Work Text:
Since he was a kid, Korkie always heard about the Jedi who saved Satine Kryze during the Civil War. Ever since, he has witnessed the impact this very Jedi has had on his aunt’s life despite the short amount of time they spent together. He is not a fool, he knows Mandalore’s past et therefore understands perfectly why the Jedi did not stay. He would never have been accepted among Mandalorians, especially during a time of rebuild after one of Mandalore’s worst hardships. But Korkie knows that his aunt still loves her Jedi. She has never taken another man to her bed, nor has she ever looked at one with the same loving gaze she has when thinking about Jedi Master Obi Wan Kenobi.
Often, Korkie has dreamed as a kid that Obi-Wan would come back to Satine, to make her smile the way only his memory can, to help her bear the burden of power, which proves to be heavier in such difficult times. Those thoughts of return were not completely disinterested either. Each time Korkie has had to think about a paternal model, one to imitate and follow, the face of the Jedi has always been the one to appear in his mind.
However, Korkie has never been able to meet the man before tonight, having therefore as sole inspiration his aunt’s and the holonet’s stories. But he is now certain of the veracity of these heroic tales : there is no better man than Obi-Wan Kenobi in this galaxy, and Korkie is delighted to know that this very man has chosen his aunt. The smile she has on the face as she dances with him is the sole proof Korkie needed : Satine Kryze has never been alone, for as far as Obi-Wan Kenobi lives, he has always been devoted to the woman in his arms.
