Work Text:
“Is this where kiss like Benediction monks from different monasteries?”
Hector looked at him carefully, heat rising up to his face. Isaac was staring at him, his eyes so glossy he saw his own reflection.
Hector looked away quickly, staring at the ground and pushed his hair behind his ear.
“Would you want to?” Hector asked quietly.
A short gasp escaped from Isaac’s mouth, turning away to look at the earth.
“I don’t know. I’ve become lost when it comes to emotion. I feel nothing. Especially for you.” Isaac said, stoic and unforgiving
“It was worth a try. I appreciate your honesty” Hector said
“We should be heading back to the castle now” Isaac said shortly, totally disregarding what Hector had just said.
Isaac started walking and Hector trailed steadily behind him. Isaac kept a steady pace until about halfway to the castle his pacing faltered and fell to a stop. He looked at the ground as Hector stopped behind him.
“Is everything alright?” Hector asked
Isaac simply stared to the ground, contemplating, before he tested his words cautiously.
“I do not know whenever I will be ready for love. I do not think I have ever loved anyone in my life.” He turns to Hector, “I have become so desensitized to human emotions I do not even know who I am anymore.”
Hector stares at him, unsure of what to say.
“If that changes, if I somehow learn how to feel again, will you wait for me?” Isaac asked, mask falling a little bit
Hector bares holes in his eyes, searching for a hidden motive, yet had found nothing.
“I suppose I have to. We’re the only humans that understand each other, right?” Hector asked, trying to lighten the mood. Isaac simply nods and starts walking again. Hector sighs and stands there for a bit. He wonders how long he can be patient. He runs to catch up to Isaac to return to the castle.
He could be patient.
As long as it takes.
