Chapter Text
Logan wanted to see the stars, ideally in the real world however, Thomas was currently half asleep. And because light pollution made them almost invisible, he didn’t want to ask Thomas to go for a drive in his sleepy state. He was very reluctant to but he headed for Roman’s room. He figured that the creative side would be able to help him.
After he knocked, Roman answered the door.
“Yes? Oh Logan, how are you?” Roman asked.
“I am alright. I was wondering if you could do me a favour.” Logan continued after Roman raised an eyebrow, “Could you open the imagination for me? I would like to go see the stars that are there.” Logan asked.
“Yeah sure, why not.” Roman paused and waved his hand, “There, it should be open for public access. Go have fun!” Roman smiled at the logical side as he shut his door again.
“Thank you.” Logan said to the already shut door. He sighed and rolled his eyes before heading downstairs. What would be the door to Thomas’ porch was now the portal to the imagination. He adjusted his glasses before stepping through.
Once inside he just looked around for a moment. The portal took him to what very obviously was Roman’s half, specifically the town that branched off a kingdom in Roman’s section. Street lamps littered the brick-pathed streets, giving the town a nice little yellow glow. Logan began walking through the town, following the occasional street sign to find the outskirts of the town.
He kept walking, coming to a stop when he found another town only half an hour away from the other. It wasn’t far enough to see the stars clearly so he kept walking. Though, instead of finding a field or paddock, he kept finding towns with not a huge fan between them.
He started to give up after he arrived at the 5th town, sitting down on a bench and sighing for a moment. It was peaceful there, and the walks between towns had been peaceful. He couldn’t imagine these towns during the day, when Thomas’ imagination was more active. He sighed and went to summon a book, deciding that he may as well make use of the imagination being open. Thankfully the street lamps provided enough light for him to read.
He didn’t have time to start reading before he heard something land on the lamp post next to him. He turned to look and found the more disturbing twin, hanging upside down, by his legs, on the lamp post. He was staring at Logan.
“Whatcha doin?” Remus hummed, swaying a little bit.
“I am reading. Why?” Logan was slightly cautious while he asked the question, he knew how Remus could get.
“Reading huh? Is that what we call walking around for hours?” Remus chuckled a bit as he teased the other side.
“You were watching me? I’m not surprised actually.” Logan hummed, shutting his book for a moment.
“Anyway, what were you looking for? I could tell you were searching for something. Oo let me guess!! Uhh a vibrator maybe?” Logan made a face at that.
“No Remus. I was looking for a field to see the stars clearer in.”
“Ooo!! Star gazing huh? Roman’s half isn’t the best for that. You’ve got to walk for at least another hour to see fields. He made like 7 towns? Oh but my half is great! If you ignore all the thorns, beasts, murder hornets, bats, drop bears…” he trailed off for a moment. “Most importantly, there’s a huge clearing. You should come see it! It’s much better than Roman’s stupid fields.” Remus started going on about how dumb his brother's half was.
“Remus.” Logan hummed, trying to get his attention again.
“Oh yeah! So wanna come see it? I’ve got like one town on my side and a forest and that’s pretty much it, aside from the castle of course.” Remus hummed, dropping down from the lamp and standing up, completely ignoring that he landed on his neck.
“Sure. It sounds nicer than walking for hours just for a chance to see the stars.” Logan hummed, getting up and letting the book disappear.
“Ooo yay! I never get visitors, this will be so fun!” Remus bounced on the balls of his feet for a moment before sinking them both out. They appeared in the dark side commons which honestly surprised Logan.
“Wh-“
“I can’t teleport us both there from Roman’s half. It’s too far.” Remus hummed, walking through the second portal. Logan followed closely behind him, he did not want to get lost in here.
“Alrighty! Stay close now, don’t want to get lost in the trees!” Remus hummed as he started walking… no, skipping ahead. Logan didn’t have time to look around, not if he didn’t want to get lost. He did know however that they were in a forest, trees alternating between dead and somewhat alive with thorn bushes weaving in and out of the tree line. The sky looked red, it worried Logan a bit as he started to second guess Remus’ motives.
“Keep coming Logan!” Remus called, way further ahead than Logan thought he would be. Seems he did stop to look after all. Logan kept walking with the twin, having jogged up to walk just behind him.
They walked in silence for a while, save for remus’ occasional vocalizations of a song Thomas had stuck in his head and other random noises. The paths were windy, it seemed very easy to get lost. And easy would be an understatement. After the third time of Logan missing a turn, Logan figured that holding onto Remus’ sash might make it easier for him to stay close. The fabric was a little rough in his grasp but pleasant.
Remus chuckled a bit at the pull, and started to slow his pace into a walk instead of skipping.
“Don’t want to get lost huh?” He commented.
“I’d prefer not to, after all I don’t know this area nor do I know what creatures live here.” Logan said, fiddling with the fabric a bit.
“That makes sense, you might not want to get fucked by some of the creatures here.” Remus hummed, leaving Logan a combination of confused and disturbed.
“Unless you want to?” Remus teased a bit, but kept walking. The forest started to give way to a town. The “people” that were around the streets were on the level of an uncanny valley and it unnerved Logan a bit, he didn’t really enjoy the uncanny valley. They kept walking, passing through the town and into a clearing.
After a little of a longer walk they got to what seemed to be the middle of the clearing. Logan watched as Remus summoned what would be a picnic blanket and sat down. He hesitated a bit before joining Remus on the blanket.
“So uh..” Logan hummed, glancing up at the sky, “are there no stars out tonight?”
“Nope! They’re there. Give it a minute!” Remus hummed, getting comfortable on the mat, staring up at the sky as the red sky and black clouds gave way to the pitch black that was the night sky.
“There’s still noth-“ Logan got cut off by Remus.
“Lay down and you’ll see them Dumbass.”
“Okay..?” Logan did as he said and laid down, sure enough they were starting to become visible as soon as he laid down.
The stars flickering a slight bit as they faded into view.
“See I told you you could see them better!” Remus smiled as he just stared at the sky. Logan was surprised, while there weren't any real constellations, the placement of each star seemed very intentional.
The two laid there in silence for a while, just watching the stars.
“Thank you.”
“Huh?”
“For showing me this.” Logan clarified.
“Oh yeah of course. I know how much you love the stars. Honestly I love stars too.” Remus smiled at him.
“Really? I didn’t take you for someone who liked stars.” Logan stated.
“Of course I do. They could explode at any minute and be really pretty while they do so!” Remus hummed.
Logan glanced at Remus again and smiled before looking back to the sky. The sky had changed, now there were shooting stars flying in and out of view.
“Wow…” Logan hummed, watching the stars.
“Logan.. thank you.”
“Why are you thanking me?” Logan was confused to say the least, taking his eyes off the stars to look at Remus.
“For trusting me. You are the first side to come here with me willingly. No matter how hesitant you were, you still came to my half and that’s crazy to me. You don’t find me weird or gross, or at least you don't the majority of the time. But you trust me. You trusted that I would show you stars and I appreciate it.” Remus smiled at Logan, he blushed a little when he saw Logan smiling back at him.
“Of course. You get on my nerves at times but you’re good company. And I think we have more in common than we thought.” Logan muttered, turning to him.
“Oh?”
“Next week, if you’d like to. Would you like to do an experiment with me? If you would, you might need to make a lab somewhere in here.” Logan hummed.
“Oh fuck yeah! Science is fun!” Remus hummed, sitting up a bit.
“Perfect. It sounds like a plan.” Logan smiled, “for now though, let’s keep stargazing.”
“Oo hold on!” Remus hummed and teleported them somewhere new.
They were now in his castle, on the balcony. The castle was far enough from the town that the light pollution didn’t obstruct the view. Logan was surprised by the new location, but leaned on the railing either way. He had to be careful of where he put his arms so that he didn’t get stabbed by a thorn but he didn’t mind, he just stared at the sky.
“The stars are so pretty…” Logan mumbled, just louder than a whisper and loud enough that Remus heard it.
“Not as pretty as you..” Remus had been staring at Logan, watching his face as he stared at the sky.
“What?” Logan muttered, turning to him and he watched as Remus quickly looked at the stars.
“I said they’re pretty.” Remus blurted, trying to change the subject.
“I heard what you said Remus.” Logan hummed, blushing a tiny bit.
“Oh. Sorry if that was weird.” Remus hummed, “I get it if you want to go back.”
“No, it's fine.” Logan smiled.
“Are you sure?”
“I’m positive. Besides, I kind of had a feeling you liked me.” Logan smirked at him.
Remus tried to say something but couldn’t find the words.
“You’re not as subtle as you think Remus.” Logan smirked at him as he teased him.
“Maybe I wasn’t trying to be subtle.” Remus hummed, he was trying to be subtle but didn’t want to admit that.
“Oh really? Cause when you started going on about how I trust you it was very obvious that you like me.” Logan hummed, shifting closer to him.
“Fine, I like you. Shut up.” Remus sighed, glaring at him a tiny bit.
“I think I may like you too.” That sentence was something Remus thought he’d never hear, especially from Logan.
“I- what?”
“I’m not great with feelings but I do feel a level of attraction towards you Remus.” Logan hummed, smirking at him.
“I- I don’t know what to say to that.” Remus hummed, he was at a loss for words for the first time in a very long time.
“You don’t have to say anything.” Logan hummed, Turing back to the stars that were now slowly twinkling.
“Then can I do something?”
“I.. sure.” Logan blushed harder at that, turning to face him. He didn’t need to ask what Remus wanted to do as he did what he wanted. Logan was slightly taken aback by the feeling of lips against his own. Remus’ mustache was definitely interesting to feel scratching against his philtrum but he didn’t mind it. Remus hummed into the kiss a bit as he grabbed the back of Logan’s head, pulling him closer.
Logan pulled back for a moment to take off his glasses before going back to the kiss. Remus’ other hand found purchase on Logan’s hip. Logan didn’t know what to do, so he rested them on Remus’ shoulders. Logan pulled back when Remus’ hands started to roam.
“No, we are not about to have sex. Not yet.” Logan hummed, putting his glasses back on.
“Aww, but your ass.” Remus whined a bit.
“Not today. Maybe next week, we’ll see.” Logan chuckled a bit, turning back to the stars.
“Man you’re boring.” Remus chuckled, teasing him.
“No, I just don’t want to have sex on the first date.”
“Wait. You thought this was a date!? Oh that’s amazing.” Remus smiled at him.
“It felt like one. So I’m going to consider it one.” Logan hummed.
“That makes sense.”
———
It didn’t take long for the two of them to slowly get tired and the two sank out. The two arrived at Logan’s room.
“I thought you would’ve gone to your room.” Logan hummed, hooning inside and kicking his shoes off.
“I just wanted to say Goodnight to you. I had fun on our date.” Remus chuckled a little bit.
“I enjoyed myself too.” Logan smiled, “thank you for letting me see the stars in your half of the imagination.”
“Of course, anytime! If you’d like, I could show you more than the stars next time~.” Remus wiggled his eyebrows at him before pressing a kiss to his cheek.
“Well Goodnight Remus, sleep well.” Logan hummed, slowly shutting his door.
“Goodnight Logan!” Remus smiled and sank out to his own room.
“You look like you had a /bad/ time.” Janus hummed, he had been waiting for Remus to go to bed when Thomas hadn’t fallen asleep yet.
“Oh I had the best time!” Remus hummed, a smile permanently on his face.
“What did you do this time?” Janus sighed, assuming that he’ll have to clean up a mess.
“I kissed Logan!” Remus hummed, sitting down on the couch.
“Did you now? And was he okay with that?” Janus sighed.
“Duh, he kissed me back!”
“And how did it get to that?” Janus was confused.
“Oh well..” Remus gave a very brief explanation, “though he didn’t want to go further than kissing. I’m sure we’ll fuck next week though!”
“Oh really? What have you planned next week?” Janus sighed, worried.
“We’re gonna do science stuff in the imagination! I can’t wait for it!!” Remus flapped his hands a bit, he was very clearly excited.
“Well as long as you don’t break anything I hope you have fun.” Janus sighed, getting up and yawning, “And as much as I’d love to hear more, Thomas needs his sleep and I do too, good night Remus. Please don’t keep Thomas up thinking about fucking Logan.” Janus sighed and sank out.
Remus just rolled his eyes and went to bed after having a snack.
He did keep Thomas up. He kept him awake for another hour before falling asleep and allowing Thomas to slowly fall asleep.
