Show the world you got that fire

Summary:

“It’s not mine to judge,” Butter starts, looking at the couple intently from where he is sitting in the lounge chair next to the couch, “how you two life your life. But allowing Sky to run around in a state of a three-month pregnancy with twins, without supervision, isn’t what I would deem safe. Especially since Sky can’t be pregnant for more than three weeks. You two are going too fast.”

Sky’s heartbeat stops for a moment, Prapai freezes.

“What?” they both ask in unison.

Butter furrows his brows, “You two do know Sky is pregnant, yes?”

Or:
Sky is pregnant with twins. Vampire twins.

Notes:

Sequel 3/5, are you ready? :3

I'm not going too deep into mpreg. In case you are uncomfortable with the topic itself, you might find you can read this story.
It revolves around Prapai's and Sky's wish to built a family. Emotions, rather than graphic descriptions.
Just like I am writing non-traditional Alpha/Omega, I also write non-traditional mpreg (no wonder, when the story is about vampire twins, right?)

Chapter Text

The sound of a finger-snap abruptly jostles Sky from a light doze back into reality.

He opens his eyes, glares at Rain, whose two fingers snap another two times in front of his nose.

“You are  not  listening!” Rain accuses, draws his hand back to continue eating the lunch sitting on the two trays in front of them, at the table inside one of the universities cafeterias.

Sky yawns, then says, “You were talking about P’Phayu.”

“I  was  talking about the new bike P’Phayu got.” Rain states then raises an eyebrow, “You fell asleep during class today three times. What were you up to all night? Was P’Pai a beast and railed you until you couldn’t think clearly anymore?”

Rain .” Sky warns.

“What?” Rain responds, crosses his arms in front of his chest, then nods to the untouched meal in front of Sky, “Don’t tell me you are pregnant. You looked sick earlier when you tried one bite,  right before  you stopped eating and nearly fell asleep.”

Sky rolls his eyes, shoves the tray towards Rain, knowing his friend is out for the dessert he hadn’t touched yet, “Does P’Phayu know you are trying to get fat?”

Rain sputters, shoves his chopsticks into the vicinity of Sky’s eyes, muttering curses under his breath. “Just because you got married, doesn’t mean you—“

“Sky?” a voice interrupts the triage Rain was about to get into.

Sky turns, sees Butter traversing his way through the filled cafeteria, a stack of files in his hands.

“It took ages until I found you.” Butter says, sits down in the empty chair next to Sky, “These student council files need immediate—“ he tetters out, lays the stack of papers on the table, then draws the glasses down his nose. He sweeps his eyes - briefly turning blue - up and down Sky’s body before he says seriously, “I don’t know what kind of agreement you have with Khun Prapai, but what you are doing is dangerous for your health. You are aware of that, are you?”

“Yah!” Rain interrupts, “Tell him! He can’t get railed all night and then fall asleep in class all day long!”

Butter briefly turns his head to Rain before he returns his attention to Sky, “What is he talking about?”

Sky shrugs, “Does anyone ever know what Rain is talking about?”

“Hey! You are being especially mean today!” Rain accusses, petulantly lifts his chin and crosses his arms.

Butter shakes his head, says utterly seriously, “Why are you not with Khun Prapai for lunch?”

“He’s busy today. He can’t spare time for lunch.” Sky answers, “What is dangerous?”

Butter glances at Rain for the fragment of a moment, “You are losing too much energy.” he says cryptic, looks Sky square in the eyes, “You don’t know what is going on?”

Sky’s hands instinctively settle over his lower abdomen protectively, “I am fine.”

“No, Sky,” Butter says utterly serious, “you are not fine.” he stands up, “Come with me, I’ll drive you home.”

Sky narrows his eyes, repeats, “I am fine.”

Butters eyes turn violet, “I am not joking, Sky. Either you come with me and we drive to your home, or I call Khun Prapai and he will teleport to your side. Do you want an overprotective alpha in here?”

“You are too much like your mother.” Sky mutters, gets up the same moment his best firend stands up as well, all former petulance gone.

“What’s wrong? Sky? What is going on?” Rain asks genuinely worried.

He turns to his friend, says, “Everything is fine. You finish lunch. I will be back in class later. Don’t worry.”

1 hour later

Sky sits on the couch at Prapai’s condo, his arms crossed in front of his chest, when the door opens and Prapai storms in.

“Sky, baby.” Prapai exhales worriedly, rushes towards his husband, “Are you okay? Why didn’t you let me teleport to your side?”

“I’m fine.” Sky states with vehemence, sends a side glare at Butter before he returns his attention back to his alpha now glued to his side, “You don’t have to waste energy by teleporting when there is no urgency.”

“What’s going on?” Prapai asks impatiently towards Butter.

Sky feels the protectiveness of his alpha skyrocketing, smells the change in the scent the longer Prapai tries to find out what might be happening. His husband settles closer to him on the couch, as if trying to built a shield, a hand comes up, starts to stroke through Sky’s hair. Prapai’s other hand gently draws Sky’s hand in his before he starts to rub soothing circles with his thumb over Sky’s knuckles.

“Of course.” Prapai says, sounding collected while his scent emanates stress, “Explain the part about Sky being way further than he should be.”

Butter closes his eyes for a moment, goes through his hair with one hand, then opens his eyes, looking as if he is ringing for the last strands of patience, “You,” he looks at Sky, “are carrying twins. Vampire twins. They both feed off of you energetically, rather than nourishing themselves like human babies. You didn’t add a limitation or boundary. Meaning your children are feeding off of you twenty-four-seven. With this rate, they grow too fast, and won’t learn they cannot take energy all the time. In the end, they will draw all the energy from you, leaving you entirely drained. It’s likely you won’t survive the birth if you continue like this. A birth you will give in two months maximum, if not in six weeks.”

Sky heartbeat rackets up, pumps violently in his throat. His free hand travels down to his abdomen, where his three-month-old babies are growing inside him.

His twins.

His vampire twins.

The words from Butter circle in his mind, trying to find a path to make it sense, but he can’t. He can’t process the information beyond  twins . Three-month-old twins.

“Sky?” Prapai asks gently, draws him into his arms, “It’s okay. I am here. We will find a solution.”

Sky burrows his face into his alpha’s neck, against the mating mark, feels only then how tears are streaming down his cheeks. He feels overwhelmed, out of the blue, as if he can’t deal with the situation at hand.

“It’s okay.” Prapai repeats, softly, soothingly, restarts the caresses through Sky’s hair.

Sky shakes his head, climbs on his alpha’s lap, wraps his arms around his husband, “Twins.” he says shakenly, feels Prapai’s hammering heartbeat against his own.

“You are a miracle, baby.” Prapai says, kisses his omega’s hair, “An absolute miracle. I love you so much.”

Sky feels a wave of adoration and deep love flowing from Prapai into him. A moment later the anxiousness he hadn’t noticed was creeping up, loses its power, falls back into the void it came from. For a breath he floats, as if detached from the body and mind, right before he the connection to his babies flares. For the first time he becomes aware of how they draw energy from him, feeding from him like he so often feeds from his husband. He puts out a figuratively hand, tells his babies to stop, gently and carefully. His twins react immediately, halt what they started. He feels them going back to the balanced state they were in before, as if they would go to sleep, as if they were already sentient and fully aware of what they were doing.

A second later, he falls back into the consciousness of his body. Like an uncomfortable fall in a mess of emotions and hormones he can’t control.

He slowly becomes aware of Prapai’s arms around him, Prapai’s heartbeat against his, Prapai’s voice in his ear whispering sweet nothings. At the same time, fatigue and nausea overwhelm him like a tsunami wave, capturing his attention. For a moment the room he can’t see through his closed eyes spins dangerously.

Peripherally he becomes aware of how Prapai’s hand suddenly wraps around his neck, how fingers press down on the points triggering his omega side to the forefront.

“Relax, baby.” he hears his husband’s voice in his ear, soothingly gently, “I am here. Relax into me. You are doing good. You are perfect.”

His bodys response is immediate. Tension falls off of him, his whole being. He relaxes full body against his alpha, falls into the scent. The nausea starts to drift away, the fatigue turns into tiredness. A tiredness he is fighting against throughout the whole day, and has lost against during the lull of classes more often than not.

“Sleep, my love.” Sky hears distantly, halfway off to dreamland, “I won’t leave your side.”

Twins . He thinks, maybe murmurs, before he falls into depths of dreamless sleep.

Prapai closes his eyes, lays another kiss on his sleeping omega’s hair. Carefully, bit by bit, he loosens his grip on Sky’s neck, strokes through his husband’s hair three times before he lays the hand on Sky’s shoulder blade. He adjusts his arm around his love’s waist before he opens his eyes, and says quietly, “Butter, call your mother and Dr. Ling. I want them to come here as soon as possible. Make sure to let them know I won’t take it kindly if they wake Sky.”
