Chapter Text
This wasn’t exactly “laying low,” but in Vash’s defense… he was bored. There were only so many nights he could spend hiding out in whatever motel he found that day that didn’t require an ID or credit card, eating whatever fast food dollar menu–or on bad nights, whatever he could put together from the vending machine–and watching whatever soap opera or trashy “reality” show on TV, whichever had the least amount of static. Tonight he had had enough. Enough of the monotony, enough of the isolation, he just wanted to be a normal person, out for normal fun. Besides, it was a big city, the odds of running into anyone that knew his brother and would recognize him felt so slim.
That was how he found himself at a club whose name he’d already forgotten, drink in hand as he made his way through the dancefloor. He was too sober to dance still, but he nodded along to the beat, shifting his weight from one foot to the other more than anything else. The lights flashed different colors overhead, bathing the dancers in blue and red and green, illuminating just enough to show someone where they were going but not enough to see your partner in the crowd. The bass was so intense Vash swore the floor was vibrating under his feet, and the hard beat of whatever techno song was playing settled deep in his chest. It was all strangely grounding. Although he recognized for most people it was an escape, a means of forgetting who they are for the night, for him it was a reminder of who he was before… before everything happened with Nai.
Vash sighed and ran a hand through his hair, physically shaking the thought away before finding the bar once more. He set his empty glass down and waited for the bartender’s attention, leaning down to cross his arms on the bar top. Before he could order, the woman set a shot down in front of him, and immediately pointed towards the other end of the bar where an older man sat. Vash gave him a polite smile, and held the shot up in a cheers before throwing it back. Beggars couldn’t be choosers, and he wasn’t about to turn down a free drink. Even if the way the guy was looking at him made his skin crawl a little.
He ordered another drink before the bartender could leave again, and all but forgot about the stranger as he went off in search of a restroom. He pushed the door open and immediately froze in place, his jaw dropping before he could even fully process what he’d walked in on.
There was a tall, lanky man sitting on the toilet, head lolled back against the wall, and another, far more muscular man clad in all leather knelt down between his legs, his head bobbing rhythmically.
“S-sorry!” He near-shouted when his brain finally caught up to what was happening, and slammed the door shut in his own face. His face felt white-hot, and a weird combination of embarrassment and guilt settled uncomfortably in his stomach. Before he could think better of it he threw the door open once more to reach around and do the lock for them. The man on the floor must have heard the door the second time because he was looking over his shoulder, ready with a smirk when Vash caught his eye.
He had to leave. He had to leave right now.
Vash walked quickly away from the restrooms, making a beeline for the exit when he remembered the drink in his hand. He stopped in his tracks and frowned, nearly pouting as he looked down at the drink. It would be wasteful to just leave it… and he wasn’t exactly made of money right now… He bit his bottom lip and dared a glance towards the restroom, watching for just a moment until he was sure no one was coming out. What were the odds either of them actually got a good look at him? And even if they had, the guy hadn’t seemed nearly as embarrassed as Vash felt in the brief moment of eye contact they shared.
It was fine. He was freaking out over nothing. Vash made his way to the opposite side of the bar where he found a door that led to the club’s courtyard. There were several tables and chairs set up outside, mainly for smokers he assumed by the amount of ashtrays, but also for people that just needed a breath of fresh air. Vash found an unaccompanied table and took a seat, leaning back and dropping his head to look up at the sky. Usually he found comfort in the stars, but he could barely see any tonight with the light pollution from the city. It was enough to make him pout, his brows furrowed, and he fished his burner phone out of his pocket. He would have to try and find a smaller town nearby, one that he could reach on foot or was on a bus route…
“Got a light?”
Vash glanced up from his phone, and felt his heart immediately drop into his gut. No matter how briefly he saw the guy’s face, he saw his all leather get-up, and he doubted there were many others there that night dressed and built like he was. He had only seen his shoulders and his back, but now he could see his broad chest on full display, a white button-up buttoned purposefully under the swell of his pecs and a rosary nestled between them. The man was smirking that same smirk he had caught earlier, a cigarette hanging out the side of his mouth as he leaned one hand on the table. He would have felt far more embarrassed for ogling him so openly, except when he finally dared to meet his eye, the stranger immediately gave him a slow up-down.
“S-sorry?”
“A light,” he repeated, taking the seat next to him. “Junky fuck had enough blow on him to kill a horse, but no lighter? What kind of one stop shop is that?”
“I think I do?” Vash fumbled with his phone a moment before digging through his pockets. Surely… he came up victorious, and grinned as he held the lighter out for the stranger.
The man didn’t take it, he just looked at him with a brow quirked, and propped his chin up in his hand, cigarette perched on his lips. Slowly, in case he had read into things wrong, he held the lighter up to the cigarette, and rolled the sparkwheel with his thumb, igniting it. The tip burned red as the man sucked in, his eyes locked on Vash’s. His skin felt prickly under his gaze, but… it didn’t feel uncomfortable.
“Thanks, doll,” he mumbled, leaning back in his seat and finally releasing Vash from his gaze. He took a long drag and dropped his head back to blow the smoke straight up. “Don’t think I’ve ever seen you around here before. You just get in?”
“Yeah,” he started, considering his words. It didn’t really matter what he told this guy, did it? It wouldn’t make any difference. “I’m not staying long though. Just passing through.”
He hummed and crossed an arm behind his head. “How long you here for?”
“Just the night, I think. It’s too bright here, not really a fan.” The other man gave him a confused look, so he continued, gesturing towards the sky. “Can’t see any stars. Makes me feel weird.”
“Damn shame,” he sighed, kicking his feet up to rest them on the table. His thighs were thicker than Vash’s head, and he found himself staring, his cheeks flushing when he realized he was caught in the act. That damn smirk returned, but he didn’t address it. “What’s your name?”
“Vash.”
“Nicholas Wolfwood,” he offered, holding out a gloved hand for him to shake. His hand almost completely engulfed Vash’s own, his palm warm against his.
Vash didn’t do this anymore. He didn’t meet people, didn’t exchange names and vague pleasantries. It wasn’t safe to get others involved, not now, not when he could still feel Nai’s eyes always on him. But god did he feel the weight of his isolation dragging him down. Just shaking someone’s hand had never given him butterflies before, and he knew had he been in his right mind, it still wouldn’t now. It had just been so long since he felt another person’s warmth.
“I’m… gonna go back in. It was nice meeting you,” he said, putting on a smile as he pulled his hand back and got to his feet. Before Wolfwood could say anything he retreated back into the club, back into the darkness and the overwhelming bass, and told himself he could just disappear into the crowd.
He returned his glass to the bar then walked out the front door. There was no point now–he had had his fun, he might as well just call it a night now and not risk running into Wolfwood again. If Vash was one thing he was self aware, and he knew that if he stayed he wouldn’t be able to resist temptation, to resist Wolfwood. And he couldn’t risk dragging a stranger into his bullshit.
It was a decent walk back to his motel, but he didn’t mind. The cool air would help him sober up, and by the time he got back he could make a plan, find a bus, find a town, and just keep going on the way he had been the last month. A ghost.
Vash was so caught up in his own thoughts he hadn’t noticed the footsteps behind him, hadn’t heard the man’s breathing. He was snapped out of it when he felt the hand on the back of his neck, his reflexes catching up too slowly as he was shoved into a brick wall. He had enough foresight to turn his head, to keep his nose from breaking against the concrete, but not enough to prevent his brow from catching the brunt of the impact. It didn’t register that he was bleeding at first–he was still struggling to catch up to what happened to him when the man that bought him a drink at the bar earlier was turning him around to face him.
“Couldn’t even be bothered to say thank you?” He panted, pressing his body up against his.
Vash wanted to fight back, to shove the asshole off of him, but his body wasn’t responding. His hands trembled uselessly at his sides, his mouth opening and closing with the thought that he should scream, but he was caught off guard by the taste of iron hitting his tongue. It wasn’t one of Nai’s men–he was only ever expecting one of Nai’s men, he couldn’t process that a stranger who had nothing to do with anything could be a threat to him.
He was being forced to the ground then, his back scraping against the brick as his ass hit pavement. Two hands moved to undo the belt buckle in front of him, when they suddenly stopped. He heard a familiar click, and he looked up towards the sound, the steel from the pistol shining like a beacon. The man that had him against the wall slowly stepped back, taking his hands from his belt to hold them up on either side of his head.
“H-hey man, it’s cool-” Before he could turn around the stranger brought a hammer down across his skull with a sickening crack, and his body immediately crumbled down onto the ground.
“Piece a shit,” Wolfwood spat on the unconscious man, shoving his gun back into the waistband of his pants. He looked down at Vash then, and gestured with his now bloody hammer. “You alright, doll?”
Vash could only stare at him as he knelt down to his level, Wolfwood’s fingers surprisingly gentle as he brushed his hair away from the gash on his brow. He looked him up and down, surveying more than ogling, before breathing a sigh of relief.
“You’ll be fine,” he murmured, finally resheathing the hammer inside his jacket. He took Vash’s hands in both of his and pulled him to his feet as he stood, keeping his hold on him even when he was sure he wouldn’t fall.
Adrenaline flooded his veins like fire, and Vash felt his breath hitch in his throat. Fight or flight was bullshit, he absolutely froze , he was fully shocked into submission and his body had refused to do anything. If it weren’t for Wolfwood showing up…
“Hey,” he breathed, ducking his head down to his level, and he abandoned his hold on one hand to cup his cheek, his thumb rubbing away the blood that had trailed down. “Look at me.”
It was like his eyes wouldn’t focus. Was he crying? He didn’t think he was crying. Vash brought his free hand to his gash, and pulled it away to look at the red left on his fingers. He couldn’t even look at the other guy, he didn’t think he could handle it. Vash fisted Wolfwood’s shirt in his hands, and pulled him flush against his body, pressing his lips to his before he could think it through.
Wolfwood hummed in appreciation, but he didn’t deepen the kiss. He pulled away, and ran his thumb along his bottom lip. “Where do you need to go?”
Vash didn’t want to be alone. He didn’t think he could handle it right now. So against his better judgment, he found himself whispering, “take me home.”
The other man seemed to consider it a moment before nodding, and he led Vash out of the alley without a second glance at the man he’d left bleeding out on the pavement. He led him to the motorcycle parked at the curb, and suddenly all the leather made more sense. Wolfwood picked the single helmet off the set and set it over Vash’s head before he could argue, then threw his leg over the bike. The blonde followed suit, and climbed on behind him, then wrapped his arms tighter than necessary around his waist. He let his body full press to Wolfwood’s back, savoring the warmth seeping through the leather and the smell of him, a usually unpleasant combination of leather, gunpowder, and cigarette smoke that now just felt grounding.
“Don’t let go.”
Vash watched the city pass as Wolfwood wove through cars, too caught up in the feel of the other man and the comedown from what just happened sapping his energy to feel any kind of fear about how recklessly he drove. He just held him tighter, and rested his head against his back, letting his eyes close. He shouldn’t trust this man, he knew that, but…
Wolfwood pat his thigh, and Vash sat up, realizing with a start that the bike had already been turned off and they had been sitting there for god knows how long. He got off the back a little clumsily, and pulled the helmet off before passing it over. He caught the patch of red just as it left his hands, and he bit his lip.
“Sorry about- about the blood.”
“‘s fine,” Wolfwood said, cracking a smile as he offered his hand. Vash took it without hesitation and let him lead him into an old looking apartment building. He unlocked his door but it didn’t budge until he threw his shoulder into it, and Vash felt something warm building in his stomach. “Let’s get you cleaned up first.”
He pulled him into the kitchen and propped Vash up onto the counter like he weighed nothing. Wolfwood disappeared down the hallway for a moment before coming back with a first aid kit held triumphantly over his head. He brushed his hair back away from his forehead once more, then took a damp washcloth to his face to clean the blood that had dried uncomfortably on his skin.
“You do this a lot?” Vash asked, examining his face now that he could fully see him, no matter how shitty the fluorescents overhead were. His face looked older up close, there were bags under his eyes and a hint of a wrinkle forming between his brows that must have formed after years of furrowing his brows. His nose was strong and crooked, and there was a cut there that hadn’t fully healed yet. There was stubble along his chiseled jaw that Vash couldn’t resist but run his fingers along.
“Nah, I’m usually the one that needs patched up,” he said matter-of-factly, cleaning the wound itself now with one hand on the back of his head to hold him still. “Unless you’re talking about bringing people home, then yeah. Hold still now,” he murmured the last part, taking extra care as he applied the small butterfly bandages to his temple. “There. Good as new.” Wolfwood surveyed his handiwork with a smile, and set his hands on Vash’s thighs.
It made him realize just how close he was, how he had been standing between his legs this entire time to mend the wound, and Vash felt his cheeks flush. First, he’d said. He had to clean him up first, and then…
Vash wrapped his arms around his neck, and pulled his body flush against his, leaning in to press his lips to his before he could overthink it. Wolfwood hummed into the kiss, and this time he didn’t hesitate to deepen it, to nip and suck at his bottom lip so he would open his mouth for him. He ran his strong hands up and down his thighs, and Vash softly whined into it, running his fingers into his dark hair. Wolfwood pulled him off the counter, one arm going under his ass to hold him up, and carried him down the hall into his bedroom. Vash could hear him kicking things in his way as he did, and when he was dropped down onto the bed he realized it was a bare mattress laid out on the floor.
It should have been a red flag. It really should have. But unfortunately…
Vash pulled Wolfwood back on top of him, spreading his legs easily and moaning when he felt the other man’s hard cock through his pants. He pushed his jacket back off his shoulders, and fumbled with the few buttons on his shirt that were done. He didn’t even bother to push his shirt off, he just wanted to get his hands on his chest, to feel his pecs. Wolfwood undid his pants and pulled them and his boxers off in one fell swoop, leaving Vash bare from the waist down. There was no time for him to feel self-conscious before Wolfwood was leaning down to reconnect their lips. Wolfwood kissed aggressively, all teeth and tongue, and Vash blindly reached down to undo his belt. The other man put a hand on his, stopping him, and pulled out of the kiss to suck at the skin just below his ear.
“I want you to sit on my face,” he panted against his neck, sending a shiver down his spine.
Vash bit his lip, but nodded quickly, scrambling to follow Wolfwood’s lead as the other man flopped onto his back. He crawled up his body, flushing bright red when he saw the smirk on his face, and he quickly but carefully lowered himself over his face.
Wolfwood scoffed, and he shivered at the puff of air against him. “I’m not fragile, princess,” he said, reaching his hands up to grip at his thighs. “Smother me.”
Vash felt heat pooling between his legs, and he let Wolfwood pull him flush against his face, his tongue immediately circling his clit before sucking on the swollen bud. The blonde ran his fingers through dark hair, and he looked down in time to see him close his eyes at the sensation. Wolfwood tightened his grip on his thighs, and licked between his folds before teasing at his hole. When he heard Vash whine and felt his fingers tighten on his hair, he started tongue fucking him open in earnest. Wolfwood ate pussy the way he kissed, like it was the last thing he would ever do and he was determined to leave behind a legacy. It was obscene and filthy, and his stubble tickled Vash’s skin when he subconsciously rocked his hips. He could feel him groan more than he heard it, and Wolfwood moved one hand to his hip, encouraging him to do it again.
It was difficult to be self-conscious when his partner was so enthusiastic, so Vash let him guide his hips, grinding down against his tongue with a breathy whine. When he found a rhythm Wolfwood let go of his hip to press his middle finger to his asshole. He rubbed at his hole for a moment, and when Vash didn’t stop him he pressed it in to the knuckle, fucking him with his finger and tongue at a brutal pace. It felt like his entire body was on fire, and he gripped his dark hair like it was a lifeline, keeping him here even as his vision started to grow white at the edges.
“N-Nico- Nico, please-” he cried, on the brink. It felt like he was going to black out, and they ran the very real chance that he would crush Wolfwood when his thighs finally gave out.
His back arched sharply, and he cried out, his orgasm hitting him in shuddering waves. Vash threw his head back, his chest heaving with panting breaths, and he carefully sat up, maintaining enough sense to know he had to give Wolfwood the chance to breathe. When he caught his breath he moved off of the other man entirely, falling off to his side on the mattress. A wave of anxiety hit him as Wolfwood rolled out of bed, getting to his feet.
Did he- was it not good? Did he not want to-
His brain short-circuited when he looked up and saw Wolfwood licking his lips. “Sorry, just uh- need to,” he muttered, smirk still on his face as he reached a hand up to adjust the bridge of his nose. His chin was slick with Vash’s juices as well as blood that had trickled down over his lips.
“Oh my god.”
“It’s fine-”
“Oh my god!” Vash cried, pushing himself to his knees, and he reached out to pull Wolfwood down to his level to examine the damage. “Did I actually break your nose?!”
He had the audacity to laugh as he shrugged his shirt the rest of the way off. “Nah, it was already broken.” He undid his belt and shoved his pants and boxer briefs down his legs.
“It was already broken and you let me do that?! Didn’t it hurt?!”
“Fuck yeah it did,” he grinned, crowding him back against the mattress. “I’d ask you to do it again, but first…” He reached down to guide his dick, rubbing it along Vash’s folds.
Vash wanted to continue fretting over him, wanted to insist he ice his nose or go into a hospital, wanted to help in some way… but his body had other ideas. He whined at the tease, all rational thought leaving him as he fully lay back against the mattress, and he reached a hand down to spread his pussy open for him.
“Goddamn, look at you,” he breathed, smirk falling away to look at Vash with genuine awe. It was far more embarrassing than the smirk. Wolfwood took the invitation without a second thought, pressing in with agonizing slowness.
His dick was big, bigger than he’d had before, and he felt his pussy stretching to accommodate it. It felt like an eternity before he bottomed out, his hips pressed flush against him, and Vash sucked in a deep breath. He wasn’t even moving yet and Vash was sure he was already seeing stars.
“So full,” Vash whined, crying out when Wolfwood started thrusting.
“Fucking Christ, princess, you’re so fucking hot,” he grunted, strong hands gripping his hips hard enough to bruise. “Think you feel full now just wait, you’re gonna feel my cum in your guts by the end of this.”
It was incomprehensibly irresponsible, irresponsible and just plain stupid, to not only let this guy fuck him without a condom, but let him cum inside. But god if it wasn’t the hottest thing he could imagine. Wolfwood was fucking him harder and deeper than he’d ever been before, and his balls slapped his ass with an obscene smack on every thrust. He moved his hands from his hips to the backs of his knees so he could push them up to Vash’s chest, his dick hitting places he didn’t even know were possible in the new position. If he didn’t know any better he swore he was abusing his cervix with every thrust.
Vash groped at his chest, his shoulders, struggling to get a grip on the other man before settling on the rosary around his neck. He gripped the beads in his prosthetic fist and pulled Wolfwood down until he could kiss him, the kiss devolving into just panting into each other’s mouths almost immediately. Wolfwood set Vash’s leg on his shoulder so he could free one of his hands, and he guided the other man’s hand to his mouth. He licked along the length of two of his fingers, then circled the digits before sucking them into his mouth, closing his eyes in ecstasy. The blonde groaned, and pressed his fingers down against his tongue, squeezing around his cock when Wolfwood hollowed his cheeks. He slipped his fingers out, making Wolfwood look at him again, and he maintained the eye contact as he reached his wet fingers down to fondle his clit.
He got the message and reached down, shoving his hand out of the way to massage his clit with his thumb. “So hot, so fucking hot,” he groaned, dropping his forehead down against his. “Let me taste you again, baby.”
Vash put his fingers back in his mouth, groaning when he nipped at them before sucking them clean. It was all too much, his cock, his hand, his tongue, and he crashed. His entire body shuddered, and he practically screamed as his pussy convulsed, his squirt drenching Wolfwood’s dick and abs. He would have been more embarrassed if the other man didn’t look so damn proud of himself, if he hadn’t just filled him with his own thick, hot cum.
“Oh fuck,” he whined, shivering when he pulled out, leaving him practically gaping as his cum started to ooze out.
Wolfwood leaned back, dropping his leg from his shoulder as he did, and looked down to examine his handiwork. Vash’s body fell limp against the bed, and he let his head fall back against the pillow, his hand trailing down his body to rub over his abused pussy.
“So are you gonna let me eat you out again, or…?”
Nicholas Wolfwood was a fucking animal.
