Work Text:
“That’s it,” Donghyuck sighs, shutting the door to the pantry with a sigh. “We’re going to starve to death.”
He’s being dramatic, for sure. They don’t have anything of nutritional value in the whole apartment, unless Jeno’s eight ton container of protein powder counts, but they have enough ramen alone to get them through the week, if things get really desperate. That doesn’t mean Donghyuck isn’t a little hurt when Jeno gives his whining no attention, nose buried in his phone some ten feet away at the dining room table.
“Are you even listening to me?” Donghyuck asks, crossing his arms and putting on his annoyed face, though Jeno’s not even looking at him.
“Huh?” Jeno looks up from his phone, then, mouth open and eyes confused. His mouth dips to a grin when the question finally registers in his brain, smiling soft and docile and complacent, eyes crinkling into two twin crescent moons. “Of course I’m listening.”
“You’re such a faker,” Donghyuck says, glaring at him. “That’s the fakest smile I’ve ever seen in my life.”
“I was listening,” Jeno frowns, pouting as if he isn’t lying through his teeth.
“You were not. What are you even doing?”
Jeno goes to turn his phone off, but not before Donghyuck catches a glimpse of his screen — of pretty smiling faces, washboard abs, and a single hideous cock in the bottom left square. “You’re fucking unbelievable, you know that?” Donghyuck laughs, too exasperated to stay annoyed. “Grindr? Really, Jen. We’re in the middle of the blizzard of the fucking century, if you haven’t forgotten.”
“I know that,” Jeno mumbles, tossing his phone on the table and looking up at Donghyuck with big, round eyes like a kicked puppy.
“Don’t look at me like that,” Donghyuck says. “You had sex like three days ago, it’s not like you’re dying.”
“I’m horny,” Jeno whines, put out, like Donghyuck is the one being ridiculous. “I need—”
“You need to be sedated, is what you need,” Donghyuck says, all of the conviction in the world in his voice. “No. You need to be put down, actually.”
“I need to be fucked,” Jeno corrects him.
“You’re the horniest person in the entire universe,” Donghyuck says, amazed. “They need to study you in a lab.” Donghyuck admittedly isn’t much better, having slept with his fair share of random Grindr hookups, friends, TAs, and childhood nemeses alike the past few years. But he’s still not at Jeno’s level. Nobody is at Jeno’s level. Donghyuck pulls the sleeves of his sweater down over his fists and shivers, getting up and walking behind Jeno to check the thermostat.
“Well you’re the meanest,” Jeno says, petulant as he picks his phone back up off of the table, shooting Donghyuck a glare. “I’m calling Renjunnie.”
“Do not do that,” Donghyuck says, trying to wrestle the phone out of Jeno’s hand only to almost get his wrist snapped into a million shards by Jeno not realizing his own strength again. Renjun will take Jeno’s side just to spite Donghyuck, even though Donghyuck is right, and no one can tell him otherwise. Jeno is a slut. It doesn’t make Donghyuck mean to say that, it just makes him observant. “Jeno, do not call Renjun.”
“Too late,” Jeno says, smiling fondly at his phone screen, the volume turned up far too loud as a picture of Renjun from college covers his screen, hair dyed two different colors and ruffled up like someone mauled him in his sleep. He looked kind of like a kitten, if Donghyuck let himself think about it. Adorable, really, but Donghyuck would never admit that to him. Or Jeno, for that matter.
Donghyuck stares at the contact, Renjun’s name with a heart on either side, the only contact with emojis in Jeno’s phone.
If Jeno didn’t set Renjun up with Jaemin himself, Donghyuck would think he was in love with him. Renjun, that is. Donghyuck doesn’t know how anyone is in love with Jaemin. Last week he went on an only spinach diet for two days because TikTok said it would make his skin turn green, and then puked all over Donghyuck’s favorite pair of sneakers.
Surprising them both, Renjun doesn’t answer the call.
Jeno pouts about it for five minutes straight until Renjun texts him that he’s in a meeting and will call him afterwards, and Donghyuck practically watches Jeno’s tail start wagging again.
❄️
“Jeno,” Donghyuck says, as patiently as he can manage, after Jeno’s spent an hour playing Candy Crush in Donghyuck’s bed while Donghyuck takes inventory of all of the food in their apartment, too stressed to be let himself bask in the glory of not having to go in to work on a Monday morning. “Can we get back to the issue at hand?”
“What issue?” Jeno asks, face entirely blank, as if there isn’t a blizzard outside so massive that they haven’t been allowed to leave their apartment in two days due to how dangerous it is out there. “The no sex for the foreseeable future issue?”
Donghyuck can only stare at him, face entirely blank.
“You know… we could solve that pretty easily,” Jeno says, giving Donghyuck a slimy grin as he pats the bed next to him. Donghyuck’s bed. The bed which Jeno is currently laying in, propositioning him.
“You used to be so nice and innocent,” Donghyuck says, clicking his tongue and trying not to think about the fact that Jeno just insinuated he would have sex with him. “What happened?”
“I’m still nice,” Jeno pouts, thankfully not daring to claim he’s innocent. The worst part of it all is that he’s right. Jeno is probably the nicest one of them all. That doesn’t mean Donghyuck doesn’t want to throw something at him right now. A shoe, maybe. He looks up at Donghyuck, eyes wide, his grin sweet, but slightly tinged with something… more unhinged. “I could be nice for you, Hyuck-ah…”
“Oh my god, do I have to be worried you’re gonna start humping my leg like a dog?” Donghyuck asks, eyes wide. His heart is beating faster than normal, but he writes it off as a stress response. “You can’t be this horny, Jeno.”
“So you’re not going to fuck me?” Jeno says, frowning now. He looks genuinely disappointed. Donghyuck blinks at him, mouth open and eyebrows furrowed, and wishes he had laser vision to see into his brain.
“I’m flattered, sweetheart, but I’m not that easy,” Donghyuck says eventually, still unsure if Jeno is kidding or not. Jeno doesn’t really joke around about who he wants to have sex with that often, but Donghyuck has a hard time believing Jeno’s that desperate after just three days of celibacy.
“This blizzard fucking sucks,” Jeno grumbles, falling back onto the pillows with a huff, opening back up his game of candy crush.
“Jeno, I think you just need to jack off in the shower. Like, the sooner the better. You’re starting to scare me. You know you don’t actually want to have sex with me.”
“I don’t not want to have sex with you,” Jeno says, noncommittal.
It takes everything in Donghyuck not to blush at the sentence. “I know I’m irresistible, but I think you’ve really lost it, Jen.”
Jeno looks up from his phone. “I haven’t lost anything. Renjun told me I need to be more honest with myself,” he says, purposefully vague.
Donghyuck doesn’t know what Renjun told Jeno, but he knows that it wasn’t that he should have sex with Donghyuck. Renjun is a sane person, after all.
“I don’t think Renjun meant we should fuck,” Donghyuck snorts, trying to picture Renjun actually giving that advice. Renjun knows Donghyuck. He can’t have sex with Jeno, not after being friends for this long. It will get messy, and Donghyuck can’t do messy. Renjun knows this.
“Whatever, Hyuck,” Jeno sighs, smile falling off of his face. “I’m going to die a slow, horny death, and you’re going to have to live with knowing you could have saved me.”
“Oh no,” Donghyuck deadpans. “The guilt. How will I ever survive it.”
“By fucking me?” Jeno says, hopeful, bright, ridiculous.
“It’s not gonna happen, Jeno. Quit while you’re ahead. Ugh, I don’t even remember how this conversation started — wait. I came in to ask you to move your fucking laundry already.”
“But I’m cozy,” Jeno pouts, sliding further under his blanket. He shoots Donghyuck the eyes. “Five more minutes?”
Donghyuck rolls his eyes, walking out of the room with a shake of his head. Ten minutes later, he moves Jeno’s laundry for him, Jeno asleep in his bed, and gets started on dinner.
❄️
Donghyuck stands at the foot of his bed, torn.
On the one hand, if he doesn’t wake Jeno up now he’s never going to eat dinner and his circadian rhythm is going to be eight shades of fucked. On the other hand, Jeno looks so content — curled up into a ball in Donghyuck’s bed, hugging the cheetah plushie Mark bought him when he moved across the country to always remember him to his chest, mouth soft with sleep — that Donghyuck almost doesn’t want to disturb him.
Not having to deal with a cranky Jeno in the morning wins out in the end.
Donghyuck walks around to the side Jeno’s sleeping on — Donghyuck’s side of the bed, annoyingly — and holds out a hand, unsure whether to shake him or say something, and even more unsure why he’s nervous to wake Jeno up.
He goes for both, a hand on Jeno’s shoulder, shaking lightly, a soft “Jeno” repeated a few times, until he starts to stir, eyes fluttering open and adjusting to the now nearly dark room, the sun far past set.
Jeno turns his face further into the pillow with a whine, and Donghyuck fights back the urge to coo. He always looks cute, but Jeno ruffled with sleep is excruciating. “Look at you, sleepy baby.”
Jeno mutters something that sounds like an annoyed ‘what do you want?’ and his cheeks turn pink at the teasing and Donghyuck really does coo this time. “Aw, poor Jeno. I’m the big bad wolf here to ruin your nap time. I’m evil, I know.”
Jeno flips over this time, cracking open an eye to look at Donghyuck. “You’re being gross. What time is it?”
Donghyuck looks at his phone and grimaces. “Uh… almost nine. I should have woken you sooner, you just seemed like you needed the rest. Sorry.”
Jeno sits up at that, rubbing his hands over his eyes and blinking hard. “Oh my god, Hyuck… my laundry. I totally forgot, I’m sorry.”
Donghyuck laughs at that, reaching forward to ruffle Jeno’s hair, pushing his messy bangs out of his eyes. He’s not sure how to tell Jeno that he asked him to move his laundry over four hours ago. “I did it for you, it’s okay.”
“Hyuck,” Jeno whines, eyes still apologetic. “I feel really bad.”
“It’s just laundry, Jen,” Donghyuck laughs, poking Jeno’s side just to take the regret off of his face, sending him into a fit of giggles. “You owe me one. How about that?”
Jeno’s eyes brighten at that, mouth sliding into a grin. Donghyuck knows that grin. “You know… I could bl—”
“Nevermind,” Donghyuck says quickly, getting off of the edge of the bed and walking back to the kitchen, unsure why his face feels so hot. Jeno is kidding, even if he says he isn’t. He’s kidding. It shouldn’t be affecting Donghyuck this much.
❄️
Donghyuck wakes up hungry, freezing, and horny.
Determined to solve all three of his issues before the afternoon strikes — perhaps not in that exact order — he crawls out of bed, throws on his warmest sweater, and wanders out into the apartment, head on a swivel for a disheveled head of brown hair and a puppy-like demeanor.
A frown settles onto Donghyuck’s face when he finds the apartment empty. He peers his head into Jeno’s room through the open door, but doesn’t find him there either. It’s only when he hears the sound of running water that it finally clicks; Jeno is showering.
That fucker beat me to it, Donghyuck thinks, stretching his arms over his head and groaning. A hot shower would do him wonders, his muscles stiff and achy, chilled to the bone, desperate to rub one out under a hot stream of water and dissipate some of the tension rippling through him. For how much Donghyuck’s complained about needing a break from work, the blizzard’s done nothing but stress him out. He needs to unwind. Stat.
But first, breakfast.
Donghyuck is halfway through eating his precious last bit of leftover kimchi fried rice when he hears the click of a door open.
“Thought you drowned in there, dude. Did you leave any hot water for m—” The question dies on Donghyuck’s tongue, his throat drying out before he can finish his thought. “What the fuck?”
“What?” Jeno asks, like he isn’t walking around dripping water all over the floor, completely naked bar the ridiculously small towel wrapped around his hips. Donghyuck catches himself staring at Jeno’s abs, mouth watering and brain short circuiting before he tells himself to reel it in. Maybe the blizzard is starting to get to Donghyuck’s head, too, his lizard brain shining through at the lack of stimulation.
“Why the fuck are you naked?”
“I’m not naked,” Jeno scoffs, like Donghyuck accused him of something ridiculous. He grabs the knot of his towel, as if to prove his point. And then he grins, “Do you want me to get naked?”
“Oh my god. Are you actually trying to seduce me this early in the morning?”
Jeno’s head tilts to the side, his hand never leaving the knot at his waist. He smiles, close lipped and tentative. “Is it working?”
Yes.
“No,” Donghyuck says, swallowing. He picks up a big bite of kimchi, almost missing his mouth from how distracted he is. There’s so much skin showing, he doesn’t know where to look. He shoots for Jeno’s neck, but even that’s pretty — long and pale and muscular. Donghyuck ultimately decides looking away is the safest option. “I think you’re insane.”
“I thought you liked insane people,” Jeno says, something teasing and warm creeping into his voice.
Donghyuck definitely has a track record with insane people. He’s slept with more than he’d like to admit. He prefers Jeno with his head screwed on right, though. “I’m not sleeping with you, Jeno.”
“Not even if I ask nicely?”
“Not even if you get on your knees and beg,” Donghyuck retorts, giving Jeno a stern look so he knows that he means it.
Something lights up in Jeno’s eyes, dark and needy and brand new. For as much as they flirt with each other in everyday life, it’s never quite like this. “Are you sure? I look good on my knees, begging.”
Donghyuck can picture it. He can picture it well. Jeno’s not a liar. He would look good on his knees… begging… but, fuck. They shouldn’t. “Tempting. But no.”
Jeno doesn’t look like he likes that answer. He crosses the room in a few quick strides, rounding the table and plopping himself right down — in Donghyuck’s lap.
Very quickly, two things become obvious.
Jeno is soaking wet, and Donghyuck is soon going to be as well.
The only article of clothing separating Donghyuck’s cock and Jeno’s ass is Donghyuck’s sweatpants, Jeno’s towel loose around his waist and doing absolutely nothing to cover his naked body.
“What are you doing?” Donghyuck asks, the question coming out hoarse. He doesn’t know where to look, much less what to do with his hands, both of them held in the air like he’s feigning innocence to an accused crime.
Jeno’s hand drifts up to Donghyuck’s cheek, tucking a strand of unruly hair over his ear before curling around his chin. His voice is low, as close to a purr as a human could possibly get. “It would make me really, really happy if you fucked me, Donghyuckie.”
Donghyuck groans, head tilting back as his hands settle on Jeno’s waist, thumbs stroking over the warm, wet skin just above his towel. His resolve is quickly slipping, the more he lets his brain wander, the more soft skin he gets under his palms, but a little voice in the back of Donghyuck’s head is still reluctant. “This is a bad idea, Jen.”
“Why?” Jeno asks, insistent. He readjusts on Donghyuck’s lap, and the drag of his weight over Donghyuck’s crotch has him fighting a groan. The last thing Donghyuck needs right now is to get hard, making his entire argument null. “If you can tell me one good reason — a real reason — I’ll drop it.”
“I don’t have sex with people I’m friends with,” Donghyuck reminds him, squeezing down on Jeno’s sides. “It’s messy, and — and I don’t want a repeat of what happened with Mark.”
“You and Mark are fine.”
“We didn’t talk for two entire years,” Donghyuck scoffs. The memory turns sour on Donghyuck’s tongue, his stomach clenching in tight. Both of them regret the silence, a part of each of them missing in the other’s absence, but they needed it, even if they hated it. Donghyuck needed to get over Mark, and Mark needed to get over his guilt. They are fine now, but if Donghyuck could go back, he’d never do it again. “We were friends, and started fucking, and I fell for him, and he didn’t feel the same, and it ruined us. How did you forget that?”
“I didn’t forget,” Jeno says, eyes soft. He strokes the back of Donghyuck’s head in long, soothing motions, and it’s so tender that Donghyuck almost forgets the fact that Jeno is naked and sitting on his lap. Almost. “But I’m not Mark, Hyuck.”
“I know that.”
“Then we’ll be fine. Just don’t fall in love with me,” Jeno grins. At Donghyuck’s visible hesitancy, Jeno goes for a different angle. His eyes narrow again, his voice dripping in mockery. “Do you have feelings for me already, Hyuckie? Is that it? You have a big, ugly crush on me and are worried I’ll find out if we have sex?”
“You fucking wish, asshole,” Donghyuck snorts, pushing Jeno’s shoulders back. He would have toppled off of Donghyuck’s lap had his knees not squeezed into Donghyuck’s sides, his abs clenching in tight as he hauls himself back up, panting a little at the effort. His towel loosens further, barely hanging on.
“That was mean,” Jeno whines. “I could have gotten hurt.”
“It’s a two foot drop.”
“It would have bruised, though.”
“You would have survived, babe.”
“I’d rather you give me bruises in more fun ways,” Jeno says, his voice doing that thing again, the thing that melts Donghyuck’s insides and twists his brain into something compliant and hungry. “With your mouth,” Jeno muses, thumb swiping over Donghyuck’s bottom lip, slow and methodical. He drops his mouth to Donghyuck’s neck, pressing a kiss to his skin, so feather light that Donghyuck would miss it, were every cell inside of him not wired for Jeno’s attention. “Or with your cock, buried in my throat,” Jeno murmurs against his skin, another kiss, a real kiss, mouth molding to Donghyuck’s throat, Jeno holding the back of his neck with a firm grip. Jeno pulls back. “If you let me get on my knees for you, Hyuck—”
“Jesus, I get it,” Donghyuck grits out, drowning in images of Jeno on his knees, tears clinging to his lashes as Donghyuck fucks his throat. “I get the fucking picture, okay?”
“So?” Jeno asks, eyes wide, fingertips clutched to Donghyuck’s neck.
“You’re the worst ever, you know that?” Donghyuck groans, pushing Jeno off of him — gently, this time, before he throws another fit — before standing up and making his way to the kitchen. So much for his peaceful breakfast. He covers the bowl and stashes it in the fridge, half eaten and staring back up at him in disappointment. So what if he’s making a mistake? So what if he regrets this? Jeno is his best friend, yes. But Jeno is also ridiculously hot, and takes good care of his body, and fucks enough people to know what he’s doing. They’re stuck in their shoebox of an apartment for god knows how many days, and they’re running out of self control faster than things to do.
Donghyuck can’t think of enough reasons to say no.
“So that’s a no?” Jeno asks at his back, disappointment wavering in his tone.
Donghyuck grips the edge of the sink, asking himself if this is a mistake. His brain tells him yes, but his dick tells him no. It’s just sex. Donghyuck needs sex, Jeno’s offering sex, and Donghyuck wouldn’t mind fucking Jeno. It’s an easy question, when he really thinks about it. “Fuck.”
Donghyuck shakes his head, pushing off of the counter and turning out of the kitchen.
“Where are you going?” Jeno calls after him, frantic, confused.
“Your bed, are you coming?”
“Fuck, yeah,” Jeno laughs, somewhat delirious, but equally delighted. He pads after Donghyuck, feet soft against the carpeted floor. Something wet hits the ground, and a chill runs down the entire length of Donghyuck’s spine. Jeno’s towel. “You know, I fingered myself in the shower hoping this would happen.”
Donghyuck chokes on air. He turns back to Jeno to call him out for being presumptuous, but the retort dies on the tongue the second Donghyuck catches a glimpse of him. Jeno is naked. Very naked, the towel pooled on the floor at his feet. And hard, and touching himself, a light grip at the base of his cock, stroking up and up and — Donghyuck turns to fire on the spot, his abs clenching in tight as he doesn’t even try to hide the way he’s eye-fucking Jeno from across the room.
“What the fuck,” Donghyuck groans. Jeno is cut from pure marble, muscle stacked upon muscle, carefully chiseled into something to marvel at. Even his cock is pretty.
“We could have had sex yesterday, if you weren’t such a prude,” Jeno says, fondness erupting into the insult.
“Sorry, I’ll try to be more of a whore for you,” Donghyuck snaps back, dry and sarcastic, grasping at the last of his sanity — pure, overwhelming lust threatening to pull him under.
Except Jeno doesn’t laugh at the joke. His eyes wander down Donghyuck’s front, from his hair to his bare feet, and he undresses him with his eyes, gaze hungry, consuming. And then he smiles, positively feral. “I’d like that,” Jeno grins, crossing the room and flattening his palms on Donghyuck’s chest. At first, Jeno just feels, sliding the warmth of his hands across Donghyuck’s sweater, feeling the soft muscle beneath. “How about you start now?” Jeno whispers, backing Donghyuck through the open door to his bedroom, pushing until Donghyuck is falling back onto his mattress, legs spreading for Jeno to crawl between.
“You’re ridiculous,” Donghyuck mutters, breathing heavily as Jeno crawls on top of him, a knee settling on either side of Donghyuck’s hips, a hand sinking into the mattress right next to Donghyuck’s nape. Unable to help himself, Donghyuck slides his palms over Jeno’s thighs, marveling at the smooth glide, skin dimpling under his grip. There’s not a hair on him, Jeno’s entire body waxed, immaculate and pristine. Donghyuck’s teased him relentlessly about his dedication to waxing, but right now, nothing’s ever felt sexier.
“Still got you in my bed, didn’t I?” Jeno teases, smiling with his eyes as he leans over Donghyuck, his free hand reaching down to tug at Donghyuck’s neck.
“Shut up,” Donghyuck laughs, soft and breathy, looking up at Jeno through his lashes.
Jeno does, swallowing the laugh as he presses a kiss to Donghyuck’s mouth, just barely a brush of his lips before he’s pulling away. Donghyuck chases him with his mouth, gasping before tugging Jeno down with a hand tangled in his short hair, and then they’re kissing. Really kissing. Donghyuck is making out with Jeno, and yet it doesn’t feel weird. Fireworks don’t go off. Donghyuck doesn’t feel the end of the world coming. It’s just fucking hot.
It’s ridiculously hot, as Jeno whines into his mouth, hips rolling down onto Donghyuck’s. Even through Donghyuck’s sweats, the pressure is dizzying, flames of pleasure licking up Donghyuck’s spine at every tease of friction. Still, Donghyuck wants more. He wants skin on skin, Jeno on his tongue, in his hands, underneath him. Donghyuck needs more.
Flipping them over, Jeno lighter than air and more than happy to be tossed around, Donghyuck is asking himself why they didn’t do this sooner.
When Donghyuck pulls out the condoms and lube — finding them predictably in the same place as his own, bottom drawer of the bedside table — and finds that Jeno really did finger himself thoroughly in the shower, Donghyuck’s cursing himself for waiting this long to give in to Jeno’s propositioning. Jeno melts like ice cream in Donghyuck’s grip, sticky and sweet, spreading his knees wide and holding himself open, putty under Donghyuck’s touch as he strokes over Jeno’s prostate and makes him scream for him.
“Louder,” Donghyuck coaxes him, grinning as Jeno’s head tosses back in ecstasy, his thighs squeezing together as he grinds down against Donghyuck’s fingers.
“We’re—we’re gonna get kicked out of our—o-our apartment,” Jeno pants, sentence split into shards, cut by whines and grunts. He doesn’t quiet down though, his cock dribbling over his abs, flushed to the tip and so big Donghyuck almost wishes he was the one bottoming. Almost.
“It’s a nightmare out there, angel,” Donghyuck laughs. He’d like to see their building manager try to kick them out in the middle of the blizzard of the century. “We’re not going anywhere. Be as loud as you want.”
Donghyuck is delighted to find that Jeno has no problem being loud when he finally gets Donghyuck’s dick inside of him, letting out screams actually worthy of noise complaints, the sounds hardly muffled by the pillow Jeno’s face is pressed into. Donghyuck snaps his hips, jostling Jeno up the mattress with every stroke, headboard slamming into the wall, rhythmic and loud.
Jeno whines his name, over and over, “Please, Donghyuck, please, please, Hyuck. Oh my god. Fuck.”
Donghyuck’s fingers grip tight into Jeno’s hair, eyes glued to the way his dick disappears into the tight heat of Jeno’s hole, pink and bare, slick with lube. It doesn’t feel like he’s fucking Jeno, his best friend for nearly a decade. But it also doesn’t not feel like Jeno, his body familiar under Donghyuck’s touch, his voice distinct and recognizable even through a moan, Jeno’s habits and quirks second nature to Donghyuck, shining through even during sex.
Donghyuck spills into the condom right after Jeno makes a mess of the sheets, slightly put out that Jeno didn’t let him raw him. They’re best friends, after all. That feels like a privilege that should come with the friend-fucking. He tells Jeno as much.
Jeno complains that he doesn’t know where Donghyuck’s put his dick recently, and Donghyuck can’t really blame him. He doesn’t know the extent of Jeno’s sexual history either, and quite frankly, doesn’t want to. Maybe they’ll both get tested once the blizzard dies down, and Donghyuck can finally —
Donghyuck blinks the thought away, remembering there is no this after the blizzard. Fucking Jeno is circumstantial, the result of Jeno having no other options and being too horny for his own good. Fucking Jeno isn’t going to become a thing. Donghyuck can’t forget that.
“Thank you,” Jeno pants, distracting Donghyuck from his inner turmoil.
Donghyuck laughs. “Needed it that bad, huh?”
Jeno groans. “I was about to start, like, actually begging, Hyuck. It was gonna be pathetic.”
“It was already a little pathetic,” Donghyuck says, poking Jeno’s side.
“Hey!” Jeno shrieks, defensive and offended. He turns, rolling fully on top of Donghyuck, getting a groan out of him as he struggles to breathe. Jeno is light as air when he’s using his strength to help hold himself up. He’s a million pounds of dead weight, though. “You’re pathetic,” Jeno retorts, sounding just like he did in middle school.
“Get off me,” Donghyuck groans, laughing through the pain. He gets his hands out from under Jeno’s legs, and rolls Jeno half off of him, the most that his exhausted biceps can manage. “You’re too fucking heavy.”
“Asshole,” Jeno murmurs, though his mouth brushes against Donghyuck’s skin with the words, feather-light and gentle. Almost like a kiss.
“That’s me,” Donghyuck sighs, too tired to keep arguing. Donghyuck doesn’t really want to move, oddly enough. He’s never been someone who lingers after a hookup, always quick to get dressed and pack his things up and head out with a promise to “do this again” that he knows is empty. But this is Jeno. Donghyuck doesn’t have to run away. He can’t run away, not even if he wanted to. Donghyuck’s eyes slip shut for a second, Jeno’s weight and warmth lulling him. Donghyuck didn’t sleep well the night before, freezing and anxious. He could really use a nap.
But then Jeno shifts, and Donghyuck’s hand brushes his own stomach, and he gags. As much as Donghyuck thinks Jeno would think absolutely nothing if he fell asleep in his bed, there’s still something putting him off about the come dried into his skin.
“Okay, I’m fucking nasty, I can’t. I’m showering,” Donghyuck announces, rolling out of Jeno’s grip, prying his fingers out of Jeno’s hand, something stupidly fond in his chest at Jeno’s small pout at his hand being let go of.
“You’re not gonna stay and cuddle?” Jeno frowns, sitting up, the sheets pooling around his thin hips. “It’s not even eleven yet.”
Donghyuck laughs, waving down his body. “I need to wash your fucking nut off of my stomach, Jeno. Cuddle one of your ten thousand plushies.”
“I only have three!”
“Whatever helps you sleep at night,” Donghyuck sings, grinning as he shuts Jeno’s door behind him at the pout on Jeno’s face, completely out of place against his just-got-railed hair, and body glistening with sweat and lube.
❄️
Donghyuck’s phone buzzes against the kitchen island at the same time the timer goes off on the microwave. Donghyuck goes for the microwave first. Bowl of (twice now) reheated leftovers in hand, he sees who’s calling and swipes accept on the facetime before sitting down.
“Who is it?” Jeno asks, looking up from the sofa. He’s already bored again, playing absentmindedly with the squeaky dog toy that Chenle left when he visited them with Daegal last month. Donghyuck ignores him. Jeno will figure out who it is the second Renjun opens his mouth.
“What?” Donghyuck says in lieu of greeting, propping Renjun up against the empty vase in the middle of the table that hadn’t had flowers in it since the original ones Taeyong sent them as a housewarming gift a year and a half ago.
Renjun doesn’t answer, just narrows his eyes. Uh oh.
“You fucked Jeno, didn’t you?” Renjun asks immediately. Jeno’s head perks back up, a grin on his face now. “Oh my god you did, what the fuck.”
Donghyuck hears a shriek of maddened laughter in the back of Renjun’s room, and just three seconds later a face is hanging over the top of the screen, blue hair tickling the lens, covering Renjun’s picture in a pastel haze. “Junnie owes me ten dollars now, haha. I knew you had it in you.”
“You’re welcome, baby,” Donghyuck grins, winking at Jaemin who, content with himself, leaves the frame to go back to playing with Legos, or whatever he was doing that was making that awful sound in the back of the call. It doesn’t surprise Donghyuck that Renjun and Jaemin had a bet on when they would fuck. What does surprise him is the serious look on Renjun’s face.
“Did you actually fuck?” Renjun asks. Donghyuck knows that Renjun is asking him, but Jeno rounds the table, staring down onto the screen as he hangs himself over Donghyuck’s shoulders. Renjun’s eyes slip close, and he sighs. “Nevermind. Of course you did.”
“Sorry,” Jeno grins, sounding not very sorry at all, actually. The opposite, really. Jeno swipes Donghyuck’s phone off of the table and holds it up to his mouth. “Donghyuckie’s actually pretty good in bed.”
“Oh, fuck you, Jeno. Things-I-didn’t-need-to-know list. First item: that.”
“What, we have to hear about you and Jaemin’s sex life, but you don’t want to hear about ours?” Jeno asks, raising his eyebrows, taking the sassiest tone that Donghyuck’s ever heard on him.
Renjun is rendered speechless. “Give Donghyuck back the phone.” Jeno pouts, but complies. Good boy. “What the fuck did you do to Jeno?”
Donghyuck grins around his spoon. “I fucked him.”
“Yeah, I got that part. What happened to him, though? Where is the sweet, adorable, darling Jeno that I know and love?”
“He’s gone,” Donghyuck whispers, wagging his eyebrows dramatically. “The blizzard ate him.”
“God, I hate you,” Renjun says, deadpan.
“You called me,” Donghyuck retorts.
“I was going to ask if you were still planning on coming up next month.”
Donghyuck snorts. “Please. That’s a lame excuse, you already know I booked my flight. You can just say you wanted my attention, baby. I’m sure Jaemin wouldn’t mind.”
Renjun’s face contorts at Donghyuck’s lax use of the word baby, his favorite pet name — from Jaemin, at least. Definitely not from Donghyuck. In fact, Renjun hangs up on him before Donghyuck can get another word in.
Donghyuck finishes his breakfast turned lunch in satisfied silence, and Jeno eventually wanders back to the couch. Once the tupperware is washed and in the drying rack, Donghyuck turns to Jeno.
“Well what do we do now?” Donghyuck asks, mostly to the air.
Jeno looks up at him, eyes bright and mouth open, words on the tip of his tongue.
“We’re not having sex again,” Donghyuck says before Jeno can ask, his words immediately shutting down the excitement on Jeno’s face.
“Hey! I was going to say we should bake those cookies in the freezer,” Jeno mutters, ears hot. “I’m not that horny.”
“Oh, is that so?” Donghyuck asks, eyebrows raised.
“Okay, I wouldn’t say no if you wanted to have sex again,” Jeno admits, sheepish. Donghyuck smiles at him, endeared. “But I really do want to make the cookies.”
Donghyuck takes a deep breath, like he has to think about it.
“We don’t have to,” Jeno says, at Donghyuck’s hesitation. “It was just an idea.”
Donghyuck smiles. Jeno really is too nice to him. “Preheat to 375.”
Jeno jolts up, running to the oven to preheat it. He even shouts a thank you in Donghyuck’s direction, eyes crinkled in joy.
“Cute,” Donghyuck mutters under his breath, without even realizing he’s spoken out loud. Thankfully, Jeno doesn’t seem to notice, nose in the freezer, recounting all of the frozen items that Donghyuck had already taken stock of the day prior with enthusiasm and surprise.
❄️
Donghyuck wakes up to the sound of his door slamming open, and seconds later is met, half-conscious and extremely disoriented, with Jeno straddling his hips.
“What?” Donghyuck asks, eyes struggling to focus on his room, slightly out of breath from Jeno’s sudden weight on him, and entirely lost in what’s happening. “What time is it, Jeno?”
“Almost noon,” Jeno groans, shoulders sagging as he sinks his knees into the mattress, relaxing onto Donghyuck’s lap. Donghyuck’s eyes finally adjust to the light, and he immediately notices Jeno’s gaze, locked on his mouth. Donghyuck wets his lips, and swears Jeno’s eyes darken at the movement. “I’ve been waiting for you to get up for hours.”
“What?” Donghyuck asks, confused. Jeno has never once woken him up, knowing damn well how late Donghyuck stays up gaming, even when he shouldn’t. There are few things Donghyuck values in life as much as his sleep. Jeno knows this. “Why?”
“Can I suck you off?” Jeno asks suddenly, fingertips already sneaking under Donghyuck’s t-shirt to splay across his ribs, his palms warm.
“What?” Donghyuck repeats, for the third time. Did he hear Jeno correctly?
“You’re already hard,” Jeno notes with a whine, like that’s not obvious, Donghyuck’s morning wood digging into the firm muscle of Jeno’s ass. Just to emphasize his point, Jeno rolls his hips over Donghyuck’s length, drawing a startled gasp out of him at the sudden friction. “Please?”
Who is Donghyuck to say no to that? He thought people only got woken up to a blow job in porn. “Only fucked you once and got you begging for my cock already, huh?”
“If that’s what it takes,” Jeno says with a shrug, eyes dark with lust.
Fuck. Donghyuck reminds himself to come back to that sentence. Oh how sweet Jeno would sound, begging Donghyuck to let him come, cheeks pink and tears clinging to his lashes. Donghyuck will have to ask Jeno how he feels about edging soon. Maybe over breakfast. But first — “How are you gonna suck my dick if you’re sitting on it?” Donghyuck asks, sentence fractured into two by a drawn out yawn. Jeno doesn’t seem to mind, eyes lighting up at the permission. He jumps to action, crawling down Donghyuck’s body in a way more graceful than Donghyuck could have managed, pulling off his boxers in seconds.
Donghyuck’s cock springs up once freed from his boxers, and his eyes slip back shut when Jeno wraps his warm palm around the base of it, a pleased hum dropping from his lips when Jeno licks a broad stripe up his shaft. Jeno continues like that until Donghyuck is fully hard in his grip, slow, teasing licks that do little for Donghyuck in terms of coming, but everything in terms of riling him up.
“My dick isn’t a lollipop, Jeno,” Donghyuck grits out, already on edge from the teasing. He rolls his hips up, fucking up into Jeno’s fist, desperate for more. “Stop teasing me and put it in your mouth already.”
It takes Jeno approximately two seconds to take Donghyuck all the way until his nose is buried in Donghyuck’s trimmed pubes, eyes slipping shut as his eyebrows draw in, bobbing his head so slowly that Donghyuck actually goes dizzy at the feeling. He doesn’t even gag when Donghyuck flinches and fucks into Jeno’s mouth hard enough to hit the back of his throat.
“Shit,” Donghyuck pants, gasping when Jeno repeats the motion, down, down, down, until Donghyuck is buried inside of his mouth, excruciatingly slow, then suddenly fast as Jeno bobs his head back up. Jeno pulls back until only Donghyuck’s tip is in his mouth, rolling his tongue around the sensitive head with ease that only comes with practice. By the time Jeno’s moving again, now with a twist of his hand up Donghyuck’s shaft to meet his mouth, there are goosebumps rising on Donghyuck’s skin.
Donghyuck shouldn’t be surprised. It’s not like he didn’t know Jeno was good at taking dick already. He’d seen it last night, and heard enough gruesomely detailed recounts of Jeno’s hookups to know he liked sucking cock. Donghyuck just didn’t know that Jeno liked it this much, moaning around Donghyuck’s shaft when his tip tickles the back of his throat like he tasted like heaven.
“Fuck,” Donghyuck whines, slightly embarrassed by how close he already is. Normally it takes him ages to come from head. Right now, he thinks Jeno might get him off before it’s even been five minutes.
Reaching down to grab a fistful of Jeno’s silky hair, Donghyuck pulls him all the way off of his cock, just to give himself a second to breathe. At the sight of Jeno, though — mouth red and swollen, slick with Donghyuck’s mess, eyes wet — Donghyuck almost lets go right then and there.
“Why?” Jeno asks, actually whining at Donghyuck’s dick being taken out of his mouth. Donghyuck knew Jeno had an oral fixation, hell, everyone knew that Jeno had an oral fixation, either chewing on the back of his pen or his fingers whenever he got the chance, but he didn’t know it extended to well… cock.
“I was about to come,” Donghyuck pants, embarrassed to have to admit that out loud. He’s sure Jeno knew that already though, Donghyuck got especially loud right before an orgasm hit, and he hadn’t exactly been quiet with his dick in Jeno’s mouth.
Jeno glares at him, a challenge in the set of his brows. “Then come,” Jeno said, sucking Donghyuck’s tip back into his mouth, eyes alight with flame.
Donghyuck isn’t sure if Jeno was actually annoyed with him, or if he was just proving a point, but he got Donghyuck back to the brink of insanity within a minute, Donghyuck’s cock twitching in his mouth when Jeno drags the point of his tongue across his slit before sucking him back down again.
“Gonna—” Donghyuck grits out, fingers tightening as the warning falls off of his tongue, unable to stop himself from shooting down Jeno’s throat, coming so much that some of it pools at the corners of Jeno’s mouth before he reluctantly pulls off, Donghyuck finishing across his closed lips. Donghyuck lets out an embarrassing whine that he hopes Jeno doesn’t ever mention out loud when Jeno licks the last of his come off of his cock in an obscene move.
“Where the fuck did you learn to suck cock like that?” Donghyuck asks at his ceiling fan, too exhausted to push up onto his elbows and ask the question to Jeno’s face. Donghyuck prides himself at being good at sucking cock, too, but not like that. Donghyuck doesn’t know how he’s ever going to get a blow job from someone else after experiencing the pleasure that is Jeno’s mouth.
Jeno snorts, crawling back up Donghyuck’s body to straddle his thighs. Donghyuck is quickly picking up on the fact that Jeno really likes to sit in his lap. “Lots of practice,” Jeno shrugs. “And a few good teachers.”
“Lucky guys,” Donghyuck sighs wistfully.
“None of them sound as pretty as you when they come, though,” Jeno says with a smile. Somehow, Donghyuck’s cheeks heat at the comment, embarrassment slicing through the pleasant haze of his orgasm.
“Shut up,” Donghyuck grumbles. He goes to make fun of Jeno for how he sounds when he comes, before realizing that he didn’t come at all. Donghyuck is the worst fuck buddy ever. “Gonna let me return the favor?” Donghyuck asks, looking up at Jeno through his eyelashes. He’s not nearly as talented with his tongue as Jeno, and still groggy from sleep, but he’s not the type of guy to leave his partner horny and unsatisfied.
“No need,” Jeno says, looking away from Donghyuck’s eyes suspiciously. “I uh — I already did.”
It takes a few ridiculously slow moments for the sentence to click in Donghyuck’s sluggish mind. When it clicks, Donghyuck’s eyes fly open with shock.
“You got off just from sucking my dick?” Donghyuck asks, poorly concealing his surprise.
“You have a nice dick,” Jeno shrugs, like that explains it. “It’s pretty. And thick.”
“I didn’t even touch you.”
“You can touch me later,” Jeno says, dodging it again. Donghyuck doesn’t know how he didn’t notice Jeno rutting against the mattress as he sucked him off, but supposes he was otherwise distracted.
“You’re unreal,” Donghyuck groans.
Jeno grins at the praise, and it would be adorable — his hair unbrushed and eyes soft and warm — if he didn’t have Donghyuck’s come on his upper lip like a fucking milk mustache.
Instead of wiping it away with his hand like a normal person, Donghyuck sits up, reaching for Jeno’s chin and pulling him close, dragging Jeno’s mouth against his own in a lazy kiss, licking the remnants of his own come off of Jeno’s mouth until his skin is wet with saliva, and mostly clean.
Donghyuck’s come doesn’t taste particularly good, but the way Jeno responds to the kiss makes it worth it, moaning softly around Donghyuck’s tongue as his body sags into him, eager and pliant.
“Better,” Donghyuck murmurs, pressing one last indulgent kiss to Jeno’s mouth before sinking back into his bed, head hitting his pillow.
“Wanna shower with me?” Jeno asks, smiling down at him.
“No, you insatiable shit,” Donghyuck laughs. “You’re just going to jump my bones again, aren’t you?”
“I’ll keep my hands to myself,” Jeno promises. He holds his hand up in some sort of botched salute, and says in his most serious voice: “Scout’s honor.”
“I highly doubt that,” Donghyuck says, tilting his head to the side to stare at Jeno appreciatively — eyes tracing the pout of his pretty mouth, the elegant slope of his nose, the mole by his eye. “And you’re not a fucking boy scout.”
“You don’t know that.”
“I do, actually,” Donghyuck says, something gross and fond in his heart as he watches Jeno pout. “You’re a horrible liar.”
“Whatever, you’re no fun,” Jeno grumbles, rolling out of bed. He walks towards Donghyuck’s door with a waddle in his step that can only be a product of coming inside of his boxers. “Join me or don’t, but you’re coming with me afterwards.”
“And where exactly are we going?” Donghyuck asks, eyebrows in his hairline. Last time he checked, the outside door to their building wouldn’t even open, the snow barrier outside so tall that the door couldn’t push through it. He doubts that it melted enough overnight that they can run errands.
“Out,” Jeno grins, disappearing behind the door.
❄️
By out, Jeno really meant that they were going to layer up in all of their warmest gear after breakfast, shimmy down the fire escape, fall off of the fire escape, and barely make it in one piece to the small courtyard of their building. All just to play in the snow like children with a day off from school.
“We’re never making it back up there, are we?” Donghyuck comments miserably, staring back up at the ladder he’s nearly positive that Jeno broke on his way down.
“We’ll figure it out,” Jeno assures him. He makes a run for a snow bank, moving remarkably fast for how many layers he has on, and cannonballs into it. Donghyuck feels six years old, but finds himself giggling when Jeno pops his head out of the snow and shakes like a dog nonetheless, snow flying out of his hair and into a million different directions.
“You’re ridiculous,” Donghyuck chides, Jeno now back up on his feet and running circles around him. Donghyuck knew Jeno was bored with being stuck in their apartment, but he hadn’t realized how restless he was, boundless energy stuck in a shoebox apartment. It was really no wonder that Jeno had so much energy for sex, he’d apparently been bottling it up since the storm started days ago.
Content to let Jeno expend his energy by himself while Donghyuck relaxes, Donghyuck sets to making himself a chair of sorts, convinced it can’t be that different than molding sand into a seat at the beach.
It collapses under him twice, but after packing it down a third time, the snow solid like ice underneath him, it holds his weight well enough. Donghyuck is daydreaming about making spiked hot chocolate when they get back inside when the sound of Jeno slamming his body into the ground draws his attention away.
“Come play with me,” Jeno whines, making a snow angel where the snow is shallow enough that he won’t sink into it, pouting at Donghyuck.
“I’m busy,” Donghyuck says, crossing his arms over his chest and relaxing back into his hard-earned throne. His eyes slip shut, the only sounds around them the whirring of the wind and Jeno’s feet crunching into fresh snow with every stomp. It’s peaceful, really. Donghyuck doesn’t remember the last time he really let himself just exist in a snow-storm, normally much happier beating Jeno at card games inside than freezing outside.
Something slams into the side of Donghyuck’s head, hard and wet and ice cold, and that blissful moment of peace shatters into a million shards. Dongnhyuck’s eyes fly open, heart racing and ire heavy in his gaze, to find Jeno winding back to throw another snowball at him, grinning over his scarf.
“Throw that and see what happens,” Donghyuck warns, pointing an angry finger in Jeno’s direction. “I fucking dare you.”
And oh, Jeno dares. The snowball launches harder into Donghyuck’s face than anything ever has before, exploding into white powder as it splits over his nose, eyes immediately watering. “What the fuck, Jen,” Donghyuck coughs, wiping snow out of his eyes and pretending to choke out a sob. Donghyuck has been able to cry on demand since he was eight years old and guilting his parents into buying him icecream was his favorite pastime, so the tears come quickly thereafter. He reaches down to grab a fistful of snow as subtly as possible, and predictably, Jeno comes rushing towards him, apology after apology spewing out of his pretty mouth.
“Oh my god, Hyuck, I’m so sorry,” Jeno says, fingers sliding under his chin, trying desperately to get Donghyuck to look at him. “Are you okay? Where does it hurt? Baby, look at me.”
Donghyuck looks at him through tear stained eyes and finds nothing but remorse in Jeno’s warm brown gaze. Guilt clings to Donghyuck's stomach for pretending, but he’s not going to stop Jeno from apologizing. The snowball still fucking hurt, okay? Jeno leans down, pressing a soft kiss to Donghyuck’s nose, right where the snowball hit. Donghyuck goes still, heart lodged in his throat at how gentle Jeno is being. Jeno drags his mouth sideways to Donghyuck’s cheek, kissing the tears away before moving to his other cheek.
“It’ll stop hurting soon, I promise,” Jeno soothes him, sticking a finger into his mouth to pull his right hand free from his glove, stroking his ice cold fingers through Donghyuck’s hair. He moves his hand, stroking his thumb over Donghyuck’s nose. It does hurt, just slightly, but Donghyuck definitely plays up his flinch. Maybe he has a flair for dramatics, and maybe he also holds a grudge like nobody else. Jeno being sweet isn’t going to fix either of those things. “How’s it feeling, Hyuck-ah?”
“Hurts.”
“I really am sorry,” Jeno says, chewing on his bottom lip. “I wouldn’t — I didn’t mean to actually hurt you.”
Jeno is so sincere that Donghyuck almost feels bad about what he’s about to do. Almost.
As Jeno’s paying little attention to anything but Donghyuck’s face, Donghyuck wraps his fist into the front of Jeno’s jacket, tugging it open, and empties the handful of snow he picked up ages ago into Jeno’s shirt.
Jeno flies off of him with a shriek, betrayal in his eyes when he looks back to find Donghyuck smiling at him, pleased and vindictive.
“What the fuck, Donghyuck?” Jeno asks, turning towards him with wide eyes as he shakes the snow out of his shirt. “Don’t tell me — are you even hurt?”
Donghyuck smiles as innocently as he can manage, picking himself up off of the ground with a groan. “A lady never tells.”
“That makes no sense,” Jeno huffs, beautiful even when annoyed, his cheeks flushed and hair ruffled. “I — I felt really bad, Hyuck.”
“You should, it hurt like a bitch.”
Jeno snorts at that, crossing his arms over his chest. Donghyuck flicks his gaze over Jeno’s broad shoulders and tries not to undress him too obviously with his eyes. “I hate you.”
Donghyuck gasps, reaching down and forming another snowball, delighted at how Jeno reacts, immediately stumbling further away as he tries to shove his glove back over numb fingers. “Take it back.”
“No!” Jeno shrieks, picking up his own clump of snow, but not before Donghyuck’s snowball slams into his ass. Laughter peels out of Jeno, and he blindly throws snow over his shoulder, missing Donghyuck by just a few inches.
Donghyuck moves before fully contemplating his actions, jumping onto Jeno’s back. Jeno could carry him easily, but with his back turned, and focus elsewhere, the sudden movement takes them both to the ground, twin groans flying from their lips as they crumble to a pile of stuffed fabric and tangled limbs.
“Ow,” Jeno groans, body twitching as he tries to throw Donghyuck off of him. Donghyuck doesn’t move, just laughs in his ear at his squirming, dragging his teeth over the shell just to watch him thrash. Pleased by his reaction, Donghyuck sags onto his back, leaving Jeno to struggle against his dead weight. Jeno fights until he’s finally sitting on top of Donghyuck’s chest, pinning him into the snow covered ground, panting heavily and flushed with exertion.
He looks achingly beautiful, and Donghyuck can’t help but wonder why he never paid much attention to Jeno’s beauty before. He’s always known Jeno was an attractive guy — it’s obvious just from looking at him, and he pulls more than anyone else Donghyuck knows. But before, well… before Jeno asked Donghyuck to fuck him, he’d never paid that much attention to how pretty Jeno is.
Now, it’s all Donghyuck can think about.
Donghyuck pushes up onto his elbows, cheeks pink and freezing as he tilts his head up to meet Jeno’s gaze, snow falling into his eyes. “Kiss me?” Donghyuck asks, unsure why the question makes his heart race. It’s just Jeno, Donghyuck reminds himself. The kissing is a temporary fixation, the sex just something to keep the edge off. Jeno is acting out of necessity. Donghyuck, however… Donghyuck is acting purely out of indulgence.
Jeno presses a gloved hand next to Donghyuck’s face, the other tilting his chin up as he dives down to kiss him. Jeno’s lips are cold as ice, chapped against Donghyuck’s mouth. His tongue is warm though, sliding past Donghyuck’s lips and drawing a reedy sigh out of him.
“You are such a good kisser,” Jeno breaks off to say, grinning against Donghyuck’s mouth. He presses another indulgent kiss to Donghyuck’s lips before pulling back again. “Well, not as good as Mark, but—”
Donghyuck pushes Jeno off of him before he can finish the sentence, grabbing a hard chunk of snow that might actually mostly be ice and straddling Jeno’s hips, pressing it to Jeno’s neck, just under his coat. “Fucking brat,” Donghyuck throws at him, cheeks twitching into a fond grin even though he knows that Jeno said it just to annoy him.
Donghyuck expects another shriek of surprise at the touch of snow to his bare skin, but instead Jeno just whines Donghyuck’s name, squirming under his weight, unable to escape with his arms trapped next to his body. Donghyuck leans towards the sound, greedy and curious, and drags the ice further under Jeno’s coat, watching his eyes squeeze shut, shoulders hiking towards his ears.
Even from this close, Jeno’s whine is quiet, a sharp inhale and a breathy “fuck.” The curse rolls down Donghyuck’s spine like a chill, an echo of how Jeno sounded the night before, about to come on Donghyuck’s dick.
“Sensitive, huh?” Donghyuck asks, breathless. Distracted, he drops the ice from his hand, replacing it with his mouth on Jeno’s neck, sucking a bruise to his pulse point.
“‘S cold,” Jeno hisses, hips rolling up against Donghyuck’s body as his spine arches. Jeno reacts just how Donghyuck wanted him to, ideas already forming in Donghyuck’s caveman brain about how he can bring that reaction into the bedroom. Finally freeing his arms from Donghyuck’s trap, Jeno’s gloved hands paw desperately at Donghyuck’s shoulders, pushing his mouth away from his skin. “Hyuck, please,” Jeno whispers, staring up at him.
Donghyuck’s gaze flips between Jeno’s blown pupils, and his red mouth, Jeno so obviously affected because of him. Donghyuck wants more, wants everything Jeno is willing to give, wants more of his little gasps of pleasure, more of his gorgeous body. Swallowing his lust, Donghyuck crawls off of him, turning in the direction they came from.
“Where are you going?” Jeno calls after him, pushing up on tired, bruised limbs to run after him. “Hyuck!”
“Help me get back up here,” Donghyuck demands, gesturing towards the ladder frantically, practically buzzing out of his skin with need, his cock pressing up uncomfortably against the zipper of his snow pants.
“Is everything okay?” Jeno asks, concern in his gaze.
“No, Jeno, it’s not,” Donghyuck comments, sassier than Jeno probably deserves. Donghyuck turns, buzzing with need, and presses Jeno hard against the brick exterior of their building, shoving his knee between Jeno’s thighs as his mouth fits against Jeno’s. The kiss is hard and sloppy, Donghyuck’s tongue immediately licking behind Jeno’s teeth, and the whine that Jeno lets out as he ruts down against Donghyuck’s thigh is entirely obscene. They make out like that, exposed and desperate, for longer than Donghyuck ever intended. It’s simply hard to stop, when Jeno reacts like that to being kissed, putty in Donghyuck’s hands, syrup on his tongue. Donghyuck doesn’t know how he’s ever going to stop kissing Jeno now that he’s started, but that’s a question for when the blizzard dies down, really, not now — not when he has Jeno hard and needy and all to himself.
“Shit,” Donghyuck curses, pushing off of Jeno before he does something he’ll later regret. He turns back to Jeno, panting, desperation hanging in the air between them like a cloud. Jeno stares back, eyes nearly black with desire. “Help me with the ladder, or so help me god, I’m fucking you in this courtyard,” Donghyuck promises.
Jeno has never moved faster in the entirety of their friendship. He has the ladder fixed and is helping Donghyuck up it within the minute, and has crawled up the fire escape to the window they jumped out of before Donghyuck has even started on the stairs.
Donghyuck all but drags Jeno to his bedroom to fuck him, hands tangled together the whole way. Jeno takes too long getting undressed, so Donghyuck starts doing it for him, pushing him around until he’s naked and wanton on Donghyuck’s sheets, flushed and half-hard without Donghyuck even really touching him. He looks like a wet dream spread out like that for him, so Donghyuck tells him as much.
“Come here already,” Jeno beckons, looking up at him with hungry eyes. Donghyuck thinks Jeno’s knees spread slightly further apart with the sentence, but he might just be imagining things, delusional with lust.
The offer is tempting, but Donghyuck has to grab something first, before the opportunity is gone and the idea’s long forgotten.
“Fuck. Wait here,” Donghyuck tells him, running to the kitchen.
Jeno calls his name after him, yells it really, frustration dripping off of his deep tone.
When Donghyuck returns with a cup in his hand and a wild look in his eyes, Jeno couldn’t look more confused. Donghyuck grabs ahold of one of Jeno’s ankles, dragging him closer to the end of the bed before dropping to his knees before him.
“What are you doing?” Jeno asks, staring at Donghyuck through the frame of his thighs, smooth and cold and pale as the view out of the window. His eyes are wide with curiosity, chest rising and falling dramatically as his heart races in his chest.
“Close your eyes,” is all Donghyuck says.
Jeno looks at Donghyuck for one long distrusting second before sighing, eyes fluttering closed.
“Good boy,” Donghyuck says with a smirk, popping an ice cube into his mouth before closing his lips around the tip of Jeno’s cock.
❄️
“Go fish.”
Jeno adds another card to his hand, struggling to hold them all at once. He has to have at least fifteen cards in his hand, with only one matched pair in front of him. It’s depressingly pitiful — or it would be, if Donghyuck wasn’t so pleased by winning.
“Hmm. Do you have a five?” Donghyuck asks, looking at the two cards left in his right hand with a smirk.
“Yes!” Jeno says, handing it over easily. Despite his impending (and fifth sequential) Go Fish loss, Jeno is positively glowing, smiling over the brim of his cards, all of the stars in the world in his eyes. Donghyuck supposes that having three orgasms before noon just does that to a person. Or maybe it’s just the fact that Jeno is sunshine incarnate, bright enough to better even Donghyuck’s cloudiest of days. Either way, Donghyuck is slaughtering him in every card game they play, and Jeno looks just ecstatic to be there.
“Uno,” Donghyuck murmurs, drawing a snort of laughter out of Jeno. “Your turn.”
Jeno asks if Donghyuck has any aces despite all of the aces in the deck being laid out in front of him, and Donghyuck somewhat shamefully takes one of Jeno’s many eights to win the game.
“You’re so good at this,” Jeno comments for the nth time that afternoon, putting the box of cards back into the left side of the TV stand, shaking his head in wonder.
Donghyuck snorts, falling back onto the sofa and picking up his phone to scroll through TikTok. “Wow. You like me sooo much,” Donghyuck teases, looking up from a video of a man dressed in all black squatting on a street corner to take pictures of the cutest dog he’s ever seen in his life, to find Jeno staring at him with wide eyes, shock on his face. He looks away, but not before Donghyuck notices the blush on his skin. Donghyuck’s eyebrows draw in. Weird.
“Shut up,” Jeno mumbles under his breath, not helping his case at all. Donghyuck clicks his phone off, and just stares at Jeno, wondering all of the sudden if he said something weird. Donghyuck was only kidding that Jeno liked him. He can’t imagine Jeno would be upset about that, given that they obviously don’t have feelings for each other. Well. Unless… “I’m bored,” Jeno whines all of the sudden, drawing Donghyuck out of his head and back to the boy pouting up at him from the carpet.
He’s wearing one of Donghyuck’s sweaters, the oversized kind that hangs off of your shoulders and puts far too much collarbone on display to be considered decent. Jeno drew the sleeves over his hands for maximum effect, too, absolutely drowning in the material. Donghyuck can think of a few things he’d like to do to Jeno in that outfit, but swallows all of them like bullets. Jeno would definitely let him do anything he wanted, but Donghyuck’s dick is going to fall off if they keep having sex like this. Besides, their condom supply is running low, and if they don’t start being smart now, celibacy is going to have to re-enter the chat. Somehow, the thought is disappointing to Donghyuck in more ways than one.
“I don’t know what to say, babe,” Donghyuck sighs. Jeno’s eyes soften at the pet name and Donghyuck tells his heart to shut up. “I was planning on losing hours of my life to TikTok this afternoon.”
Jeno pouts. “You know I deleted TikTok, Hyuck.”
“Sounds like a you problem.”
Jeno gets up, walking towards him. “Don’t be like that. Just … share.”
Share? Before Donghyuck knows it, Jeno is pushing Donghyuck’s hips further into the sofa, rearranging him until there’s enough room to crawl beside him.
“What are you doing?” Donghyuck asks with a laugh, holding his arms up as Jeno settles into his side, thrashing a bit as he gets comfortable, head on Donghyuck’s chest, legs tangled together, an arm slung low on Donghyuck’s belly.
“Watching TikTok,” Jeno says with a yawn. Something inside of Donghyuck tells him that Jeno is going to end up asleep on top of him. It wouldn’t be the first time that Jeno’s fallen asleep watching something with Donghyuck, but it would certainly be the first time Jeno’s done so on top of him.
It feels… well... It feels like something Donghyuck would do with a boyfriend, not Jeno.
But then, when Donghyuck thinks harder, it’s not weird to him that Jeno’s laying on top of him, content and cozying up in Donghyuck’s personal space, in the same way that it really wasn’t that weird to rationalize having sex with him. It’s not weird when they grocery shop together, or cook together, or go out to celebrate milestones at work, or when Jeno crawls into his bed in the morning to cuddle before starting his day. It would be weirder, really, if Jeno stopped doing those things.
It’s the first time that Donghyuck has considered it — what it would be like to date Jeno. The scarier realization is that he kind of already is.
“Are we gonna watch, or not?” Jeno mumbles, words spoken directly into Donghyuck’s chest, muffled from the wool.
“Oh, sorry, zoned out,” Donghyuck is quick to say, catching a glimpse of his reaction in the reflection of his phone screen before he opens it back up, the shock and realization obvious in his eyes. He shakes his head, focusing. It’s just Jeno. Just Jeno. So why is Donghyuck’s heart racing all of the sudden?
“‘S okay,” Jeno murmurs, nuzzling his nose against the warmth of Donghyuck’s neck. “Sorry. I’m crushing you, aren’t I?”
Jeno goes to pull back and shift further away, but Donghyuck stops him with his free arm, pressing his palm between Jeno’s shoulder blades and holding him tight. Jeno looks up at him, but Donghyuck pretends not to see it, staring at his phone. His throat is tight, oddly embarrassed as he holds Jeno until he relaxes back into his chest, forcing out the words: “No, you’re—” perfect, please don’t move “—fine.”
❄️
Donghyuck opens the door to Jeno’s bathroom, too impatient to wait for him to finish showering before starting dinner. They forgot to eat lunch, and despite how distracted Donghyuck was all afternoon, his body quickly remembered that he was starving — his stomach growling so loudly that he would have been embarrassed if anyone else bore witness.
“Jeno,” Donghyuck yells, fighting the music playing from Jeno’s shower speaker on top of his own voice singing along. Something hits the floor of the shower with a loud clang and Jeno pipes out a startled squeak. After hearing Donghyuck’s laughter, Jeno finally pokes his head out of the shower curtain.
“You here to join me?” Jeno asks, putting on a sleazy grin. He opens the shower curtain, letting water spew over the tiled floor. Donghyuck catches a glimpse of bare, muscular thighs and forces himself to look away with a strangled groan before abandoning all reason and climbing in with him.
“Not if you want to eat dinner,” Donghyuck responds through the steam. “I was gonna start cooking. Any requests?”
Jeno hums, thinking about it, then turns to Donghyuck with wide eyes, snapping in his direction like he was trying to recall a memory stuck on the tip of his tongue. “Ooh, ooh. What about that pasta stuff? The pasta soup?”
“What pasta soup?” Donghyuck asks.
“The pasta soup, Donghyuck,” Jeno groans. He rubs his hand over his forehead, like Donghyuck is being the frustrating one. “The one Jaemin made that one time, you know?”
Donghyuck wracks his brain. That pasta soup… that Jaemin made them… that one time. At first, nothing rings a bell at Jeno’s vague and odd request, but then it clicks. “You don’t mean the one from freshman year at friendsgiving do you?”
“Yes, yes! Exactly, Hyuck!” Jeno exclaims, genuinely excited that Donghyuck knew what he was talking about. “I could kiss you right now.”
Donghyuck thinks about it. Jeno, naked and soaking wet, kissing him. Donghyuck would like that a normal amount. “Please don’t,” Donghyuck groans. “We’ll never eat again.”
Jeno’s eyes darken, and Donghyuck backs out of the bathroom just in time for Jeno to offer to eat something else, leaving Donghyuck half hard and frustrated as he trudges back into the kitchen.
Jaemin answers the FaceTime on the second ring.
“Yo,” Jaemin answers, something he most definitely picked up from Mark. Donghyuck ignores all pleasantries, getting straight to the point.
“Do you still have that recipe for the soup you made freshman year at friendsgiving?” Donghyuck asks. When Jaemin still looks confused, Donghyuck elaborates. “You came with like, your girlfriend, remember? I think it might have been her recipe, actually.”
“Ooooh, sexy. Which girlfriend?”
Donghyuck’s eyebrows pinch together. “Have you had more than one girlfriend?”
Jaemin tilts his head. “Does Renjun count?”
“No, Jaem. Renjun doesn’t count.”
“Then no, just the one, I guess. Well, actually—”
“The recipe, Jaemin. Do you still have the recipe?” Donghyuck tells himself to yell at Jeno later for asking for such an obscure meal. Donghyuck’s not even sure they’ll have all of the ingredients in the food desert that is their pantry.
“It’s probably somewhere,” Jaemin shrugs, noncommittal.
“Well, can you look for it?”
A door creaks open in the background of the call before Jaemin can answer, and Donghyuck watches Jaemin’s entire face light up. Donghyuck knows the soup is long forgotten the second that Jaemin’s eyes soften with a “hi, baby,” attention shifting entirely elsewhere, focused and attentive and dripping in devotion.
Hi. Who is that? Oh, Hyuck? Can I see that?
Jaemin hands the phone off without any protest, and Donghyuck is quickly met with Renjun’s disappointed face.
“Where’s Jeno?” Renjun asks.
“No ‘hi’? No ‘how are you’? No ‘I love you so much, Donghyuck’?”
“Where’s Jeno?” Renjun repeats, not in the mood.
Donghyuck flattens his mouth, not ready to have this conversation. “In the bathroom.”
“Are we gonna talk about it?”
“About what?”
“Don’t be stupid. I know you, Hyuck.”
“Well,” Donghyuck says, drawing out the word. He sighs. “No, we’re not gonna talk about it.”
“He texted me, you know,” Renjun says, entirely vague.
Donghyuck’s stomach rolls. “Oh? What did he say?”
“I thought we weren’t going to talk about it?” Renjun asks, eyebrows raised.
“We’re not talking about my feelings, I didn’t say anything about his,” Donghyuck retorts, too curious to act normal or chill at all.
Renjun’s eyes narrow. “So there are feelings involved?”
Fuck. “I didn’t say that. Who said that? Don’t twist my words. Renjun, tell me what he said already. Please?”
“Donghyuck,” Renjun sighs. Donghyuck can practically see the gears turning in his head, at war between not wanting to tell Donghyuck something Jeno said in confidence, and not wanting his best friends to be so stupid when it comes to each other. “You really should talk to him.”
“Don’t do that to me,” Donghyuck practically begs.
“Talk to him. And be honest, okay? Just don’t break his heart, Hyuck,” Renjun says, ominously — and then hangs up.
❄️
“Good news, and bad news,” Donghyuck says, when Jeno finally steps out of his bedroom some twenty minutes later, showered and dressed and shaved. Donghyuck heard the buzz of his electric razor even through his music, and unless Jeno miraculously started growing facial hair in the past day or so, Donghyuck knows he wasn’t shaving his beard. “Which do you want first?”
Jeno groans, padding into the kitchen, feet clothed in baby blue cinnamoroll socks that Donghyuck got him for Christmas as a stocking stuffer and didn’t know if he would like or not. The sight pulls a smile from Donghyuck, but somehow doesn’t ease the rock lodged in his throat since hanging up the phone with Renjun.
“Bad,” Jeno says, looking up at Donghyuck like he’s afraid.
“Okay. Bad news is that Jaemin is absolutely useless, and the recipe you wanted is lost in the wind.”
Jeno’s shoulders visibly sag with relief. “Oh. That’s fine, Hyuck, it was just an idea. What’s the good news?”
Donghyuck smiles, holding up a spoon for Jeno to taste. “The good news is I think I found a similar recipe online.”
Jeno’s eyes light up as he comes around to Donghyuck’s side, wrapping his fingers around Donhgyuck’s wrist before helping him guide the spoonful to his mouth.
Jeno moans around the spoon, looking up at Donghyuck with shock in his eyes. “Donghyuck.”
“Bad?”
“Fuck you. Good. So good,” Jeno laughs, shaking his head. He leans up, smacking a kiss to the corner of Donghyuck’s mouth so casually that it takes a few moments for it to register in Donghyuck’s head that Jeno just kissed him, with no intention of having sex with him right afterwards. “Even better than Jaemin’s, probably.”
Donghyuck smiles, heart beating funny at this kiss, palms sweating at his own stupid feelings. “I’m telling him you said that.”
Jeno laughs at that, beautiful and easy and gentle. “You’re welcome to, he already knows you’re my favorite.”
Donghyuck lets the comment mean more than it does, for just a few minutes, keeping his stupid joy at being Jeno’s favorite to himself. Is this what it’s going to be like? Donghyuck slowly falling into deeper feelings for an oblivious Jeno, pining without being able to get any space away without ruining their friendship?
It’s right then that Donghyuck realizes that despite Jeno telling him specifically not to fall in love with him, Donghyuck went and did it anyway. Renjun told Donghyuck not to break Jeno’s heart, but what if it’s the other way around?
Donghyuck glances up at Jeno, lost in his own world, staring at his phone. Does he know how Donghyuck feels? If he doesn’t, is he going to be upset if Donghyuck tells him? Jeno frowns at his phone and Donghyuck can’t help but wonder if he’s going through a similar thought process.
Too curious to let it go, Donghyuck prods him.
“Why are you pouting this time?” Donghyuck asks, ladling the soup into two bowls. He looks over his shoulder, and sure enough, Jeno is still pouting at his phone.
This time, at least, Jeno doesn’t try to pretend like he wasn’t pouting. “I deleted Grindr.”
Donghyuck freezes. He stares into the soup and wishes he knew what that meant, if he was supposed to read into the implications, or if there even were implications, or if he was just thinking too much. All signs are pointing towards him thinking too much, but Jeno deleting his favorite app has to mean something, right? “Did you?”
“Yeah,” Jeno says, losing a long breath before putting his cheek on the table, laying down on his forearms.
Donghyuck walks towards the table, bowls in hand, shaking. “Can I ask why?”
Jeno looks up at him, taking a deep breath. “Well, I talked to Renjun, and—”
“Of course you did,” Donghyuck interrupts, letting out a huff of frustrated laughter that he immediately regrets when Jeno’s face crosses with dejection.
Jeno goes silent as Donghyuck slips into the seat next to him.
“Sorry,” Donghyuck murmurs, staring into his bowl of soup, ears hot with shame. Is this really how he acts when he has a crush on someone? He doesn’t remember feeling this snappy when he was head over heels for Mark. “Shit, sorry. That made me sound jealous of Renjun, which would be super fucking lame. And also disgusting. Please continue. You talked to Renjun, and?”
Jeno cracks a small smile, and Donghyuck’s shoulders relax a bit. “He gives good advice, you know?”
“Supposedly. He told me about you texting him earlier,” Donghyuck admits, shrugging. He doesn’t say that Renjun didn’t tell him what they were texting about, but that’s semantics really.
“He told you?”
Donghyuck looks up at the shock in Jeno’s voice, the slight wobble of betrayal. “Um. Yeah?”
“I’m so sorry,” Jeno says, face flushed. “Um, god. I really didn’t want you to find out that way. Shit. He promised he wouldn’t say anything, but….” Jeno trails off, staring into his soup like he wants to drown himself in it. Donghyuck can’t help but feel like he’s missing something.
Eyes narrowing, Donghyuck tries to pry the information out of him in a different way. “Don’t be sorry. But… how, um, how did you want me to find out?”
Jeno looks up at him, eyes soft, cheeks red, heart on his chest. “I kind of wanted to tell you over dinner tonight. Or after, I don’t know. I just wanted it to be a special moment, even if you said no.”
Even if you said no… Donghyuck wracks his brain for what this could be about, other than — that — but surely, Jeno doesn’t feel the same way about him… right?
Donghyuck swallows hard, setting his spoon down and cracking his knuckles in his lap, a nervous habit. “How—how about we forget about Renjun, and you just tell me now.”
“You’re not mad?” Jeno asks softly.
Donghyuck shakes his head, unsure what he could possibly be mad about. “Not with you. Never with you, Jen. Just talk to me.”
“Well…. Fuck, why is this is so awkward?” Jeno curses, burying his head in his hands. When he peeks back up, Donghyuck is staring at him, tongue smoothing over his bottom lip, just as frozen with nerves. “I know it’s stupid, and goes against everything we talked about, and we can pretend like I never said anything, if you want, but I like you. I didn’t mean to catch feelings,” Jeno says miserably, pushing a tortelli around his near-empty bowl. “It just happened. So I’m sorry, Hyuck. Please don’t be too upset.”
“You have feelings for me?” Donghyuck clarifies, his mind frozen, the spinning wheel of Apple death plastered on his forehead. Is this actually happening?
“Well, obviously,” Jeno says, head tilting to the side. “Didn’t Renjun already—” he breaks off, eyes widening. “No, no, no. Donghyuck, you… fuck. Renjun didn’t tell you anything, did he?”
Donghyuck’s nose scrunches up and he shakes his head, no. He feels a little guilty, but not really. Jeno likes him. Jeno has feelings for him.
Jeno slaps his shoulder, a little too hard, and Donghyuck winces. “Fuck, Jeno. That actually hurt.”
“My heart hurts,” Jeno murmurs under his breath. “I’m so stupid.”
“Why? It’s not like I don’t have feelings for you, too, idiot.”
“Wait, what?” Jeno looks like Donghyuck just told him the cure to cancer, eyes round with shock, mouth open in a wide ‘O’.
“Gross, right?” Donghyuck asks, unable to stop himself from grinning.
“You mean that?” Jeno asks.
“You told me not to fall in love with you, so obviously I had to do it,” Donghyuck says, shrugging like it was just that easy. “You know, Jen, you should know better than to tell me not to do something.”
“Hmm. Okay, then. Don’t kiss me.”
Donghyuck leans forward, grabbing Jeno by the collar and tugging him into a searing kiss, teeth clanging together awkwardly from how hard they’re both smiling. It’s not the best kiss they’ve had by far, but it’s one of Donghyuck’s favorites, both of them a little too excited to have any sort of finesse, pouring all of their feelings into each other, Jeno’s hands pawing at Donghyuck’s shoulders desperately.
Jeno pulls back just enough to look into Donghyuck’s eyes. He brings a hand up, brushing the hair out of Donghyuck’s eyes, so, so gentle. “Don’t… don’t tell me you love me.”
Donghyuck’s chest tightens, heart beating through his ears. He’s never actually said those words, not in any sort of romantic way. Jeno deserves to hear them, though, even if their friends will laugh at how quickly they’re moving. Really, they’re just doing it all backwards. They moved in together first, then had sex, then confessed their feelings. Donghyuck doesn’t care that it wasn’t normal, or conventional, or that it’s laughable. He just knows it’s true. “I love you.”
Jeno kisses him, “I love you, Donghyuck.”
“Sap,” Donghyuck whispers against his lips, pressing in close, holding Jeno’s face between his palms like it’s the most precious thing in the world, “I love you.”
“Oh my god. Does this mean that we’re dating now?” Jeno asks, staring at Donghyuck with his signature eye smile. He’s so cute — too cute. Dongyuck can’t wait to be insufferable about it, making sure everyone knows they can’t have him. “My mom’s gonna be so excited. She never likes my boyfriends.”
“That’s because you have awful taste, my dear,” Donghyuck chides, kissing Jeno’s nose briefly. “Well, except for with me, obviously. I’m great. Your last boyfriends all sucked though.”
“They were all really good in bed, Hyuck,” Jeno pouts. “Like really good.”
“I’m good in bed, babe,” Donghyuck snaps, annoyed. As much as he would love to talk about how great at sex all of Jeno’s ex boyfriends were, can they focus on how well Donghyuck fucks him, for three seconds — you know, Jeno’s current boyfriend, of two minutes or so.
“Oh, are you?” Jeno asks, putting their bowl in the sink. He leans back, crossing his arms and staring at Donghyuck from across the room, something starving in his gaze. “That’s crazy, I must have forgotten. Guess you’ll have to remind me?”
“That was the worst pick up line I’ve ever heard,” Donghyuck groans. He finds himself moving towards the sink anyway, crowding Jeno against the counter, a hand on either side of his hips.
“Yeah, but you’re easy,” Jeno shrugs, looping his arms around Donghyuck’s neck, grinning as Donghyuck grabs him under the knees and puts him up on the counter, stepping between his thighs.
Donghyuck laughs. “I’m easy? Me?”
Jeno’s eyes smile first, his lips quickly following suit, and he presses the grin to Donghyuck’s mouth. “You are when I say please.”
Donghyuck pulls back, waits.
Jeno laughs, beautiful and happy, head tossing back. “Please, Donghyuck-ah,” he whispers, pulling him back in close, pressing a kiss to the hollow of Donghyuck’s neck. “I need you.”
“You really have feelings for me, huh?” Donghyuck asks, palms making a slow sweep over Jeno’s hips, under his shirt and into the back of his pants.
Jeno nods, his legs wrapping around Donghyuck’s hips, holding him close. “Kinda super in love with you, Hyuck.”
Fuck. Donghyuck groans, wrapping an arm around Jeno’s lower back, the other sliding under his ass, and pulls, until Jeno’s off of the counter and in his arms.
Jeno gasps, clutching at Donghyuck’s shoulders, doing most of the work to hold himself up. “Where are you taking me?”
Donghyuck grins, pressing a kiss to Jeno’s collarbone. “I have a very needy boyfriend I need to take care of, and fresh sheets on my bed.”
“‘M not that needy,” Jeno grumbles.
“Oh my god, do you want me to fuck you or not?” Donghyuck asks, throwing Jeno onto his bed, salivating at the way he stares back up at him, legs spreading to make room for Donghyuck’s body.
Jeno grins like he’s up to no good. “Make love to me, baby.”
“Gross,” Donghyuck whines, “Don’t say that. You sound like Jaemin.”
“Hey, Donghyuck.”
Donghyuck crawls over him. “What, Jeno.”
“I love you.”
Donghyuck — despite all of his hemming and hawing and fake gagging and name throwing — makes love to Jeno. Three times.
❄️
“You ready?” Jeno asks, dragging Donghyuck back into bed by his wrist, pulling the covers over his bare thighs and snuggling into his side. The snow outside has long melted, but it’s still winter, and their apartment’s still sitting at a cool sixty degrees, and Donghyuck is not afraid to complain about being cold. Jeno knows this.
“Are you sure you don’t wanna wait until they’re here next week?” Donghyuck asks, staring at Jeno’s phone, his thumb hovering over Renjun’s contact in the FaceTime app.
“I want to tell them now,” Jeno says with a pout.
Too weak to argue with that face, Donghyuck presses call for him.
Renjun answers on the first ring. He appears to be in bed, too, his hair ruffled, face flushed. Donghyuck doesn’t need to ask what he’s been up to. It’s written in the lazy, sated smile on his face. Gross. Donghyuck would normally make fun of him for it, but isn’t sure he looks much better.
“Is the creature there with you?” Donghyuck asks,
Renjun looks around, eyes wide and searching. “Oh, no I think Pork Chop’s terrorizing the plants in the living room.”
“I wasn’t talking about the cat, Renjun. Is Jaemin there?”
Renjun stares at his phone like he is trying to explode Donghyuck with his mind.
Jaemin takes the phone out of his hand with an excited yet unintelligent noise, moving it like an airplane towards his mouth. Donghyuck gets seasick from the choppy movement, looking away as Jaemin pretends to swallow them.
“Great. Anyway—”
“—We have something to tell you,” Jeno interrupts, holding Donghyuck’s wrist so that the camera is split between them both.
Renjun and Jaemin stare back at the screen, unblinking. “Okay,” Renjun says slowly. “What is it?”
“Guess,” Jeno says with a grin.
Donghyuck and Renjun groan in unison.
“You’re getting a dog?” Jaemin asks, eyebrows high. He takes the phone from Renjun, holding it way too close to his face again. “You’re getting a puppy, aren’t you?”
“No, but close,” Jeno says.
Donghyuck’s eyebrows furrow. “How the fuck is that close?”
Jeno looks at him, frowning. “Well, that would be exciting, and this is also exciting.”
“Getting a dog has nothing to do with this.”
“Whatever,” Jeno grumbles. He turns back to the phone. “Keep guessing.”
“We’re dating,” Donghyuck interrupts, rolling his eyes. Jaemin could be here guessing stupid shit forever, and if Renjun isn’t going to bother with joining in, they’re never going to get off this call. Donghyuck has a few things he’d like to do that involve Jeno’s mouth and Donghyuck’s dick before getting on the bus to go to work, thank you very much.
“Are you kidding me?” Jaemin asks suddenly, groaning. He sticks his thumb nail into his mouth, chewing on it. “This fucking sucks.”
It’s Jeno and Donghyuck’s turn to look bewildered.
“Jaemin owes me fifty for that,” Renjun explains quickly, patting Jaemin’s head placatingly. “He bet it would take you at least a full week to admit that you were dating.”
“I can’t believe you bet on our love life,” Donghyuck says. “Isn’t that, like, wrong in so many ways?”
“We bet on everything,” Jaemin shrugs. “Keeps things interesting.”
“Can’t you just be happy for us?” Jeno asks.
“Of course we’re happy for you guys, Jen,” Renjun soothes. He grins, so,etching vicious in his smile. “I’ve only been waiting for this to happen since sophomore year of college when you were blackout and told me you wanted to hook up with Donghyuck but he made you too nervous.”
“RENJUN!” Jeno shouts, quickly hanging up the call in a panic, ears burning a violent shade of red.
“Sophomore year, huh, baby?” Donghyuck asks, tugging on Jeno’s ear, grinning so hard his face might get stuck like this forever.
“Shut up. I was so embarrassed when I woke up and saw our texts that I made him promise to never talk about it again.”
“Too late,” Donghyuck hums, entirely too pleased by the information.
“We totally should have told Mark first,” Jeno grumbles.
Donghyuck thinks about it. “We can call him now, he’s probably still home. How much do you want to bet that dude is one of the first five words he says?”
Jeno laughs. “He’s outgrown that by now, and also, you’re no better than Jaemin and Renjun, you hypocrite.”
Donghyuck raises an eyebrow. “Loser gives the winner head, take it or leave it.”
“Take it, what the fuck?” Jeno says, scrolling through his contacts as he says it. Mark’s name fills the screen almost immediately. “Please don’t let me down,” Jeno murmurs at the screen, “please, please, please.”
Donghyuck and Jeno both tense up when the call goes through, holding their breath.
“What’s up, Yed?” Mark answers, his voice slightly muffled like he has the call on speaker phone.
Jeno looks at Donghyuck with wide, excited eyes, and Donghyuck holds up a finger. That's only three words… technically not all hope is lost, yet. “Hey, It’s Donghyuck, actually. I just wanted to call you with some good news, I guess? Um, Jeno and I are dating.”
“DUDE! No fucking way, that’s huge. I’m so hype for y’all.”
Jeno buries a frustrated groan into the pillow, and Donghyuck grins, triumphant.
“So hype, dude,” Donghyuck nods, only somewhat mocking Mark.
After all, dating Jeno is pretty hype. Just don’t tell anyone Donghyuck said that.
