Work Text:
“What the fuck are you doing Jason?” Dick asks as he’s scooped up and carried through the doorway to the hall from the family room, where they’ve been decorating for Christmas.
“Annoying you,” Jason grins, randomly tossing him aside and scurrying back to the room.
Dick rolls his eyes as he turns and lands in a crouch, before rising to his feet and heading back through the doorway, right as Wally comes through to check on him. They pause in the doorway.
“Hell was that?” Wally asks, laughing quietly.
“Oh, hey, what’s that!” Tim says 'innocently,' pointing above their heads.
Dick groans. He doesn’t even look up. “It’s mistletoe, isn’t it Walls?”
Wally looks up. “Yep,” he says, popping the ‘p.’
“What a bizarre coincidence!” Jason adds.
“It’s almost like you planned this,” Wally says dryly.
“Wanna make them regret it?” Dick whispers, snickering.
Wally’s grin stretches wide across his face. “Hell yeah.”
They surge forward and start kissing aggressively, arms around each other.
“Oh god stop we’re sorry!” Tim cries.
Wally lays a hand on the small of Dick’s back and pulls their hips together.
“WHY DID YOU PICK THE ROOM WITH ONE FUCKING DOOR TIMOTHY?”
Dick jumps up and Wally catches him, pressing his back against the doorframe.
“Look away, just look away,” Tim sobs.
There’s the sound of a couple thumps.
Dick stops and lays his forehead against Wally’s, both of them laughing quietly. Dick removes his legs from around Wally’s waist and drops to his feet. They look into the room and Jason and Tim are missing.
“Is it over?” Jason whispers, his head popping up from behind the sofa. “Oh thank god.” He flips over the back of the sofa, sitting normally.
“Learn your lesson, you little schemers?” Wally asks.
Tim flips over too, landing beside Jason.
“Yes.”
“Good.” Dick pecks Wally on the lips and pulls him back into the room.
Christmas, the snow’s coming down
Dick grins and starts singing and dancing with Wally.
Christmas, I’m watching it fall
“Oh hey, my favorite!” Jason pops up and begins to dance and sing with them.
Christmas, lots of people around
“Oh why not,” Tim adds, joining as well.
Christmas, baby please come home
Dick’s eyes lock onto Wally’s to sing that line, and they start watering with happy tears.
Wally holds up their connected hands, and Dick laughs as he does a spin. “I love you.”
Wally grins. “I love you too.”
Dick winks and then breaks away from Wally. He snatches up Tim’s hand with a small yelp of surprise, pulling him closer and dances and sings with his baby brother.
In the corner of his eyes he sees Wally and Jason dancing and singing together as well, no cares in the world. Dick hasn’t been this happy at Christmastime in years. He’s gonna soak up every moment.
Dick and Wally eye each other, a silent conversation. They nod, and move in sync. Wally grabs Tim while Dick grabs Jason, switching partners.
Jason rolls his eyes fondly at Dick, and the four of them just dance and sing for... well, who cares how long?
Dick couldn’t be happier.
