Dokja was completely baring his heart out onstage. The screams and fanchants went unheard to him. As the soloist sang his heart out, like he's never done before, he zeroed in on the flashing cameras. It was as if he wasn't looking at a camera, but staring into the eyes of someone beyond the screen.
Dokja let himself open to his vulnerabilities before opening his mouth to sing,
I let my own demons consume me until I became one
No longer recognized myself in the reflection of your eyes
A tear slipped down from his right eye, then another. He moves slowly to the other side of the stage, waiting for the next sequence of the song. Dokja hears the drums and guitar pick up and raises his microphone once again.
I thought we could have reached our happy ending
Trying to find what was meant for us
Fighting my own self that this was meant to be
Tried love for once, to give us the hope I always dreamed of
But our happy ending was already in front of me
And now all I’m left with is an emptiness that continues to persist the gaping hole in my chest.
I’ve let my demons consume me so much that I’ve become the demon that ruined our happy ending
I’ve torn our happy ending to pieces until nothing of it is left
In contrast with his dark surroundings filled with small bursts of light that look like constellations, Dokja’s white suit makes him stand out like a bright star. To the fans standing below the stage, it was as if Dokja was a loner, a form of salvation that can only be admired and never touched. Once the background audio fades, Dokja smiles solemnly towards the camera. His bright eyes flash in the darkness, sparkling as if there were a million stars held within his gaze.

Dokja’s 2.5 year hiatus … and his comeback
So … I just watched his MV for “Our Happy Ending” and his comeback stage and I’m in disbelief. The raw emotion in that song makes me feel that this is the one album that Dokja put all of his heart into. I feel as if I’ve seen a whole new side of him and it makes me speechless. It’s so beautiful and whenever I listen to it, I find myself feeling as if I can connect to him on another level. He makes me feel understood with this song.
Honestly, this entire album shows a new side of Dokja and I really feel he’s letting his guard down and he’s being vulnerable in ways he never has before (at least to the public). I know “Our Happy Ending” is his title track, but if you listen to “Fitting In” you can really tell how Dokja views himself and how he’s never truly felt normal. Before you guys call me delusional, Dokja said it himself in his recent interview with Bihyung from DokkaebiStars that he wanted to be honest for once in his life and stop hiding away. “Enclosed Spaces” is another favorite song of mine in this album. Dokja said that this particular song is meant to show how small and trapped he feels, especially in his youth. To me, when he says “ Never outgrown the need to hide away, never been able to let my wings expand in the enclosed spaces I force myself into” makes me think Dokja is trying to say he still struggles with his past. I like to think that this song helps Dokja confront his childhood traumas and lets him continue to grow more now. I feel I can ramble on and on about the other songs in this album but this post would get way too long. There’s just so much to say but so little words to convey how this album made me feel and I’m honestly speechless. I thought I wouldn’t be able to get over blonde dokja from nearly 3 years ago but this takes the cake guys.

His comeback stage was just everything omg *chefs kiss* He looked so good with his hair slicked back and omg his stage outfit? I know we love a good blonde dokja but with his natural hair combined with the all white suit? The dark stage? It was like the focus was all on him instead of anything else. In a way it made me feel like he was trying to have all eyes on him, out in the open, no distractions from anything or anyone else whatsoever. I feel there’s just a beauty in that that I can’t even explain omg. And HE WAS CRYING? DOKJA? OUR DOKJA? OMG CRYING? I STARTED CRYING WHEN I SAW THAT OMG IM STILL CRYING WHAAAAA

Ok but is no one going to talk about “Mommy Dearest” in his recent? Geez … as someone with mommy issues as well I couldn’t relate more. I feel he really nailed that one down. I sincerely hope that Dokja has a live stage for that song because it’s so raw. And that high note … geez vocal king for a REASON. Seeing that song being sung live sighs … I really hope to see

“Kim Dokja, the soloist returns after a 2 ½ year long hiatus! We are lucky to have him here but before we start our interview, let’s give a warm applause to our favorite singer!” Bihyung stands up and begins clapping, followed along by the rest of the audience.
Dokja is seen bowing to everyone before giving a sheepish smile, rubbing the back of his head. He wore a white blouse that fits snug around his waist paired with black slacks, sitting back down on his seat to Bihyung’s right, crossing his long legs.
“Thank you for having me here, Bihyung. It has certainly been quite a while since I’ve been performing,” Dokja nervously smiles.
“That’s right! I have to ask, what made you come out of your hiatus? This is the longest EP you have come out with and it’s very different from your previous work. What was your inspiration?”
“I have to admit that during my hiatus, I took a lot of time coming to terms with many things that I have done, haven’t done, and all of my regrets. It’s made me realize a bit more of what I need to do before I’m able to be more comfortable with myself.”
Dokja releases a shaky breath before continuing, “I guess you can say that I’ve had the time to be more honest with myself and the only way I could establish this was through writing these lyrics and singing it out. In a way, it’s speaking my own truth to those who need to hear it … if they want to.”
“Wow, it sounds like you poured your heart and soul into this. I must ask, Dokja-ssi, if there was anyone that you wrote these songs for? ‘Our Happy Ending’ sounds like a love song yearning for the one who left them.” Bihyung leans closer, elbows propped up on his table.
“Well you see—”

[Gif 4: Slowly turning toward the camera Dokja smiles sadly, “It’s time for you to move on from this story of us without me.” He closes the book in his hand, gently placing it back on the desk and leaves the scene.]
[Gif 5: The scene changes back to the silhouette of Dokja watching the tides of the ocean. The side of his figure is shown, watching the sun set as he slightly dips his head with his eyes closed, taking in the last bit of warmth before the night cold comes in. Dokja takes another breath in and looks up with a sad, but resolved expression on his face.]
[Gif 6: Dokja is seen back at the wheatfields. He takes a deep breath before taking off in a sprint. Opening his mouth, he lets out a silent scream that goes unheard by the loud winds stifling his sorrows. ]

The singer says, “In order for me to create more stories, I need to open myself up more instead of hiding away from what I fear. This album makes me feel I’m living. I’m living and breathing, and that’s what this album is supposed to be for me. And maybe for some. Alright guys, call me delusional all you want but I don’t care. I’m sure by now if you have internet access that most of you have listened to Dokja’s new album. I feel I don’t need to say this because I feel every news outlet, including Dokja himself, has said that this album is the most vulnerable and honest he has ever been.
From here, it comes my point. I believe that this is Dokja’s way of coping from a recent secret relationship he had. I’m sure everyone in the fandom here knows that he has always been a private person, so for him to willingly bare himself to essentially the entire world to scrutinize and judge him takes a lot of guts and I have to commend him for that especially because he’s admitted himself that he’s afraid of vulnerability to others.
To continue, in 1:49 of his music video, I feel he is willingly admitting here that the relationship he was in was loving, but he felt he was holding them back because of his own insecurities. Dokja is essentially saying that he regrets not communicating more and allowing his feelings to fester up until things could no longer be fixed. He blames himself for being a burden to his partner and as seen in 2:00 with Dokja alone in the wheat fields, the lyrics give the sense that he accepts he will remain alone because of his problems… Continue Reading
Surrounded by darkness minus the dim lighting of his monitor screen, a male figure sitting in front of his desk watches Kim Dokja’s latest music video, enraptured by the song and video before him. The singer is seen to be in the middle of wheatfields, absent but sad smile in place as he looks back at the camera longingly. The figure pauses this part of the video for the umpteenth time, silently staring at the singer on his screen for a few minutes. The hand under his chin makes a move to reach out toward the screen, as if wanting to touch the singer in the video. He retracts his hand, instead grabbing the glass of water on his desk and quickly gulped down before harshly placing it down.
After a few moments, the hand on the mouse twitches, continuing the music video once again. The dark figure tenses when Dokja sings, “It’s time for you to move on from this story of us without me.” The man furrows his eyebrows, his lips downturning into a harsh frown.
“Stupid fool,” the figure mumbles angrily, gritting his teeth.
"You always made decisions for others based on your own assumptions, ” he continues in his head. The figure watches the video to its completion, sitting rigidly in pondering silence for a few minutes before hitting the replay button once again.
