be paying your bills soon so chat with me some more. I’m in a boring meeting.

That first sentence leaves Suguru speechless. Every message he types up in response is quickly deleted. He doesn’t know what to reply. He only knows that he likes the way Gojo worded it.

Usually cocky people are a major turn off for him, but this is different. Besides, is it really cockiness if Gojo can back up what he’s saying?

< Geto-san: Why is the meeting boring?

>Gojo-san: Bunch of idiots trying to sound smart.

< Geto-san: If you’re that bored then leave.

>Gojo-san: Can’t.
>Gojo-san: I’m flying out for a business trip late tonight. Can we meet up before that?

Just when Suguru was getting his footing again with this conversation, Gojo throws him another fast one. He wants to meet up already? That’s so soon. Suguru has to make sure this guy is legit and he has to take care of other things before he meets up with a potential sponsor.

Touching the messy bun his hair has been in for three days, he grimaces. He needs to shampoo his hair, do something about his split ends, and shave his legs. Before he can come up with some half-assed excuse as to why he can’t meet up with Gojo tonight, he gets another message.

> Gojo-san: Did I scare you off?

Suguru wishes Shoko was here to talk him through this. But it’s time to put his big omega panties on.

Also, he can simply lie to this guy. It’s not like he knows anything about him.

< Geto-san: No. I’m in class.

> Gojo-san: When does it let out?

< Geto-san: In a half hour.

> Gojo-san: Okay.

Okay? Is that it? Suguru tries to think of something to say back but he doesn’t know where to start or what new angle to take. Does this mean Gojo will give up and find someone else?

Suguru gets off the bench and hurriedly walks across campus to the freshmen dorms where Shoko works as a RA. She should be starting her shift by now.

History is always his last class on Thursday so his schedule is free for the remainder of the day.

Using his identification card, Suguru unlocks the door to the dormitory. Taking a right, he goes to the female beta side where Shoko is sitting at the front desk, looking bored.

Because he hangs out with her while she’s at work a lot, he goes straight to the side door and lets himself in. He sits on the floor next to her chair so that none of the students see him.

Without looking up from her manga, Shoko asks him what’s up.

“This alpha from the Courting App wants to meet up tonight. I’m freaking out because it’s so sudden!”

“Is he hot?”

“Very.” Suguru thinks about Gojo’s profile picture. “He’s arguably the hottest guy I’ve seen on the app.”

“Then what’s the problem? You don’t have a class tomorrow so you can be out late.”

Suguru sighs because Shoko is still lazily flipping through her manga instead of freaking out with him. “I’ve never met up with a stranger before like this and we’ve only chatted a little and now he wants to meet me!”

“That’s the whole point of the app. Meeting a rich hottie and milking him for his money.”

“Cool so if my body is found in a ditch tomorrow morning be sure to keep this enthusiasm when the cops question you.”

“You’re so dramatic, Suguru.” Shoko laughs and looks at him finally. “Go home, shave your damn legs, find some panties that don’t have cute designs on them, and go meet this guy.”

Suguru scowls, and no matter how intimidating he tries to look when he makes this face he always ends up looking like a grumpy kitten. “For your information, I don’t always wear those kinds of panties.” Besides what’s wrong with cute designs? “It’s not like he’s going to see them tonight anyway.”

“Then why does he want to meet up?”

“Because…shit I don’t know. I didn’t ask.”

“You’re doing all of this because he simply suggested meeting up?”

Suguru’s grin is sheepish. “Maybe.”

“You’re so annoying.”

Suguru has a retort on his lips when his phone vibrates. Checking the screen he sees he has a new message.

> Gojo-san: Are you free now?

That half hour flew by.

It even looks like Gojo gave him an extra five minutes to leave class.

This guy…

< Geto-san: Do you want to meet up to discuss business or something else?

> Gojo-san: Business. Are you interested in hearing what I have to offer?

Suguru looks at Shoko to ask for her opinion but she’s reading again. He thinks about how they could easily discuss Gojo’s offer over the phone without meeting in person. Wouldn’t it be easier that way? Wouldn’t it be safer that way?

He continues to stare at Gojo’s message, trying to weigh the pros and cons. The cons are obvious and they’re the standard fear of meeting up with a stranger.

The pros are obvious, too. Either he does it or he backs out. One or the other. If he’s going to go through with this sugaring thing he needs to get used to stepping out of his comfort zone.

< Geto-san: I’m interested. Tell me the time and place.

“Share your location with me,” Shoko says as she applies eyeliner to Suguru’s right eyelid. “Trust your instincts. Omegas have sharper instincts than alpha’s right?”

“Yeah but people believe it’s the other way around.”

“Alphas are better at everything,” she says with a sarcastic drawl. She steps back to admire her work. Looking pleased with herself, she picks up a handheld mirror and gives it to him. “He said he had to fly out for a business trip so it’s not too weird that he wants to meet you at the airport.”

Suguru stares at his face in the mirror. He hasn’t worn makeup since his ex-boyfriend came to visit him one weekend last semester.

That was before their split. He likes that Shoko kept it simple. Just a little concealer, a light blush, lip gloss, and winged eyeliner.

“The cab he’s sending is going to pick me up at the bookstore,” Suguru says.

When Gojo offered to send his car for him, Suguru asked if he could send a cab instead to a neutral location, and Gojo said that was perfectly fine.

There’s a bookstore a couple of blocks from their apartment. Since there is a lot of student housing in this area, it would be difficult for anyone to pinpoint where exactly he lives.

Gojo already knows he’s a student, too. Being this close to campus doesn’t matter either way.

“Suguru, you’re insane,” Shoko says as she watches Suguru stand up. “If I had a body like yours I’d wear skimpy clothes every day. Even to class.”

Suguru ignores his reflection in the mirror, not wanting to see his body. “You’d still wear your frumpy sweaters, who are you kidding?”

Shoko laughs because she knows he’s right. She has a great body, though. Very lean and long. Her torso looks killer in a cropped top, too.

Suguru’s wearing a pencil skirt and a blouse, going for the sexy secretary vibe. It’s not intentional. He just didn’t have anything else to put on where he would feel sexy as well as comfortable. If he had it his way he’d wear sweats and a hoodie though.

As they’re walking up to the bookstore that’s closed for the night, they see a sleek black car parked in front of it. Even though it’s not a standard taxi cab, it’s definitely the car Gojo sent for Suguru.

The license plate is telling. It simply reads “cab.”

“Your chariot awaits,” Shoko says under her breath as she nudges Suguru forward. “If you decide to go to a hotel or something let me know. Otherwise I’ll assume something went wrong at the airport.”

He shared his location with her before they left their apartment.

Suguru’s heart is in his stomach, threatening to fall out of his ass but he walks up to the car anyway. Before he can reach the door, the driver’s door opens and a chauffeur steps out with a kind bow. He opens the door for Suguru.

Looking over his shoulder, Suguru sees that Shoko is giving him a supportive thumbs up.

There is no one else inside of the car but that is expected. Gojo told him that they could meet at the airport. Suguru takes note of how comfortable the leather seats are and how good the car smells once he’s seated.

There is a partition window that has a dark tint so he can’t see the driver and the driver can’t see him.

Suguru finds that comforting.

As the car drives away from the bookstore, he stares out of the window, watching the buildings, store fronts, and street lamps pass by. The airport is a good forty-five minutes out of the city, especially with the late night traffic. He’s anxious to get all of this over with but he likes that he has time to get his thoughts together.

The driver is playing smooth jazz that’s turned down to a relaxing volume, helping him think clearly. He knows what he’s looking for in terms of a sponsor. From the sounds of things, Gojo also knows what he’s looking for in terms of a sugar baby.

Hopefully their interests align.

Suguru spends the duration of the car ride going through possible scenarios for this meeting. He’s in the middle of a really juicy scenario where he learns that Gojo-san is the prince of a faraway land and he wants Suguru as a wife when the car pulls into a secluded area of the airport.

Listen, he has no idea how his scenario got to that point. He was just exploring any and every possibility. Also, maybe he’s secretly a sap.

Seeing the private jet and the limousine parked next to it, Suguru’s mouth drops open. There are two intimidating men standing outside of the limousine wearing black suits, dark shades, and earpieces in their left ears.

They’re Gojo’s security guards.

“Gojo-sama is waiting,” the chauffeur says as he opens the car door for Suguru.

Suguru is a bundle of nerves during the short walk to the limousine. Another chauffeur is there waiting for him. He opens the door and Suguru glances inside before getting in. He sees long legs covered in black dress pants, and he remembers that Gojo is 6’3.

Taking a deep breath, Suguru gets into the limousine, sliding into the seat that’s across from Gojo.

“Damn,” is the first word out of Gojo’s mouth. He’s wearing a white dress shirt that has the top two buttons undone and the sleeves rolled up to his elbows. His forearms are thick just like his biceps. “You look even better in person, Geto-san.”

Gojo’s voice is way deeper than Suguru thought it would be, and the way he speaks is different. He thought this guy would be clean and cut but the way he enunciates his words doesn’t fit his businessman persona.

Suguru smiles at the compliment, bowing his head faintly. “You look better in your profile picture,” he says as a joke.

Gojo actually looks way better in person.

“I’m often told that,” Gojo says. His smirk shows that he’s joking as well. “Disappointed?”

The way Gojo’s pretty lips are parted open, showing a glimpse of pearly white fangs awakens something inside of Suguru. He’s always been a sucker for a nice smile. Then there’s the rest of Gojo; his athletic build, his height, the way his clothes fit him, and even the way he smells.

“I’m not too disappointed,” Suguru says to mask how pleased he actually is. “Long day?” he asks, noticing that Gojo’s tie is undone, hanging lazily around his neck.

Gojo looks surprised by the question. “Meetings back to back,” he says, shrugging. “The usual. What about you? Do you have classes every Thursday?”

“Tuesdays and Thursdays are my busiest class days.”

“What does your availability look like?”

“I have one class Monday and Wednesday but work in the afternoon. I work at night on Fridays.”

“What about the weekend?”

“I’m usually tired from classes and work. I also have to study.”

Gojo nods thoughtfully. “Quit your job,” he says in all seriousness. “I’m going to want to spend time with you on the weekends. I’ll need you well rested.”

Suguru stares at Gojo as if he spontaneously grew a second head. “Quit my job? I can’t-”

“Why not? I’ll be taking care of you financially. You don’t have to work anymore.”

“Who said that I was going to agree to an arrangement with you?”

Gojo’s eyes are more expressive than the rest of his face is. They’ve been shining like jewels ever since Suguru got into the car. The way he’s staring at Suguru - at his body and his mouth - speaks of desire and even possession.

It’s clear that in Gojo’s eyes Suguru already belongs to him. And it’s jarring to have someone like this look at him this way.

Suguru’s instincts are going haywire. He needs to get out of this limousine and demand that the driver take him back to the bookstore. This is the kind of alpha he doesn’t want to get tangled upwith.

“How about you tell me what you’re looking for in a sponsor,” Gojo says. He widens his thighs and rests his hands on his lap, making himself comfortable.

For some unknown reason, that is definitely stupid whatever it is, Suguru decides to lay everything out to Gojo. Well, half of it. He wants either a bi-weekly or monthly allowance, his rent paid, and gifts.

The other half, that he leaves out, is that he wants to be pampered and doted on the way omegas usually are. He’s too prideful to say that out loud. He spent a majority of his life playing tough and trying to “not be like the other girls” and all it did was get him with someone who didn’t truly love him or understand him.

He’s still learning to be honest with himself which is why he can’t tell Gojo every single thing that he wants.

“Is that all?” Gojo asks once Suguru is done. “You only want money and gifts?”

“Yes.”

Gojo is smirking again, looking as if he’s privy to some dark secret. “You sure you don’t want me to pamper and shower you with affection, Baby?”

Baby? Suguru hates pet names.

He hates pet names, sappy affection, and having attention on him. Saying he hates those things is easier than admitting that he enjoys them but hasn’t found anyone willing to give him that. His ex-boyfriend was sweet but he treated Suguru like “one of the guys” due to their shared love for sports.

Gojo pats his lap. “Come here.”

Suguru stares at Gojo’s lap, at how big it is.

That’s the kind of lap where a petite little omega can sit comfy, but someone like him would just look awkward sitting on Gojo’s lap. He wants to turn Gojo’s offer down but the way Gojo is staring at him right now makes him want to do a lot of things he should be embarrassed to even think about.

They’re alone in this limousine, though. Together in this small space where the air is heavy with Gojo’s commanding aura.

“Not quite what I wanted,” Gojo whispers as he starts to pet the top of Suguru’s head. “But this will do for now.”

Suguru is kneeling on the floor between Gojo’s legs, staring up at him in quiet wonderment. How did it come to this? How did Gojo manage to make him react this way without raising his voice or using an alpha’s gift of compulsion? He feels like Gojo can see his soul, like he knows every secret that lies beneath his skin.

“You want me to take care of you?” Gojo asks, his fingers combing through Suguru’s hair at the back, grazing over the nape. “Want me to treat you like my little princess?”

“The word ‘little’ doesn’t fit me.”

“According to whom?” Gojo raises his other hand, spreading it out over Suguru’s face to show him how much larger it is compared to his face. “You’ve never been with an alpha, have you?”

Suguru stares at Gojo’s massive hand.

Alphas are bigger than betas and omegas, he knew that, but the difference is still startling. “No,” he replies, his voice lower than he intended.

They’re both talking in hushed voices, adding an extra layer of intimacy to the moment.

“You’re the perfect fit for me, Geto-san.”

Suguru finds it difficult to have Gojo’s eyes on his face. He lowers his head. Gojo touches his chin, his touch gentle, and he lifts Suguru’s head, making him look at him. He stares at Suguru as if he’s going to speak but instead he starts to rub Suguru’s chin, moving his hand to caress the side of his face and then back down to his chin before going to his neck.

Slowly, Gojo closes his hand around Suguru’s throat. With each amount of added pressure, Suguru’s eyes lower, a gasp threatening to exit his parted lips. He feels like a trapped bunny in the jaws of a python.

And he likes that feeling.

Gojo’s thumb is rubbing the skin directly under Suguru’s left ear. Leaning down, he rubs the left side of his face against the right side of Suguru’s face, breathing in his scent and sighing deeply. Gojo’s breath tickles, making Suguru whimper from the sensation.

The air around them shifts. Suguru feels a shiver travel down his spine, and he knows it's his instincts trying to warn him. But his reaction is delayed because his senses are numbed from his close proximity to Gojo.

Suguru doesn’t have time to brace himself. The hand around his neck tightens, not painfully, as Gojo kisses him. Whatever mask of restraint Gojo tried to wear slips.

The kiss is hot, messy, and more tongue than lips. Geto is out of practice so he’s a passive participant at first. His mouth is parted open, allowing Gojo’s tongue to roam as it pleases, and he can tell that Gojo likes that.

Gojo likes exploring Suguru’s mouth, licking his teeth and gums, and sucking on his tongue.

Once Gojo starts sucking on his tongue, Suguru wakes up. Wildfire spreads through his body, pooling in the pit of his stomach. He starts kissing Gojo back. He fists his hands in Gojo’s dress shirt, panting and moaning, forgetting that this is a stranger who he just met today.

Suguru is making out with a stranger in the back of their limousine while two security guards are posted up outside. He doesn’t even know Gojo’s occupation. Not a single contract has been signed, nothing has been set in stone.

Yet Suguru is on his knees acting like a needy little bitch.

What happened to all of his uncertainty and his bashfulness? Gojo happened. Something about Gojo just made him forget that he was ever afraid or insecure in the first place.

Suguru squeaks in surprise when Gojo picks him up and places him on his lap. Looking down at himself, Suguru sees that his skirt is hiked up, showing off his red, lace panties, and his thighs are on either side of Gojo’s hips. He didn’t want his thighs exposed. They’re too big and muscular and-

“You’re fucking gorgeous,” Gojo murmurs as he touches Suguru’s thighs, admiring them. “If this trip was for leisure and not business, I’d take you with me.” He touches Suguru’s ass, nudging him forward to resume their kiss.

With no escape in sight, Suguru puts his arms around Gojo’s neck, continuing the kiss. He likes the way Gojo is squeezing his ass, how perfectly it fits in his large hands. He loves the feel of his pussy pressed close to Gojo’s erection that’s straining against his pants.

It feels big. Bigger than his ex-boyfriend, and Suguru is excited and scared to be fucked by Gojo.

Not because he doesn’t think he can take him. He probably can’t but he could get used to him. What scares Suguru is that he knows he’s going to want to fuck Gojo all the time.

There’s a sudden knock on the window.

Gasping, Suguru tries to move off of Gojo’s lap. He’s startled and his heart is pounding. That knock on the window pulls him back down to earth, grounding him.

Gojo doesn’t let him move. “Time for my flight,” he says, sounding apologetic. He rubs Suguru’s back and kisses his chin. “I’ll be back Monday. Let’s have dinner.”

“I have to work.” Suguru’s voice is unrecognizable. He sounds like he just ran five laps; he’s winded.

“You’re quitting, remember?” Gojo is rubbing Suguru’s arms and looking at him like he’s a concerned father. “I want you to have time for me.”

Suguru touches Gojo’s shoulders delicately. “Yes, sir,” he says quietly, testing the waters.

Gojo’s eyes darken. “Give me your number. Let’s stay in touch while I’m gone. I hate chatting on that app.”

They exchange numbers and then Gojo gives Suguru time to fix his appearance before they exit the limousine. Gojo walks Suguru to where the cab is still parked and he opens the door for him.

“Have a safe flight,” Suguru says because he always tells people stuff like that without thought.

Gojo once again looks surprised by his sincerity. “Talk to you soon, Geto-san.”
