Chapter Text
It was the year of 305. The year Brandon from House Stark becomes the new King of Westeros, Bran I the Broken. King of the Andals and the First Men, Lord of the Six Kingdoms and Protector of the Realm. Not only that, his ability in warging, or known as the three-eyes raven, helped him in ruling the kingdom. Or, rebuilding the kingdom of ashes.
King’s Landing were no longer the same before Daenerys the Dragon Queen burnt it all in rage. Ever since then, the smallfolks learned to not play with fire anymore. Although, not much got the lesson since most of them are part of the casualties in the burning. And honestly, it’s a known fact that they didn’t actually care who sits the throne, as long as they were cared for. If the new king are no better than the previous ones, the smallfolks could’ve just revolt, like the olden days.
Anyway, from the beginning of King Bran’s ruling, he have been busy with rebuilding what was lost in the burning. And to Tyrion’s curious mind, he also rebuilding the Summerhall castle, or known as House Targaryen’s summer castle. When he was asked, Bran remained silent for quite a long time, only for him to reply with a vague sentence.
“They are coming and we must greet them properly,”
The answer did nothing to quench Tyrion’s curiousity, but he learned not to ask the second time, since Bran is not one to repeat the same things, unless needed.
During the rebuild of the Summerhall castle in 307 AC, the workers found a half of dozen of dragon eggs. Tyrion who oversees the construction sent the word to King’s Landing only for him to received a letter from Bran himself.
‘Bring the dragon eggs to King’s Landing’
Knowing how rare dragon eggs are, Tyrion himself decided to brought the dragon eggs to King’s Landing. It’s not that he doesn’t trust them - he actually don’t -, considering the condition that they’re in now, everyone is least to say, desperate. This is not a good time to live in. Not just many people died in the many wars of the previous years, also the fact that people no longer consider to believe that Westeros is safe for children to lives in. The numbers of neborn babies also keep decreasing compares to the previous years. At first, it’s 100 then it just dropped from there. The fallen of many noble houses also plays a part since they have no reason to have an heir.
Speaking about heir, Tyrion did thought of it, in regards of King Bran. He wouldn’t speak regarding the King’s dalliance. But, wouldn’t it be good if he got an heir to himself? It shows the stability of the crown, which is the kingdom itself, too. Naming an heir can also prevent from a huge historical events such as the Great council of 101 AC. The first council planted the seed of the first major civil war in the Seven Kingdoms. It wouldn’t be a pretty record for the new King.
Dragon eggs. King’s Landing.
Everytime that two things are said in one sentence, Tyrion can’t help but think about Daenerys Targaryen. He heard about Jon Snow’s resurrection at the Walls, even heard it form Ser Davos Seaworth, who was present when it happened. It was magical, he said. Does it mean it’s possible that Daenerys could’ve return if she were resurrected by one of the red priestess? It’s what in his head the whole journey return to King’s Landing.
If Daenerys do return, how would they defeat her this time around? He sees it himself how dragon grows as time passes, and Drogon also being the only living dragon in this time. Again, Targaryen. Not all of them have dragons, yes, but speaking of present, there are another living Targaryen. Somewhere out there. A boy that he met a long time ago. A boy that was known to be dead by the whole Westeros.
Aegon Targaryen. The Young Griff.
Last time he heard they got the help of the Elephant Company. The sellswords company that was founded by Aegon IV’s bastard, Aegor Rivers or known as Bittersteel. That is the sellswords company that Cersei wanted to have on her, years ago, now she’s in Dorne, with Jaime and their two children, Myrcella and Tommen. Myrcella was wedded to Quentyn, the new Prince of Dorne and Lord of Sunspear, also the brother of her late fiancé, Trystane who died after drink a poison from his cousins. It’s tragic but it’s war. Furthermore, Arianne the Dornish princess was heard to be seen near the Young Griff. The talk of marriage between the two were also floating around the Westeros. Suppose that’s not a good idea after what happened with Prince Rhaegar and Elia Martell. But again, they wed themselves with the Lannisters, the one that gives the command of such brutal acts, so maybe the past is in the past now?
“Lord Tyrion,” said the soldier.
Tyrion looked up as the door was opened. He was greeted with the sight of Bran and Sansa, sitting beside each other, having lunch perhaps. His feet moves to walked in and stopped few feets before the dining table, so does the servants that carried the trunk that contained six dragon eggs. “Your grace,” he greets Bran before did the same to Sansa. Bran raised his right hand, silently gesturing him to proceed.
“I came here bringing the dragon eggs, just as your grace command,” he states, opening the trunk with his left hand. The king only nodded seeing the dragon eggs, but Sansa frowned and turned to her brother.
“What do you need with the dragon eggs for? Daenerys is gone,” she said.
“It’s for my heir,” he replied, curtly. His lips twitched as if to smile but anyone who saw it don’t think so. And they are much more interested to what he means, but Bran doesn’t work that way. He would say something cryptic and the listener have to encrypt it themselves. If they misinterpret it, then, it’s their fault, never his. This happened to few servants whom Bran dismissed because they are uncapable in serving their King, he said.
There are only three Targaryens that are alive, as far as Tyrion know. One is dead, Daenerys. Jon Snow is away and he seems more Stark than Targaryen, seeing how he carrying himself in harsh weather. Lastly, the Young Griff. He has yet to appeal himself to Westeros.
Is it him? Or, Bran sees someone that is not him. Someone that no one have met yet.
