When he had formed the habit of accompanying Narukami to her dorm nearly every day, Adonis wasn't sure. All he knew is that he never wanted to stop.
Narukami's eyes glowed with the sparks of the storm her name brought. Adonis loved the way she visibly brightened when speaking about a topic she adored, and while he'd probably never tell her, he deeply wanted her to brighten at the thought of him.
She turned to look at him, and Adonis realized she was waiting for a response. He softly smiled and gestured for her to keep speaking. She seemed satisfied and continued her story, eyes facing up towards the stars. Adonis' eyes wandered down to her hand, where it kept just missing his own as they stepped.
If he were a less cautious man he would have taken it by now. But, seeing as he was a very cautious man, he was content to simply imagine. That is, until Narukami suddenly stopped walking.
"Adonis, you can take my hand if you want to, it's alright." His eyes darted up to the girl's, the streetlight casting an orange hue around her head. He swallowed.
Slowly reaching his hand across the small distance, he quietly asked, "Are you sure?"
Narukami laughed, a sweet bright laugh. A laugh Adonis could listen to until the end of his days.
"Of course I'm sure," a soft smile dressed her features, her eyes slightly crinkling from her previous laughter. Adonis thought she was the most beautiful thing that would ever grace his world.
Feeling his face flush, Adonis hesitantly closed the distance between their fingers, Intertwining them.
Narukami's hand was warm, the boy noted as they resumed their steps.
