Chapter Text

Pete's folding laundry when the call comes in. "Hey Porsche!"
"Tell me you're not busy." His friend's voice is strained and underlined with anger.
"What's wrong?"
"It's...I...ugh. I can't do this over the phone. Tell me you're not busy." He looks at Vegas who's looking at him, worried, from where he's glued to his laptop on the coffee table.
"I'm not busy." He smiles to reassure him and Vegas nods before going back to typing, albeit at a much slower pace than previously.
"Meet me at Yok's?"
"When?"
"Now."
"Are you...fighting with Kinn?"
"...how did you know?" He can't help it, he laughs. Vegas looks up at the sound and grants him a soft smile before going back to his initial fast typing.
"Sure, see you at Yok's." He hangs up.

"Going out?" It's said so casually that if he didn't know better, he would think Vegas isn't bothered by it. But he does know better.
"Yeah, with Porsche." He heads upstairs to put away the laundry and change. By the time he's back downstairs, Vegas has abandoned all pretense of doing his work. "Hey." He steps closer and directs Vegas' arms to wrap around him. Once it's clear what he's doing, Vegas takes over and holds him tightly around the waist, his head buried near his stomach. "Vegas." Almost as if he's been scolded, Vegas unwinds immediately.
"Sorry, sorry, I-" He cuts off and bows his head.
"Vegas. Look at me." And Vegas raises his head, lip bitten and eyes contrite. His hands slowly frame his face and he leans down to bring their foreheads together. "I love you. And I'll be back."
"Promise?" It's a barely there whisper.
"I promise." He pecks his lips. As he pulls back, he can hear a slight whine which makes him smile. When he sees Vegas pouting, he can't help it. He leans back in to kiss him properly.

--

He finds Porsche at Yok's several glasses in. He's always thought of Porsche as a happy drunk but he guesses he's never seen him drunk while upset before. He joins in and it doesn't take long before they're both very drunk. "What-what're you fighting about anyway?" He's pretty sure Yok's just handing them water at this point but Porsche doesn't seem to have noticed and he's not sure he cares. Porsche mumbles something, sloshing his glass. "What'd you say?"
"Don't remember." His friend pouts. "Still mad though. Stupid Kinn." Yok interjects at this point.
"I think it's about time you two went home." Home. Where Vegas is. He misses Vegas. Porsche groans.
"Don't wanna."
"You don't want to what Porsche?" Yok asks.
"Fighting with Kinn. Don't wanna see him." This is going to be a long argument, he can tell. And he wants to go home and see Vegas.
"Just come to my place." He says. This is a brilliant idea. Yok has them go, Porsche doesn't see Kinn, and he gets to see Vegas. Everyone wins. Porsche nods, and they start the arduous process of trying to walk out of the bar.
"Don't drive drunk!" Yok calls after them. Oh right, they should get a taxi.

How Porsche got them a taxi so efficiently, he has no idea. It seems to have taken all his energy though since he's now deadweight draped across his side. Pete does his seatbelt for him. He's such a good friend. "Where to?" Oh, did they not tell the taxi man? Oh well.
"Vegas."
"Vegas?"
"Vegas. We're gonna go to Vegas together to see the love of my life."
The taxi man smiles. "Oh I see. I can take you part of the way there." Pete smiles back, happy to be closer to Vegas. "In the meantime, why don't you tell me about the love of your life?" Pete is more than happy to. He babbles about Vegas and how pretty he is when he smiles and how pretty his hands are until they pull up in front of a big shiny building. He frowns. This isn't where Vegas is. The taxi man seems to catch his confusion.
"So I brought you to the airport. This is the gate for an airline that goes to America. If you go in, I'm sure the person at the desk will help you get the rest of the way to Vegas." Vegas? He perks up. Oh. Right, the taxi man is helping them get part of the way to Vegas. Silly Pete. He shakes Porsche awake.
"Pete?" He sits up and runs the sleep out of his eyes and squints at the taxi man. "This isn't Vegas."
"Just talk to the person at the desk and they'll help you to Vegas." The taxi man repeats. Pete nods seriously and hands over some cash. He's pretty sure he's paid way more than the required amount but he can't math right now. At least the taxi man seems pleased. Nodding at taxi man in thanks, he staggers out and helps Porsche up.

By the time they're inside and talking to the lady at the desk, Porsche is draped over him again. Porsche is an octopus when drunk, he'd forgetten. The lady is looking at them expectantly.
"How may I help you?"
"We're trying to go to Vegas."
"Vegas?"
"We're gonna go to Vegas to see the love of my life." She's eyeing them a little oddly.
"I see.." She looks away to type at the computer. "Well, there is an available flight to Vegas tomorrow morning. The next available flight leaves in an hour but only has first class seats available." Pete blinks. Tomorrow? He can't wait until tomorrow, he wants to see Vegas now.
"First class?"
"You pay more money." She says patiently. Oh. Oh! Pete knows this. Bribery. He's never had to do it before but he knows how it works. How much cash does he have again? Does the lady take card?

--

The lady does take card. He has no idea how much he gave her and technically that was Vegas' card. Oh well. He's sure Vegas will forgive him. It was an emergency after all. If he didn't use it, the lady wouldn't have taken him to Vegas until tomorrow. He nods in satisfaction. Vegas will forgive him for sure.

The plane seats are more comfortable than he thought they would be. Next to him, Porsche wiggles before slowly blinking awake, grumbling all the while. "Where?"
"Going to see Vegas." He squirms, pleased. Vegas is probably sitting on the sofa, waiting for him like he always does when he goes out. Maybe if he says he's tired, Vegas will carry him up to bed and then they can-
"Stupid Kinn." Right. Porsche is here too. What's a good way to distract him?
"Ooh look! They have drinks!"

--

When they are told they've arrived, Pete is very unhappy to see no Vegas in sight. Porsche is happier at least. "C'mon. If we go to a bar, surely someone will know who Vegas is. It's not like he's very low-key."

Which is how they ended up here. How Porsche found a bar where everyone only speaks English and doesn't know Vegas is a mystery to him. He knows he's sulking but this is just annoying. If he hadn't followed Porsche out, he would be in bed with Vegas right now. It's late so they would probably cuddling by now. Vegas would be wrapped around him so he could smell his hair while he gets to listen to Vegas' heartbeat, sore in the most delicious way. Instead, he followed Porsche out and now he's drinking and watching Porsche show off his family ring to a group of pretty girls. Pretty, but not as pretty as Vegas. With his sharp cheekbones and the way his eyes get sharper when Pete's tied up and at his mercy-
"Pete!" He jerks back to reality to find Porsche clinging to his arm and his group of pretty girls surrounding them. "Pete, she speaks Thai. Find Vegas." He points to one of the girls. Porsche is getting more and more incoherent and is starting to nod off.

The girl, it turns out, does not actually speak much Thai. Still, he's more than happy to tell her all about Vegas and how soft his hair is before he gels it in the morning. The way too many chilis make his eyes water and his nose itchy but he adds more for Pete anyway. And how hot he is in that red shirt. Actually though, Pete confides in her, he's actually more fond of Vegas in that one black shirt with constellations on it. The girls are all cooing and saying things about how sweet it is. Pete nods in satisfaction. That's right, his Vegas is secretly very sweet. They seem to understand since they usher him and Porsche out with them. Maybe they know where Vegas is?

---

They don't know where Vegas is. They take them to some small white building where they talk to some guy in black robes. Porsche is still plastered to his back but he's starting to wake up a bit. The guy doesn't seem to know where to find Vegas either because the girls are chattering as they all sweep into cars and take them to a hotel. Porsche wakes up in the car which is good because he's getting tired. Ugh. He wants Vegas. The girls are cooing and offering phones. Well, even if they didn't find Vegas, at least they tried. He gives them his number, maybe when he's not so tired, he'll tell them more about how amazing Vegas is. Someone's tugging his arm.
"Pete." Oh, it's Porsche.
"Hm?"
"Come on, I got us a room." Well, a bed is a bed. Even if Vegas won't be in it. Porsche is basically carrying him which is good since his legs are not working.

The next thing he knows, he's been tossed onto a bed. Someone's messing with his shoes. Right, no shoes in bed. He tries to help kick it off but he's tired. With the last of his energy, he snuggles a pillow and bats away the red flowers. Why are there flowers on the bed anyway? Porsche must've gotten his shoes off too since he snuggles in. That's nice. Not as nice as cuddling with Vegas, but if there's no Vegas, Porsche is the next best thing. His eyes are growing heavy. A nap wouldn't hurt. Vegas will understand. He'll go back to looking for him after a nap.
