Work Text:
Ren's left shoulder starts to ache after a long time on the train, but it was as if it had been there for a long while. So as much as he wanted to quietly wait until they arrived at their destination, Ren's curiosity got the better of him, forcing him to finally look around
'what's with my-' He inspects the strange weight on his shoulder, only to realize that instead of a random passenger, it was his girlfriend, someone he wouldn't hesitate to call the love of his life. Sumire Yoshizawa, but he was conflicted on whether to let her sleep there or to wake her up, She was sleeping peacefully they were approaching their destination after all.
Ultimately however, Ren decides to wake her up, releasing her from whatever dream she might have had by gently jostling and shaking his shoulders, hoping that it would be enough to disturb her out of her sleep.
And it worked, Ren looks at his girlfriend as she wipes her eyes and drowsily leans into the train seat, blinking slowly before she finally regains the energy to face her boyfriend.
"H-how long have I been asleep, Senpai?" She asks, her somewhat dazed face and subtly messy straight hair were enough to tell Ren that even though they were packed like sardines, she was still comfortable enough to get some good sleep. And to him? That was worth more than everything the world had to offer, and he knew this like it was told to him on the day of his birth.
"Not very long, but I woke you up because our stop's almost here" Ren confirms, gaining Sumire's attention for a short while, before she yawns softly, not particularly minding what she looked like to anyone. Ren didn't mind, however, her small imperfections made her way better than the finest art Yusuke could ever produce, no offense to him,
"C-can I sleep a little more, please?" Sumire pleads, and Ren's big mouth was about to tell her she could, and he would've been happy to do so.
He had to restrain himself however, as it was getting late, and they were going home, Kasumi's protective anger while justified, was not exactly an anger he wanted to experience daily, not to mention her father. He might not even be able to see what tomorrow was if he sent her home one minute later than scheduled.
(No way,)
