Chapter Text

March 6, 2023: Hansol slips after hurting himself, and Yeonjun has to call for backup.

Word Count: 2,574

Pairing: Caregiver! Yoon Jeonghan x Little! Chwe Hansol OT13

Alternate Universe: Idolverse

Hansol smiles softly as he watches Yeonjun skate around the skate park. He’s sitting at the top of the ramp watching Yeonjun do tricks on the ramps and down the side. It was nice to see his dongsaeng look so refreshed after a long week of schedules. Hansol had promised Yeonjun that if he did well in his schedules that Hansol would take him somewhere fun when they were both free.

After two music show wins and a couple of concerts Hansol cleared his schedule so that he would be able to take Yeonjun out finally. That morning when Hansol woke up, Jeonghan was already awake laying an outfit out on the bed for Hansol to wear. Hansol had informed Jeonghan of his plans already and his boyfriend packed him a bag.

Jeonghan picked out a light pink shirt with a sunflower in the middle, whitewashed denim jeans, and a pale yellow beanie to match the sunflower on Hansol’s shirt. When he saw Hansol was awake he leaned over and kissed his forehead before grinning.

“Mingyu promised to cook you and Yeonjun some pasta, he said he would pack sandwiches and sweets too. I packed you an emergency bag in case you slip. You remember our rules?” Jeonghan asks.

Hansol is half asleep but he nods anyway. Jeonghan and the other hyungs always made sure to remind him of his rules when he was going out on his own. Hansol knew his rules by heart, whether he was big or little.

“Call hyung as soon as I slip. If I use my paci wear a mask over it.” Hansol says tiredly.

Jeonghan giggles before kissing Hansol’s forehead once more. Hansol smiles to himself with his eyes closed.

“I’m leaving now. Don’t snooze your alarm. I’m going to call you at ten to make sure you’re awake. Have fun.” Jeonghan says.

Hansol doesn’t do much except let out a sleepy hum before closing his eyes once more and returning to sleep. Jeonghan leaves silently after that. When Hansol wakes up it’s not to the sound of his alarm but to the sound of Jeonghan’s personalized ringtone.

So that’s how his morning goes. By the time he’s awake so are all the other members. The majority of them still have schedules so the house is bustling with energy. Hansol drags himself into the kitchen and has a seat at the table. Mingyu grins upon seeing him and places a plate in front of him.

It’s onigiri but they’re shaped like hearts, bears, and stars. The bear even has a face made from seaweed. It looks very childish. Hansol feels himself blush. Before Hansol can say anything a pair of chopsticks comes into his view and picks up one of the hearts. It’s brought to his lips and Hansol fights back a whine as he makes eye contact with Joshua.

“Ap- Hyung I’m big. I have to be big, I’m taking Yeonjun to the skatepark today.” Hansol says.

Joshua raises an eyebrow, before sighing and placing the onigiri back on the plate. He ruffles Hansol’s hair before standing back up and walking over to Mingyu who’s happy to be babied even though Mingyu himself was a caregiver and not a little. Joshua just had that effect on all of them.

“Here I was thinking I’d get baby Sol this morning,” Joshua says pouting.

Hansol has to suppress a whine at Joshua’s words. When Jeonghan wasn’t around Little Hansol found himself clinging to Joshua, hence how Joshua earned the title Appa while Jeonghan was Abeoji. They meant the same thing but to little Hansol they were different things so the males accepted it. Hansol quickly ate his food by himself before pulling his phone out to text Yeonjun.

Mini Me:

What time are you picking me up?

I’ll be there in an hour! Just bring your skateboard and yourself!

Mini Me:

Okay hyung! I’m excited

After texting Yeonjun, Hansol places his now empty plate in the sink and presses a kiss to Mingyu’s lips shyly. He blushes as Mingyu raises an eyebrow at him. He wrings his hands nervously, pushing the urge to slip down.

“Thank you for breakfast, and thank you for packing food for Yeonjun and me. I know you had to get up early on your day off and I appreciate that.” Hansol says.

He finds himself pulling Mingyu in for a hug shyly. Mingyu hugs him back before placing kisses all over Hansol’s face until he begins giggling uncontrollably.

“If you keep being so sweet I’m not going to let you leave,” Mingyu says.

Hansol just giggles before sliding out of the kitchen and heading to the bathroom to shower. On his way into the bathroom, he meets Minghao coming out in nothing but a towel and he’s almost distracted once more. He showers quickly not wanting to keep Yeonjun waiting any longer than he needs to.

He grabs the bag that Jeonghan packed for him, his keys, and the picnic basket before sneaking out the door. If he stayed there even a second longer one of the members would have coaxed him into slipping for sure. He didn’t want to cancel on his dongsaeng though, especially since he had promised.

He arrives only about ten minutes later than the scheduled time and Yeonjun is sitting outside when he pulls up. He rolls down his window and grins at the younger male.

“Did I make you wait long?” He asks.

“Of course not. I just came out so Kai wouldn’t try to join us.” Yeonjun says.

He climbs in the car placing his skateboard between his legs in the passenger seat. He fastens his seatbelt and then Hansol begins to drive. When they arrive Yeonjun’s eyes light up and he hurriedly unfastens his seatbelt. Hansol giggles as he begins to unpack the picnic basket and his bag.

“Hyung where did you find this place?” Yeonjun asks.

Hansol shrugs as they walk to the ramp. The skatepark is really empty which is surprising because although it’s a Wednesday the skatepark is still usually packed around this time.

“I used to come here a lot when I was a trainee to do tricks on my bike,” Hansol says.

Hansol feels perfectly content with just watching Yeonjun skate all through the park. He cheers him on and claps for him enjoying how free Yeonjun looks. Hansol gets on the swing for a bit before feeling himself get a bit thirsty.

“Yeonjun come eat, Mingyu made us pasta,” Hansol calls.

He spreads the tiny blanket over the concrete before laying out the containers. Mingyu was kind enough to make them each a separate container and Hansol can’t help but dote on Yeonjun. Since he was one of the youngest members it was rare that he was able to dote on anyone. It felt nice to be able to spoil his dongsaeng.

Hansol opens Yeonjun’s drink for him and even cuts the younger’s beef for him when he sees him struggle. They talk about work while they eat and although it should be annoying to talk about work on their day off, the conversation flows easily. Yeonjun helps Hansol pack up when they’re done before he dusts off his pants and stands. Hansol takes the hand that is offered to him and stands as well.

“Can I teach you how to skateboard?” Yeonjun asks.

Hansol nods almost immediately.

“It does look fun,” Hansol admits.

Yeonjun grins as he leads Hansol to a way smaller ramp that looks as if it was made for kids. He places his foot on his skateboard before turning to Hansol.

“First I want you to place one foot on the skateboard and practice pushing forward with your opposite foot to gain speed. Then I’ll show you how to balance.” Yeonjun says. It seems easy enough but Hansol is still cautious when he takes his first steps. They continue strolling around with Hansol gaining speed for about ten minutes before Yeonjun switches the routine.

“Now I want you to hold on to me while I push you. Just focus on balance for now.” Yeonjun instructs.

Hansol can admit he does feel free as the wind blows and he just glides. When Yeonjun instructs him to pick up speed he pushes forward with his dominant leg much like he was taught. He doesn’t realize Yeonjun’s let him go until he passes him by after a whole lap.

Yeonjun looks proud and so Hansol turns to give him a thumbs up but in doing so he loses his concentration and misses the crack in the sidewalk. Before he can do much to save himself he hits the ground. In trying to catch himself he scrapes the palms of his hands pretty badly.

Tears well up in his eyes as he stares at his hands. He’s on his knees and at that moment he only wants one thing or rather one person. He doesn’t realize Yeonjun has crouched in front of him or that the tears have fallen until Yeonjun wipes them away.

“Are you okay? That was a nasty fall” Yeonjun asks.

Hansol whines as he fails to find the words he wants to say. Yeonjun is gentle as he takes Hansol’s hands in his own to inspect the damage.

“Call Abeoji?” Hansol asks.

His eyes are wide and he’s pouting. Yeonjun is confused by the change in Hansol’s voice. Even more so when Hansol sits on his heels and pulls his phone from his pocket. He winces however and drops the phone before bursting into tears.

“Hurts. Yoyo hurts.” Hansol whines showing his hands to Yeonjun. Yeonjun doesn’t want to panic as he assumes somehow the fall was responsible for Hansol’s behavior. Although Hansol had not hit his head on the ground the only thing that made sense was that the fall caused Hansol to start acting like a child.

Before Yeonjun can dwell on the thoughts for too long, Hansol’s phone rings. On any other occasion, Yeonjun wouldn’t dare answer or touch Hansol’s phone but when the name Han flashed across the screen with a picture of Jeonghan he felt as if he had no choice. He answered with a shy hello and for thirty seconds there was straight silence, and then,

“Is that Hansol crying?” Jeonghan asks.

“He fell off the skateboard and scraped his hands pretty badly, he’s crying for his abeoji and he’s acting pretty much like a baby.” Yeonjun rushes out.

Jeonghan clicks his teeth on the other side of the line. There’s some shuffling and some background conversation before Jeonghan comes back to the phone.

“Listen carefully Yeonjun, I want you to give Hansol the phone and while I talk to him, pack your things up and put them in his car. Joshua and I are on our way and Joshua will bring you home.” Jeonghan says softly.

Yeonjun nods but then remembers that Jeonghan can’t see him. He agrees verbally before tapping Hansol’s shoulder lightly and pushing the phone into his hands. He then stands and walks over to where they had their picnic and begins folding the blanket. He’s grateful the park is empty today and he wonders if his hyung had anything to do with that.

“Nonnie,” Jeonghan calls from the other line.

Hansol sniffles into the phone. The pain in his hands is dull now and he’s truly only crying because he wants Jeonghan. Hearing his caregiver’s voice makes him freeze.

“Abeoji. Nonnie hurt.” Hansol says.

“I know baby. Appa and I are on the way. Where’s your bag? Your favorite paci is in there, the pretty pink one with the butterflies that Seok bought you.”

“Abeoji… Nonnie no use paci with Yoyo here.” Hansol whispers.

He sounds a lot better and it makes Jeonghan flood with relief. He tries not to giggle at the way Hansol whispers to him. Joshua is driving since Jeonghan wants to focus on keeping Hansol calm.

“Where is Yoyo?” Jeonghan asks, assuming that Yoyo was Yeonjun.

Last he checked with Hansol only an hour early, they were the only two at the park and had been since they arrived. He hoped that was the case still.

“Yoyo in the car,” Hansol says before letting out a yawn. Jeonghan fails to stifle his giggle this time.

“Did all that crying tire you out, Sol?”

“Sleepy abeoji,” Hansol says.

Jeonghan hums on the other line as they pull into the skatepark. The only car there is Hansol’s car so Joshua and Jeonghan head over to it. Jeonghan hangs up the phone and makes his way over to Yeonjun.

“Hey, thank you. I know this was a new experience to see Hansol cry and I hope you weren’t uncomfortable at any point.” Jeonghan says.

Yeonjun shakes his head.

“Not at all, can you make sure to tell Hyung that I had a really fun time? Thank him for me too when he’s feeling a little better.” Yeonjun says.

Jeonghan pulls the younger boy into a hug before handing Hansol’s car keys over to Joshua. Joshua pushes Hansol’s hair from his forehead intending to give him a kiss but then he remembers that Yeonjun is watching so instead he pats Hansol’s shoulder.

He motions for Yeonjun to get in the car and heads over to the driver’s side. Jeonghan and Hansol watch them until they’ve driven down the street and turned the corner. Only then does Hansol realize that Joshua and Yeonjun are leaving them.

“Where appa go?” Hansol asks.

Jeonghan kisses Hansol on the cheek sweetly before pulling him towards the car. Hansol has his thumb in his mouth as he allows Jeonghan to buckle him into his seatbelt. His eyes are a bit droopy and he looks utterly sleepy, it makes Jeonghan’s heart flutter.

“Appa is taking Yoyo to his house. We’ll see him at home.” Jeonghan says.

Jeonghan pulls Hansol’s thumb from his mouth and accesses the damage. Hansol whines and Jeonghan slips the pacifier between his lips instantly soothing the younger male. Jeonghan pulls the first aid kit he had brought with him and gently begins to clean Hansol’s wounds.

Once they’re clean he places bandaids over spots that looked prone to infection where he actually broke the skin. He presses a kiss to Hansol’s palm and then his forehead. Jeonghan then fastens his own seatbelt and starts their drive home.

Hansol’s eyes flutter open as he feels himself being lifted and he stares into the eyes of Mingyu. He rubs his eyes and then yawns causing his pacifier to slips from his lips. Hansol lets out a whine but he is quieted by Minghao placing the pacifier back between his lips.

“Long day baby?” Minghao asks.

Hansol nods while reaching his hands towards Minghao who sitting on the sofa chair. Minghao removes the blanket that covers him and opens his arms. Mingyu carries Hansol and then places him on Minghao’s lap. Hansol giggles as Minghao immediately bombards him with kisses.

Hansol rests his head on Minghao’s shoulder still feeling a bit tired. Minghao covers them both with the blanket as he begins rubbing Hansol’s back. Hansol smiles softly to himself as he makes himself comfortable in Minghao’s lap.

Jeonghan finds the two of them asleep like that later when he’s done with his live and he doesn’t have the heart to wake them up. Instead he takes a quick photo and forwards it to the groupchat for later use.
