Chapter Text
"To Aira Shiratori. You're invited to join us at ensemble square!". The pamphlet said. "A small hidden town in Inazuma, you can find us here!"
"Hey Kohakuchii! Have you heard of ensemble square before?"
"No, I haven't." He was lying down on their couch, holding a similar letter that was addressed to him. Aira continued reading his.
“Come meet many friends and go on TONS of adventures with your adventure guild assigned team!!”
‘Why does this look like a marketing ad?’
Underneath “Find us here!" it showed the location on a map of Inazuma and in large text it said,"Do NOT show this pamphlet to any others who were not invited. Thank you, Eichi Tenshouin."
On the next page, it showed pictures of little houses that surrounded a larger building in the middle, probably the town hall. 'It seems pretty cool,' he thought. He just doesn't understand why he was invited. Kohaku getting an invitation made sense as he had a vision and great fighting skills. Aira on the other hand had no vision and was seen as an underachiever in their village to the point that their adventure guild started giving him pity quests because he wouldn't stop trying out.
"Rabu-han, wanna go check it out?"
“Huh?”
“Do you wanna go an’ check it out?”
“Oh-uh, sure?”
Kohaku turns over from the couch to look at Aira. “...Are you alright? You don’t seem so sure about goin’.”
Aira looks down at his feet. “...I don’t want a repeat of what happened here. I don’t want to be seen as useless by the other townspeople again…”
He hears Kohaku get up and walk over, sitting on the stool beside him. “It’s gon’ be alright, Rabu-han. It isn’t going to happen again, I’ll make sure of it, there’s gotta be a reason we were both invited instead of the A rank adventurers here. It could also be a great adventure for the both of us!”
Aira looks up at Kohaku and sees his eyes sparkle with excitement. He was also probably thinking about new sweets he could try with the sweet tooth he has.
He sighs(fondly), “Alright. What do we tell my parents?” They both were living with Aira’s parents after all and they were going to be really sad that Aira and his pink haired friend were leaving for another town.
“It’ll be fine, they’ll prolly want you to take this opportunity and make more friends than just lil' ol’ me.”
“Don’t say that!!” He smacks Kohaku’s arm, earning a small ‘ow’ from him. “You’ll always be my best friend!”
“Alright, Alright. Let’s go tell your parents and pack our stuff for the trip, it seems pretty far away so the trip is gonna take a day or two at most.”
“Ok!”
